The TMZ spoilers was indeed a hoax post, but had some spot on. AOL has an article up on the real cast for the upcoming season.
Here's who you can expect to watch: Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown, Marie Osmond, Jane Seymour, model Albert Reed, pro boxer Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather, Jr., Cameron Mathison from All My Children, Internet wealth tycoon Mark Cuban, actress Jennie Garth, model Josie Maran, racecar driver Helio Castrovneves, and actress-singer Sabrina Bryan.
I don't know half of these people. Your thoughts?
UPDATE -- ABC has updated their site and lists Wayne Newton there, so he's indeed in on the season.

He is, Jackie must have just missed him. There are 12 "stars" this season. I'm glad to see Jenni Garth and Cameron dance - haven't heard of some of the others like the Cheetah girl or race car driver. leene

God, the great two time winner Cheryl got stuck with Wayne Newton! Beauty & the Beast. At this point the dancers are more celebrities than some of the "stars" they are dancing with.
Marie Osmond?? Just can't see her dancing the rumba or mambo in those slinky outfits....Cameron Mathison is hot but can he dance?....Wayne and Cheryl

The show always acts like lots of stars want to be on the show. But, some of these celebs are not well known to the audience at all. I bet some actors are just too busy with their jobs ( especially those doing soaps and tv series where they are working long hours everyday or of course movie stars on location shoots for long periods of time ) But wow, a few of these stars, I have never heard of, have you?
I bet Jennie wanted to be on the show after watching Ian last year. Remember she was in the audience cheering him on a lot. I wish her hubby had also been cast. I forget his name but he has been on several tv shows in supporting or guest roles. He is very good looking too.
I do not know why they insist on casting these models as they always are cut early on.
Odd thing is after Apolo Anton Ohno won last year, I thought an ice skater or some other olympic athlete might want to go on the show..but then again , we are less than a year from the 2008 Olympics and they are in tough training now.

anonymous @12:45, I think anyone who is partnered with Edyta is lucky. She is a fabulous dancer and seems to have a sweet personality. There is something very genuine about her. She is very passionate about dance and is the only "professional dancer" of the bunch. I agree some of her outfits are odd and a bit quirky but they certainly do not detract from her ability to be a great dancer.
anonymous @12:47, I agree with your comment. I can't see Wayne Newton going too far in the contest and that would mean Cheryl (my favorite dancer) will get less air time. Then again, Wayne may just fool us all.
As for the "stars" it doesn't matter to me who is on the show as long as they keep the same format and partner them up with such wonderful dancers. I like being surprised by the celebrities that I thought I would not like (Jerry Springer)and I also enjoy seeing the personal growth in each dancer. There are times I wish some of the stars would return that got the boot early because they were less known as I feel some of them had potential to become good dancers.
Regardless, I will watch every episode and I know I will love the program as always.
Amber would love Mark Cuban---a jew from PA....but his credential as stellar....no offense people...just looked up his bio! Got to love a self-made man!!! Religion is so non in this or anywhere...what the world needs to understand!!!
I think the cast is pretty good. And Nana from the NW...thanks for pointing out that Tori Spelling isn't going to be on. I really don't like looking at her. She would grate on my nerves as does Amber. Sorry...my opinion.

Nana in the nw - just wanted to clear up one thing you mentioned. Melanie Brown had Eddie Murphy's baby a few months ago, not years. I think the baby's only about 6 months old, so I guess she's using this as an opportunity to lose baby weight. Hey, it worked for Tia Carrere!

I agree with the person who asked who at ABC Cheryl pissed off to get stuck with Wayne Newton. The girl is early 20s and that old coot is almost 70. Usually they put a more mature dancer with the oldsters...felt sorry for Etyna last year getting John...maybe giving her the hotty Cameron is compensation...she hasn't had a good partner yet. But I wish she'd get a better dresser. Those long drapery fabric over essentially a bikini bottom are so not attractive. Maybe Cameron will have some suggestions for her...he should ask Susan Lucci to dress his partner.
I'm liking Cameron and Helio is very good looking,so that's a plus. I think Jane may do very well and any of the performers have some kind of dance training(i.e.,Marie,Mel,Wayne,Sabrina). I'm so glad that Jennie got picked over Tori,I would have voted her off first....lol.Models have not done so well so far and some of the athletes have done very well,they are very disciplined.But where is Mark Cuban a celebrity??? Did he pay them to be on the show??
Cheryl has lucked out and gotten good partners in the past. They probably gave her Wayne to give another dancer a shot at the top spots. Cheryl is awesome, probably my favorite. She was on an episode of The Suite Life (Disney Channel) and she was FUNNY!!!
I Hope Cameron dances even 1/10th as good as he looks...He is yummy and a really nice guy to boot. How long is the series? Hope this doesn't mean Cameron won't be at super soap weekend this year (Nov 11-12)

Tori Spelling was on Entertainment Tonight not too long ago and it was hinted that she would be on DWTS. Wonder what happened that she's not on it now?
I also read once (about a year ago) that Sarah Ferguson (that's right, Prince Andrews ex) wanted to be on DWTS but I have yet to see that happen.The thing about DWTS is that I normally don't know many of the "stars" they had (ie. Drew Lachay, Joey Fatone, Emmit Smith) but I learned to love them very quickly. I would love to see an All Star (past winners and runners up, the good dancers). version someday though.

Mark is definitely very well known for his outspoken behavior throughout NBA Community, though most familiar with Cuban are demographics ages 14 to 49, along side various High School's, Universities. Without a doubt I'm incline to believe many who reside in TX are aware of who Mark Cuban is, even if it's only by face recognition, I found it interesting while viewing Amber on power 10, Drew made comments regarding Michael Vicks'I thought to myself Wow Amber know's who Vicks` is? I know many individuals who had never heard of Vicks` until his dog incident.

Perhaps you did not see Season 3 then. Etyna had Joey Lawrence as a partner and he was great - made it to final three against Mario Lopez and Emmet Smith (I wanted all three of them to win).

Well, the only ones I know are Marie Osmond, Jane Seymore, Jenni Garth and Wayne Newton. LOL
I do Like Marie Osmond and Jane Seymore, though. But I have to agree with some, I can't Marie doing the rumba or the tango. Heck, I can't see Wayne doing that, either! However, look how well Ali did last time. I really liked her. She was very competitive and I think she did really well. Many thought Billy Ray would have done real well, but he was a clutz!
It ought to be interesting this time around.

Mark Cuban resides in Dallas TX, his family originated from Russia, he's generally hot headed during NBA BB games, though an overall very nice individual, down to earth relates well to a lot of people.
Mark Cuban was the big bucks investing originally in Weblogs.Inc, which includes the blog I write for -- TV Squad. Now the company is owned by AOL, so I don't know if he's still an investor or not. He also hosted the canceled quickly reality show "The Benefactor" a while ago. I know someone once used the Mark Cuban name in responding to a post of mine, but that could have been a fake.
Either way, I hope he can dance!
Who? Who? and Who?.... Most seem very blah! I heard Tori wanted to do the show and I would have loved to see her on there. I watch her on "Tori & Dean Inn love" and get a kick out of her and her kooky ways. She was raised in wealth & glamour, but she is extremely real & down to earth for the most part.
