Big Brother 12 - Episode 3 Blog Party

big brother,jackiestvblog

I know, I know ... I haven't posted a live feeds report on the day's happenings yet. But they're SO in the doldrums in the house that there is little to report. The only thing which happened was another saboteur video appearance, this one mentioning that "I escaped from being evicted this week." Could be Brendon, could be anyone.

Anyway, the show is about to start here on the East Coast. Everyone is welcome to join in down in the comments area. The more, the merrier! Late tonight, my full review of the show should be up on TV Squad and this post will be updated to reflect major events as it airs.

Brendon won POV.

The saboteur appeared again -- said two in the house are lifelong friends and it's easy to figure it out.

Brendon saved himself and Annie is on the block in his place.

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into Wednesday Morn, July 14

The show schedule with shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday is providing way too much downtime once again. At least, with the show we have something to talk about! Boring hamsters -- that's why I didn't post late last night. Here would have been my post:
  • Kathy wore a shirt I didn't really expect from her. Rachel, yes. Kathy, no. The hot water seemed to be doing a job on the camera mirror by the sink.
  • Enzo, unlike Lane, seems to think a man's place can be in the kitchen as he made dinner for all (except Andrew). Matt, another man, helped prepare the salad.
There you go. It didn't get all that much more interesting overnight with a few exceptions.
  • They had a pool tournament. It's better than the chess games as they talk, but give me a break! I wouldn't mind at all if the pool table and chess game vanished.
  • BB (or the saboteur) has planted a weird beeping doohickey between the Have Not room and the one bedroom. The camera kept focusing on it.
  • Ragan heard the noise and looked for it.
  • He seemed to be trying to figure out Morse Code or something similar with its beeps.
  • After Ragan left the Have Not room, the camera kept focusing on a knotted rope. I don't know if it was there before or not. That room's a nightmare.
  • Andrew and Kathy did the after dinner clean-up. Everyone else just took off and left the mess.
  • After a Diary Room session, Annie continued her campaign. I believe it's falling on deaf ears although everyone is being polite to her.
  • Annie talked. And talked. And then she talked some more. Had the house not been dead set against her in the first place, they would be by now even though she has some really valid points citing why Rachel should be evicted instead.
  • Shut up, Annie. Now. Please!
  • Britney thinks Brendon should be the next out after Annie. Of course, that's her secret ally's target, too.
  • What secret ally? Hayden.
  • The beeping started again when Andrew turned out lights.
  • The beeping is driving him bonkers. Well, not "kill people" bonkers, but bonkers nonetheless.
  • Brendon and Rachel had some undercover operations.
  • There was a lot of sex talk again.
  • Annie shaved Hayden's toe hair. Ew.
  • They think the beep is coming from a bad microphone in the house.
  • They're wrong.
  • They all went to bed.
In my downtime of boredom, I got looking into the Future Funk kids on America's Got Talent. No wonder the older one (age 9) is so good -- he's the youngest member of Rock Steady Crew who have been featured on America's Best Dance Crew. Future Funk has also appeared on the streets of Las Vegas with Haspop, another contestant on AGT.

These kids are the cutest thing which has happened to hip hop ever. Well, there are those Kia hamsters ...

Doo-dah-dippity! Sorry for the excursion away from BB, but I be bored!

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Tuesday Daytime, July 13

As Enzo put it, today's been a day of napping and eating. There's been very little gameplay other than Annie constant talking. Here's the skinny on the happenings in that Big Brother House of Boring Buffoons:
  • They all napped a lot. If they didn't stay up all night, they wouldn't nap the day away.
  • They all ate a lot. No one is on slop this week.
  • Lane really, really doesn't trust (or like) Brendon.
  • Even though splitting up the power couple would probably be wiser, it still looks like Annie will be evicted almost unanimously on Thursday.
  • There hasn't been another Saboteur video appearance.
  • Annie just won't shut up.
  • Now they're talking that Annie NEEDS to leave due to her stability (or lack thereof).
  • They played a game in which they decided sexual deeds for guaranteed second place, the win, a million dollars, etc.
  • I refuse to list their scenarios. I try to keep this blog at least to a non-porn level!
  • Now they're eating again.

Brendon went for a boob job in the sex for the win game.

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into Tuesday Dawn, July 13

Hayden is always doing odd things with his lips and mouth. I think he's one of those tobacco spitters if he had tobacco to spit.

After the activity earlier in the evening, things quieted down. Here's the scoop:
  • Annie resumed her campaigning against Rachel and didn't kill anyone.
  • Everyone listened to her politely.
  • The vote is almost surely going to evict Annie.
  • Annie didn't sleep with Brendon (which has been the case since they entered the house -- Rachel is in the Have Not room).
  • Instead, Monet took over that spot.
  • The Brigade played pool and schemed.
  • Brendon cooked a late chicken dinner for all. Kathy proclaimed it better than at a restaurant.
  • Outside at the pool table, the Brigade wondered about a swim coach who seems to be a chef, making all kinds of fancy dishes.
  • There is no food comp this week. The Have Nots still stay in their room, but are now allowed to bring in pillows.
  • Ragan and Kathy spoke about how bad the tension is in the house.
  • Matt smiled a lot.

The Brigade

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into the Night, Monday, July 12

"Memories light the corner of my mind, misty water-colored memories ... of the way we were."

One day, they'll look back on this and laugh. Or, at least, I will. It was a night of brouhahas in the House o' Happy Hamsters. And, they were odd and unwarranted brouhahas.
  • It could be Ragan's fault. He went and wondered who would have the first major meltdown.
  • Annie has been campaigning, using the fairly logical "split up a power duo" argument.
  • But they all like Rachel more than they like Annie, for the most part. Lane seems to like Annie okay. He already told Hayden he wants to vote for her to stay ... so she'll have a vote.
  • Then it happened. OMG!!! Rachel rolled her eyes and overly patronized Annie as she dismissed her when she wanted to talk to her. Horrors! The sky is falling! Annie had wanted to talk to her about how she felt excluded from everything. Now, what's the point? Annie is digging her own grave.
  • Annie went off on her. She ended up saying something about killing people and went for an extended Diary Room visit.
  • That left everyone else to gossip about what happened.
  • Rachel went to the Have Not room and cried until her knight came in to console her. She thinks Annie is making her out to be a bad person.
  • A bit later, Lane and Andrew had a tiff.
  • Lane asked Andrew what he was eating. Andrew just stared at him.
  • No fisticuffs. They decided later it was misunderstood sarcasm.
  • Andrew wanted to hug to make up.
  • Lane agreed to shake hands.
  • The girls don't think Andrew has any social skills.
  • Meow.

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds into Monday Evening, July 12

She Blinded Me With Science (Science!) -- They've known each other for a week.

Sunny Lane

What's the scoop from inside that Big Brother House of Meowsers? Here ya go:
  • Most of the hamsters stayed up all night. They better quit that.
  • Andrew, one of the few who went to bed at a fairly decent hour, was the first up.
  • No, I didn't see him sabotage anything. He did his prayers, then ate breakfast.
  • Only Enzo and Andrew were already up when BB tried to wake everyone at a bit after 9 AM their time.
  • After Annie campaigned to Kathy (who sympathized with her but didn't promise anything), Kathy told Rachel she has her vote (to stay).
  • So, actually, Annie has Kathy's vote if we want to get all nitpicky ... since the vote is to evict.
  • Lane is possibly the sole vote to keep Annie. Maybe Matt, but I don't think so.
  • Matt told Annie he thinks that Rachel and Brendon knew each other outside of the house. True, the showmance has gone down so quickly that it's possible. But it's more likely Matt is just telling her that, whether to pander to her or to stir things up.
  • Hayden and Ragan think if Annie stays, she's a floater and will flip. Neither can read Enzo.
  • Although there was a lockdown, there was no comp.
  • Ragan told them that Natalie was spelled as Gnatalie on message boards.
  • Brendon and Rachel sucked face. Again.
  • Not live feeds, but just wanted to mention Julie Chen will be on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight.

Andrew

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into the Wee Hours - Monday, July 12

Interesting ... when Annie had her big reveal of her bi-sexuality to Britney, Monet and Kathy, she said "they" told her it might be best to hide it from the house. And yes, that's who she's with (and still awake) as I type this up. She really doesn't want to go and is definitely working for the votes to stay.

Matt gets some fiber in his diet so the slop isn't as hard to take. I'm still waiting to see what that bandage on his bicep covers. I remember one covered rather innocuous tattoo on James was the Brawny paper towel man -- it was considered advertising.
  • Enzo cooked up fish and chips for many of the hamsters. Who knew he could cook anything?
  • In campaigning, Annie is working the "break up a strong couple and get rid of Rachel" card.
  • Rachel went to Brendon's bed at around 10 PM their time and the BB voice yelled at her twice that "it's time to get up for the day!" Since she's a Have Not, she's not supposed to sleep in there.
  • At midnight (their time), the Have Nots were allowed to eat. They all had a big toast and the Have Nots rejoiced.
  • Yes, BB gave them alcohol. Andrew seemed to get drunk on a single beer.
  • I hope the beer was kosher.
  • As the gals sans Rachel bond in the yard, upstairs in the HOH room Hayden, Matt and Lane talk about everyone.
  • Where's Rachel and Brendon? Oh, you know.
  • My show review is up on TV Squad and I hope the hamsters go to bed sometime soon because they're really boring.
  • Later!

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into Sunday Evening, July 11

A slip 'n' slide was made out of a box of garbage bags.

Ragan's star tattoo covers up a Tweety tattoo.

Well, Sundays are sort of quiet in the house with the exception of the POV Meeting. Nothing has changed this season. Most of the day pre-meeting was Annie trying to secure a position in the house as she figured she was going to go on the block. Yet when she went on the block, she freaked and started slamming her stuff into a suitcase and saying how she wants to go home NOW.
  • Rachel herself was upset. She had everyone consoling her.
  • Lane tried to calm Annie down.
  • Annie and Britney had a cat fight. Meow, not Mafia.
  • Both had been actively campaigning against each other going into the meeting.
  • Britney said Annie was trying to get alliances going with everyone in the house.
  • Actually, most are trying for what they can get.
  • Annie went to Hayden to spill beans on people, but it wasn't much that anyone else didn't know already.
  • Hayden told her not to mess with Britney or she'll destroy any chance she has of staying.
  • Annie has no chance in staying against Rachel. It's pretty much a done deal, I think.
  • Annie went from wildly packing, yelling, and flipping off the cameras to "woe is me." She said she's probably lost her job, her family, her life and everything.
  • Even Brendon, who has his own reasons to want Rachel to stay, tried to give Annie a pep talk.
  • Annie is campaigning for votes. She told Lane she needs two or three more.
  • She probably needs more than that.
  • And, to think she dyed her hair for the show! Horrors!
  • Lane wanted to know what Enzo's wearing for TV tonight. Oh, sure. Worry about Showtime but not the millions on the Internet!

Andrew hugs Rachel ... not a showmance.

The saboteur duct-taped crosses on Britney and Kathy's photos, then told everyone to observe, listen, watch their backs.

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Bulletin - POV Meeting Over

The feeds were blocked for a long time, came back and, as expected, Annie is replacing Brendon on the block. So, it's Annie and Rachel nominated for eviction. She's not handling it well at all. Lane made the effort to console her, but she would like to have alcohol instead.

Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Overnight into Sunday Morning, July 11

Meow Meow

For the most part, the house was a bit uneventful after the big new saboteur video. I think the saboteur might just be making things up about two people in the house having a previous relationship. Here's the skinny on the evening:
  • Brendon cooked for the Have Nots, even though he's not one. Mmm ... fried pickles.
  • Britney is still (fairly needlessly) freaking that she's going to be put on the block when Brendon saves himself.
  • It's likely the replacement will be Annie unless Britney gets everyone ticked at her.
  • What's surprising is that they're not trying to get Rachel out, thus ensuring a power player Blinded By Science showmance duo.
  • Rachel and Monet showed off acrobatic cheer moves in the backyard.
  • Both Lane and Matt tried to get Britney off her paranoia.
  • Ragan thinks he's a walking zombie due to the slop, but is still amazed that he's actually in the house.
  • I expect today will be rather quiet until the POV meeting. There have been no announcements, but in previous years it would be late afternoon their time. I'll post when I hear.

Matt and Ragan chased each other around in the Have Not Room, now we know that's how guys go gay (according to both Ragan and Matt) -- BB slop and Have Notting

Then again, Matt came INTO the house with numerous pajama bottoms.

Andrew and Rachel. not a couple

Rachel and Brendon, a couple. They were settling in for some hanky-panky. Brendon thought the cameras were off. She told him, "Nope, they're on!" The result above.

Off Topic - That Was the Week It Was - July 11, 2010

I realize I have an influx of Big Brother 12 fans aboard this week. Just to let you know, every Sunday morning I reflect on the week gone by in words and photos I've taken. I will be posting the latest live feeds news from the house a bit later. But, for now, I'm off topic.

This week was one of the hottest ones I can recall in my lifetime. The high on Tuesday was 105. Even when the heat wave broke late in the week, it was 89 with very high humidity. I actually like the winter better than what I went through this week. I'm SO dreading my electricity bill because I kept my AC on so much! We need rain, too. I surely thought I sweated enough to take care of that, but apparently not.

The west side of town and its shootings seemed to have calmed down some. Perhaps the heat kept people indoors more. I guess if folks can afford handguns, they can afford air conditioners.

Beside the heat, the big event of the week was the season premiere and kick-off of Big Brother 12 on Thursday night. For me, it marks the start of a rather grueling three months or so of reporting live feed happenings and reviewing show episodes three times a week for TV Squad. Don't get me wrong, I anticipate the challenge each season! How long can Jackie survive on little to no sleep? ;-)

We tested the elevator at my apartment building. One day this week, the rather large man who lives directly above me, a woman who regularly visits someone in the building, Steve and his bicycle from upstairs and I all got in at the same time. It got us to our destinations! However, I noticed the door doesn't always go all the way into its groove once it opens on the second floor. Today I came home with groceries and ended up running upstairs to push the door into place so it would know to close, then downstairs to load my groceries in once it arrived. I'll have to let the people running the place know.

Onto this week's photos -- clicking on an image will open it larger in a new window ...

As high as an elephant's eye ...

The sunflowers on East Front Street (Plainfield) are way taller than I am. That top peak one has to be over 8 feet high! Alas, due to the lack of rain, I'm seeing a lot of browning and dying leaves at the bottom. The plants themselves aren't as fat as in previous years, either.

Up against the tree, squirrel! Hands up!

Resting on the base of an oak tree at the Plainfield Train Station.

You'll never catch me, copper!

Blue damselfly on a poison ivy vine

These damselflies really need to stay still longer! It's hard to get a shot of them.

Blue fly on a stinkhorn mushroom

Oh my. He seems to be eating the stuff that supposedly smells like carrion off of the mushroom. The stinkhorns have been making rapid appearances and shriveling away within a day lately. No. No sexual innuendo there. Really!

Sign(s) of the times

Open windows and air conditioners. I'm not sure how folks do without screens. I know that I get the occasional outside bug in here and I have screens. Don't birds fly in? North Avenue, Plainfield.

In which I risk my life once again for the shot

This is a yellow jacket, a member of the wasp family. I am allergic. Yet I'm strangely drawn to photograph stuff. And, there he was. I edited the shot to make the background black and white (really, gray) and leave the yellow jacket in color. Do you know that they're one of the most likely to sting and they can sting multiple times? Bridgewater, NJ.

Could he be the culprit?

I'm seeing a lot of beetle-type damage to the poison ivy and other plants at the Bridgewater Train Station -- obviously not so much on the leaves pictured here. I haven't seen the usual suspects, Japanese beetles, around. Yet this tiny kind of iridescent blue beetles are there. By the way, not only the leaves of three, but the "hairy" vines are indicative of poison ivy.

The yellow jackets have appropriated some real estate

This is where I'm getting the yellow jacket photos from. I think they're building a nest or something in there. The two on the right side are dead. Almost like a whale beaching, they nudged themselves into that crevice and got stuck. I wasn't about to rescue them! There are about ten honor boxes in a row there. Only this one has yellow jackets in it. No one has tried to fill it lately. I wonder why?

Just a weed

But if you look closely, there's a small bee and a large ant on it!

Trouble ahead, trouble behind

"And you know that notion just crossed my mind." - 'Casey Jones' by The Grateful Dead. Nah, nothing to do with drug troubles. I'm talking heat problems. I never realized that intense heat will swell railroad tracks and slow down the trains. Plus, the new engines running these double-deckers automatically shut down (and stop the train) when they reach 140 degrees. The railroad lines with electric engines had more trouble than mine with diesel. But we were still late a lot. Plainfield Train Station in the early morning haze.

Yay, sunflower in bloom!

Can you find the honeybee in the shot? I saw chocolate-covered sunflower seeds in a store. Now, had they been dark chocolate-covered, I would have had to give them a go. East Front Street.

In which I mess with the colors

East Second Street in Plainfield.

Dog Day Afternoon

The black chihuahua is my downstairs neighbor. He has a friend staying with him. Yes, I hear yaps and yips. I could send Vincent down to put them in their place! Notice how brown the grass is. We're not under any water restrictions here (that I know of), but many places in New Jersey are. "Man, it's a hot one, like seven inches from the midday sun ..." - 'Smooth' by Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas

More sunflower action

These are really great! I love me some sunflowers.

No, I'm not going inside!

I played a bit with the editing of this shot. I liked the sun and shadows on the building and its letters. I've never been inside. I'm sure my knee would set off the metal detectors. Watchung Avenue.

Hot town, summer in the city

"Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty, been down, isn't it a pity, doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city ..." - 'Summer in the City' by The Lovin' Spoonful. I messed a bit with this one, too. Watchung Avenue and Court Place, Plainfield.

Gravity-defying moth

He's just hanging around.

There he is, right-side up!

Some kind of wasp ritual?

The Real Estate yellow jackets are forming a new society, I guess.

Quiet morning

I worked on Monday, a holiday for many people. The streets of Plainfield were deserted. Watchung Avenue. And, yes, I edited it just to leave the railroad bridge in color.

Johnny on the Spot

Thankfully these only remained up three days after the parade. One year one sat on the lawn at my building for almost two weeks! East Front and Richmond.

What? You say it's hot outside?

Vincent remains comfortable during this horrid weather. If you recall he was a stray picked up in Riverside Park in Manhattan. I adopted him from New York City Animal Care and Control, the shelter system which covers all of the boroughs. Well, some creep is beating up women in the park now. I'm so glad Vincent isn't wandering the streets of NYC these days. He probably is, too.

How was your week?
