'Big Brother 8' - Into the Night Tuesday

Above, Daniele complains to her father that "they" never clean. Yes, she's cleaning. But it's usually Evel Dick doing the majority of the cleaning in the house.

Here are the happenings into the late-night hours of Tuesday from that Big Brother House of Mean Girls and Oddfellows:
  • Daniele once again assured Eric that Jessica is safe this week. (She lies.)
  • Eric and Daniele talked about how some people go on about how much they NEED the money and that shouldn't be a reason to win. They all want the money or they wouldn't be there and no one really can say that a life-changing amount of money is more worthy for one than another.
  • Eric thinks Jameka is upset with him because he will vote to save Jessica, not her.
  • Daniele reported her conversation with Eric to Dick. She said that Eric wanted to know so if Jessica is leaving, he can spend some good times with her. Daniele said she feels bad, but Dick told her not to -- they can say it was a last minute change of mind.
  • Dick thinks they can work out a deal with Eric after Jessica goes, Daniele disagrees.
  • Daniele and Dick argued about ice cream. @@
  • Daniele thinks Eric is the biggest complainer in the house. Dick told her that she is. Heh.
  • Daniele thinks the show must be boring people. Others pointed out that the feeds-watchers must really be bored. BINGO, we have a winner!
  • Daniele and Dick argued about where he should smoke.
  • Jameka asked Eric what he would do with $50,000 (second place) if he won it. He told her pay off bills, get ahead on his rent, probably take his family on a vacation.
  • Daniele wants Zach to write something about her and Nick's trip to the Serengeti in his HOH blog entry.
  • Daniele thinks that Nick probably mustarded Jen's shirt because he denied it so much.
  • Daniele told Dick that Jameka hates her, then told Zach that "they" hate her. (It's only fair -- half the time she's going on about how much she hates them all.)
  • Jameka thinks Dick is hated by his family. (The contrary seems to be true. It sounds like his mother and son really adore him and, in reading Daniele's LiveJournal, Dick was her idol until a few years ago. But he dated Jerri Manthey from Survivor and Daniele liked her. So, you can't always go by Daniele!)
  • Eric thinks that Daniele is different from Janelle because Janelle was a bitch to those she didn't like. (Umm...!)
  • Dick said Eric is the sloppiest person in the house -- spilling things, making messes and never cleaning up properly after himself.
  • Jameka thinks Dick looks after Daniele, but Daniele doesn't reciprocate.
  • They're bored.
  • So am I.

Jackie, I'm not positive, but when I read Jokers, I thought they said that Jameka said Dick is hated by HER family, not his.
I've also seen that Dani does do a lot more than any others in the house. Dick does do the majority of cooking, cleaning and laundry, but I have noticed quite often that Dani has helped, especially with the cleaning up after the others. Zach does do some cooking, but it appears he never cleans up after he does.
Along with this subject, Jameka had asked Jess and Eric who would be the one to do laundry when they "get together" and Jess immediately spoke up and said Eric, and then admitted that she didn't even know how to do laundry before coming into the house. She's 21 and didn't know how to do laundry?!?!? More proof of her being spoiled.
I know that Eric has done laundry, but has he or Jess done anything else in the house?
Also, not positive, but I think AP was to get Jameka evicted. Eric was just bashing her to Dick & Dani.

I can't thank you enough for your perseverance when you watch the houseguest, Jackie. I have the ShoToo, and tend to fast forward a lot of it lately. They ARE a boring bunch, and lazy.

We do have boring. I'm a little excited for double eviction. I can't wait to see how it's all going to work in one hour. I imagine the houseguests are going to notice that something is up when the pace of the show starts moving faster than usual. I think it would have to be a Q&A HOH so that it is timed right, and probably of the "what did you notice in the house" variety since they hinted with that windows number. I like those.
Happy back-to-school day here.
Here's hoping all your children have a healthy, happy, successful school year.

It really is getting boring! I too fast forward through most of the After Dark show. I never did vote last night but, I would like to see Eric have to vote against Jessica just to make things interesting.

I am still a fan of Daniele and Dick! She may be bratty but, if I had to watch and listen to my dad behave like that, it's whine too! I can't imagine my dad saying half of the crude disgusting things Dick says. But, having said thay he is loyal to her until the end. I really hope it's the two of them in the finale.

To win at this game, a player has to have be able to make the big play and still keep enough votes that they aren't the next out. Eric can't do that because of AP and D & D are the only ones who seem to understand the game. If Jessica had the guts to play the game, she would have shown it her last HOH. She lost her place as a contender when she failed to try to take out a power player. Jameka is working to stay, but has nothing to back her up because her alliance (Eric and Jess) is made up of weak players. Zach will be a pawn who might win a Veto to save himself. It is D & D's game only because they are the only ones playing it.

I don't know how well their team would have stacked up against hgs who actually tried to win or understood how to win. And, D & D are both students of the game,

And, after their win, I don't see a good future for them as a team, especially since their 'estangement' seemed to be over money. If Da wins 1st place, Di will still want to tell her how to spend it...and horrors, what if he suggested she get some higher education? Their snipping will continue. I read on Daniele's journal (thank you, thank you, Deanna) that Dick drives a Vet. That made me laugh. Daniele is beautiful, but will she use her winnings for cosmetic surgery (very unnecessary cosmetic surgery, I will add) Someone said she threw up after eating, does that happen often, or was it just a one time thing?

My waffling is done. I was for Jessica because I heard she had two jobs and the cheerleading gig outside the house and that made here seem like a hard worker who was trying to get a degree and make something of herself. Maybe all true, but she fails as a BB player and that is all that counts in the game. And she certainly has had time to rest up from over work since she has slept through this season. I have to be for the D & D team and wish it would be a tie, as I would like to see them equally win, since Da couldn't have still been there without her dad and his game certainly would have been better without the albatross he protected. I am for a tie winner this year...and if Jen really left (which I don't for a minute think she did), a tie would be her revenge on the house and fun to watch. Maybe a tie isn't even necessary since the two played as a team and should get voted one vote as a team.
Jess home this time, Zach or Jameka next, depending on how HOH goes, and then we see the real BB BORE fest of the last days as D & D sit out the remainder of the season. Yeah, I know, I left out Eric in that, I tend to close my eyes to him, I do hope BB has a camera on Jessica's face when the AP player reveal comes around. Thanks Jackie, Sue

Jameka is really starting to irritate me almost as bad a Amber. I can't even stand looking at her face anymore. She takes everything so personal and she is not a good person, very ugly and selfish inside and it shows.

Anonymous said...

The thought crossed my mind, since CBS is so helpful at the right time in this game, will it turn out to be Eric who is the next HOH? I cannot recall for sure if the past seasons had one week where one of the HG had a shorter week being HOH.

I know it has been posted somewhere, however I forgot when BB is to end.

I must say that Zack did make me laugh when he commented about Dick acting like he was sixteen and getting ready for the prom. Funny how the younger ones picked up on his actions towards Janelle and made them look like they were the older ones for a change. Too funny!

It should be interesting seeing how the jury will see things this season and who they will vote to win. It has been such a different season of players that it makes it hard to think like them.

I guess we will be finding out soon.

Totally agree, as I had mentioned yesterday. I really think D/D are the only two real "players" in the house.

Eric is James. Thinks he's a player, but really has no game.

And, just to get all the D/D haters in an uproar, but D/D remind me a lot of Chilltown last season: hated early, targetted early, still around at the end by a combination of luck, strategy, and good timing on changing alliances.

I still can't believe that Jessica isn't doing ANYTHING to make sure she can save herself. It really goes back to her loyalty to Jameeka (always a mistake in this game). LAST WEEK, when Eric had POV and Amber was the target, E/J could have worked out a deal with Zack to use POV on him, use Jameeka as a pawn, still vote out Amber and have Zack in their court. (Just one of about a dozen plays they could have made last week.) Instead, Jess just "uh-huh, uh-huh"'ed her way through every conversation with Zack and was an obvious target when Zack won HOH.

Now, even though Jess appears convinced that D/D are going to oust her, she doesn't even try to work a deal with anyone. She just tells Eric to take care of it. She should also be working on throwing Jameeka under a bus or Eric (before POV ceremony). She obviously doesn't really care for Eric, you could see it in the way she treated him after she got nominated.

I've noticed that whenever Eric kisses Jessica she never responds. I mean even when she wasn't mad at him. That's probably how she would be in marriage. During love making she'd probably stare at the ceiling and say: "We really need to change these ceiling tiles". That's how much emotion she has.

I voted for Jameka only because even tho Jess is a 'mean girl' it doesn't mean I have to be and I agree with whoever said Jess would be hurt if it was a 3-0 vote.

If America does vote to have Eric vote out Jess (and I kind of doubt they will because so far they've had no imagination, sense of adventure or desire to shake up the game with their votes) then the reaction to watch is going to be Eric's! He has really fallen for her and he is going to be shocked and horrified when he opens that envelope and sees her name. He won't understand how America could do that to him. Jess will be mad for sure but since she doesn't really care for Eric and wouldn't hesitate to do it to him if things were reversed I don't think she'll be as surprised as everyone thinks. Don't get me wrong she'll be furious, but Eric will be inconsolable especially since he won't be able to warn Jess and he will realize that it could be the end of their relationship - which of course it will be but because she's not into him and has just been using him.

I have been with D&D from the get go becuase they have always been a target. Eric is gonig to be pissed, but what can he do? He is the good at manipulating situations, but horrible at comps. He has to win this next one or he is going home to be with Jessica. This is tricky, Jameka could end up in the final three.

I think Jameka is a good person but has baggage/experiences that come to the surface at times that make her come across as Hypocritical. She came in the house talking about not ever dealing "white people".

The best part of the whole show for me was seeing Janelle..and reminding me what the game is all about. I seriously agree with you all that have commented...some of these people act like they never watched the show. whereas Dick and Dani at least have some kind of plan. It could seriously be them in the final two, and he would be elated...
I dont think Jess would keep interested in Eric after the game...her family will take care of that one.
thanks JACKIE!!!!
You rock!!
this has been the most boring for you....and you have made it interesting for us in spite of the show

Jess doesn't look like she's "into" Eric's kisses...talk about a corpse...and there is even a trace of the "cringe" factor in her body language when he's snuggling and ministering to her. Like them or not, and for me definitely not, D&D are the only two left in the house who came with a game and played it. So sadly, they deserve to win. I agree with everyone who says that Jessica has been way too passive...she had her moment last week, didn't take it, and will now blame Eric for bad advice. But in this game you need to have your own strategy and play your own game. I think her "game" was a shomance and it didn't work out for her...so now she can dump Eric without a look back and will always think he was his fault she got the boot, not seeing it was her own bad play. I think D&D are both unpleasant people I would never want to be around, but at least they clean the house and play the game. If only Dick wasn't such a pig and Dani such a self centered complainer. The girl needs an education...maybe the money she wins will enable her to go to school and improve herself so that at her father's age she's made more of her life than he has. One or both of them will be in the finals.

Anonymous said...

The big difference between D&D and ChillTown is the ability to win comps vs manipulation. If I am not mistaken, Will never won a HOH or POV. Mike Boogie finally won when his coattails got pulled (Will). D&D are not even close on the manipulation side. DIck has done well at creating diversions and protecting Dani. She would have be gone....

Anonymous said...

OMG!! I hate Danielle! When she is on, I have to fast forward. Her whiney voice just gets on my last nerve. She is still only there because of her father and thinks it is all great strategy on her part. Get over yourself already. I am really looking forward to the end when she really sees how she is portrayed as the whiney brat we all see. She will then be really frustraaaaaaaated!! I have to admit though, this is a very boring bunch and hope to see Jameka sitting there at the end, since every one of them think she has no game and have left her there so long. What a joy that would be!

With Jess a goner, I hope Eric gets the boot in the double eviction. I'm sick of "America's player." I cringe whenever I see his dorky ways and @@.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone notice that through all that emotion Eric was expressing for losing the comp and giving her the call, Jess was virtualy emotionless. Did she really try to console him? Duh! he is thinking about you!!

While not as shallow as Jen, Jessica is not far behind. It is going to do Eric good for her to be gone so he can focus on winning.

Eric appears to be questioning Dick and then grasping at straws to believe him when Dick says Jess is "safe." If he had a drop of sense or intuition he'd see he was being lied to...it was patently obvious in the pool that Dick was not being forthright. Eric just "wants" to believe at this point but in his heart he has to know it buh bye Jess. This is D&D big moment to attack as it was Jess's last week.

Anonymous said...

When Dick takes off his shirt it's hard to believe he has so many "tats." What a case of arrested development...the guy could clean up nicely if he ever grew up. Can you image how pathetic he'll be at 54 or 64 as those tats shrivel up. Not a pretty visual. He's aleady pretty loose skinned around the belly...the guy needs to work out big time.

Jackie...you are allways very fair minded in your writings about BB. Who would you like to see win this year? And do you think Jess played a good game? This does appear to be her swan song week. Dick and Dani have played the more active game...him with strategy and Dani winning when she needed to.

Anonymous said...

meb--Oh those senior moments--if we're not losing things we're repeating them.....LOL

As you can tell I lost my blue too. That's OK black always makes me look thinner!!

Anonymous said...

Maybe Eric is pushing to get D&d to vote Jam out, because he knows he has to vote for Jess because of AP's vote. I really think that BB will rig this so he doesn't have to vote her out, even if our vote was for her.

I also agree with the poster who said they wouldn't be surprised if BB made it possible for Eric to win HOH in the double eviction. That's the only time he can play without us telling him what to do,other than after the 12th,apparently. This whole season seems so scripted, but I hope Dani can keep up her win record and win HOH again. Then Jameka HAS to go or they will have a hard time winning against her with all her buddies on the jury.Eric will be useless in any endurance comp,he has no staying power and his whittle heart will be bruised by the absence of his "showmance".

Chauncey said...

Someone mentioned before that Eric throws comps on purpose and i did not believe it, but after watching the last two i think that he does. I know it was slippery but the way he fell and the amount of times kind made me raise an eyebrow. Then in the POV comp he exaggerated stumbling when he got out of the spinning chair and he looked like he kind of taking his time.

I think that he wants Jessica gone because he knows he can't beat her in the end and like Dani says if someone else gets rid of her his hands are clean. He goes to Jameka all teary eyed and tells her that he feels responsible knowing that she will go and tell Jess. He had to know that D&D would turn on them as soon as they got a chance and that Zach was pissed about being put up and yet he insisted that Amber leave. I think he is just trying to make it look good because if he had anything to do with Jess being voted out he would look like a bigger jerk than boogie, because everbody loves Jess and how could he betray her like that.

It would be funny if somehow Jameka manages to get thru to the end and wins.

Who would Eric put up if he wins HOH?

Anonymous said...

nana in nw...LOL

Wouldn't it be funny if they vote Jess out and then Jameka gets nominated again and then wins POV...and then she wins HOH ... (her not being able to compete would have to be up by then) and then she puts up D&D and ultimately gets to F2 with either Zack or one of the D's. She'd win!

Yes...that would be funny indeed!

Jackie S. said...

Alice - That's possible. I was washing dishes at the time and might have missed part of the conversation. It makes more sense that her family would "hate" him.

Nancy - I don't think Jessica has played a good game. For most of her game she's either slept or depended on Eric. Of those left, I rank her at the bottom for actually PLAYING the game.

I rank Jameka a bit above Jessica more due to circumstance. She hasn't been able to compete for HOH and built a non-threatening strategy around that. However, I think Jessica is stronger in comps. So, they're both at the bottom of my list with Jameka only slightly above Jessica. To me, both are easily expendable and I wouldn't miss either one.

I'd rank Zach a bit higher than Jessica and Jameka. I think he actually tries to think strategy and, until the numbers got down, he was sailing through by promising votes and keeping his word. Alas for Zach in the game, he doesn't seem to be a particularly sneaky guy and BB usually needs a bit of sneak in there to make it to the end. Because he is a guy and a big one at that, he can't float to the end like Lisa Donahue did.

Then we have Eric. I think his facial expressions and squirminess tend to do him in, but he does have game. As AP, he's had to do some stupid things and cover his tracks and he hasn't really been able to play his own game. I can only wonder how he would have played the game without the AP influence. I think he's honestly smitten with Jessica, more than she is with him. I think he could be a contender, but being AP has ruined any prospects of winning the game.

Then we have the Donatos. Daniele is strong in comps, but I can't get her fussing, whining, and complaining out of my head when I think of her. She's very young. I think she has a chance to win it all, but she wouldn't be my choice for the winner.

Then there's Evel Dick. I wish he hadn't used his intimidation strategy at the beginning of the game. He really turned me off with some of the cussing at people and his control issues. Since he's calmed down, I think he's probably got the best thinking strategy left in the house. He has a conscience about betraying alliances, but also thinks of getting ahead in the game and how it might be necessary. I'd rather see him win than Daniele.

I do think that the Donato Duo has a rather unfair advantage against the others in the show. The bond between the two, despite their issues, is too strong for the rest of the houseguests to fight. One of them should have been taken out way earlier in the game. Since that didn't happen, it's quite possible they'll (or at least one of them) be the Final Two.

Anonymous said...

Jess is far more intuitive in reading people than Eric and she KNOWS it is going to be her this week. I don't think she is strategizing because she has given up. Her "game" was the shomance and it didn't pan out. I think she's bitter but has accepted the reality of her leaving Thursday. She has asked Eric if he thinks it will be a double eviction and of course dodo assures her no, but Jess I think is hoping he gets the boot too or at least someone to accompany her into sequester.

Anonymous said...

I'd love to see Zach or Jam win HOH this week...at least it wouldn't be so BORING as D&D rule and smugness. I want Eric the faker gone. He throws comps but even if he didn't he's awkward and couldn't win anyhow.

Anonymous said...

I really don't think Eric was faking either the falls or the coming out of the spinning chair. It was too funny and he's not that good. Looked real to me anyway.

Chauncey we were on the same wave length there aboout Jameka. Maybe her giving up all those HOH comps was good strategy whether by design or not to get her thru to the end.

It certainly would change up the game a bit.

Joe in NY said...

Jameeka must have meant Dick's family. She has no contact with her family and wouldn't know what they thought. If she said "her family", she probably meant Dani.

As for the Chilltown, D&D comparison I made earlier and some comments people made about it. Yes, D&D are better at comps, but that's because Chilltown threw them all. Chilltown was smoother at their manipulations, but I'm not sure they were more manipulative.

If you get over the rough edges of D/D (and they have a ton of them), they are, so far, as successfully manipulative as Chilltown. Dick was G-O-N-E and they not only managed to save him with help from E/J, they managed to turn Eric (who they tried desparately to get out after Nick's eviction) into such a believer that he hung with them last week despite what his honey was telling him.

Will was smooth and a complete liar, but Dick has been effective as a bully and truth-teller (well, up until THIS WEEK!). But they were equally effective.

Mike Boogie would do his little Will errands, planting seeds. Much like Dani has been doing for her Dad.

In some ways, I think D/D is a more powerful team than Chilltown because Dani is a much better competitor than Boogie. Dani is sort of a cross between Janie and Mike Boogie.

If you are looking for weird correlations:

Dani + Dad + Zack = Dr. Will + Boogie + Janelle + Erika

(Sorry Zack, you are Erika!!!)

I also think you can throw Eric in their as a virtual clone of James.

And, that said, I think BB8 is closer to BB7 than people want to admit (because they love/hate Dr. Will/Janelle so much). I think this has been a pretty good season. Not the BEST, but better than a lot of them!

Chauncey said...

Meb, at first I didn't think that Eric was throwing comps before but is he really that clumsy? Maybe, but it is funny. As for Jameka, she probably did not plan on it working out for her like this, but i have said it before, not being able to compete for HOH has helped her. All she has to do now is win POV's and she can make it to the end and she has done reasonably well in POV comps so she has a very good chance of pulling it off. Dani would be the favorite in the comps but the rest would be equal. It would be a nice change seeing her win HOH because then the Donatos would lose some of their swagger because they know one of them will be going home. I know a lot of people do not like floaters, but this was a good season for that strategy to work. ED brought so much tension, intimidation and hatefullness in the house that it was wise to make friends with people and let the enemies take each other out. ED focused his attention on Mike, Nick, Kail, Jen, and Dustin and Jameka stayed out of the way.

I don't usually disagree with you joe in ny, but IMO this has been the worse season of any... boring, mostly. Probably because I couldn't get behind any one group like we did with All Stars, loved Janelle et al, and didn't hate Dr. Will. Made it so much fun.

That's it, this year has not been fun. I've just been anxious to get to each next eviction so it can all be over.

That only happened with All Stars when it was Janelle, Boogie and Ericka and Ericka had turned on Janelle. Then I wanted it over.

However, I did hang in this year and will watch it again if they do another one. Has anyone seen any promotions regarding signing up to be a hg for BB9? Sounds like a bunch of us should sign up for it. I could be the house mother and no dirty connotation meant.

I totally agree with that! Of course, I think Jessica will be furious but not because she's smitten. I still think the real Jessica is who we saw with Carol and who came back after nomination. It does look like Eric really likes her. Of course, he's not sacrificing any money because of her.

One thought I had is that it's far easier for Jessica to be suspicious about D/D lying and planning to oust her because she knows she was ready to do the same in a heartbeat. For some reason (any number of plausible ones have been put out there by other posters) Eric still trusts D/D or wants to.

It will be very interesting to see who the next HOH will be and how fast they think with instant noms.

Joe in NY said...

Chancey,

Jameeka can't even play HOH until final 4. By then, even a D/D nomination wouldn't guarantee that one of them would go home, pending POV outcome.

Meb,

Feel free to disagree, I know many people do when it comes to BB8.

In part, I think the editing has been poor at times. And CBS hasn't given them as many toys, games and liquor as years past. But, setting that aside, I'm just saying that I don't think the actual unfolding of events in the house was particularly more dramatic or poignant or exciting. I think some of the show editing was better, but I blame a lot of that on AP. We're obliged to spend 10 minutes (or more) per night catching up on Eric's DR AP sessions and seeing his execution. Imagine last season if we were forced to spend 10-15 minutes watching James whine! :)

Eric just isn't that dynamic an individual. And his twitching eyes and erratic eyebrows are downright irritating at times. In past years, we would have seen much less of someone like him, but because of AP we've seen more of him than other, more dynamic people.

It kind of seems like CBS put all of their planning into AP and didn't bother thinking up other things for HGs to do.

I also think a lot of the current complaining is coming from people who miss (get ready!) the Old Dick!!! Remember how livid everyone was in those early weeks: "he's an abuser", "CBS should throw him out", "Jen should sue Dick". Those were lively times in the house and on the boards! Even though everyone said they hated him, he was stirring things up CONSTANTLY!

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know why they aren't showing the sequestered houseguests yet? Don't they usually show them arriving by now?

Dick's sputum disgusts me. For goodness sake he is spitting on astroturf and everyone walks around barefoot. I would evict him or have to leave the house just based on that. ICK!

Anonymous said...

The grandkids are off to school--yeah!!! Now I have time to respond to a few comments:

CBS issued a statement saying they would not be showing the SH until the finale--much speculation that Jen never went there
or they have the evictees in different locations because of personl conflicts. Regardless, we will not get to see the reactions of evicted HG coming into SH(another screw-up by CBS).

Eric did appear to be clumsy and stumbling on the POV comp. but I remember when they did the spinning mushrooms he commented that he has problems with motion sickness and equilibrum.

NOBOBY LOOKS LIKE A BIGGER JERK THAN BOOGIE--he used Erika like an old blanket and then called her vulgar names in the DR.

I believe Eric is truly smitten with Jess. and she was with him-for awhile-I would probably be done with him also. The constant "mauling" her, not really giving her space, and always needing
re-assurance of what he is
saying and doing. Enough already!! The man is 27 but acts 16 when it comes to Jess.

At the POV Janelle appeared to be all about Janelle(surprise!!). It was just another 15 mins. of fame for her.....and why was she allowed to talk to them?? When Marcellas hosted one he only spoke as it related to the comp. Little comments made give the HG hints as to how they are being protrayed on the show.

Lots of complaints about Jess being in bed and not doing much but if you remember that is exactly what Dani did when Nick was in the house. It was only after he left that she started mingling with the other HG. If Nick was still there I think she and Nick would be like Eric/Jess(only alot more action under the covers).

Jackie you must not work at your job that takes you out of the house on Wed.--
you seem to be around to comment midday.

To Nana in NW,

I still love Janelle!!!

As for people criticizing Jess for laying around, it's just that she's doing it while nominated and blaming Eric for not saving her. In general, I don't care if she's dancing around all the time, or even if she avoids the other HGs. BUT, you can't go into a hole when you are on the block and expect to be seen as a good player.

Lets not forget back when Dick was trying to get Eric evicted, Jessica jumped right on the band wagon saying he was staring at her and making her uncomfortable, etc. I think she is totally using him. He is so gross!

Jameeka must have meant Dick's family. She has no contact with her family and wouldn't know what they thought. If she said "her family", she probably meant Dani.

I watched this on ShoToo, they were speculating who's liked and who's hated by America. Eric was saying something like America probably likes Dick more than they think and Jameeka said "not my family". Given his treatment of her she's assuming her family doesn't like Dick, which wouldn't be much of a stretch.

I agree about the spitting...that is a bodily fluid and Dick is such a promiscuous guy I'd hate to be stepping on his sputum...ugh. Probably spits in the shower and pool too. He has gross habits for a man of 44. He mentioned he'd rather have been locked in with his ex-wives (plural) no surprise there. Can you imagine being his wife? Double ugh.

Chauncey said...

Nana, you are right that guy was a big time jerk. I would have loved to seen her face when she saw the show and seen how badly she was being used. I think she liked him but now that she is going home she has cooled off and i don't see them together after the show.

I think Thursday is shaping up to be the best hour of BB this summer...lots to look forward to no matter how it works out. The end game is always the best even if your favs don't win...

Jackie, I totally agree with your ranking of the HGs. I would be soooo disappointed if a floater won. The whole idea of this show is to PLAY the game.

Eric annoys me to no end and though he has made some good

plays, I don't think he's all that great at it. I agree though, that his game may have been different without the AP.

Dani drives me nuts, too, and she's played well enough that I think she deserves to be there still. I hope she doesn't screw up her dad's chances somehow especially after he saved her butt.

Dick is,IMO, the best player in the house. A lot of people disagree on that, but I think he will probably be in the F2 and I just hope the jury will vote on game-playing and not personal feelings.

Alas, I think the latter is more likely and if Dani is the other half of the F2, I have a feeling that if she wins, she will give Dick the ultimate back door. She will most likely simply dismiss the fact that she wouldn't be in that position without Dear Old Dad since she strikes me as a very me-me-me kind of girl.

But I'm crossing my fingers and toes because Dick deserves this win hands-down.

joe in ny--I agree about Jess. If your up for eviction you don't go to bed and complain about it.
GET OFF YOUR A** AND DO
SOMETHING!!! This is a game and only you control your destiny--don't count on others to do your bidding!! Although she has worked job I believe she is used to being taken care of(Mom and Dad). And she still has the "sorority girl/college"
mindset. There is nothing wrong with that but it doesn't work in this game.

As much as I hate to type it--and my fingers are cramping doing so--I do think out of those left Dick should win--ONLY BECAUSE HE HAS PLAYED THE GAME FROM THE BEGINNING!!
However, I agree with an earlier commenter that D/D
had an unfail advantage. Even if they were estranged they had that family bond that made them an alliance before the game started. The other pairs were done with each other and had not reconciled when Carol or Joe were evicted.

I would like to see a BB with people who have never seen the show or know how it played--it would be so different from this year!!!

You can't cast based on people saying they've never seen the show...for all you know they've watched every season...there is a lot of lying going on when applying for reality shows. I just hope they have a more diverse group next year in age, education, work experience, etc. We'd all enjoy a lively group who can "talk" for those with live feeds. These people have nothing to say to one another. Has any of them ever read a book they could discuss...read a paper? Seen a movie? Been to a museum? Sports event? Do any of them have any opinions on anything other than themselves and God?

I really have to disagree with the statement that ED deserves to win more than anyone else. Remember he did not get voted out because Eric swayed the vote to Dustin. He did when the POV but he gave it up for his unappreciative brat. I do agree that he is the one thinking the most though. But whoever manages to get to the end, deserves it.

Anonymous said...

I'll be really surprised if this jury votes based on game playing vs. personal feelings. As much as it does seem like Dick has been actively playing the game the most, his "game" was of a very vicious type and he really hammered some of the jury members on a very personal level. If he were to make it to the F2, I would be surprised if they don't vote personally as well.

Maybe I'm underestimating those in the jury...and it will be interesting to find out!

Joe in NY said...

Chauncey,

I have to disagree about ED. No one in the history of the show has ever been saved from elimination except by other people in the house.

He won POV, saved his daughter (could have saved himself) and then worked out a deal with Eric to save himself.

Why is that any less noteworthy than Dr. Will having himself put up and talking everyone into voting for the other person?

Rarely does anyone go through the entire game without getting nominated once. It's how you survive it that separates the winners from the losers.

Eric was up, but was saved by Dustin and LNC. Then Dick was up and was saved by E/J, Dani and Zack. Then Zack was up and was saved by E/J and D/D. It's the nature of the game.

Joe in NY said...

To Sasha,

I don't think I could have played like Dick. But it was within the rules (barely at times) and apparently effective. I would never hang out with Dick, but I get tired of people always complaining that they are above such tactics. Maybe they are, but then they get to ride home with Mike, integrity intact.

Dr. Will was the most dishonest player in history, but people like him because he was pretty and suave. He also quietly bullied people (as opposed to noisy Dick). He had Janelle so turned around that she booted out all of her friends on BB7.

Dick never hit anyone (iced tea doesn't count). He cursed and yelled, but it worked. If you can't take the heat, stay off of BB.

Chauncey said...

Sasha, i agree with you, if ED is in the F2 the vote will be personal, because he went way too far. The only person he might be able to win against is Dani. If she makes it that far everyone will remember she is only there because Daddy saved her. He has a slim chance against Eric and Zach. He would certainly lose to Jameka and Jess. You got to figure Dustin, Jen, Amber, Jameka and Jessica will not vote for him and thats the winning votes right there.

Has any of them ever read a book they could discuss...read a paper? Seen a movie? Been to a museum? Sports event? Do any of them have any opinions on anything other than themselves and God?

We must be watching different shows, Nancy! I can’t believe you’re questioning the cultural and social aptitude of a group of people who spend all day napping and all night playing beer pong. Well, at least until the beer runs out. Then it’s onto their other expertise:

Dick: spitting, swearing, misogyny
Zach: frisbee, wearing a bunny suit
Eric: apologizing, sucking face and, uh, pleasuring himself
Daniele: whining, changing outfits, wearing Nick’s bandana
Jess: sleeping, drinking (oh, wait, she has no other expertise)
Jameka: righteous indignation

Well, really, who wouldn’t want to invite these folks over for dinner…uh, OK, now that I think of it, I would probably turn off the lights, pull down the blinds, and FSA if any of them showed up at my door. (BTW, FSA = fake sleep alliance, one of my favorite Big Brotherisms from this season)

And, to chime in on the Dick vs Dr Will comparison…there is no comparison in my mind. And not because Will was “pretty” or charming, but because he was intelligent, quick-witted and fun, and was an expert at manipulation and strategy. I’m not buying the idea that Dick is a great strategist, just because he made it this far. Not saying he lacks intelligence, but he’s playing against a bunch of immature, self-centered boneheads, so who wouldn’t look smart in that group? And he changes his mind at the drop of a hat, mostly based on emotional reactions. That’s not great strategy.

Putting aside personal likes/dislikes (cause there’s really no one I actually like at this point), I would say Daniele has been the best strategist, especially after Nick left. She worked Zach over like a pro, and usually prompts Dick to think a few steps ahead. And Eric’s strategy was pretty good, but I think he’s approaching a personal meltdown, so I don’t expect much endgame from him.

Clementine. I too think Eric is ready to lose it and when Jessica goes, I believe he'll be the one to go to bed and not come out.

Either that, or he'll be so angry at D&D that he'll finally start his game (which will also be sad cause he doesn't seem to be able to accomplish any task and I don't believe that's put on... he's just so un-coordinated).

Sydney said...

Nancy in Washington -- EXCELLENT comment. Hello!

All I can imagine is that they are so zoned out from the dysfunction that's been in the house that they've lost any possibilities of that kind of creativity (a discussion of movies or books). Now that's it's down to the little numbers, we are not seeing the gameplay intensifty like it has in the past, but it's almost as if some of them have run out of gas and lost focus if they had any to begin with. It's been a bad season for the aspects that we love to watch.

Anonymous said...

Meb - I agree about Eric being uncoordinated. I don't think he threw those last 2 comps. And, at this point, he either needs to be on top of his game strategically (which he's not, considering how quickly he believes D/D's lies) or able to win some comps, which I just don't see happening. Unless maybe the HOH comp tomorrow night is BB trivia, because he might be able to win that. If he's not a pile of stuttering jello, after Jess gets voted out. :))

Anonymous said...

I don't necessarily think the jury will vote personally. In their post eviction interviews, Jen and Dustin came off very maturely and didn't seem to hold grudges towards anyone in the house. When it comes time for the jury to deliberate I think the level headed Jen or Dustin will start talking about game play. It happens every season...we think they're going to vote personally then when the jury talks, someone mentions game play and the personal feelings get put aside...

Joe in NY said...

To Clementine,

I wasn't suggesting the Dick and Dr. Will are clones, I just get tired of Dick being everyone's villain and Will being everyone's hero. Personally, I didn't LIKE either one of them, but I was AMUSED by both of them. And I fail to see a significant moral difference between someone who yells to get his way and someone who lies and manipulates to get his way. All just part of the game.

To be fair to the HGs, they do talk about life and such, it rarely gets shown on the primetime show. And, I'm not sure how deep and personal a conversation among strangers and adversaries could ever be. Janelle and Will and Boogie and Howie were amusing, but they were never very deep in their conversations either.

If you want fun, try BB. If you want depth and insight, try PBS! ;)

wow, you're really editorializing more in your live feed recaps these days.

Your point Anon 5:05? I always have done so.

Joe in NY -

Oh, I agree about the moral ambiguities of Will's gameplay and manipulations. In my post I was comparing Will and Dick as strategists, and my opinion remains that Dick does not stand up to comparison in that area. Dick was the original waffler of the Waffle Alliance, and seemed to have a kind of ADHD when it came to making decisions and sticking with them. I think that has improved some (and I give some credit to Dani in that area for keeping him on track), but Will was definitely IMO the master strategist. Unfortunately, his arrogance came back to do him in, with a little help from the master competitor, Janelle.

Now, if you want to talk morality, I've heard more misogynistic filth come from Dick's mouth in the last few months than I have ever heard in my life. (Which, I guess, is lucky for me, that I've never encountered someone like him.) I think people can sometimes overlook what he says, because he is funny and does have a certain charm. And I'm not talking about cursing or bullying or yelling. Those words are too mild for his verbal abuse, including comments about anal rape, etc. And I don't believe that language is all about strategy, I do believe he is fairly representing who he is in the outside world. And verbal abuse is abuse, ask anyone who's ever been on the receiving end.

I am able to separate my opinion of Dick on a personal level from his gameplay, and I think I did pretty well in representing those thoughts in my previous post. Just wanted to address your comment about morality.

Sharing opinions on books and movies...rap stars, bands, sports, whatever doesn't require PBS programming; it's FUN to do so and to listen to others express their preferences and why. It's something to do other than spit, sleep around the clock, smoke, fart, suck face and generally act like idiots. In other years the houseguests were more "conversationally fluent."
Fun and conversation are not polar opposites.

Sydney said...

Clementine and Meb -- I also don't think Eric threw the last 2 competitions.

And Clementine, lol, it just struck me -- how do you like the name of The Stuttering Jello-s for a rock band?

Anonymous said...

Hmmmm, ORKMommy, I hope you're right. Like I said, I may be underestimating the HG Jury and it will be interesting to find out what really happens. I would like it if they went by their opinions of gameplay rather than personal feelings. We'll see.

To Jackie...I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I totally ENJOY your editorializing. It's what sets you apart and shows your marvelous sense of humor and way with words and eyerolls @@.

To Joe in NY: I'm not sure if you thought I was somehow casting aspersions about Dick's tactics but I wasn't, or at least didn't mean to. Although I really don't like it when he gets very vulgar and vile, I actually find him quite amusing at times. It surprises me that I do, but it happens.

As for Will, I'm not and never was a fan. He seems SO popular that I rarely even deal with it but in his season I strongly disliked him, very strongly. In All Stars I guess I was just resigned to his popularity and I'm still not a fan. I guess my HUGE distaste for Mike Malin (lol I can't even stand to use his nickname) overshadowed the Will thing. Whew, it felt good to confess my dislike for Will :)

Hope you're right Orkmommy. I think there will probably be some "sour grapes" votes from Amber, Jameka and Jessica should the latter two end up in SH with Amb, even though they would have done the same to D&D if they'd played wiser. If Zach ends up there, I think he would vote fsirly. Guess we won't know until the very end. I'm rooting for Dick until he's out or he wins.
