Hamster watchers ready?
Recap - Christmas's bad break. The HoH comp. Into the nominations. Into the frog curse. Veto meeting. Cody on the block with Alex and Ramses.
Yep, as we all guessed, there will be a Battle Back next week. Whoever leaves tonight (Cody) will join Cameron and Jillian to battle back in. I'm assuming that Megan won't be in it.
Oh geez, kerfuffles with Jessica, Cody and Josh. Alex loves watching the train wreck. Cody tells us that he's not angry with Paul.
Christmas time. She needs surgery on her broken foot. It's up to her to decide whether to stay in the house and recover or leave. She says she wants to stay. BB won't alter any comps for her and some she won't be able to compete in.
Jessica tries to mend fences with Christmas, telling her that she didn't know Cody was going to nominate her last week. Christmas isn't really buying what she's selling.
Christmas is still in the hospital and will cast her vote to evict from her hospital bed.
Cody is determined to stir things up according to Judy. Cut to people celebrating Dominique's birthday. Jessica cries. She's on slop and others eat cake. And she has to sit on the lily pad. Woe is Jessica.
Are those victim noises coming from her?
Cody wants to salvage her game. He knows she's where she is because of him. I personally doubt she'd be in much better standing without him, but ...!
He tells us he's going to drop some names and stir the pot. He tells Christmas that Dominque told him to put he up. He says Mark knew about it, too. She doesn't really believe him, but she says to us that she'll watch them.
Onto last night's Dominque Show (covered in my latest feeds report). Again, he hints one or two people knew everything he was doing as HoH. Mark accuses him of trying to save Jessica's game.
Eviction time. Julie tells them about Christmas's status.
Alex - You know me well enough to keep me here, I deserve to be here.
Ramses - Had to nominate myself, want to stay. That would suck.
Cody - Says hi to daughter, will miss Jessica.
The votes to evict:
Jessica - Ramses
Kevin - Ramses
Christmas - Ramses
Onto commercial ... (BTW - the Kevin Ramses vote was a Paul/Kevin decision for a hinky vote. Have no clue about the Christmas/Ramses.)
Raven - Cody
Dominique - Cody
Mark - Cody
Jason - Cody
Josh - Cody
Elena - Cody
Matt - Cody
By a vote of six to three, Cody is evicted.
He takes off his frog costume before going out. Huh. All others have gone in costume. He actually handled the Julie interview well. And, of course, he's looking forward to the Battle Back -- Cody, Jillian, Cameron and next week's evictee will be battling to return, to be aired next Friday night, I believe.
The HoH comp. Yes, it's a wall comp. Space Cadets, they're standing on the arm of the BB space station.
Josh is already making faces moments in.
Yes, the Battle Back. Oh my ... the houseguests will be able to stop the return!
Back to the comp. All still up. My comp coverage post on the feeds will pop up at 10pm ET. I'll see many of you there!

Not an investigative reporter |
Here's the latest from inside that Bog Brother House of Toil and Turmoil:
- If you didn't read my evening report last night, now Raven is hurt -- stitches in her foot due to a fall on the stairs.
- The big news overnight is that Dominique's "show" went a bit too far in the questioning ... and answers.
- Alex was the first guest on the show and it was all in fun.
- Ramses was next. I didn't know he was going to college to teach Spanish. The show has made it like he's just all about the cosplay.
- He was fine in his show interview, like the excited kid he is.
- The problem was that Cody actually took part in it, for the first time.
- His fun fact was fine -- he can get out of any pair of handcuffs with a bobby pin. He said BB wouldn't let him bring handcuffs in.
- No surprise there.
- Then he joked about Jessica and not wanting to get into a showmance.
- It went downhill from there.
- Oh, by the way ... he claims it's NOT a showmance.
- Then things got a bit too much into strategy.
- He said he didn't like Paul off the bat, didn't like him last season.
- That actually went over fine.
- But then he implied that Matt and Mark both knew of his plan to get Paul out.
- Uh-oh.
- Cody, who totally screwed up his HoH reign, is smart enough to use the show platform as a last chance to sway the house to keep himself?
- Hmm.
- He also said Ramses was probably told to throw himself in this week so only two PoV players would be chosen and he'd be safe.
- Later, Paul and Dominique discussed how the show shouldn't go into strategy.
- The unrest created shouldn't affect Cody going home tonight.
- In other Cody news, he's developed a rash from his frog costume.

BB19: Live Feeds into Wednesday Evening, Another Injury - July 12
![]() |
The curse of the stairs |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Racking Up the Injuries:
- It was a fairly boring doldrums day in the house until ...
- Raven fell down the stairs.
- She caught her toe and "split it" on the railing while also hitting her head and elbow.
- Blood and the drink she was carrying went everywhere.
- A doctor stitched her toe/foot up. The doctor came to the house. They didn't let us watch.
- Five stitches. Ouch.
- She doesn't have to leave. She won't be allowed to participate in any comps which immerse the foot in water for a while.
- So, we have Mark with a broken/jammed/whatever finger in a splint from early on. Christmas is away having surgery on her foot.
- And now Raven.
- Forget the curses doled out in the Den of Temptation! I think the house is cursed!
- Heh.
- Or, just clumsy.
- In other news, Kevin just can't get over the fact that Cody lied about his age -- saying he was younger than his actual age of 32.
- It doesn't make any sense to Kevin (nor me, really). It's a stupid lie. Kevin easily figured out he was older and is befuddled why anyone would bother with such a stupid lie.
- Oh, by the way ... Paul shirks at blood.
- Kevin, Cody and Mark were the ones who rushed to the rescue of Raven.
- Cody offered to carry her down the stairs.
- She ended up hopping with help instead.
- While I'll admit it was gallant of Cody to offer, it probably would have been dangerous as the blood, broken glass and whatever she was drinking made it slick.
- Oh, well.
- That's how the hamster tumbles.
- They've been on an indoor lockdown while tomorrow's endurance comp is being set up.
- Yes, I plan to cover that as it airs on the live feeds tomorrow.
- Cody is still going home tomorrow night.

BB19: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - July 12
As tonight's show airs, I'll be live-blogging and updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest. As always, the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there!
Recap, recap, recap.
The Backdoor Cody plan is in. Alex and Josh are pawns and Ramses is the third nominee. The show is keeping the suspense going about him.
Cody recognizes it's a backdoor in motion and hopes to play in PoV. Jessica vows to stay with him until the end.
Paul talks to Ramses, promises him he's safe, but he needs to throw the veto comp. Ramses, in the DR, says he's going to try to win it because he feels alone in the game.
The Den of Temptation has cursed Jason, Jessica and Cody. Jessica thinks it was Christmas who did it and, of course, she is right. She thinks Christmas is a bully. They've been cursed by the VToad and must hop everywhere they go and stay to lily pads while in FROG costumes.
Paul sends Kevin to check in with Ramses to make sure he'll stick to the plan. Ramses tells him he will. But he tells us he's conflicted.
Oh geez ... Cody and Jessica moments.
Time to pick PoV players! Only six will participate -- Paul pulls the two chips. Elena and Matt. It breaks Cody's heart. He's a victim.
The veto is played one player at a time. Paul is still trying to convince Ramses. Ramses says he promised himself and his family he wouldn't throw a comp.
The comp is a trip around the world. They pass through terminals, get asked questions, right and the flight is on time, wrong they get challenge delays. The fastest wins. The Path of Least Resistance.
Paul got delayed in Terminal One. Then again in Two. Delayed again in Three. He got through the last two without delays.
Alex went through next. Then Josh. Neither seem to be doing well. Nor is Matt. Nope to Elena, too.
They have to eat pate, caviar and escargot with sweaty tourists falling asleep on them in one of the delays. In another they dive into a frozen "lake" to retrieve their passport. Others in the beginning have them kicking boards and grocery shopping adding up to a certain amount.
Ramses is up. He says he wants to win. He's getting the delays but getting through them quickly.
Josh - 7.48
Ramses - 7.44
Elena - 22.35
Matt - 11.32
Alex - 16.38
Paul - to commercial
Paul - 4.37
Paul wins PoV and isn't happy with Ramses.
More Cody and Jessica. Gag.
Ramses tells Paul he wasn't trying to win the veto, wanted to throw it. Paul says the book is closed, done. Paul doesn't trust Ramses. The editing hints he might want to take him out rather than Cody.
Yeah, right.
Den of Temptation - Halting Hex pushed once again.
Time for the Veto Meeting.
Alex - Wants to be here, if you don't, I will fight you.
Ramses- Use as you feel fit.
Josh - Goes on tirade at Cody. Heh. Whoa, he's really lighting into them.
Paul saves Josh.
Heck, it was the best speech!
Paul puts Cody on the block.

Friendly chat? |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Drifting Drama:
- Yeah, we're still in those down time doldrums awaiting the eviction.
- But there are a few undertones going on right now.
- Undertone 1: Paul is setting up Ramses for the fall. He (Paul) never cared for Ramses and feels betrayed that Ramses almost won the PoV after they made a deal he'd throw it and be safe (in order to set Cody up for the backdoor).
- Now Paul is going around planting the seed that Ramses took the 25 grand temptation that resulted in Paul coming in the house.
- Keep in mind that Paul is the ONLY person in the house other than Kevin who knows it was indeed Kevin taking that money.
- Undertone 2: Lots of anti-Christmas sentiment is going around.
- And I'm not talking the holiday.
- Elena, Mark and Paul had a long talk about how she's changed and is trying to run the house.
- Hmm.
- In other news, Jason and Josh know they're on the fringes. Now they're advising each other on strategy.
- Oh my.
- Meanwhile, Josh is spending more time socializing and getting along with the core Paul group.
- They affectionately call him "Meatball."
- But, at least they don't torment him for being emotional.
- Jessica and Cody? Who are they? They might as well already be gone. They have been avoiding all of the others since Jessica cried to Raven.
- Dominque (and Christmas to a lesser extent) are trying to get Mark to eat a healthier diet.
- No one wants to see Mark go on slop due to his usual humongous intake of food daily.
- Kevin is still getting along with everyone. His social game so far is remarkable -- he's funny, he's not mean to anyone, he has a heart for the less popular while he's in with the In Crowd, too.
- Plus he's the most entertaining hamster in the house.
- That's all for now ...

BB19: Live Feeds into Tuesday Evening - July 11
![]() |
Not a typical "stay at home dad" |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Not So Trendy Toads:
- I still insist those costumes are FROGS not toads, BB! And, since lily pads are used, they're FROGS. Toads are often more brown, some with spots, many with lumps and their skin is rough. Toads are not usually connected to lily pads.
- I had to get that out of my system.
- The house is in the doldrums today with down time.
- It's even more mundane than the doldrums usually are because this week's eviction is just about set in stone and everybody knows it.
- The most exciting thing I saw on the feeds today was another scrolling banner above them which indicates Thursday will be another late night -- the comp will once again finish out on the live feeds.
- Jessica cried about Cody leaving. He comforted her instead of saying she was making victim noises. That must be one of his reserved for men things.
- Kevin mentioned that he feels sorry for Jessica, but she's done nothing to help her own situation by not interacting with anyone by Cody.
- Others agree.
- Raven comforted her.
- No one is planning on being cruel to her after Cody goes.
- They're just planning on putting her on the eviction list.
- It's been Cody and Jessica with the mean streak -- for example, the laughing about Josh and his crying, thinking of ways to tease him about it when it's obviously a sensitive issue.
- Matt told Christmas that he'd like to make it to jury, but doesn't expect to win. He thinks Raven or Paul have the best chance of winning this season. Of those two, he'd prefer Raven.
- Hmm. He'd prefer his showmance girl (although not AS bad as Cody/Jessica) over Paul? Shocking!
- Kevin's tooth didn't get pulled yet.
- Dang, they're kind of entertaining themselves.
- But they're boring to watch right now.
- I don't anticipate things to get much better tomorrow.
- But Thursday will bring new life into the game.

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Hamster Hijinks:
- I want to warn you all right now -- there will be NO victim noises allowed in the comments here. None! I don't want to hear it! Buck up, buckos! You've been warned.
- Ahem.
- Not a heck of a lot has happened since I last reported.
- Cody and Jessica have exiled themselves from all of the activities that everyone else enjoyed.
- The rest had a pool tournament.
- Then they all celebrated Dominque's birthday at midnight.
- About the most tense moment of the night was when Dominque confronted Mark about being a personal trainer -- she counted the cookies and Reese's cups he ate in one sitting.
- He pretty much just kept smiling.
- Now, Mark could never make it on Survivor -- what he eats in one day would last the show cast for a week on that show.
- Kevin and Ramses are funny to watch when they go at each other. Nothing mean, mind you. Just funny.
- Oh. Kevin won the pool tournament. He has a pool table and probably has been playing pool longer than some of the others have been alive.
- Hmm. Christmas says her surgery (on Wednesday) will take four to six hours. I think she might me she'll be gone that long. I've had knee replacements that took less time than that!
- The BB voice kept reprimanding Josh for both singing and playing with his microphone.
- The BB voice also spoke to all of them who were complaining about the air conditioning.
- Beside the yearly ants, the AC always seems to be an issue.
- They need to stop making victim noises about the AC and deal with it like hamsters!
- Later!

Cool Cat |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Wackadoodle Wombats:
- This is going to be rather short and quick due to my real life work schedule today. Apologies.
- The Veto Meeting, blocked to the live feeds, went down early in the day.
- Surprise, surprise! Cody is now on the block!
- Paul saved Josh.
- So, going into Thursday we have Cody, Alex and Ramses on the block.
- Oh my. Who do you think will be voted out?
- Heehee.
- Paul told Kevin that he should vote for Ramses just to throw people off.
- Some think that Kevin spends too much time with Ramses.
- Kevin told them he feels sorry for the kid and doesn't talk game with him.
- No, I haven't seen Kevin talking game with him.
- Cody and Jessica sat eating slop in their stunning little toad (frog) costumes.
- Here's one reason why Jessica is deemed a mean girl by many -- she suggested Cody go by Josh and asked if he changed his diaper today.
- Both Cody and Jessica laughed a lot about how Josh has cried every day since Day 1, etc., etc.
- At one point the conversation went from the cost of living in different places in California to medical and recreational marijuana.
- Yep, Paul is in CA while Christmas is in CO.
- No one's in Kansas anymore.
- Laters!

Talk, talk, talk |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Redundant Rodents:
- Not a heck of a lot going on due to the inevitability of the Backdoor Cody Plan.
- In a conversation with Elena, Mark said his normal breakfast is ten eggs, a bowl of oatmeal and more.
- Oh my.
- No wonder he's such a big guy!
- Kevin is worried because Alex is telling Jason that Kevin was the flip vote.
- Paul told him he'd straighten things out with Jason and reminded Kevin of their $25,000 secret.
- Alex complained that Matt was drinking diet soda while he's a Have Not. He didn't know (he says). Then he put salad dressing on his slop, also not allowed, I guess.
- Apparently salad dressing might be allowed. They have a list of no-nos and it's not on the list.
- I find Alex's bathing suit almost akin to practically naked. It's not just me -- BB told her she can't be in the Diary Room wearing it. Heh. She complained that the guys can go in there shirtless.
- Ramses kind of admitted to Christmas that he didn't throw the Veto comp (as he agreed with Paul he would do). He told her that he made a promise to himself that he would never throw a comp and kept that promise.
- Paul and company aren't the only ones mad at Ramses over not throwing the comp and almost winning.
- Alex told Jason how mad she is about it. After all, had Ramses won, she might have been the one going home this week.
- Christmas's foot surgery will be happening Wednesday.
- That's a scary thought. I can only hope she remains in the game. But she certainly would have a valid reason to back out if she needs to do so.
- Cody smiled.
- I almost fainted.
- They're all sleeping as I get this posted.

BB19: Live Feeds into Sunday Evening - July 9
![]() |
He's surprised to still be in there |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Misfit Toys:
- The big worry on Paul's side and hope for Cody/Jessica is that there is some sort of Battle Back.
- I think it's a valid worry.
- I haven't really seen any gone besides Megan and Cameron out on the post-show interview circuit. Perhaps I just haven't looked since Jillian went.
- But if they're being sequestered, we should be able to pick up on that sooner than the house hamsters will.
- While Josh thinks he's the most picked-on disliked one in the house (and makes all those "victim noises" according to Cody), Ramses seems to take the prize for that.
- Since Kevin lied to Cody and Jessica about his vote, they're sure it was Ramses betraying them.
- And, Paul is ticked at him for almost winning veto when the deal was to throw it.
- Ramses isn't playing a great game. He's like a kid in a candy store -- great for him, but annoying to the adults around him.
- Watching Kevin, I think he's a huge observer kind of guy. The hamsters love his stories and his sense of humor, but dismiss gameplay. I dunno. I think his wheels are turning.
- Hmm? Did Cody quit his real life job for this? He made a comment to Jessica about needing to figure out what he's going to do for work (after he goes).
- Dang, I would have just asked for a personal unpaid leave of absence. Mind you, I'd never go on the show in the first place.
- Cody complained about all the men on the show intimidated by women.
- I'm surprised he hasn't started grunting like "Tim the Tool Man."
- The ants are back in the kitchen once again.
- Josh had a big conversation with the camera. He claims that he's really on the side of Alex and Jason, but had to stay in favor of the seven with his vote.
- Um, kiddo. That's called playing both sides of the house.
- Not long after that, Christmas worked more at molding her Josh puppet.
- I don't see any other outcome this week than Cody going home.
- I will cry no tears. I don't want him to think I'm making victim noises or being just a weak woman.

BB19: HoH Comp Results, Nominations Show Blog Party - July 9
It seems like so long ago! After all, the live feeds already have Power of Veto done and over with. As tonight's show airs, I'll be live-blogging and updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest. As always, the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there!
BTW - I won't be blogging the new Candy Crush game after the show. Game shows other than Jeopardy just aren't my thing at all.
Surprise, surprise! We're starting off with a recap! Oops ... forgot to mention and no room in my title -- the latest Den of Temptation will be shown tonight, too.
It's to the comp. Cody is upset that his people turned on him and kept Christmas. Paul is loving the chaos. Mark told Cody he voted to keep Christmas. He's the only one. We saw the Jessica/Christmas confrontation after eviction. Cody accuses Josh of lying to him. No hell hath a scorned Cody.
Cody looks very sullen in his role as ticket man. Elena tells us they can stockpile tickets. They're all doing that and handing them to Paul so that he can perfect a shot (and win). PAUL wins HoH!
Jessica can't imagine things getting any worse. Cody is sure that, unless he wins PoV, he will be going home. (Well, perhaps had he not done Custer's Last Stand during his HoH run, the first of the season, things would be very different.)
Kevin lies to Cody, telling him he voted to keep Jillian. A DR clip of Kevin telling us otherwise is good for a giggle. Cody is sure that Ramses and Josh flipped.
On a side note -- Cody's neck grinding or whatever is annoying.
Josh tries to make amends with Cody and Jessica. Cody is nasty to him. He tells us that Josh makes "victim noises." Jessica tells Josh he's like a little girl.
So, Josh goes off to cry. Raven, Mark. Dominque and Elena comfort him.
HoH room reveal. Jessica is in the Diary Room and doesn't want to go. The sound effect for Cody entering is a deflating balloon. Much editing of Cody glowering while the others clap.
Paul tells us he's going to do the opposite of Cody and let all know what he's doing. He proposes Matt and Raven, then backdoor Cody. Matt isn't thrilled. Dominque suggests pawns from the other side.
Den of Temptation time -- along with a consequence. Since Paul has already been tempted, he won't be invited in.
The Den has voodoo dolls of all the hamsters. Christmas ends up being the one to be offered the Ring of Replacement. She can play in any one veto comp sometime this summer, replacing a player. She accepts. Must curse three houseguests via their voodoo dolls turning them into VToads. She selects Jason, Cody and Jessica.
Paul makes a deal with Alex, telling her he wants to backdoor Cody. She thinks it best for her own game to cooperate. He then goes after Josh with the plan. Josh also thinks it best for his own game. Paul tells the DR that he knows everyone wants Cody to go is the reason they're all "trusting" him.
Voting for DoT - The Halting Hex. Um. Okay.
Ramses thinks this might be a good week for him to use his third nom curse because he knows that Cody is the target.
Time for nominations.
Ramses puts himself in the mix as the third nominee. If he wins PoV, he can take himself down with no replacement.
Paul nominates Josh and Al
Tex. Josh called him a meatball. Alex, no connection made with him.
They show Paul worried that Ramses will win PoV and the noms will remain the same.
Oh, the suspense ...
Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - July 9, 2017
Good afternoon! Since it's a SUNDAY, this is my weekly off television topic post taking a look at the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. This weekly post is done year in, year out -- usually in the morning hours. But I was lackadaisical this morning. Big Brother, the main draw for so many of you, only lasts about three months -- although sometimes it seems to be a lifetime. If you're here solely for the BB posts, please feel free to skip this post. You can find my latest BB19 posts by using this link.
I've been on a staycation this past week -- a much needed one. Of course, I wouldn't mind being on a permanent staycation called retirement. I'm still trying to figure out angles for achieving that. If nothing else, in two months I'll be able to take NJ Transit trains and buses for half-fare or less.
The big happening this week here was the annual Plainfield 4th of July Parade which goes right by my apartment building. Watching the parade reminded me how much Plainfield really does have to offer. There were many youth sports groups, the high school marching band, the robot from the robotics club, steppers, churches and various cultural organizations. It was a sea of diversity! Plainfield has indeed become a melting pot. Having so many folks so different from myself around me reminds me how much people are actually alike.
Speaking of which, I met a man in my apartment building elevator this morning. He told me he was visiting from Trinidad. No, not visiting the elevator ... visiting family in the building. Heck, my building itself probably has people for a dozen or more countries living here.
I really don't have a heck of a lot to say this week. Yes, I'm rested. But I could rest more! I'm including the photos I took of the parade this week in a Photobucket link. There are a ton of them -- the parade was almost four hours long! They may take a while to load if you have a slow connection.

The lilies are still in bloom
I've had my office chair for nearly 25 years and it's been in sad shape for about the last ten of those years. I ordered a new one from Amazon this week and put it together rather easily. It's not an expensive chair. It's not a fancy chair. But it does have good back support and arms that don't fall off. Ignore the catnip mouse on the floor, as well as the catnip. Vincent is a kitty slob!
Yes, Vincent has claimed my new office chair as his own! I ended up putting a towel over it to fend off cat fur! When I'm not in it, he usually is. No, I'm not going to buy one for him.

Finally ... |
Day lilies came to life this week |
Vincent and his new favorite chair |
Yes, Vincent has claimed my new office chair as his own! I ended up putting a towel over it to fend off cat fur! When I'm not in it, he usually is. No, I'm not going to buy one for him.
