Big Brother 16: HoH Conclusion, Nominations, BOB Show Blog Party - August 3
Tonight's episode better not have worthless filler! We get to see the end of the HoH comp, nominations, Battle of the Block and all kinds of scheming! As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news!
As always, the real party is down in the comments area -- come join in on the fun!
Nicole and Donny won the HoH comp in a tiebreaker.
Zach thinks he's using reverse psychology when he offers to Nicole to go up on the block. He doesn't think Nicole and Donny can work together. This is after they already talked about wanting to work together. Derrick lies to Nicole and tells her he would be on board to a backdoor Frankie plan.
Who wants to see my HoH room?
Caleb doesn't want to be nominated by Donny even though he nominated Donny in the past. Caleb says that if does put him on the block, he wants to be with another strong player, not someone like Victoria.
Donny tell both Derrick and Frankie he won't nominate them. Derrick wants Donny to put up losing players for the BOB so he will remain HoH.
Talking to Nicole and Hayden, he talks of putting up Caleb and Victoria. Nicole talks of putting up Zach and Jocasta with a backdoor plan of Frankie. Now, Donny won't put him up, but his eyes lit up at the thought of Nicole backdooring him!
Nominations today -- Nicole wants to shake the house up. Good. Nicole nominates Jocasta, then Zach. Jocasta, game move, love you, sorry. Nicole says Zach isn't a super villain. Donny nominates Caleb, then Victoria. Caleb put him up. We are square if you survive. Victoria, sorry but your blood is on many hands, now mine.
BOB time - Christine hosts. It's all kids toys. Donny and Nicole over dunking pools. It involves dominoes. They have to do the punishments they knock over. Domino Effect. Even if you win, you lose. You have to knock down three punishments. Caleb doesn't want to shave his head, but that looks like the most direct route.
Donny gets dunked and dethroned ... Caleb and Victoria win! Shave head, on slop for two weeks, Adam and Eve fig leaf bathing suits and tethered by a fig leaf vine for 48 hours.

I hope Donny can continue to smile |
Well, Christine winning the PoV isn't really the best case scenario. Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Who Knows What She'll Do:
- First, I need to get this off my chest. It's really bugging me to PAY for live feeds and have constant blockage when comps are on while the FREE (included in cable, etc.) TVGN at least shows the hamsters not in the comp locked up in the HoH room. Sure, I have them both. But I specifically PAY for the live feeds and feel that if any live feed content is offered, it should be on the actual live feeds if it's on TVGN.
- <./ rant over>
- Caleb and Victoria had a brief escape from their forced Adam and Eve togetherness for the comp.
- But it was only brief. They're stuck together by the vine once again.
- The comp sounds like it was fun for them. It was one of the ones they do individually, something to do with a zip line, trampoline and videos/pictures puzzles.
- Nicole lost to Christine by only 30 seconds.
- Victoria came in at the slowest. (And someone was REALLY slow if the comp took so long!)
- Zach said he tried to quit three times and threw puzzle pieces at the camera.
- For all his bravado, he apparently totally sucked at the comp.
- He was the worst one other than Victoria.
- Huh. Donny collects comic books. That makes him even more interesting in my eyes.
- Of course, Caleb had to burst in with how his brother owns one of the first Superman comics.
- I bet not. Those things are worth more than any of those immensely good-looking and popular Reynolds boys (just ask Caleb) could ever afford.
- How did this come up? The comp was based on comics. They all seemed pretty impressed with it.
- Christine quickly hung up the PoV necklace claiming it was heavy.
- And she thinks she would do fantastic in an endurance comp?
- Sheesh.
- Cody and Derrick told Zach to work on getting Nicole's favor, telling her he won't target her, and staying as close as he can with Christine. They told him they're worried Christine might use the veto to save Jocasta.
- Now Derrick and Cody seem to be faltering with their Hayden/Nicole alliance and thinking of working with Christine/Frankie.
- Geez. Pick a darn alliance and stick with it, boys!
- Their rationale (not the new alliance name, but the noun) is that while they know both Christine and Frankie are backstabbing them, they're higher on that alliance list than they would be trying to get numbers aligned with Nicole and Hayden. Cody think Donny would nominate him while, for some reason (heh), Derrick thinks that he himself is pretty safe with Donny. They're thinking of using the larger alliance until they need them no more.
- Christine told Derrick and Cody that she isn't planning to use the veto and she wants Zach to stay.
- I say, "So, save him with the veto!"
- Caleb, that most desirable bachelor in town, asks his dates to dinner at Taco Bell.
- @@
- He also thinks he'll get more dates due to being on the show. Alas, he's probably right. There are some stupid women out there.
- Zach kept practicing and revising his speech for the eviction plea.
- I think he ought to work on his plea to get saved by the veto!
- For all of his joking around, it turns out Zach spent hours researching at the library on what works and what doesn't for the casting call.
- Yet others get stopped on the street. Go figure.
- Nicole told Derrick that she's heard that Christine won't be using the PoV (through the grapevine -- not to be confused with what's tethering Adam and Eve together). If she does use it, Nicole still plans to put Frankie on the block.
- Oh, that would be nice!
- She said she's definitely NOT going to put Donny up. Good.
- Christine keeps telling Zach she does want him out, but that's not what she's saying to everyone else.
- That's about it for now. It's a LONG time before the PoV ceremony tomorrow!

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - August 3, 2014
Good morning! Welcome to my weekly Sunday morning reflection on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. If you're looking for Big Brother live feeds reports, you can find those posts at this link right here. The post you're currently reading is off television topic and a weekly post I make throughout the year on the blog. You can read it or not -- your choice!
Here in New Jersey, we had more than enough rain once again. Our reservoir levels have remained in the positive all summer long. It's a shame that we can't steer the rain off to areas in the West which are experiencing droughts! Overall, after a harsh winter, it's been a mild summer. Hey, I'm not complaining! I'm not a fan of the extreme heat. I'm not one to lay around on a beach sunburning and sweating. I don't like to sweat. Give me the 70s and I love it!
I was bitten by another mosquito this week, going into the full allergic reaction once again. Well, not to the point of anaphylaxis, but yet quite serious. I have no clue why all of a sudden I'm having these allergic reactions. I've been wearing Eau D'Off pretty much wherever I go, but forgot to put it on the morning I visited Mindowaskin Park in Westfield. I put it on after a while as I carry an Off "pen" in my pocketbook, but it was too late.
That's all for me for now. It's onto the photos! If you click on an image, it will open a new window and you can increase the size of the image twice by clicking on the magnifying glass on the lower right. If you click on the X to close that page, you end up right back here where you left off. I have two slideshows this week -- to make those full screen, just click on the diagonal arrow on the bottom right!
I hope everyone has a great Sunday and I'll be posting the latest BB16 live feeds soon!
Because the double-decker trains are so tall, they look quite short when seen from a distance. Don't let the optical illusion fool you -- this train is seven or eight long cars long! Thankfully for drivers, it's nowhere near as long as some of those freight trains which take forever to pass by.
I made a trip to Mindowaskin Park in Westfield this week. The ducklings I photographed at the beginning of summer are growing up! After the jump, I have a slideshow of my day in the park. This is just a sneak peek!
I don't have to go to the park to see cute bunnies ... they're all around my neighborhood. This is a young one resting in the grass.
This is another shot from the day in the park. Dragonflies were all over the place! I wonder why more Blue Dashers than other varieties seem to have wing damage of some sort. I've seen in in photos I've taken before. Their wings must be more fragile than other kinds of dragonflies, I guess.
Again, more than enough rain here this week (and it's raining more as I write this). This is the reflection in a huge puddle after the rain stopped one morning.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Bulletin - Power of Veto Winner - August 2
Christine won PoV. I'm not sure if the feeds are up yet. I had turned to BBAD as they had at least the non-players locked up in the HoH room. Since I don't have a screen cap of her with the veto necklace, I chose the most appropriate screen cap of her I have.
One good thing ... she will probably use it thinking Nicole might nominate Donny.
But Nicole should go for Frankie instead.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Saturday - August 2

Eve/Victoria puts on her make-up |
Here's today's happenings from inside that Big Brother House of Problematic Punishments:
- Donny knows that "people" (ie: Frankie) are tossing his name in as a replacement nominee. He told Cody as much.
- Victoria is finding out why Caleb was a Have Not due to lack of activity on his FitBit. He really doesn't move much unless he's playing pool. He also likes to nap a lot.
- Donny was worried because Frankie slept in the HoH room with Nicole.
- Hayden told him that she's still on board with the back door if it can be done, but Nicole was scared to sleep alone up there and there were no other takers.
- Nicole thinks that Donny is really smart because he used the word "osmosis."
- Oh my. It doesn't take much to impress her, does it?
- Oh geez ... Frankie really needs to detach himself from that HoH room! He joked about how he almost grabbed the key on the way out due to habit.
- If I were HoH, he would NOT be in there.
- They had the veto players pick blocked to the live feeds. But, as always, we found out anyway -- the additional players are Caleb, Victoria and Christine.
- Hmm ... not ones I particularly wanted to see up there.
- Frankie will host. Again.
- Heh. With all kinds of ruckus going on, Donny said it would be a good idea if they did a grown-up Big Brother.
- I know exactly what he means. Half the time the hamsters are yelling and shouting. Not in anger, mind you. They're just damn loud.
- Nicole told Victoria after her punishment with Caleb is over, she can come up and sleep in the HoH room with her.
- I hope Frankie doesn't think that's an invite for a threesome.
- Frankie and Christine really want Nicole to backdoor Donny.
- Ain't gonna happen, kiddos!
- Nicole or BB announced the Have Nots (blocked to the feeds) -- Hayden, Cody and Frankie.
- I don't recall a vote, but they also got "Pea Lime Pie" to go with the slop.
- Frankie is upset that he was named a Have Not.
- Too bad, so sad.
- Nicole told Hayden that Christine told her there's an all guy alliance.
- She did tell her that.
- Isn't that what started the Amber ouster?
- Won't it work on Christine?
- Please?
- Hayden wants to change the name of the Quad Squad.
- Victoria claims that Hayden stretched her shorts.
- He did.
- She missed the dance he did in them last night. Heehee.
- The Quad Squad which might be the Rationale now agreed that if the PoV is used by anyone on either nominee, Frankie goes up (and goes home).
- They think, without Frankie, Zach will be like a lost puppy.
- I dunno. He's kind of like a puppy with Frankie around! You know puppies -- into everything, running around, acting goofy.
- Zach, Frankie and Christine are also amazed that Donny used the word "osmosis." Why, he must be a doctor!
- @@
- Or a professor!
- @@
- Hmm ... why is Derrick trying to convince Cody that Nicole is working against them?
- Uh-oh. They're losing trust in both Hayden and Nicole!
- But, wait!
- Cody told Derrick that Nicole told him that Christine suggested Derrick or Cody as replacement nomination prospects.
- (She did.)
- So now, who do they trust? Can't trust Christine! Please go back to trusting Hayden and Nicole!
- Cody says his gut feeling is that Frankie and Christine are playing them.
- Duh. Y'think?
- As I get this posted, the PoV is still on and the live feeds are blocked.
- I'll let you know when I know.
- Unless I fall asleep again, that is. I told you I miss having straight theme music because I can nap to that and awaken when I hear voices. These Jeff highlights and interviews are ruining my naps!
