Yep, Evel Dick is sitting pretty. Or, as pretty as he can sit with those funky feet!Here are the day's events so far from inside that Big Brother House of "But I had a Vision!" --
- Before they went to sleep, Eric double-checked with Jessica to make sure she was still okay with his plan to let the nominations stand. She's fine with it.
- Jameka seriously tried to turn Jessica against Eric. I think she was doing it more in Amber's interest and perhaps Jessica's down the road rather than her own.
- Jessica told Jameka that she doesn't think Eric is going to use the veto. Jameka went on about Eric, Dick, and Daniele ... and sometimes Zach!
- Jessica reported the Jameka conversation back to Eric.
- Eric kissed her. I think this is probably the America's Player kiss. America has no sense of adventure!
- Eric is mad that Jameka told Jessica he didn't want to win HOH because they might give him pictures of his girlfriend. He says that's none of Jameka's business and he's been honest with Jessica.
- Eric told Jessica he really wants to win HOH next week.
- Jameka, the school counselor, asked if someone could explain the "Jensa Member" t-shirt. She doesn't get the reference. (I guess it's safe to say she's not a Mensa Member. It's scary that Jen obviously knew the reference and Jameka doesn't.)
- Amber told Jameka that Jessica told her that she isn't the target, but she (Amber) thinks something is going on between Jessica, Eric, Daniele, and Dick. (Ding, ding, we have a winner!)
- Eric didn't use the veto -- for the first time this season! Amber and Zach are still on the block.
- The washing machine still isn't working right.
- It hasn't been a thrill a minute, folks.

Remember the days when it was frowned upon to use the veto? Also how when the first person did use it, I think they were gone the next week! Guess that was before they got the hang of using it to backdoor. IMAO

Not sure how Jameka ever became a school counselor as she seems so naive at times. In my school district (I'm in Canada) our school counselors all need to have at least two university degrees (BA and BEd) and most of them also have a masters degree on top of that. Not sure how it works where Jameka comes from but I'm sure she had to have some training. How can a person go through university or college and not know about Mensa or ever hear about an RV?
As for Amber, I feel she will need help from a real counselor when she leaves the BB house. I often wonder how her daughter is making out as I'm sure some of her school mates are making comments about her mother. Sometimes kids can be very cruel and it is so unfair for that little girl to have to go through all the teasing I'm sure she is getting because her mother is on a reality show. Hopefully Amber's family will be able to explain things to her somehow.
Actually the POV was not used the first week either. Daniele won it but did not use it.
Found this journal of Daniele's in her profile on Jokers. It is actually a very good read and shows you what kind of person she is. I don't find her spoiled on her at all, but a girl who doesn't feel as if she fits in with her family and is trying to find herself. You can tell she is very intelligent. The journal goes back quite a few years and talks of her dad (nothing bad at all), but does talk of hating her grandparents. Hmmmmmm.......... She also mentions that her dad dated Jerri Manthey (the B**** from Survivor), but says she likes her. I won't go into all the details, but it is a good read if you have the time... :)Lots n Lots of pics too, she apparently loves photography and is actually bery good....

I just have to say...I'm willing to bet that Jen only knew the Jensa reference because it was explained to her (maybe by Will??). As far as Jameka goes, I find it disturbing that she's a school counselor and appears to lack a lot of knowledge that should be basic for a college educated person.
And Jackie, ITA!!! America has no sense of adventure. By the time I saw the Sunday show, AP was about to expire so I hadn't even read the comments here and voted for Dick to receive the kiss. I'm warped...I just thought it would be funny! And to watch Eric come up with a creative explanation for it would have been the best! Oh well...
I don't know what the state laws are in Maryland (where Jameka lives) but in Texas to be a school counselor, you have to have a bachelor's degree, your teaching certificate, and masters in counseling-- plus a large amount of hours in the field. She's got the mmmm mmmm down pat when people talk to her.
I still stand by this season is a bunch of big brother rejects.
So glad Eric didn't use the veto. I don't suspect they will tell Amber she is out of her since it could be a tie, but I doubt America will vote to evict Zach.

How sad is it that even with all the 'help' BB is giving Eric and Jessica in the AP choices they still can't get it on? Sometimes he/she just isn't that into you. The producers started out with the Woobie with no results, added the kiss, with no results, Stripped everyone naked, with no results. It makes me scared to think of what plan they will hatch next to bring some bedroom action to this season. I hope thyey just give it up and start right now planning a better season next year. Sue
I laughed when I read Jackie's comment about Amber wondering about why Eric would want his two enemies in the house, but I'm seriously getting depressed for that poor girl and her daughter too. I'm glad to read other posters commenting that they feel sorry for her too.
I also wonder about Jameka's job.
The description might be vague.. maybe she isn't a guidance counselor or a grief counselor or anything like that that you usually need a Master's + for.
Maybe she's the bus counselor?

Lucy--I worry about Amb's daughter, too. She is little enough that hopefully most of her classmates don't see the show and she has someone monitioring what she sees!!

Deanna - I read parts of Dani's journal and must say that I disagree with you about her. I think she seems very immature and unhappy with life. She talked about being broke all the time which shows me she has a lot of growing to do. Money doesn't mean happiness!

Not having read Dani's journal(couldn't be less interested)but just from listening to her and watching her actions,she's a spoiled,self centered immature person,who was probably catered to by grandparents who over compensated for all the "bad" things that happened in her life and she now has such a sense of entitlement,that she's a bear to live with. It's either her way or the highway or she stalks out of any discussion she doesn't like. I hope her 15 minutes is about up and she just fades back into the woodwork once this is over. She may be intelligent,she's well spoken,but she's stuck on herself so badly,I doubt there's room for anybody else to count in her life.
And a word to dick,you can't make up for a lifetime of bad parenting in a few short months,no matter how badly you want to.You reap what you sow,and you had a hand in making this little monster.

When I first saw the headshots of the hgs for this season, I thought Amber looked a lot like Jerri of Survivor. Can't see why I thought that now, but wonder if Dick saw a resemblance. I do agree that his hatred for Jen began that first day with the 'old guy' comment from her. He did tell someone he (at one time) had hoped for a showmance. I wonder which of the original cast he was hoping to hook up with? Sue
I don't think Jam has had a whole lot of counseling experience because she doesn't seem to recognize that Amber is delusional. Not only that she seems to encourage her delusions. I don't think that she's doing it just for strategical reasons either. I think she's doesn't recognize someone with mental health problems. It makes me worried about her school what with all the school shootings. How many of those could have been prevented if the school counselors had the training and experience to recognize someone with problems and get them help. It's kind of scary.
I too would have prefered that Jess and Eric backdoor Dani. I think it was a mistake. If Dani wins HOH next week I bet she puts one of them on the block in a heartbeat. She's already wanted to break the alliance but Dick talked her out of it.
That being said, I want Amber to go. I still think Zach has a chance if they don't get him out next week. Maybe the producers will tailor a comp so that he can win one HOH at least. I would like to see who he put it. I bet it would be Dick and Eric. I do like the fact that he's at least stood up to Dick on occasion and that's why Dick wants him out now. I don't think Dick can stand anyone who doesn't bow down to lick his butt...Talk about a legend in his own mind. Does he still think he pulled off the greatest coo in the history of BB? I seem to remember us, America, having a little something to do with that.

Orkmommy... I didnt say she was immature, but that she sounds intelligent & like she feels like she doesn't fit in.I do think she appears a bit spoiled(on the show), but she is no dummy and it shows in her game play. The girl & Dick are not lacking in intelligence. She does talk briefly of being broke and who hasn't had that stress or burden and complained at one time or another. I thought her postings were very age appropriate. At her age, I remember that feeling of being a bit lost in the big world and unsure of the next step. My (almost)19yr old son is going through that growing pain right now. Trying to find where he wants to go and in his adulthood and yet still wanting to cling to the benefits of childhood. Po-tato..Po-tota... I guess.... :) lol!

I work with a girl who reminds me of Daniele and I have a hard time with her too. She always whines about her situation but when someone gives her a suggestion on how to change it she finds excuses as to why she can't do it. She makes pretty good money but whines that she's broke all the time. I can't see how Daniele can be so broke, she's a waitress at Hooters and I know they make good money in tips. Plus her boyfriend was Aladin at DisneyLand. He couldn't have been making bad money.
I just think Daniele is very spoiled and can't stand it when things don't go HER way. When she's HOH, she's on top of the world. When she's not, everything sucks. She acts like she thinks she's entitled to something because her childhood wasn't perfect. I've got news for her, I don't know anyone who had a perfect childhood!!

She's a hot mess. However, she is no different than the kids I teach everyday who are separated from their families. Kids DO NOT bounce back from that stuff. There's something missing, and they can't get it because they didn't have it when it would have counted.
She's not spoiled, she's messed up.

Okay, I'm going to take a stab at the Jameka counseling thing here. Sorry, I didn't read all the way down, so if I repeat anything that has been said, forgive me.
Jameka actually had this convo earler on this summer with some people in the kitchen/eating area. She said that she got her master's degree in 'guidance' counseling, not "counseling" as in psychological counseling. She also said that she didn't want to put in all the hours of psychology courses to get a masters in counseling.
Guidance counselors help kids figure out their path in life and what career path to choose. She didn't want to have to counsel the 'at risk' behavior kids. She isn't an expert on human behavior and that is obvious from what she has led Amber to believe (but she has told Dani a time or two how to better communicate with her Dad, kudos Jameka).
I'm starting to like Jameka more these days since she's loosened up and is having fun with the bunch. I also liked her taking control of "psycho Jen". She's only a guidance counselor and nothing more spectacular than that. Do I root for her? NO! Everyone knows who I'm rooting for. :-)

Last night Jessica was ready to break the deal with D and D and Eric had to basically reel her back in.
They are both 21 year olds acting like 21 year olds just in different ways. Sounds like Dani supports herself and is out on her own. Which can't be easy at her age. (someone I work with, their daughter worked at Hooter's and trust me, they don't make as much as you would think) Yep she whines and can be a brat, but it doesn't make her a "bad person".
Jessica is a college student who obviously likes to drink a lot. I hear her whine too. They are both immature in their own ways.
Sometimes I think people expect too much from someone that age on a show like this. Possibly BB might think about not casting them this young, I dunno.
BUT IMHO, Amber is the most immature of all the houseguests and she is raising a child, scary huh?
One last thought, what is it with this whole "only a good person should be there at the end" stuff. What makes Amber think she is a good person? She is a crazy person, but I am not sure she is a "good person" I would be willing to bet she might be the person who has lied and talked behind peoples backs w/out any sort of strategy the most this whole season.

Just my opinion,but I would hope that someone who has a master's degree in ANY major would be a more rounded person than the average joe and Jameka just does NOT project that image at all. I'm not saying she is a dummy or anything,but how can you be that sheltered and have gone to college that many years? She claims to not know any white people or have much life experience,but wouldn't you have to read books and take diverse courses to earn a master's?What college or university did she attend,does anybody know? And she must lead a sheltered life without much outside influence,such as TV,movies,books,computers if she is so unaware. Either she's playing us or them or she is one unique individual.
Jackie...I honestly think Jen didn't come up with most of her Jenuous shirt sayings. I'd be that her Chill Town buddies did most of the creating, from the concept to most of the quotes. The veto was not used in the first week when Amber and Carol were on the block.
I am starting to feel sorry for Amber. It's one thing to act a certain way (cry all the time, rant like ED does, etc.) and let the viewers form their own impressions of the personalities, and make what they will of it. If we want to draw conclusions/opinions and make fun of actions, that's one thing.
However, with last week's "Cover Model" discussion, it seems like CBS itself is poking fun at Amber and setting her up to look like a fool. There's a million other things that go on behind the scenes that they don't show, so why be so cruel to someone who it is obvious has some issues.
It's sad Anan 10:19am, but it's what gets ratings. These people put themselves in the house. They obviously must realize that they are going to be shown in a negative way if BB can catch them at it.
If they're intelligent like Dr. Will, then they're going to be funny, even tho acting stupid. Amber doesn't have anything going for her, so they portray her as she is.
I still feel sorry for her, but can't blame BB. She keeps putting it out there.
