Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Monday night into Tuesday - August 26

Walking the yard

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Misery:
  • Frankie thinks that Nicole and Victoria are "dangerous" together. He would prefer Nicole leave this week rather than Donny because Nicole put him on the block.
  • Frankie doesn't think Donny would put him on the block.
  • All Frankie has to do is convince Derrick that Donny staying is best for their games and the Team America deal. Frankie doesn't think America would have picked Donny for the team if he were a bad person. They (we) must like him.
  • Derrick, on the other hand, knows that Donny is the only one who realizes that Derrick's been calling the shots all summer long. Donny is the biggest threat in the house to Derrick's game.
  • OMG - These hamsters need to stop randomly yelling and screaming. I have to keep jockeying my volume up and down. They're going to scare my neighbors.
  • Donny said he likes it when "normal" people are on shows like Survivor so that fans can relate to them.
  • I agree. I wish more "normal" people were on Big Brother, too. Instead, we get over the top "characters" like Frankie.
  • Meanwhile, Nicole and Victoria grow closer.
  • Heh.
  • Lots of playing pool. I guess I'd rather watch them play pool than chess. But, geez. They should all be experts time the summer is over.
  • Christine, the staunch (and raunchy!) Get Donny Out Person, told Derrick she thinks Donny would win it all if he made the final two.
  • Derrick seems like he might be wavering a bit.
  • Only Frankie, Derrick, Christine, Caleb and Victoria can vote this week. Caleb will do whatever Frankie wants. Victoria will do anything Derrick wants. Hmm ... maybe the vote could flip.
  • They wouldn't need Christine.
  • But then Donny would be stuck there lonely and sad for yet another week.
  • I honestly don't think he can make it to the end. I personally wonder if prolonging his misery isn't the right thing to do. It's a wonder he hasn't gone bonkers.
  • Frankie told Derrick that he thinks the Diary Room hinted at him that saving Donny might be best.
  • They can't tell them to do things -- the hamsters will do whatever they want. But they can, through their questions, hint and plant seeds. Many of the previous hamsters said that they could tell be the questions asked how some of the things are going on the show. That's the extent of production meddling despite what you might read elsewhere.
  • We'll see. I just don't know what good it will do. Donny has too much opposition to get to the end. An endurance comp would probably knock him out second at this point (Victoria first).
  • Caleb (remember Caleb, the cowboy Eminem stalker dude?), said that if he wins HoH, he wants to put Nicole and Christine on the block.
  • So, Caleb thinks it will be Donny out this week.
  • Cody told Derrick that Frankie is trying to get him to save Donny.
  • Um. Cody can't save anyone at this point. He has no vote and there won't even be a tie-breaker vote as it's an uneven number of hamsters voting.
  • He has no real power at this point.
  • Victoria is getting jealous about Christine spending time with Derrick.
  • @@
  • She has a real crush going on there while Christine is a bit of a sleaze who probably will caress anything in pants. (Especially named Cody.)
  • As I get this posted it doesn't seem as 100% positive that Donny will go home this week.
  • However, I still think it's a very very strong possibility.
  • It would probably be a good thing for his psyche to get out of there. I can't imagine what he's going through being constantly targeted and being so different from the others.

Is she staying or going?

She has a serious crush, he doesn't

Cody, pool shark

Is it really that cold there?

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Monday daytime/PoV ceremony - August 25

He's got the power ... until he doesn't

Well, yeah. The Power of Veto Ceremony was today. Like much else as of late, it was predictable -- the nominations remain the same. Here's what other stuff happened today inside that Big Brother House of Watching the Grass Grow:
  • Derrick hopes his wife doesn't watch the live feeds because he curses too much.
  • He does. Mr. Potty Mouth needs to lose the F word from his vocabulary. That's a habit and he needs to break it!
  • Derrick is also thinking of shaving his little beard-thingee he has growing on his face. He likes the look of it, but it itches.
  • I can't imagine how Donny's beard must feel!
  • Donny did his morning routine.
  • Victoria says she's feeling somewhat better.
  • Cody is kicking himself for going over memory questions with Frankie.
  • After the veto ceremony, Donny pointed out that he's been on the block for most of the season.
  • Alas, I think this is the time that will do him in.
  • BB did him wrong from the get go by casting him as the sole older person, plus the country simple life background. He's had to fight to stay in the house from the start. If I were him, I'd be just about at rage stage right about now. He has nothing to do, nothing to read or watch, doesn't have a great social game although he's certainly a likable guy. He'll probably be personally much better off with Jocasta, Zach and Hayden.
  • Derrick told Christine he sleeps because he's bored.
  • She told him that she hardly ever sleeps and the house has made her realize she has a very active imagination.
  • @@
  • Christine being in the house make me realize that some married women can't keep their hands off men who aren't their husbands!
  • I guess I already knew that.
  • She just reinforces it.
  • Victoria told Nicole that she's heard talk that Donny will be the target.
  • Sigh. Yes.
  • Derrick told Frankie he thinks their skit was good enough for the Team America mission.
  • While I'd like Donny (and even Derrick) to grab another 5k, I don't think so.
  • Of course, I don't want Frankie to get another 5k. I'd rather he just vanish from my monitor and my TV screen. Y'know, get abducted by aliens or something. Poof! Where'd he go?
  • I'd like that.
  • Christine also confirmed to Nicole that she's voting to keep her -- she's wanted Donny out since the first week.
  • Victoria really worked to make a tofu dish for Donny and Nicole (Have Nots) to eat. They liked the flavor, but she couldn't do anything about the texture.
  • Donny likened tofu to the suet you hang on trees for the birds.
  • Lots of napping going on.
  • Well, except Christine. She's always awake, always thinking, always creeping me out.
  • Nicole hates being on slop and tofu. She doesn't want to eat. Donny told her she must force herself because the next comp could very well be "the wall." (Endurance.)
  • YAWN.

Jury house would be better, really.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Monday - August 25

Exciting

During the daytime hours yesterday, nothing really worth reporting happened. Since it was Sunday, no comps, nothing really to do except nap, outright sleep, lounge about, sunbathe and use the photo booth. As evening approached and these nocturnal hamsters came more to life, there was a bit of talk. Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Hamster Stew:
  • As the norm for the season, Donny was up first and followed his usual morning routine of eating, exercise, cleaning and lounging.
  • A few days back Derrick and someone else (either Cody or Frankie) talked about how OCD Donny's entire life is. They're right. Donny starts out each day with the same routine except if a lockdown prohibits it. And, in the past, he's described having a routine daily in his "real life."
  • Of course, Caleb thinks it's because of Donny's past in special services.
  • @@
  • Others are noticing that Caleb never does anything for himself -- doesn't do his own laundry, doesn't cook his own food.
  • Team America worked more on their silly skit with each of the hamsters playing other hamsters doing diary room sessions. (Which is more bearable than Frankie's Broadway show idea.)
  • Derrick and Frankie talked about how production doesn't seem too happy with their play idea.
  • Nicole thanked Cody for the Scorpion showing he invited her and Donny to on Saturday night. They seemed to all like the show.
  • But, since it's a new CBS show, they're not about to say they don't like it!
  • There was more outsider yelling over the fence -- this one said Frankie was the Saboteur. They got sent inside.
  • Donny's pretty sure that he'll get the boot this week.
  • He told Nicole he'd like to go to college and be someone.
  • Huh. He's someone already!
  • Victoria is worried about how she's being portrayed on the show.
  • Sentiment is finally turning against Christine -- both Cody and Caleb talked about how she needs to go even before Victoria. She floats from one side of the alliance to the other and could be more of a detriment to their individual games. Victoria is more of just there without a sneaky component to her actions.
  • Of course, that could be remedied, I say! Cody! You could take someone down from the block and backdoor Christine! I'd love that! Many show fans would love it, too!
  • Sigh.
  • He can't hear us.

Big Brother 16: HoH and Nominations Show Blog Party - August 24

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

Good evening! The show will be starting on time here on the East Coast. A miracle, I say! As it airs, I'll update this post with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest.

But you know where the party is, right? Let's head to the comments area!

Nicole is back. Donny is happy. He fills her in on some of the happenings.

A segment on Donny flashbacks talking to others trying to get them to flip, done in odd low saturation. Looks weird. Make them stop that.

HoH comp time, lace up your gloves. They're all in boxing gear. Boxing event over six rounds, figure out day event happened on. They punch buttons to come up with the correct day of the events. Punching for Days!

Nicole eliminated in the first round. Victoria out next. Christine out. Interesting, all three girls out in a row! Caleb out next. Derrick out. It's between Cody and Donny. Sigh. As we live feeders know, Cody wins.

Derrick is happy as Cody won't nominate his best bud, plus no blood on his hands. Nicole is devastated.

Who wants to see my HoH room? And blah-blah-blah ...

Nicole tries to talk to Cody. He wants Donny out. But he's not really taking the bait entirely. He files it away for future reference. In talking with Derrick, Cody tells him he'd honestly rather Nicole stay in the game than Christine. They both get off on an anti-Christine tangent. But neither suggest anything other than a Donny/Nicole nomination for this week.

Donny, in a bad move, wakes Cody up to plea his case. Donny warns Cody the others will keep Victoria over him (Cody) as everyone could win against her. He offers to work with Cody. Derrick tried to feel Donny out to no avail.

That's not to be confused with Christine trying to feel Cody up, of course.

Nominations time -- Cody nominates Nicole and Donny. Nicole, loves her, be amazing. Donny, lot of chatter, immediate threat.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - August 24, 2014

Good morning! Welcome to my weekly off television topic post which reflects on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. There is no television content in this post and it's something I do weekly year 'round. If you're looking for Big Brother content, my latest can be found right here at this link.

Another week down. Another week with nothing really exciting going on -- just working, blogging and giving a certain cat his required devotion. Here's some quickie random thoughts on the week:
  • I really really need a vacation. I have two four-day work weeks ahead of me. But that's not good enough. I want vacation.
  • Without endurance comps and a predictable season at hand, BB isn't as financially good for me this season as in the past. Few people are motivated to donate via Paypal although the ad income is just about the same as other years. Yet I'm still working as much at it. Sigh. If I didn't enjoy the community I built, I'd be tempted to give it up. It's almost like having a full-time job atop a full-time "real" job. I'm so tired!
  • It seemed to rain a lot this week. We had another one of those bizarre three-hour long thunderstorms on Thursday night. I don't recall having that long of a thunderstorm ever, yet we've had more than a few of them this year.
  • I, for one, am enjoying a rather mild temperature summer. Alas, they're predicting a bad winter for around here. I can take the cold -- I know how to dress properly. I just can't deal with ice and snow on the sidewalks and streets!
  • I still have no clue who the new upstairs neighbor is. Nor do I have any idea male or female. It seems to be one person -- always a plus in my mind! No kids (which I don't know why they let people with children in one bedroom apartments when their own rules say no more than two people in a one bedroom). I hear footsteps and occasional music. I don't recognize the music. It's not Mexican Polka, nor classic rock or classical. It has a beat. I'm thinking either pop or rap played rather low. He/she hasn't flooded my bathroom. All is good.
Onto this week's photos -- clicking on an image will lead you to my photobucket page of the image. From there, you can make the image larger twice by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom right of the screen.

The I See Dead People saga continues

People really shouldn't sleep near me on the train! This guy is so cool that his bike has blue tires. I noticed his legs are shaved. I would guess for aerodynamics. Of course. I'm sitting in the vestibule level handicapped/bike/etc. section as I had a bunch of stuff I bought at Target with me and I didn't want to lug it up and down the train stairs. Although the seats are padded there, the seats in the main section of the cars are more comfortable. Raritan Valley Line, NJ Transit.

My ride home

It's Saturday evening and I'm home. Well, not really home. I might seem to spend a lot of time at the Plainfield Train Station, but I certainly don't live there!
