Big Brother 20: HoH Winner, Nominations and Slur Show Blog Party - July 22
As the show airs here, I'll be live-blogging it -- refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Please feel free to join in on the discussion!
Please remember that the show blog posts are spoiler-free! While the PoV has already happened in the house, that won't air until Wednesday. Also, while I watched the "slur" conversation unfold between JC and Bayleigh, I didn't post on it mainly because I wish to keep this blog slur-free. I don't even like "masked" slurs. Please keep that in mind while commenting.
Oh my. We got the warning that the hamsters don't reflect the views of CBS and on and on. Have I just missed that before or is it for tonight?
We start off with the recap.
Okay, we're to the HoH endurance comp left off on Thursday night. We keep reliving the Rockstar rant over Brett. Instead of the comp, we see more of the chaos from the Brett/Rockstar feud. Back to the comp.
Goop is falling on them, as well as rain. Tyler is still hiding that his vote was for Winston to go. Sam tells us she wants to win to have some kind of control over her power app.
Rockstar is out of the comp first. She cries on Scottie. Fessy is out next. He doesn't cry on Scottie. Then Brett is out to Rockstar's delight. Byaleigh, Rachel, Angela and Haleigh all gone. JC gone.
Sam, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Kaycee still in the comp. Kaycee wants Kaitlyn to fall before she will. Kaitlyn down, then Kaycee jumps. Sam is urging Tyler to jump and promises she won't put him up. Tyler jumps down.
SAM is the new HoH!
Rockstar is still upset. Sam tells us that she's already made her mind up what she will do. Rockstar cries some more and insists to Bayleigh that Brett lied. Now she just wants to go home. Wah. Wah. Bayleigh is good with her, but tells us Rockstar needs to pull herself together.
Oh, we get a segment with JC and Tyler planning on setting up Kaitlyn as the Winston vote. He convinces Fessy of Brett's lie. Fessy is SO gullible!
Then Kaitlyn kidnaps Fessie. She tells him that she only trusts him and Tyler. She cries. She cries some more when he tells her the numbers don't add up.
And we're into the HoH room reveal. Her dog Hogan is amazing-looking. Sam tells them they don't need to freak out, no one-on-ones, she knows what she wants to do, rules say she doesn't tell anyone, no one allowed in her room this week unless she lets them in.
Now Kaitlyn is thinking Sam's power changed the votes. Tyler just acts confused and like she might be right when she told him!
Into Rockstar harassing Brett again. She wants to show the house how ridiculous it is by herself being ridiculous. Girl needs mental help. She bangs on pots and pans and makes a fool of herself. Meanwhile Brett (whom I really don't like all that much) takes it all in stride. In a DR bit, he tells us she wasn't just bothering him ... she was annoying the whole house and the person who does that is more likely to go home.
Onto the slur talk. Bayleigh asks if JC is a dwarf. He says that's a genetic condition. She asks him about "midget" after he says he's just short. He says that term is as bad as the racial slur for black folks. She gets upset that he said the full word. They smooth it out after much circular talk on both sides.
Nominations time -- Sam nominates Haleigh, then Kaitlyn. Because they take the most from the house and contribute the least, don't care how they treat the men in the house -- opposite of female empowerment -- and they don't respect themselves. In the DR she tells us she doesn't like them hanging all over the guys to use them.
Big Brother 20: Live Feeds into Sunday - July 22
JC Two Hats |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of a Krying Kaitlyn:
- After I posted last night, I found out that Haleigh actually picked Fessy as HG Choice to play the veto.
- And, he promised to take her off the block if he won it.
- Now, knowing that she chose him, it quasi-explains the latest Kaitlyn Death Spiral.
- She knows that it's totally unlikely that Fessy will save her from the block.
- Supposedly, it's a secret that Fessy will save Haleigh.
- But Kaitlyn seems to have kicked up her psychic powers and knows that, even if Haleigh stays on the block, she (Kaitlyn) is likely to be evicted.
- Sam would like Kaitlyn out this week.
- Poor Fessy is getting badgered by Kaitlyn.
- A force field would be nice to bounce her away.
- She's also all over Tyler.
- Both are tolerating her Needy Nellie ways. In that aspect, both are better people than I would be.
- Kaitlyn is so frantic that she even tried to self-evict.
- Y'know, I should feel sorry for her. But I don't.
- She uses that gurgly voice that people have said is "vocal fry." But I read up on that -- it's supposed to be low register. Her gurgle is all high-pitched and extremely annoying.
- I've noted that Sam and Tyler are a bit alike in dealing with fellow hamsters.
- Both come across as caring, even when they're working against someone.
- Sam is more sincere and will blatantly discuss the faults of a hamster to that hamster in an advice sort of way. But her mind is already made up and she will do whatever she has to do.
- Tyler plays nice and really seems to listen and console a hamster in need. But then he will manipulate and stab 'em in the back so that they never even see it coming or going.
- More hamsters are catching onto Tyler. However, he's not their focus this week.
- Rockstar continued on her Brett rant.
- Bayleigh, talking with Fessy, told him that he begged to play the veto and now he's all upset. Supposedly he wanted to play to keep himself safe. I can see that. But now he has a choice to make!
- The options are: Don't use the veto and Kaitlyn gets evicted. Use the veto to save Haleigh and (probably) Rockstar goes up against Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn gets evicted (although of the two, I might prefer Rockstar go ... on the fence with those two). Save Kaitlyn, Rockstar goes up against Haleigh and Rockstar gets evicted.
- Any way he plays it, it's his own alliance buddies and someone would feel alienated.
- Well, that's a fine pickle you got yourself into, Fessy!
- Fessy talked to Haleigh, telling her he will use the veto to save her.
- She didn't have to cry all over him to get him to say it.
- As a matter of fact, she told him that she would understand if he didn't use the veto if that was better for his own game.
- They both think that if he saves Haleigh, Rockstar will go up in her place and Kaitlyn would go home.
- Meanwhile, Sam has a plan. She knows what her plan is, but won't tell Tyler much more than she knows what she's going to do.
- No matter what she does, she will tell the nominees about the chance to come back. She hopes that will calm some hurt feelings.
- Bayleigh cried. She talked to Sam and Tyler about feeling like everyone treats her like she's not approachable and "barky." Sam told her that it's probably because of her relationship with Swaggy.
- If Bayleigh had her druthers, her choice of allies would be Fessy, Tyler and Sam. She's grown to really dislike the women in her own alliance.
- I can't really blame her there although Haleigh is definitely making strides to improve her behavior as of late.
- Thanks to Sam, that is.
- Kaitlyn thinks she's targeted because she's such a big threat -- making big moves, winning HoH, on and on.
- No, Kaitlyn. It's more because you're annoying. You hang all over whatever guy you need, you manipulate, you allow yourself to be manipulated in your need for approval, you lie and don't own up to it, you think you're some sort of calming influence when you create chaos, you're just so NEEDY. Oh. And you cry so much.
- Kaitlyn kept badgering Fessy to save her with the veto.
- Bayleigh worked on building her relationship with Sam.
- Kaitlyn got upset because Rockstar and Bayleigh were wearing Swaggy t-shirts.
- Heh.
- The backyard opened again. Oh, yay!
- Once again, Haleigh told Fessy that she would understand if he doesn't save her with the veto.
- He told her once again he plans on saving her, but keep it quiet until it goes down.
- And there ya go ...
Well, Scottie should be safe ... |

Big Brother 20: Live Feeds, Power of Veto Saturday - July 21
Haleigh really tries to improve |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Dilemma Dawgs:
- Before the veto players were picked, Fessy said he didn't want it. He said if he won it, he wouldn't use it.
- That's because he says his two best friends now in the house are the nominees -- Kaitlyn and Haleigh.
- Kaitlyn kept at him and at him. If she pulled HG Choice, she wouldn't choose him if he wasn't going to save her.
- He acquiesced a bit, but made no outright promises.
- When the feeds returned from being blocked for the veto players pick, sure enough ... Fessy is playing for veto.
- JC and Rockstar are the other two chosen.
- Leading into the feed block for the comp, Kaitlyn was still pressuring Fessy to save her if he wins.
- He kept telling her the house didn't want the nominations to change.
- She kept at him anyway.
- He finally told her he would probably save Haleigh.
- Heh.
- Well, guess what?
- FESSY won the Power of Veto.
- He's between a rock and a hard place on this one.
- He's had Bayleigh in his ear about the evils of Kaitlyn for days now.
- I think he knows Kaitlyn uses people (men) to keep herself safe.
- And she's a whole lotta needy, too!
- Meanwhile, Haleigh has taken Sam's words to heart and is trying to help more around the house. She's also trying to distance herself a bit from the flirting.
- Kaitlyn is running around threatening to go after Fessy if he doesn't take her off the block.
- Then she hugs him and tells him she loves him.
- Nutcase.
- Rockstar is more concerned who would go up as a renom if Fessy uses it.
- Maybe she's a bit psychic herself and know her name has been thrown in there.
- She thinks Brett should be the renom because he "hasn't acknowledged me as a person since I walked through the door."
- Well, yeah. I'm sure that's the impetus to backdoor Brett in Sam's eyes, too!
- Sam let Fessy hide alone in the HoH room listening to music behind the locked door. She won't allow anyone in there but him while he's there.
- Kaitlyn is going around telling tall tales that she and Fessy agreed this morning that she would throw the comp to him if he would save her.
- Now, that doesn't even make sense.
- If she could win and save herself, do it!
- This should be a Needy Kaitlyn Fest until the veto meeting on Monday.
- Hooray.
- Not.

Big Brother 20: Live Feeds into Friday Night - July 20
Back in a secure place |
Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Foolish Ferrets:
- As you know from my previous posts: Sam won HoH and her nominations today were Kaitlyn and Haleigh.
- Apparently in her speech she said something about Haleigh needing to respect herself and behave accordingly.
- I thought Kaitlyn was the esteemed life coach?
- Heh.
- Rockstar and Kaitlyn sulked about Sam nominating two women. Y'know, as a woman, she should have worked to get the men out of the house!
- (No matter whether some of the men might be better for her own game.)
- Rockstar continued to rant on about Brett.
- Now she thinks he must be related to someone (on staff?) because he gets away with everything.
- @@
- Mind you, I don't care for Brett. But, if not for jerks, BB would be boring!
- As much as I enjoy Sam in the house, if it were a house full of Sams, I'd have nothing to report!
- But it's great to have a single Sam!
- Kaitlyn told Bayleigh she would never campaign against Haleigh.
- We'll see how that goes if the nominations remain the same.
- I doubt Bayleigh will use her power this week. She is increasingly annoyed by Rockstar, Haleigh and Kaitlyn (not necessarily in that order). She's still close with Fessy, but is sorry she linked in with those girls.
- Tyler certainly won't have to use his power unless Bayleigh uses hers and puts him on the block. That's doubtful.
- Scottie told Rachel his only way to stay in the game is to win comps, otherwise he's lost. He says he's out of the loop.
- I just think he's not (A) mean enough and (B) doesn't have the people skills to deal with not being mean.
- Part of Sam's reasoning for the nominations is that neither of them contribute to the house -- they just make a mess and let others clean it up.
- The other part had to do with being disrespectful of others and of themselves.
- Oh my.
- She saw Haleigh going to Scottie "playing with his heart" and Kaitlyn doing the same when "she has a man at home."
- Not anymore, it seems!
- But they don't know that.
- Heh. Sam said if she needs a renom it might be Rockstar because "she can't control herself so early in the game."
- Kaitlyn begged Fessy to save her if he wins the veto.
- He wouldn't commit. He gave the impression he'd rather not play for veto at all.
- Kaitlyn had a brief talk with Sam. It didn't really go anywhere.
- Haleigh had a longer talk with Sam. It may have sunk in. We'll just have to see when the next male HOH happens, will she jump in the bed and lead him on?
- Tyler and Sam had a better talk. She told him that after the veto ceremony and nominees are "locked" in place, she will tell both nominees of her power and that the evicted will have a chance to come back.
- JC said he can't deal with Rockstar anymore for now. He's been trying to calm her down. But he's reached his breaking point. He's no Sam.
- That's it for now!
Do we know her? |
Ha! Rockstar's girl alliance, huh?!?! |
To cry or to mediate, that is the question |
Will surely be a target again |
Will she listen to Sam's advice? |
The loving HoH |
I will haunt your dreams. Nitey-nite! |

Big Brother 20: Nominations Bulletin - July 20
Welp, the nominations are in. Sam, who made up her mind and didn't want to be swayed by one-on-one meetings of any kind, has spoken.
Kaitlyn and Haleigh
Let the tears (and cheers) begin.
