'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Into Monday Morning 9/10

As I post this, Daniele is the only person up in the house and she's making her infamous cookies. It makes me wonder if that's all she makes at her own home! All had gone to bed earlier, but Daniele apparently can't sleep so it's cookie time.

When told that it was September 9, not the 11th, Jameka really doesn't believe it. They talked about previous houseguests, the mustarding (they think either Nick or Eric did it), the banner planes the one week. It's just been rehashing the past. While Jameka hung out with Daniele and Dick, Zach was more distant.

Still no brouhahas.

You know this has gotten so boring that I barely keep myself informed. This blog gives me a little chuckle at times but I have lost interest in this season. With Jameka being evicted next the final 3 competition could be a relatively quick affair. If Zach gets out in round 1 they might as well go straight to the eviction. No need to play round 2 or 3. I don't think it will matter much which D gets HOH. There will be no big climatic moment.

Sometimes Daniele's cooking making makes me want to run to my kitchen and make some, and sometimes it makes me think I'll never make cookies again...lol...all I think of is hands and feet.
I read Sue's comment on the previous thread questioning the editing of last night's show.
It certainly served to cast everyone in a terrible light.
Maybe the crew is sick and tired of all of them.

I am seeing no reason to watch the last few episodes. Jameka is the only person in the house now that I would want to win, and of course, she is gone tomorrow night. I just hope that Zach beats the D's in the last HOH comp so that at least one of them is gone. I don't like Zach either, but he is better than either of the Donatos.
Boy, I hope that next year is a better cast and more exciting show than this year has been. I have never liked a slam dunk in reality tv and this year has been just that. None of the houseguests seemed to want to make a big move.
Thanks Jackie for all of your time and effort in trying to make this season better than it really was. You are the best!!

tessa: if Zack gets out in round 1, he gets to play in round 2. The winners of 1 and 2 play round 3.

Now if he loses in round 2, then it's all over for him.

meb said...

I should add, "so whoever wins 1 and whoever wins 2 goes on to play round 3." Zack has an equal chance to win all or none, just as the D&Ds do.

I just hope Dani doesn't get to play in round 3. It would be great if she loses in both 1 and 2. Zack would then play ED and it would be a more fair competition since neither of them do so well.

Then the winner of 3 picks who he'll go to jury with. If it's Zack, he'll take Dick I would think.

Anonymous said...

Meb,
Definitely wishful thinking. Not only does Zach have a snowballs chance in hell of winning 2 out of the 3 competitions (and getting to choose Dick to go to the finals with him), but the likelihood Danielle will lose the first two competitions is even less. Sadly, the Donatos have this season all but wrapped up. It makes me sick that they are so smug about it. I hope Zach wins at least one of the first two so Dick doesn't just hand over the win of the 3rd to Daniele like she has asked him to do.

Anonymous said...

If Zach wins the last HOH, he says he's taking Daniele to final 2. I think he would stand a better chance of winning jury votes against her (although it would be difficult). Daniele can make the "best player" case for her comp wins, but most of those people don't like her personally (IMO). Dick, on the other hand, had a personal relationship with most of them (except Jen) even though they may be angry at him.

The endurance comp on Tues is always my favorite - who can hold onto the key the longest? It's do or die, and I can feel my hands getting sweaty just thinking about it!

Hey Deanna,
The Donato's wouldn't say things to Zach's face? Are you kidding me? Of course they are such good people with the constant stream of filth they spew behind his and everyone else's back. Please...they may have won the game but don't try to make me believe that it's only in the heat of the moment that they might make a nasty comment or two. They are two of the most vile, self absorbed people I have ever had the displeasure to watch. Dick is abusive plain and simple and Danielle is nothing but a spolied whiney brat. The fact that they think it's alright for them to screw everyone over cause it's "strategy" but when someone does it to them it's completely "unfair" is crap - which is not surprising really since that is all they are full of - crap and evil. Too bad the money won't make them grow up or become decent human beings.

Anonymous said...

this is just like the bb season when the final two were jun and allison. the jury made their votes as the lesser of two evils. i still remember how shocked the final two looked as people cast their votes and went on to read later how "hurt" allison had been.
i can't believe anyone on the jury will be able to cast a vote feeling any type of admiration for a game well played. thieves and robbers may aquire money and goods....but it doesn't mean they deserve it.

anon 8:31...Zack had a snowballs chance of winning the HOH and the POV too, but stuff happens.

We'll just have to wait and see won't we.

I still want Zack to win.

Joe in NY said...

Just to follow up on my "Zack is an idiot" campaign. I would also like to add that "Zack is as evil as Dick" and "Zack is as arrogant as Dani". He's got the worst of everybody!!!

People (Orkmommy, I'm looking at you!) want to give credit for Zack taking a stand against Dick. That's laughable - where was Zack's stand when Dick's alliance benefitted him? Remember, D/D saved Zack and booted Amber.

Zack also could have backdoored Dani when he had POV and taken a stand then, but stayed with D/D. Why? Well, for the obvious reason: he didn't know he was going to win HOH and if one of the Ds won it, he wanted to still be aligned with them so that Jameka would be the target.

IMHO, you can't feed at the trough and claim to be superior to the pigs. His "principled" stand against the Ds now is because he knows only the comps matter and he doesn't need them anymore.

So, what does he do, he urinates all over his former allies, riles up the Evil One when he didn't have to, and people want to give him credit for gamesmanship?!?!

Dick yelling at Zack before POV is better gamesmanship than Zack's nominations or sudden Jameka alliance. (Even though many of us cringe at Dick's rather rough-edged psych warfare.)

Zack's big play was the one he didn't make, saving Eric and backdooring Dani.

Zack's sudden finding of God was the realization that only Jameka would choose Zack to go to the Final 2. The Ds would obviously take each other.

If you think Zack is a genius, he should have crunched the numbers in the Final 5 and realized the only way to sway the odds in his favor was to turn on the Ds then. He waited to long and I can't believe anyone on this board is going to cheer him for sucking up to Dick all year and spitting at him when it no longer mattered.

Yes, Zack won 2 HOHs down the stretch. Kudos. But winning his way into the final 2 is his only option, not great strategy. Why? Because he played it safe in the Final 5 by sticking with the Ds, hoping they would take him to final 3. Only after he won HOH did he realize that no alliance matters after the final 5 and that only Jameka would even take him to Final 2. Geez, all of a sudden Zack finds God, urinates on D, and becomes Jameka's best friend. Now, that might have been good strategy a week ago, but it is transparent desperation now, and irrelevant compared to the POV comp and the next HOH.

By the way, for all of you people who felt Amber's religious zealotry was contrived and fake - how do you feel about Zack's? If it looked bad on Amber, it looks worse on Zack.

Anonymous said...

Anon @8:59-- Perhaps you haven't heard all the crap the other HGs were saying about the Donatos. This is most definitely not a one-way street; Dick is just more upfront about it. He has been my favorite from the very beginning, and I hope he wins.

Daniele is whiny, true. I'd have been whiny, too, at her age. But so were some of the others, all of them at times. I think the prize for self-absorption, though, goes to Jessica. I hope Eric doesn't have real feelings for her, because if he does he's in for a rude awakening.

I'm hoping Zach is out in the first part of the HOH comp.

You always have the option of changing the channel. If a tv program upset me this much, I'd simply not watch it.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree with anonymous' comments that ended with "Too bad the money won't make them grow up or become decent human beings." Even though it seems inevitable that these 2 will end up in the final two (which is why Zach is an idiot for not using the veto to save Eric so that Daniele could have gone home then), because of how smug D&D are I would love to see Zach go to the final 2 and even win, this is far from what I wanted earlier in the season.

Anonymous said...

Go home Daniele..........please, please go home. Oh, that's right you don't have one, you used your boyfriend exactly like you use everyone else in your life. If you end up with the money I have a feeling it will neve buy a person such as you any happiness! Much rather see your father do something to stay and you leave. Please!!!!

I don't think Zach is an idiot at all. He is simply severely lacking in social skills which made him an outcast from the beginning. I think he's the type of person that either grows on you after time, or you totally hate and don't bother to give the time of day. Earlier in the season, they would show footage of how he would clear a room (or a teacup) just by waking up to the other hg's gathered together chatting. Dani was one of the hg's who verbalized her dislike for him many times until she and her father were put on the block and then she started being somewhat civil to him TO HIS FACE--then behind his back she continued to tell us what a dipshit she thought he was.

I think the odds are stacked high against Zach and that is why I am pulling for him.

I love how Dani can't wait to read all up on herself and her father on the internet when she gets out. For some unknown reason, she feels she is beloved and that it's her father who is hated. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when she finds out that the majority of people think she's a whining, spoiled, rotten brat. I wish there was a reality tv show covering that meltdown.

To Britt,

Careful analysis of Zack's actions over the last two weeks prove unequivocally that Zack is an idiot.

You may still cheer for him, but he is an idiot. In fact, you may prefer to cheer for him now that he's proven himself to be special.

Joe in NY said...

Orkmommy!!!

I love you, girlfriend, when have I ever suggested disagreeing with me was not allowed!

Anyone can cheer for anyone. I only called you out because I thought you could take the heat, and because you were one of the people giving Zack credit for standing up to Dick.

I just feel that Zack waiting until D/D didn't matter to tell Dick he was an a&& was hardly something that raised my opinion of him. Had he done it the week before when he had POV and could save Eric and backdoor Dani, I could have respected it. Instead, he played it safe by sticking with D/D (in case they won HOH and/or POV) and only turned on them after HE decided that he didn't need them anymore.

By the way, Dani is also an idiot, but everyone knows that so I didn't see the need in spelling it out. It was kind of touching in an Osbornes meet the Brady Bunch kind of way when she was extolling how wonderfully her Dad played the game to Zack. But, it seemed kind of dumb to tell Zack he couldn't win when Zack could still have won POV and not used it to save her or her Dad. And, Zack could end up on the jury, so why rattle his cage in the closing week.

joy n said...

Karen, I agree with your statement. They're not the only ones to display smugness at different times in the game, and at this point of the game, they have the right to feel that way.

Anonymous said...

I think we all need to remember to always state that these posts are "IMO". I think we start to get a little heated with each other when people state so vehemently that "Dick is this", "Dani is that" etc, as if they are stating facts. We are, of course, all entitled to our own opinions and this site is a wonderful place to state them.

With that said, my opinion is that unfortunately Zach made his power move one move too late. He should have used that POV to save Eric and gotten rid of Daniele. Yes, he would have had to suffer the wrath of Dick, but he seems to handle him pretty well. Would Eric have teamed up with Dick against Zach, maybe, but I don't think so! He was very pissed about Jessica's ouster. Zach, Eric and Jameka working together could have taken out Dick. Did I want to see either Zach, Eric or Jameka win the game? Not particularly, but it would leave a better taste in my mouth than Dick or Daniele's winning. I hope Zach receives a miracle and makes it to final 2. I think with all the animosity for Dick and Daniele on that jury, Zach could pull off the win (IMO).

Joy n and Karen - While I agree that Dick and Danielle have a right to be pleased with where they are in the game, I think it's the way they go about showing it that's offensive. It's one thing to celebrate your success, it's another to harass and belittle others in the house because of it, to threaten people when you've got the power and to look for ways to abuse and intimidate them and then speak ill of them behind their backs. Isn't that one of the main reasons Maggie (and the rest of the nerd herd) were so hated in their season. That people applaud Dick's abusive behavior speaks volumes about why there is so much abuse and violence in our society. What's really hilarious is that they are not only the worst sore losers (especially Danielle) but the worst winners too. They are never gracious about winning and always bitter about losing. They believe they are loved and Danielle is America's sweetheart - now that's delusional. Congrats to them if they win (they played the best game but mainly because no one else played well at all) but I sure wouldn't want to be them or even know them.

On the coded letter to Dick from Vincent, my understanding (based on live feed recappers and videos) was he and Vincent set up a code that the first letter and last letter of a paragraph would show the initials of who he should not trust.

The paragraph in question began with a J and ended with an E. He couldn't figure out if the J was Jen or Jessica (why not Jameka?) and that the E was Eric.

There was supposed to be another message telling him if he could or could not trust his closest alliance. Given that is Dani - not sure how that panned out.

As Jackie said, he was confused over Vincent saying he's now a 'Suckster' (SurvivorSucks regular). He also thinks there is a message in Vincent saying 'Very Very much' ... think that was an I love you type thing. :-)

I'm not fond of any of the people in this game, but as far as strongest competitor, I give that to Danielle and think she should win. I do agree that she is whiney and petulant and in many ways a spoiled brat. She's 21 and still a child and stuck on some childish habits. Let's hope seeing herself will get her to make a major effort to break those.

BTW, I loved the FF show last Thursday. For once the TV version of BB didn't drag and put me to sleep.

Dick and Daniele are the most popular HGs in almost every online poll. They have very few fans here, but this isn't the case with all BB8 watchers.

I seriously doubt that Dick's behavior on the show is at all indicative what he's like outside the House. No one could be that confrontational without running into serious trouble somewhere along the line. This is a TV SHOW, and it's one where confrontations are encouraged. I like Dick, although his behavior appalls even me sometimes. But I'd never for a minute think that this is the real Dick!

There might be those among us who think it would be fun to watch happy, laughing houseguests play cheery games of beer pong all day and night. Were I one of those people, I'd not be watching BB.

meb,

Sorry, it's a function of my education: you get enough degrees, you learn to talk with authority, even though you know that you don't have any. That's why Dani always sounds so confused, she dropped out of college. :) [Well, that's at least part of the reason, IMHO.]

I still think that if you break down the tone of my posts rather than the specifics, they are no different than anybody else's. I do tend to go on and on with (supposedly) supporting examples. But I don't see how that is much different than someone saying "Dick is Evil" "Dani is a whining spoiled brat" "Amber is a meth head" or "Zack is an idiot"

I could take it personally when anyone says anything negative about one of the HGs, but I don't. Why is the fact that I throw out examples to try and prove my point make me any more stubbornly opinionated than someone who just offers an opinion with no support.

Just because I try to prove my point, doesn't mean I don't value your opinion. It just means I don't agree with it and respect you enough to try and convince you of my opinion (and let you try to convince me). If I didn't respect your opinion or you, I would just let your opinion stand and not waste my breath.

It's kind of like religious people who talk about their religion. Some people find them annoying. Some people feel that they should not try and impose their beliefs on others. I think that they MUST try and convince you that your religion is false!

Why? (you might ask)

Because if I think I know the way to heaven and I keep that to myself, it just means I don't care enough about you to bring you along.

I just want to bring you all along.... :)

Oh Joe, Say it Ain't So...you missed that Zach's lying low and not attacking Dick earlier was his game plan. Subtle, so not surprised it was missed. His mistake was going on the attack to soon, and on that we agree.

The pysch of the game always flows over to the fans, myself included. I think we all gradually pick out who we want to support and then come to their defense, even when we don't know the facts or the people. We turn a blind eye to what 'our guy' does and only critque the other players. Sort of like we are seeing happen in the house now with all of them. And how can we know facts or the people...those hgs are part fiction and part reality. And we on the board are a mix of that, too.

As to the coded letter, it was Dick who said it and it wasn't the Suckster comment. If I get time later today, I'll do a search and see if I can direct you to it. It might not be true...maybe Dick wanted it to be true and was making an innocent letter into a coded one. Again, I have a difficult time seperately fact from fiction in the game.

It is fun to get stirred up, though. Do you think getting the blood pumping as we analyze the play will substitute for aerobic exercise?

All of you have made the boring bearable, thanks for that.

Heck, I don't even remember most of the players I used to argue about.

Here's the question of the day... Why do we get so involved in this game that we start to fight amongst ourselves?

Sandiekay... Actually, Dani's boyfriend was living off her as he had no employment and was on the verge of moving in with family as she went into the BB house. She has been supporting him for awhile now.

I don't think the Donatos sucked up to Zack when they needed him. I think Zack & the Donatos were thrown together when the rest of the house grouped together and wanted all 3 of them gone. It was an alliance of circumstance for each and probably not their first choice of who they would want to be with. Also, Zack wasn't as loyal to their alliance as he pretends to be. He told D&D earlier on that he was playing both sides (D&D vs. Nerd herd) and that is exactly what he did...

Sky... I totally agree!

Orkmommy, I can't really answer your question and I'm not saying the following is you, but in my case, I have "lost it" a couple of times over someone's statements on this blog. There are times when it seems a few are deliberately trying to "bait" commenters. I'm trying very hard to not let "those" statements get to me anymore. (I am not talking about Joe.)

I think Sue was right on in her last post, too. Maybe it's just human nature. We're "involved" to a certain point with the HGs on an almost daily basis, And it's sort of like having a friend who we know is not perfect, and "WE" know it, but we go crazy when someone else bad-mouths them because they see only the negatives while we know they have good points, too. Am I making any sense?

wow,I have been reading posts and find myself in the minority.
I like D and D. They played the game, not like boogie who had Will do it all. Not like maggie who let everyone else get her there. They played, wheeled and dealed and in the case of danielle whined, and in the case of dick verbally attacked, But THEY PLAYED
I do not like zach, never did. He was carried thru for weeks because they had bigger fish to fry. D and D turned on E/J just before E/J would have turned on them so it was a good strategic move like it or not. Eric blew that when he focused on getting rid of amber. He got her put on the block he did not have to convince others to vote her out. they could have done what jessica wished and get out zach. zachs big move would have been the POV when eric was still there, he could have gotten Danielle up and out but did not.
I for one hope a Donato does take it all for a game well played.
Like survivor when rob lost to amber people just do not like being outwitted, out played and lied to which is a given in this game. go on amazing race then if you cant deal with deception etc.
Go D/D!

IMHO of course

I think CBS should nix the idea of putting pairs into the house.

Last season, Boogie had Will, this season it's the Dysfunctional Donatos. It doesn't seem fair to me for pairs to go in, they have an unfair advantage right off the bat. After all, this isn't the Amazing Race, thats SUPPOSED to be pairs! ;-)

GO ZACK! Ive always been an Underdog fan!

orkmommy,
You made some wonderful points. Now, here comes my psychology degree - I think we get so involved with these people because in some way they represent us or who we wish we could be, or someone we know or have issues with. For example someone may dislike Dick because they were or have known someone who was abused that way. People who "appreciate" (for lack of a better word) his style of play either might behave that way or wish they could. Dani is the "pretty girl" and for whatever reason we like pretty people more and forgive their flaws. To acknowledge that our support or condemnation of them is wrong would be to admit that we have flaws in our thinking and for most people that is very hard to do. Let's face it we don't really know these people but we get caught up defending them or criticizing them. What have we got at stake? Not the money obviously, but our own sense of values or some need to defend or validate our own past experiences. but that's just my opinion!

Joe in NY ~ you are too funny. I am sitting at my little desk and LOL reading all the posts here. Everyone is hysterical today! I love reading everyone's comments and want to add one.

Have we ever really liked the person who won at the time of their winning? I mean, the only one who could possibly have come close to that would have been Lisa Donohue for me. And probably the only reason I liked her was because she was originally from Rochester, NY! (where I live)

They all become dirty rotten scoundrels in the end? I hated them all this year, CBS did a horrible job of picking people this year!

Chris said "He was carried thru for weeks because they had bigger fish to fry."

How is that any different than anyone else who wasn't looked at as a threat because there was a bigger fish to fry? Zach stayed as far under the radar so that he could further himself in the game. I appreciate that Dick put himself out there and was still able to stay in the game, but I can't fault another player for staying out of the limelight.

Zach definitely went about the end of the game the wrong way, but i dont care, it only helped D&D! I've loved them since the beginning, and am stoked that one of them is going to walk away with the $$. IMHO, they completely deserve it. I can't help but wonder though how badly Danielle's game play would have suffered if Nick had stayed in the game.

Orkmommy: To give my opinion on the question about why we stick up for strangers in the house:
I am afraid to look at that too closely. Because I think I might find that some thing in one I defend might remind me of myself. (Yikes!!! )But, I do feel that even if it isn't myself I am seeing, it might be my child, or a friend I knew. In some manner I am personalizing them. And, as I said before, they aren't even the people I am making them into to..so how warped is that??!! : )

Joe in NY: Your humor is still coming through on your new style, but I see more of Rosie O'Donnel in the brevity (with caps in the right places, though and not haiku) than you. I grew up in a family who lifted arguing to an art form. We congratulated ourselves on making a point and then promptly changed sides. It was entertainment. So, I miss your longer, more detailed posts.

About Zach: I wrote earlier in the game that Zach reminded me of people I know. I transferred the feeling I have for them on to him. I am not saying he deserved that protection I felt for him or that he even was anything like the people I knew. That is the root cause for my paying extra close attention to his play and assigning him more playing power than he was using. It was my wishful (wistful?) thinking. I do know the moment I knew he was smart and funny and that the hgs were missing it. It was the group hug that he joined without being asked. That was one of the funniest things I had seen in the house. And yes, I know, no one gets it but me. But, I am laughing again just thinking of it.

Here's my two cents.....I really don't dislike any of the remaining houseguests...I would prefer to see Zack win...but I enjoy Dick..I think he's funny...sometimes rude...but funny...I'm not crazy about Danielle...but this is a game...and I'm not sure we are seeing the real anyone in this game....it's got to be harder than it appears...the Donatos have an unfair advantage of having a blood relative in the house that is the ultimate alliance...and I know there have been other sibling couplings on the show...but there is a parental difference ....ie many a parent will sacrife themselves for a child to win.

Do I think Zack has chance...sure a small one it is two to one odds...I think he played a good game...he made mistakes though....and I think he's not afraid of ED so whether he "stands up" to him or not..he's not intimidated by him. Heck I think they all played a good game as they are all still there and in the end of this game thats what matters.

This has had to be one of the worst casts CBS has placed in the house. Don't hate the player hate the game. D&D and Eric were the only people in the house to play the game, the rest were space eaters. I agree that it is somewhat a disadvantage having the pairs, but all the HG's had the opportunity to deal with that. Everyone one of theses studnets of the game" were blinded by some of the most inane bs. D&D kept the eye on the prize. Dick's bully approach is offensive and may play against him in the end, but Zach had three opportunities to play the game and failed to do so. IMHO he is a idiot. He has one more chance to pull it off, but are we so sure he will win against either of the Donatos?

Anonymous said...

It seems to me that being in the house as a pair is a disadvantage because everyone knows that it is an advantage. Did you hear Danielle tell everyone how tough it was being in the house with her father?

The HG's could'a shoulda eliminated them early on. My mistake, they tried, but could not because they won comps and POV's when they had too.

Bottom line Zach has as good a chance to win as D&D, but money would be on the one's that have done it all along. Go Dick....

Even if Zach doesn't win, I'm looking forward to watching Daniele have to spend 5 days in the house ALONE with her dad. I think she'll have a mental breakdown before it's all over.

I guess I don't really care who wins the last HOH at this point. There could be some interesting fireworks either way...

If Zack is eliminated in the second round, what's to stop the Donotos from calling the game. In other words, Dad or daughter says at the beginning of the round, I give, you win. It would throw CBS into the same mess they had with the volcano. Why bother fighing for 500000 if you are guaranteed 50000 anyway and are related to the eventual winner. Dad will give the money to daughter ( I have five kids, I know about these things) Now whether daughter will give the money to Dad is another question. she may just give him the finger and go on her way.

I'm still rooting for Z. He's the underdog and I always root for the underdog. I like for people to overcome odds and win even though no one thinks they will. It is in my nature because I like to do it to. How's that for psych 101?

Anyway, he couldn't make any power moves any earlier in the game. He had to fly under the radar. No one in there would even talk to him for weeks and weeks. It's hard to form an alliance or a friendship when no one will talk to you. Any move he would have made would have gotten him evicted immediately. They wanted to ignore them so he let them and he's still there because of it. That's pretty good for an idiot.

As for nominating the MeMeMe twins, he did it because he could do something finally and he wanted to upset them. He was kicking them when they were down. The only problem was he didn't kick them hard enough. He learned that from Dick but unlike Dick he's not as big of a Dick. Sort of like Dick-lite or Fat free Dick.
He also nominated them to get jury votes.

What does it matter that he nominated them anyway. All that matters is that he's going to be in F3 which means he gets to play in the Final HOH. The only way he's going to be in the F2 is to win that HOH. Neither Dick or Dani would take him over each other.
He knows how they act toward people to their faces and then how they act when their backs are turned. It's only logical to assume that they did him the same way...i.e. that they were nice to his face and them mean to him behind his back.
Sorry I would love to stay and argue all afternoon but I have to errands to run.

Bye all, have fun duking it out.

I'm doing my daily reading, and am seeing the hatred for the D's get deeper and deeper.

So my question to all of those who are sick of this show, will never watch show again if one of the D's win blah blah blah-- why are you still reading blogs, posting to other commenters, reading what is going on in the house? Why do you still care if you are so done?

It's a game. It's for entertainment.

It is NOT a game of fairness or niceness. It never was. This game is about winning competitions and manipulating people. Daniele and Dick played the game.

I really don't want to see Daniele win this last HoH. I would like to see her Dad duke it out for the final one, and see her ask him to give it to her. I want to see what they have to say to the jury. I would like to hope he doesn't.

Anonymous said...

Zach winning HOH would be the only even midly interesting conclusion. He'd want to take Dick to the finals (I think) and Dick would want him to take Danielle and would be mad crazy to get him to do it. Danielle would switch between super whiney brat and Zachs pretend bff. I'd love to see her put on the charm and have Zach blow her off and take Dick to the finals. That might actually be fun to watch. Alas it's highly unlikely Zach will pull it off - he's made too many stupid mistakes I can't believe he won't screw up again. A girl can hope though can't she?

At this point, I think for Dani's sake that it doesn't matter if it's a choice between her and her dad to the final two, if it's her dad. I am sure that he's already promised her half the money anyhow.

Now, I'm sure she's probably made the same promise, but I would be real surprised if she keeps it. Will probably have some sudden issue come up where she has to keep all the money for herself, or she instigates a fight again, etc.-

I think Zach could pull it off, it all depends on what the competitions are. I wonder why he didn't win anything early on - maybe strategy. I would not like to see pairs next year, but what i would like to see is more diversity. More minorities and HG's over 40, is there a quota?

Dknync - The last few seasons where they had a 3 part final HOH the comps were endurance, something physical, & question/answer. I think Zach could do well in an endurance if he applied himself. On the physical, it really depends...they had a comp once that involved ropes, untying them and crawling through things. Daniele would rock at that because of her size. The question/answer is really up in the air...they all seem to be pretty equal there.

Plaidchick, I so agree with you. Some people seem to feel that the Donatos are a combination of Osama Bin Laden and Kim Jong Il--or worse.

I don't like Zach, and I don't want him to win. But I'm not going to impugn his character; I don't know the guy. I may not like what I see of him on TV, but I'm sure in the outside world he's a perfectly nice person. This is a game show. I expect him to do whatever he can to win; for most of the game, though, he doesn't seem to have done very much at all.

I'm getting really tired of reading how Daniele would sell her father down the river, keep all the money for herself, etc., etc., ad nauseum. Who of us knows what she would do? She's a very young girl in a very tough situation. The money thing is for them to work out, should one of them win. I don't care a fig what happens to that money.

I do like Dani. But I'm so hoping that her dad wins!

Joe in NY said...

Y'know, I've been thinking during my sojourn in Zack's cave. I think the best illustration of the difference between Zack and D/D as strategists lies in a simple comparison:

When Jess was against Jam, and Jess was going home, Dick told Jam she was going home. At the last minute, Dick went up to Jam and told her that he and Dani would save her if she promised them the POV in the next round. She agreed. This was planned by Dick all week and amounted to SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. This completed the Big Move of the Ds - betraying E/J to shift numbers in their favor from an alliance of 4 to an alliance of 3 with Zack.

The same night, Zack wins the POV and has the opportunity to backdoor Dani. This was the Big Move for Zack. He knows the Ds would take each other to Final 2. Jess is gone, so Eric, Jam are wide open. D/D alliance gives Zack best odds to get to final 3, but Eric, Jam, Zack alliance gives Zack best odds to get to Final 2. It was also the last time it could be done since alliances are all but irrelevant in the Final 4 - it's all comps. Zack sat on the Veto. This was NOTHING FOR SOMETHING.

Personally, I'd rather have Zack for a housemate. But if I'm playing BB, I'd rather have Dick for a partner.

QueenGoddessDiva said...

With all due respect, WTF happened today?!? Please, can't we all just get along! I love all of you guys...Anyway, wouldn't it be great if they reviewed Jameka's Green Balls, and decided to give her another chance because the blue ball did go in on it's own? Twisted-eh! OOH, I'd love a do-over!

Anonymous said...

Again with the no use veto on Eric. Zach didn't have time to form an alliance with Eric. This all took place in the span of what an hour. He might have backdoored Dani if he had had a chance to confer with Jameka and Eric. He didn't. He did the best he could with the info he had. He chose the Devil he knew, Dick, over the Devil he didn't, Eric. At least, he already had an "alliance" with Dick and Daniele. If he had used it on Eric who's to say that Eric wouldn't have teamed up with Dick to get both him and Jam out. Eric is a smart player and god knows, he would much rather be sitting in the F2 with Dick rather than Jam or Zack.

Kay

By the way does anyone know why you must get your tires rotated? Don't they get enough rotation going down the road?

Anonymous said...

zack didn't make a move on his own until he put d & d up instead of jam. a little too late. up to then he just did what others told him or begged people to not put him up and he would do anything they wanted. I remember him telling jess to tell him how she wants him to vote and he will do what ever she wants. what a wimp. at least d& d played up front the whole game.
Having said that, zack could still get lucky and win hoh and be one of the final 2. If it was me on the jury I would still vote for one of the Ds rather then zack just cuz they played better, not becuz I think they were nice people during the game, which they obviously were not.

May not have worked, but we'll never know. But you can't give Zack credit for moves he didn't make, and everyone's trying to give him credit for the non-move that he did make. Nominating D/D was irrelevant.

Thank God you're back Joe. I thought you sounded like an indian from a very bad western. There's a lot to be said for your eloquent verbosity and your wonderful sense of humor. Please don't go back to that dark place.

Plaidchick: Very well put, but it will probably just go over their heads.

My point Joe is would you have trusted Eric under any circumstances. Jam maybe but not Eric. (Oh wait, not even Jam because she went for the first couple of weeks without speaking to Z at all and labeled him a racist) Also, you're forgetting how Eric treated Z over the past week and all the snide little comments he's made to Z over the season. I'm guessing he like everyone else in that house realized that there was something off about Eric but couldn't quite figure out what. I think Z felt more comfortable in that position, the D + D + Z alliance with the HOH comp coming up. What would have happened if he had backdoored Dani and Eric had won HOH. Guess who would have been on the block. Dick and Z. If Jam had won: Dick and Z. Dick couldn't win this one but what about the final HOH. Who would have taken Z to final 2. Answer nobody but Z himself.

He was in a rock and a hard place and had no where to go. He did the best he could. You would have to if you had been in that place with that amount of time to think if over. Maybe he was surprised he actually won the veto. I don't know what I would have done either. I might have panicked.

He's made his move now. And I still believe that putting Dick and Dani on the block this week was pure game play in order to throw off their concentration.

Kay,

Could be (putting D/D on block to distract them), but even that is a page out of Dick's play book.

Don't get me wrong, next to Jameka, I think Zack is the most likeable of all the houseguests. I find him very funny, in that dry sort of way. I just don't think he was much of a BB strategist - not at all. And I think all 3 of them (D/D and Z) are very poor winners. As soon as the top 3 was determined, they all just congratulated themselves and dissed the others.

Personally, I don't much care one way or the other, I just hate the double standard. D/D are selfish and classless and poor winners, yet Zack is some kind of hero.

Just praying for some balance and fairness.

Y'know how it goes in here (and in real life), it isn't enough to cheer for someone, you need to make that someone perfect. I guess it's just like being in love and unable or unwilling to see the flaws.

Dick - pretty loyal, good strategist, very insecure, foul mouth, rage issues, loves his daughter

Dani - damaged child wanting to be loved but only on her own terms, incapable of sharing even credit, loves her Dad but not ready to move past the disappointment of her child, total warrior, not yet woman

Zack - bright guy, good heart, awful strategist, sociall awkward, drily funny, loyal to his friends, as dishonest as Dick or Danielle but unwilling to be compared to them

Like the rest of us, imperfect, lovable yet unlovable.

Rage, cry, cheer. Love them when they fail, hate them when they win. Just see them for all that they are, not just what your heart wants them to be.

to joe in new york,
i agree zach was a follower for a while and certainly was not thinking ahead. had he bacdoored danielle he would have gotten out a good competitor and frquent winner thus"leveling the playing field" as he said last night.
the devil he knew, dick, versus eric so what, he could beat eric in comps so it was well worth that risk and he did not take it.
the other pairs in the house got targeted early, carolJ/joe/dustin. the house could have gotten rid of either one early and failed.
initially it was not to their advantage but as time went on it was. no different then eric and jessica as time went on.
i want someone who played hard to win, like them or not.
i just think d and d played better than zach and would like to see one of them win it all
i think dick would let danielle go to the final 2 over himself.
he has sacrificed himself before so..
as far as the psychology of this and why we like certain people, I just think dick is a nice guy underneath it all. and danielle, she just played hard so..
they dont remind me of anyone I know or anyone i want to be.
I am also rooting for a danielle nick romance in the end,lol

WOW...It's no wonder why my sleep was disturbed today. Reading this blog with my evening coffee, I almost spilt it. I could tell right away Orkmommy was having a terrible day, where was the sweet funny girl we all know and love. Then horrors! Joe in NY goes robotic?? No more waxing poetic?? Thank goodness by the time I got to the end both of you were back to your old selves.
Joe, look how popular you are among the ladies. Looks like you will have an amazing fall season. Hope you stick with all your adoring fans through Survivor too.
XOXOXO

Steff, my dearest, how is the wrist? Are you typing with one hand?

Actually, I'm much more of a Survivor fanatic than BB. The problem with Survivor is that there isn't all the leaking info streaming in all week long to keep me occupied. Well, that and all the other shows that are back on.

This is just like real life - always popular with the ladies in my imaginary life!

Hey, we've all gone over to the next thingy. Come on. You might like my Survivor/BB/Twilight Zone rant. I gotta go the Closer season finale's on but will check in later.

Joe in NY,

Thank you darlin', yes, I am typing one handed, well in truth, two fingered, thumb & middle...lol

So glad you will be with us for Survivor, and I agree with missing the 24/7 info leaking.

Me thinks you are just as charming in real life as you are here(your imaginary life?). I can't imagine you having dating problems, unless you are shamefully shy in real life, whereas here you can be bold. I better comment on BB8 before someone angrily reminds me why we are here. Giggles.
Gooooooooo Dick.

oops, I meant painfully shy...the shame is on me!
