I'm Jackie and I watch TV. I'm not proud. Bookmark the blog now as your source for live feed reports from inside the 'Big Brother' house! Come, join in on the fun ...
Although there was a smidgen of excitement and this Sunday was a lot more interesting than the ones in which they nap all day ... it was still on the quiet side.
The excitement, other than Rachel leaving and Brendon returning, came in the form of a new Saboteur video.
Blocked to the feeds, this one will probably expose a definite lie.
It warned of the comp on Monday.
They know that without a lockdown and huge set-up, if there is a comp indeed, it will be a mental one.
Apparently the saboteur said that the comp will change the course of the game.
Although they're nay-saying it a bit, they're worried that it's a HOH comp.
Ragan whined about slop and being a Have Not.
Brendon referred to Ragan as Mopy McMoperson.
They napped.
They played pool.
Matt suggested that the saboteur might have wanted everyone to go to bed early so he/she could do something.
Lane, Enzo and Hayden continue to have doubts about Matt.
Enzo and Hayden are still in with the Brendon "alliance" with Kathy as a peripheral member.
Brendon says he trusts Kathy.
Britney thinks that BB want Brendon and Rachel both in the show.
I think she's probably right. Allison Grodner thrives on that stuff.
Enzo will tell anyone who will listen (except Britney) that Britney should go up to replace Ragan.
They all studied for questions about this season, the house, etc.
Lane, Hayden and Enzo stayed up until the wee hours.
The show is delayed here on the East Coast due to golf. Once it starts, I'll post important updates in this entry. But the real fun is in the comments section. Everyone is invited to join in with your thoughts! Later tonight (or, worst case scenario, early in the morning), my full show review will be posted over on TV Squad.
Golf is still on at 8 PM ET. We still have to go through 60 Minutes. Grr.
9:24 PM ET and it's finally starting.
Brendon won HOH, named Britney, Matt and Ragan Have Nots. The bell rang when he rang it, but it must have been reenacted because he slammed it about five times with no result on the feeds.
The big 24-hour visit with Rachel is done and over. Hopefully we won't see her again in the house. Here's the latest on what's gone down since I last posted:
Rachel continued to talk with everyone.
She's definitely trying to get Lane, Enzo and Hayden to get in with Brendon and turn on Matt.
She kept telling Lane, Enzo and Hayden that Matt, Britney and especially Ragan have caused all of the issues in the house.
Meanwhile, she had another long talk with Ragan, they hugged and apologized to each other.
He was still condescending, but this time she listened. Of course, she had been in the Diary Room prior and they may have influenced her attitude.
Rachel had another blow-up with Britney over Britney telling her that Brendon thought the saboteur was Enzo.
Enzo thinks Rachel was sent in to stir up trouble.
So do I.
The Britney/Rachel fight lasted as long, if not longer, than the earlier Ragan/Rachel fight.
But Britney didn't call Rachel a parrot-face.
If Rachel's plan was to cast suspicion on Matt with the boys, it worked.
They were already a bit suspicious, but now even more so.
We know that part of Matt's suspicious not worrying about nominations behavior is he knows he can always get himself off the block with the diamond POV.
The Brigade, sans Matt, agreed that if Matt goes on the block against Lane this week, it will be Matt going home.
Matt himself wants Britney to go on the block and for her to go home.
Enzo thinks Brendon wants Matt out.
That's a definite possibility.
But it ain't gonna happen.
Rachel, who won't be seeing Brendon, wants to find a way to tell him what to do.
She told Kathy the Diary Room told her to find a creative way.
I suppose banner planes are out, eh?
Rachel also told Kathy that Brendon's best move would be to backdoor Matt.
But we all know ... ain't gonna happen. If he needs it to save himself, Matt will use that veto. I don't think he'll use it otherwise.
I want Brendon to put Matt on the block and for Matt to pull out the veto on the live eviction show just for the drama.
It would likely mean Britney going home if that happens since he can't put Regan (POV) or Brendon (HOH) on the block and everyone else is Brigade.
I don't think Matt's ready to turn on the Brigade just yet.
Then, a bit after 11:30 their time this morning, Rachel was out.
Brendon wasn't back yet.
After about 45 minutes and blocked feeds, Brendon was back.
It's very possible they got a few minutes to meet up with such a time lapse.
Brendon told them he opened Pandora's Box.
He was taken away and got a massage.
Now he wants to talk to each one alone to see what they say.
Stop on back at 8 PM ET for the show blog party!
Rachel and Ragan hug. I kept on looking for lightning in the sky.
It's Sunday morning, time to reflect back on the past week in words and photographs I've taken. If you're looking for Big Brother live feeds reports, a new one will be up a bit later this morning.
Like much of this summer, the week got off to a hot and humid start. This weather has really taken its toll on not only me, but on the grass and trees, too. Everything is so dry here. In the early spring we were saying, "Watch, we'll have drought conditions in the summer!" After an overabundance of rain at winter's end and into the spring, here we are with water usage restrictions in many parts of the state (New Jersey).
The last few days turned into great "open the windows and let the breezes in" weather. My cat Vincent loves to sit in the open windows (with screens, naturally!) and watch the action below. Plus, I'd rather have fresh air instead of air conditioned stale air any day. On the down side, because I had my windows open, last night the noise from my Riff-Raff neighbors annoyed me. Some people have no consideration for others. There is an intercom system. People have phones. You do NOT repeatedly pull up outside a building and SHOUT to get someone to let you in the building -- especially between the hours of 11 PM and 2:30 AM. I would have called the police but I figured by the time they got here, the jerks wouldn't be in the parking lot anymore.
Mind you, not all of my neighbors are like Riff-Raff. They're the only ones with kids running wild in the hallway and all kinds of noise these days. One of these days their door will break between the slamming of it and the pounding on it. The receiver for the bank has already put out several eviction notices. I hope the bunch in that apartment are next. Apparently they're very strict with the rent payments. One of the women from another floor complained to me "two days late and I got an eviction notice." I don't know. I mail my payment before the first each month so they have it by the first. Supposedly we have a grace period until the 5th to get it in.
For those who don't read my Facebook page, here's a video of a local rock group about the city in which I live, Plainfield, NJ. Although they used a photo of mine (along with some others from the 2009 library photo exhibition) without credit, it cracks me up. Thanks to local blogger Bernice for the link!
As you can tell, my week has been somewhat uneventful. Oh, well. Here are some of the photos I've taken during the week - clicking on an image will open it larger in a new window:
Urban Blight
This is detail of the deteriorating bricks of a building located on North Street near the Plainfield Train Station. It looks like one day this building will just crumble to the ground on its own. Since the rear is accessible to vagrants, this poses a danger to the surrounding inhabited buildings. Perhaps a plan should be enacted before it becomes yet another "emergency" with the city paying impromptu humongous fees to have it taken down ...?
Truck on the tracks!
I know the quality of this photo isn't great -- it was taken out of a dirty train window. I've been riding the train for a good five years now and last week was the first time I've spotted this. This NJT truck is actually driving ON the tracks with some kind of platform doohickey thingee (technical term) under it. Kewl!
On the early morning train With a coffee in my hand And an achin' in my heart And my pockets full of sand I'm a long way from home And I miss my loved bed so On the early morning train With only work to go ...
My apologies to Gordon Lightfoot -- "Early Morning Rain" Plainfield Train Station
"If you walk with Jesus ...
... he's gonna save your soul, gotta keep the devil way down in the hole." - Tom Waits, "Way Down in the Hole"
The Latina Jesus Ladies continue to spread the word on the corner of Watchung Avenue and North Street in Plainfield. One little blue um ... bear (?) seems to pay rapt attention.
Oh, this is SO wrong!
How could they abandon him? How could they desert him near the busy city street? What kind of world is this? He thought his soul was saved!
Just waitin' on a train
But looking in the other direction. Plainfield Train Station.
The evening skies
I took this shot from the lot of Supremo Supermarket on Tuesday evening. The days are getting shorter. I just want them to get cooler!
Just what are those piƱatas up to?
The piƱatas over produce in Supremo seem to be mating. We'll know for sure if I return and there's a whole slew of piƱatas running around!
Texas Weiners I
Watchung Avenue in Plainfield. I edited the photo to leave just the sign in color. I never heard of Texas Weiners until I moved to New Jersey. I didn't see any Texas Weiners when I visited Texas this past spring. Different Texas Weiners places are all over here in New Jersey. Not only that, but the correct spelling of "wiener" should be "i" before "e." Weird.
Hight Lights?
Where the fare increases went
NJ Transit is slowly replacing the between cities (not NYC commuter) buses with these fancy-schmancy new ones. Inside, they smell like new cars. They have two cameras inside -- one in the front by the door and driver, another all the way in the back with a DVR recording constantly. That is a great move. I often think that the bus drivers, alone dealing with drunks and fare-beaters, need some kind of "protection." True, the camera won't protect them per se, but it might make ne'er-do-wells have second thoughts before causing problems.
The buses also "speak." Each intersection is announced. Nifty keen. They don't rattle all over either. While I walk to the train in the mornings, I'll often take the bus home as it leaves me a block away from my apartment. My monthly train pass covers the bus trip, so it's no extra cost. I won't take it in the mornings to the train as I can't trust them to be on time. The train waits for no one. This is the bus I would take to my apartment. But I won't take it to Newark! The shot was taken at the intersection of Gavett Place and North Street in Plainfield.
As the crows sit
I watched them fly. They did NOT fly in a straight line thus debunking the myth of "as the crow flies." I wonder which one is Randall Flagg ...
The chicory continues to thrive
The grass is dying, but the chicory continues to be colorful and healthy. Plainfield Train Station.
Oh, pointy!
Monday's early morning sun
Over the Plainfield Train Station track lamps.
Same sun sans lamp lights
These photos were taken at about 6:30 AM on Monday morning and I didn't touch up the colors at all. Hot day ahead.
Eastern goldfinch munching a sunflower
The pack of goldfinches continue to hang around the neighborhood where the sunflowers are located. They like to take off when they see me take out the camera. Grr. The sunflowers themselves are starting to pass. East Front Street, Plainfield.
Are you going to feed me now?
Yes, Vincent. I've finished this. Let me get the poor starving cat his food.
Lane is worried and hopes he has the votes to stay.
OMG -- Ragan and Rachel are at it again as I get this typed up. I want to send them both to their rooms. Here are today's happenings from inside that Big Brother House of Loud Louts:
Kathy told Brendon something must be up because neither Matt nor Britney seem worried (neither is playing for veto).
Britney's not worried because Brendon promised her that he won't put her on the block or backdoor her.
Matt, we know, isn't worried because if he goes on the block, he just has to pull out that Diamond Veto and choose his own replacement.
The PoV comp went down fairly early. Ragan won.
Of course, it was blocked to the feeds.
Matt told Lane it's best to try to get Brendon to put up Kathy or Britney and that he'll have the votes to stay.
Ragan told Britney he'd never turn on her or Matt.
Britney told Ragan that Brendon thinks Enzo is the saboteur because he doesn't try hard at comps.
That's not true. Yes, it's true that he doesn't try at comps. However, Brendon thinks LANE is the saboteur.
It doesn't matter because Ragan is soured on Brendon with the nomination after he said he wouldn't put him up. He said he won't believe anything Brendon ever has to say.
The feeds got blocked for about forty-five minutes and then ... ack. She's back.
Rachel apparently entered the house with her, "Hey! Hey! I'm back, bitches!"
I normally don't use that language.
She irks me so much. Her laugh is like chalk on a chalkboard.
Right away she started a fight with Ragan.
He's actually no better than her. I prefer Kathy's way -- just walk away.
Meow.
While Rachel is in the house for 24 hours, apparently Brendon is locked in Pandora's Box (or taken somewhere).
Rachel has instructions that she has to ask each houseguest questions.
She talked a bit about the jury house -- limited alcohol, television with DVDs (no TV reception) in every room, very peaceful.
In questioning Enzo, she asked him about the goodbye message, why they could never be on the same side.
Enzo told her that he's in an alliance with Brendon and Hayden right now.
Rachel bought all of Enzo's lies (I tell you, a great social game the guy has -- he just really needs to win something) and hopes he's in the final two with Brendon.
Then it was onto Matt. She told him his goodbye message was mean because he mentioned Las Vegas.
His was sexist and a bit cruel. But the Vegas bit wasn't the problem.
Rachel told Matt that Britney and Brendon are scared to get their hands dirty and take charge.
Nice way to throw her love under the bus, eh?
She told him that she respects his gameplay and knows it was just that -- gameplay, not personal.
She also told him that once others are in the jury house they can only talk BB when there are cameras on them, otherwise it's a taboo subject.
Kathy was up to bat next.
Crying, crying.
Rachel told her that everything is Ragan's fault -- he's the root of all evil in the house.
@@
Kathy told Rachel that she, Enzo and Hayden miss her.
Way to go, Kathy!
On the other hand, Kathy told Rachel that she heard Ragan and Matt making fun of her (Rachel) yesterday.
Not cool, Kathy.
Enzo and Hayden had their own little debriefing about what they'll say or not say to Rachel.
Then Rachel and Ragan got into a very juvenile cat fight which never seemed to end in the backyard.
Meow. Hiss!
Rachel got really upset that Ragan called her an ugly parrot face with pink hair.
I told you it was very juvenile.
Rachel made homophobic comments at him first.
I just want to throw a raccoon with its non-retractable claws on both of 'em to shut them up!
Rachel, all upset when she was as bad (if not worse) than him, went to the Diary Room.
