Will Divine Intervention save Amber? Or will it be Jameka? Will it mean God loves one more than the other?
I'm not going to get into a deep theological discussion here, but I think God most likely has more important tasks at hand.
Here are the events and oddness which went down in that Big Brother House of Uncommon Nonsense*:
- Jameka is a bit under the weather today. She's also mad because someone put chocolate syrup on the downstairs toilet seat as a prank and she ended up cleaning it up.
- Eric and Jessica want to keep Jen in the house for their own strategic purposes. If it comes down to it, they want to try to make a deal with Dick and Daniele that if Jen goes this week, Zach has to go next. (Argh, I want AMBER to go! I know it may not be the most strategic move, but she is the most annoying person on the feeds for me.)
- In the POV player picks, Daniele chose Dick as her Houseguest's Choice. Zach and Jessica were the other two chosen and Eric was picked as the host.
- Evel Dick and Zach happy-danced that Jen wasn't competing for the veto.
- They were told ahead of time that in addition to the veto, there would be two prizes of trips. The veto was based on CBS poll answers, but blocked to the feeds (of course).
- Daniele won the POV. The trips were won by Daniele and Amber.
- Daniele said she wouldn't use the veto. Dick quickly vetoed that idea! He said they should make a deal with Amber that she won't put them on the block if she gets HOH next week and send Jen home.(Like Amber could win HOH! Give me a break here!)
- Daniele is reluctant -- she thinks she can make a deal with Jen. Dick doesn't want that.
- Zach complained to Daniele that Amber and Jameka are "being mean" to him because of the Dustin gone ordeal.
- When Zach mentioned to Daniele that it seems like Dick tried to do his best for her and her brother Vincent, she scoffed. She said he likes to make it look like he did.
- Amber hopes someone will discover her. (Perhaps the men in white jackets? They're coming to take you away, haha, heehee...)
- Dick talked nice at ... er, to Amber. He was actually very pleasant, asking if she was okay, telling her he didn't know who would go home, and if she needed to talk he's there. He also played up on her winning a feast and the trip and how happy he was for her.
- Amber teared up a wee bit, but thanked him.
- Amber didn't cry.
- Jameka told Amber that she thinks Daniele will use the veto to put up Eric. (How out of touch is she?)
- Amber thinks that Daniele won't take her off the block because she's selfish. Jameka told her she should try making a deal with her.
- There was beer pong and an extended True/False game.
- And there ya go!

Hi Jackie, Does Daniele have something up her sleeve or is she just being cranky today? Could she be planning to keep Jen around for the F2...thinking she would win against her...would she be planning to get even with dear old dad by setting him up to be ousted by the next HOH? Or would that all make too much drama and she is just keeping with the plan? You wrote she was snarky about her dad and that is what prompted my fantasy. Not that I would want that to happen. I want Daniele to leave, but seeing her have a surprise plan would be fun. Thanks, Sue
yes those white coat gentlemen BETTER come and
get amber!!
debbie in calif
Why in heaven's name is Dani snarky??? She's been well fed and heard from "lover boy,Nick" and is HOH. She is just an immature 20 year old who is used to getting her way, apparently. I wonder if she whined to get her way at home w/her grandparents or w/the boyfriend?? I can tell you,it's starting to rank right up there w/Amber's crying for me! Now,I could understand her changing her noms IF another person had won POV,but doesn't it look like she doesn't know what she is doing to take HER nom off and put Jen up?
She's all about looking like a "player" and appearing strong,so I don't think she will. BUT,if she has to take somebody off,let it be Jameka,so we can make Eric vote Amber and he'd have to talk Jess into voting Amber and then tap dance hard enough to turn the others. Jen deserves to stay,NOT Wahmber.
Something smells fishy in this house....the little person did say"a fish starts to stink in 3 days"-
Thur/Fri/Sat.!! Maybe Dani does have some kind of agreement with Jen. Nice thought, Sue.
Yes, Sharon-- "I think she would look like she doesn't know what she is doing". But Dick's plan was always to backdoor Jen so she couldn't play in the POV comp....I wonder if his house even HAS A FRONT DOOR?!
You know when Amber/Dani take their trip Amber will be pleading her case and trying to make some deals.
Dani complains about being isolated and everyone hating her but now that she is HOH I don't see her inviting HG to her room and she spends alot of time up there by herself. Maybe she didn't read the part on the description of BB that it is "a SOCIAL
experiment of human behavior."
It's a l o n g
time till Thurs.!!
P.S. Jackie thanks for your response to anon 10:23
If you post under anon. you can always sign a name to the bottom then some of us regulars know who checking in. It makes it fun to watch how peoples thoughts change.

While I do understand that this is a game and each individual is entitled to an opinion, it saddens me to realize that Jameka is being ridiculed and made fun of because of her proclamation that she reads her bible and believes in God, while Dick who clearly has no respect for women or anyone else, who constantly uses foul language, physically attack another female (pouring liquid on Jen's hair) is being hailed as hero.
Here, a man who is trying to mend relationship with his own daughter is being insulting and rude to other people's daughters. Is this the way to earn respect and mend broken relationships?
BB8, this season, is becoming very painful for me to watch.
I have a hard time listening to people in the BB house bring religion into the game. I have an even harder time listening, er reading it on the blogs. Is this really a game where you would bring your religion into play? I wouldn't!
This is a game; this is a game of lies and deceit; this is a game of backstabbing and moving yourself into a position to win, and the best game move was played this past week (with the help of America). I'm not sure if the rest of the season will play out as well, but I have hope! :)
Chill out people.... its a game.
i started out hating this season and now I'm thinking it could rank up there with S2 and S6.
Peace! mm
I'm thinking Daniele doesn't have a brain in that pretty lil head. Dick is thinking 3 steps ahead of everyone else. Dani, make a deal with Amber not to put your sad ass on the block, and, she votes this week to get Jen out, then remove her(Amber) this week. Put Jen up, as the target, make a deal with Eric n Jess that Zach goes next week, if they vote for Jen to leave this week. Dani would then have enough votes to get Jen out this week, even if Eric must vote for Amber. The deal breaking has to really kick in shortly so why not get a strong player(Jen) out now, before you lose the opportunity.
I truly believe neither Amber or Jameka stand a chance of winning if either is in the final two.
As for "someone" taking notice of Amber, for her sake, I hope it is not Child Welfare authorities in her county.

i just saw the funniest parody. It's for all of you ED-haters out there.

Ok, I'm getting caught up by reading jokers,(in addition to this one) and this has been bothering me for a while. Can anyone please tell me what in the world Amber means when she says "I can't with him" or "I can't with her"?!?! That drives me crazy! What "can't" she do?!?! I just read where she said it about Zach, and then a couple minutes later about Jessica.
Also sometime Saturday morning I think it was, Dani had mentioned she's not using POV, but then told Dick that she doesn't want anyone to know that she is going to use it to backdoor Jen. She plans on doing it at the ceremony I think.
It also sounded like she had been reassuring Jameka that she shouldn't worry. I took it to mean she'd take Jameka off to put Jen up.
However, now she's talking like she wants to make a deal with Jen. Dick doesn't think she should. But when they first mentioned making the deal with Jess & Erik, didn't Dick try to talk Dani out of putting Jen up if she got HOH, saying she could be on their side and help them if she stayed?
I hope Amber and Jameka go before the rest. Still would like to see the "DJ2" alliance formed that I previously mentioned.
Nikki
Sandy - I think most of us feel that Jameka is shoving her beliefs down people's throats - I'm sure that other people in the house have religious beliefs, but they don't bring them into the game - Kail's husband referred to the fact that Kail is very religious, but she didn't mention that at all - I think if you were playing any other game, e.g. Trivial Pursuit, Chess, why would you bring your religion into it ??
I totally respect your right to believe how you believe, this is just my opinion
I think Danielle would be stupid to take a nomination off & replace it - If she wanted Jen off so bad, she should have put her up in the first place - quit playing the stupid "back door" game !!
As a christian, it really bothers me that people get offended when you say you are a christian. Jameka is not shoving her beliefs down anyones throat. If you dont believe what she believes, thats okay. I do believe that God has a had in everything that we do. The way you do everything in your life is a reflection of your walk with christ, even playing games. That is why she prays about the happenings in the game, she wants to play with a little dignity and character and it is hard to do that and in life. Sometimes you will fall short but you can always ask for forgiveness with a humble heart and contriction. When a person that had accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior commits a sin, the real sin is not repenting. We are expected to fall, but we are also expected to get back up and get back in line. It is just funny that people can defend ED as abusive, homophobic and vulgar he has been, but no one defends christians rights.
Chauncey
Agree with you Chauncey. This is the way Jameka "lived" when she was outside the house, so she is just continuing to "live" that way in the house. Has she failed in her quest to live a spirit filled life? Of course, we all fail, but we are to immediately ask for forgiveness. When we fall from grace, God doesn't say "Get away from me heathen", he leans down, picks us up and says, "Here, let me help you".
Of course God has better things to do than play this game, but if one of his children calls out to him, no matter where they are, he listens.
So...let's just enjoy the game.
Chauncy and MEB
RIGHT ON
Chauncey, I believe a person's actions reflect their beliefs, be they Christian or not, and there are times when Jameka walks a thin line between acting Christian and acting like someone who is not.
You say she "wants to play with a little dignity and character " yet she chooses to respond to Dick in the same vulgar language that he uses. She also makes unkind remarks about Dick's mother, a woman she knows nothing about. I find behaviour like this less than dignified.
I do not like Dick using the tactics that he employs to "play" the game. It is wrong to be "abusive, homophobic and vulgar" and one should not act this way. If one does not act this way, they do not have to ask forgiveness. A person should not intentionally act sinful just because they know they can repent their sins.
I am not defending Dick or trying to put Jameka down because of her beliefs but I feel some people are upset with Jameka because she has demonstrated some behaviours that others consider less than Christian.
Jameka was my favorite player at the beginning of the season. I thought she was poised, confident, and really thinking and not just reacting like the other players. Now I am less impressed with her game play but still admire how strong her faith is.
I guess there will always be people who see things in black or white but I like to think I can see both sides and not have to defend anyone's rights, be they Christian or not.
Sandy, Chauncey, and MEB,
I agree 100% with you. Some people on here talk about how Jameka is shoving her beliefs down everyone's throat but I don't see it that way at all. From what I've seen she doesn't walk around with her bible preaching to the other houseguests every chance she gets. So what if the other players choose not to bring their beliefs into the game. That doesn't mean that Jameka is being hoilier than thou or that the other players are not true believers. To each his own.
As a christian myself I believe that God is involved in every aspect of my life. No one here really knows how they would respond after being in that kind of environment and being constantly around someone like Dick. I think some people are judging her much harsher than Dick just because of her belief in God. Despite her beliefs, she's a regular person just like everybody else.
Jameka is still one of my favorites and I hope she makes it very far.
Kim
We christians should not sin on purpose just because we know we can repent later, the bible speaks against that, but there are times that we can lose control and say and do things we shouldnt. It is hard being a good person in this world and when you try to live a christ filled life it gets even harder because we are held to a higher standard becase people will throw your mistakes in your face. She can not be defended in her statements to ED at all, that was wrong. I was just getting upset because it seems like ED has more people defending his behavoir and attacking her because of her beliefs. I was rooting for ED and Jameka in the beginning but now i hope she can make a comeback somehow and somebody needs to take him to the end because he will probably lose against anybody left.
Chauncey
I hear people say that ED is "honest" and "telling it like it is" at he does not talk behind your back, isn't that part of the game; being manipulative and sneaky. Some of the best players in BB never played the way he has. I did not like Dr. Will but i have high respect for the way he played and the others that won or came close.
May I just make a statement from someone who is of another (not Christian) faith? I think that at the core of most religions are values that promote our living as best we can and doing good for other people and the world. I think it is in our being human and imperfect that we interpret things differently and at times don't follow the basic "good" core values of whatever our religion is. And, at times-many times and wars, in fact, religion becomes divisive. Personally, I embrace what I consider the good values of religion in general and try to avoid the divisive ones.
I really don't think Jameka is being criticized for being a Christian, per se. However, I do see many commenters criticizing "how" she is being Christian. It seems to me that judging how someone lives their religion is very personal. We all have a right to say whatever about the HG's, they've put themselves on TV. My personal opinion is that Jameka is sincere in her beliefs and is just being human. I really doubt that she intentionally "sins" and then just figures "ok, I can do that and then just be forgiven". That's JMO. I also suspect that Jameka does lead a very religious life outside of the house and of course, I could be wrong.
Her prayer that somehow Eric might become Christian seemed naive at best and sheltered/possibly ignorant at worst but even that seemed to me to be sincere within her religious construct.
Ok, and part of the reason I've rambled so much and risked the wrath of the commenters is I'd like to put something out for your consideration that I do find personally difficult to deal with. Please consider that when someone uses "being Christian" as meaning being a good person, the inference is that not being Christian means the opposite.
Many of us who are of a different religion are good people, are sincere in our beliefs, are human and make mistakes, and though we respect Christianity, do not aspire to it. It is just a thought for consideration, I know that many here have expressed their respect for whatever one believes and I appreciate that as well.
That's all I wanted to say and I really just prefer to comment more on the game and less on stuff like this...
So...I'll be happy whoever leaves this week cause sadly, I don't really have a favorite yet. Sigh, it's pretty late in the game so I doubt one will emerge. Oh well. That's it, period. End of story.
