Daniele and Evel Dick play cards as Zach gets his sleep. Not much has been going on since I last reported. Daniele and Dick studied throughout most of the evening preparing Dick for the final HOH comp part against Zach tonight. Zach had to quiz himself.Tonight's speech by the President is scheduled to start after the show ends here on the East Coast, so it looks like the show is a go on time this evening!

I'm also glad to hear that Dani wasn't such a monster to her dad after all. As bratty as she has been at times, I wondered why she would turn on him like that at that time. It didn't make sense. He won part 2 and she had to know that if she helped him (the quizzing) then he would have a good shot at the final comp and he would take her with him. She'd at least have a shot at the 50 thou, and probably more from Daddy. Plus lately, they seemed to have a closer connection.
I'm really happy to know that info was fake. I don't get though, was there ever really a car?

I think you have the best "family" here than at any other blog site - i've visited some (as i'm sure you have) and some of the language, and nasty evil comments are so uncalled for - even tho we get a little carried away, you always manage to reign us in gently & with much tact - we argue, we comment back & forth to each other, but i think for the most part, respectfully - in my humble opinion, you are by far one of the best blog administrators out there !! congratulations to you !!
I would like to see Zack win part 3, only to see the smug look wiped away from D/D's faces - they thought when it was 4 left that they had the money (position 1 &2) in the bag !!

Frankly - conspiracy enthusiasts get ready! - I think BB would try to skew the final comp to favor Zack. (Not that they would ever do that!!! :) Why do I say that? Because a D/D Final 2 would have a lot of people saying "ho-hum they both won", whereas you can sense the conflict between Zack supporters and D/D supporters on this board, which would make a more dramatic final 2.
I would also say that, despite suggestions of other motivations in Part 2 of the comp, I think it just shows the same pragmatic forward thinking that the Donatos employed all season: Dick gives them a better chance to win a memory comp about the other HGs. I think they both know that Zack would take Dick to Final 2 anyway and a D would definitely take a D, so it doesn't really matter which of them plays.
I would also point out that this is a very pragmatic change from Dani's original request of her father that he throw Part 2 to her so she could win HOH in Part 3. Carefuly analysis and discussion led them to the most pragmatic solution, assuming they are right about the nature of the final comp, that Dick knew more about all of the HGs than Dani who spent a lot of time holed up with Nick, with her Dad, or by herself.
I'd also say that, if they are right, Zack being a loner may work against him. Which is why I think the Ds will end up not being right - CBS wants a Zack/D finale.

I am kind of disapointed the Dick wouldnt throw the competition to Daniele so she could do the questions is the final part. Doesnt she know a lot more than him, hence the 5 POV's and the 2 HOH's? Isnt this something that Zach must be loving, knowing that someone who has dominated this game competetion was is sitting on the chair and having nothing to do with this competetion. I am so disapointed that its not going to be D and D in the end, I wanted that from Day 1 and wanted either of them to win, and now Zach pretty much has a cake walk to the finals over Dick, has America's Players vote in my opinion, and some others, I just hope the Jury realizes who played a better game even if it was through yelling, hey we havent seen something like this since Dr. Will, everything out in the open, sytle, and I hope to god this other way work for Dick as well.

i just read on joker's a conversation between D & D - the second comp had something to do with being under water, & Danielle said she can't hold her breath under water very well - have to get thru today's work day before we can see tonight's show, at least work gives me something to do until then :)
Joe, I hate to say this, but I hope you're wrong this time. I think it would be TOO obvious if they tailored a trivia comp for Zach. He's just not that good at it and it would
"show". That would have a lot of fans up in arms this close to the finale. I'm hoping the Donatos do get all the money, but Dick, in particular, has earned the win in my book.

It wasn't Dick vs Zach, it was Dani vs Dick in the 2nd comp. The winner of first comp moves straight on to round 3. The winner of round 1 determined the participants for round 2, 2 people had to be eliminated from round 1. Does that help?
Yes! I'm glad Dick won part 2. I think Zach has a much better chance against Dick than Dani. Even if the comp is about past HGs, I think Zach can hold his own. He may not have been a part of any of the groups, but he was always lurking nearby and I'm sure none of the questions are going to be too deep. I really want to see Dani walk out that door with third place and leave Zach and Dick to battle it out with the jury.
If they show the 3 HOH comps tonight will they skip Sunday's show and have the finale on Tuesday? I have read that the finale will be Sept. 18, is that true?

i believe that dick had the best game and for that he would deserve the win. danielle had less game than the patriots and used her dad only when she needed him. i feel bad for dick bc i think he truly loves her and she has made it quite clear she doesnt care for him.
with that being said, i think zach should win due to sportsmanship. the smugness of dick and danielle is hard to watch. they are soooo mean to zach for really no reason. maybe he doesnt deserve to be there, but he is!
its a tough one to pick. i know there are lots of dick and danielle fans out there, maybe they all support poor sportsmanship, i dont. i really dont want any of them to get the money. danielle would take the money and run, i doubt she'd share with "her daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad" ....dick would share with her, and thats his flaw, his love for his daughter. who knows what zach would do.

I think Zack proved he has a good memory....he kicked but in the HOH contest that had them remembering things about the pictures they had seen. Although he wasn't as "close" to the other house guests as maybe Dick was....ahem...I think it is a mistake on the D's part to assume he didn't pay attention during his lurking around.....Now I have to say I'd truly like to see Zack take this thing.....I'd be okay if Dick won...but I hope Daniele goes home now.....I don't want any chance of her winning...IMHO

I am happy with the outcome of the first two comps. I think Dick and Zack will bust their butts to win HOH.
Joe I agree that Zack would be more likely to take Dick to the final 2 but I remember that Zack promised Nick to "protect" Daniele. Plus Nick wrote Dani to trust Zack. That does put s sliver of nagging doubt in my mind.
In the event Zack wins HOH I hope that Zack remembers it isn't personal just strategy when he picks between Dick and Daniele.
I have gotten emotionally caught up in this silly game. I don't like the persona Daniele has presented and do not want her to win.
I realize that for me it is personal and not strategic or based on game play and performance.

It is irrelevant on the Ds part whether they assume anything about Zack. They can't keep him (short of killing him) from playing in Part 3 of the comp. The fact that they assume he'll have trouble with questions about HGs doesn't matter at all.
Every football team, every week, assumes they can win the game. That's why they play them on the field!

Frankly, if Zack wins HOH I would expect Dick to unleash some curse words and threaten some more hoping to make Zack take Dani to final 2. BUT, I'm sure it'll all end when Dani walks out the door. At that point, there is nothing left to fight for, it is in the hands of the jury.
I am looking forward to watching the show tonight to see Dick and Zack battle for the final. I am not a fan of Daniele's and never have been. I liked Dick in the beginning, but it waned for me. Never been a particular fan of Zack's. However, I am hoping if Zack wins, he brings Dick to the final two. He doesn't think the jury would vote for Dick, but I think they will. Daniele will benefit either way - if Daddy is 1st or 2nd. Zack said he would be happy with second place. If Dick wins Daniele is guaranteed to make the final two. She should be sitting pretty...not saying this sucks (everyotherminute). Can't wait for tonight, to log on with the rest of you and follow along...

Could it at all be possible that something other than house guest questions could be the third part of the comp tonight? Seems a tad unfair that Dani gets to coach Dick (and fill him in on answers) day and night, while Zach has no one. Two against one just doesn't bode well for me at this stage of the game. How have these producers figured all of this out as being equitable? GO ZACH!!!!
Oh, and Sooooooo glad Bush will be AFTER BB....LOL. I hate when the prez. interrupts my shows. :)

For almost everyone, it is personal on some level - it's just nice when people (you!) admit it.
Even the "Dick deserves to win because he played the game better" is personal: what is good game play? Is game play the important criteria? Is strategy (manipulation) more or less important than success in comps? How do you factor in alliances?
I thought Richard deserved to win the first survivor but wanted Rob to lose (even though I thought he ran the show) because I couldn't stand him.

Nana, my 6 month is teething too! I give him a 'the first years' baby sippy cup with a tiny bit of water in it....the tip is kinda chewy, he chews and learns to hold a cup.

It would be such a great moment in this season to see Dani walk out the door. She's been a great competitor and I give her kudos for that. And she doesn't have to be one of the "good people" to win, but I have to say that her character has influenced my ability to root for her. Perhaps a bit of humility would help build her character. As I wrote that I just got a reality check: Right now, I'm afraid it would instead only serve to fuel her mantra: This succcccccks.
Zach might not have been Mr. Personality but that doesn't mean he hasn't been watching, listening, and observing for the past three months.
Suggesting that BB will make the final HOH to favor Zach is sour grapes although I admit having the double D's in the final would be a real bore. The Donato's were already parking their new car in their garage but then they didn't win one for some reason. They've also been counting the money in their bank already which is never a good thing.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see when part three of the HOH takes place.
"Good game play" is a subjective term. It can mean many different things to many different people. No one here is an authority on what good game play means, we're all just giving our opinions.

Speculating on CBS's desire to have only one D in the final 2 is just an observation. Suggesting the final comp could be designed to favor the result CBS wants is just a prognostication.
For people who don't think Zack "deserves to win", the final HOH is irrelevant - it won't change their minds.

I personally want Zach to win. A good example of why is when, after 7+ hours of grueling endurance, Zach won, but he didn't rub it in Dick's face AT ALL. If it had been the other way aroundd, we would have heard "take that mf" etc, etc. Zach was a good sport.

I freely admit that I am biased toward a Zach win simply because I can't stand the double D's. At this point I'd be routing for a Jen win if she was there instead of Zach. If I had my choice of a winner, I would want Jameka to win, Why? I liked her the best out of the lot.
I'm with Rbennie. I wanted anyone BUT the D's to win. I've been disappointed all season with all the missed opportunities to get them out.
I hope part 3 really does favor Zach. They didn't do that to keep Eric in though, so I doubt they will now.

I disagree with everyone saying Dani should walk out the door. If Zach wins part three he should take Daniele with him to final two. He has a much better chance of winning against her than Dick. Dick played a good game. No matter what he did to the HGs they will still see that. If Dick is in final two, he wins no question about it. Daniele on the other hand has let him run her HOHs and just because she won POVs doesn't make her that great a player, she has now tied Janele, Janele won nothing in the end but fame.
I liked Dick in the beginning because he's a rock n roller but the smugness just got to me and I want him gone now. Being third would be the biggest blow to his ego ever.
I also think they may change part 3 from trivia this year. We love Jackie and other bloggers but they give too much away. The reason for the live votes this year is so they wouldn't be known in the blogs before hand. There may be a longer contest for part 3 that won't be known til Sunday or even next Tue.. If they want everyone to tune into the show that is what I would do.

Agree with Susan in MA. Zach congratulated Dick on his endurance when he won. Dick would have gone off on another rant with his dumb daughter. Dick and Danielle are poor losers but they ae poor winners as well. There won't be much joy in Mudville if one of the Donatos takes home the half mil. They have their supporters, but most people I speak with disliked this season because of their particularly nasty gamesmanship. Yes, it's just a game. But you can't call on that kind of behavior if it isn't in you...and the Donatoes don't come across as very evolved people. Danielle is still young, but the path she is on is not a good one. Dick has been trying for four years to get on BB. Some goal for a man his age.

Dick is not wrong about Zach knowing less about the houseguests since he was pretty much ostracized from day one. I think the combo of Dick and Dani's recall will trump Zach's ability to know "house" trivia. I would say advantage: Donatos.
I'm hoping the final challenge will be a real mental challenge and not some hokey...who owned a woobie...or whose pet was named Doo Doo or whatever. Those kinds of contest are so boring to watch. Survivor does a much better job of making the trivia contests interesting...
I wonder how D&D will feel to see that so many fans didn't like Dani because of the way she treated her father - bet that will be a shock to both.

I don't think wanting Zack to win because you like him is a bad reason. You don't need a reason or a rationale, there's actually no official guideline for declaring a winner.
As to the anon who suggested Zack is better off against Dani, that depends on whether the jury ends up going strategic or personal. We played this game a bit yesterday and (IMHO) Dani wins hands down over Zack if it is personal (no one liked Zack at all), which it could be. Against Dick, Zack has a fighting chance either strategically or personally since neither were liked by the jury and Zack can claim to have had a lay low sprint at the end strategy that worked (whether it really was his strategy or not).
By the way, I don't buy Zack's current claim that it was always his plan to lay low and then come on at the end. My only reason for saying that is that he joined the Mrs. Robinson alliance on like Day 2. If you really plan on laying low, you don't jump into an immediate alliance with strangers.
Anon 12:20 - They didn't change the to the live votes because people were publishing the information. They did pre-taped voting at the beginning of the season and the HG's weren't allowed to discuss it so the result wasn't known on the live feeds. They do the live votes because it makes better TV.
Dick would probably love to take 3rd place because that would mean Dani would in the final 2. They're both convinced that Dani could beat Zach with the jury.
On a side note, I love when everyone calls them the "Double D's". It sounds like they're a coupla boobs! :-)

Ok, I never have posted, just have enjoyed the website and lurked the last couple of years. But, when I look at CBS.com it shows a live eviction for tonight, so I see that as we will be to the final 2 with Sunday being a recap show of the season.

That is the schedule Julie announced at the last show - and yet another reason I think CBS is praying (or tinkering with tonight's questions) for Zack to win.
If it is just D/D in the house for the next 5 days until the eviction - there is nothing going on. The show is over, we just haven't been told the winner - and few people will care since it is a Donato family sweep.
At least if Zack is still around, the winner is unknown and there is the chance that there will be something going on in the house.
Although this is a problem every year - why not do the eviction on Sunday to minimize the empty time till the finale?
I have to say...after watching daily Showtoo shows, I do feel a bit sad for Dick. I am not saying I excuse his behavior but Dani is SO cold to him almost always (except the times she needs him for something). I feel some of his rants have gone too far over the line but he is so starving for love from her and she just tears him apart and uses him. (As I suspect she does everyone in her life) Granted I do not know what happened between them in past years, but it is really sad to watch.

This is just a game and it takes a combination of skill, strategy and some LUCK to win! It's a game and just like life it's not fair. Good things happen to bad people and sometimes bad people get rewarded. In our society we pay pretty people who can sing or act, or who can play a sport millions of dollars for a few weeks of work, but people working on a cure for cancer and the people teaching our children get paid next to nothing. How warped is that? This game is a social experiment - to see how people behave in the environment they created. How people behave on this board is almost as interesting. The HG are not 'average' people. If they were, they wouldn't be willing and able to spend 3 months locked up away from family and friends being watched 24/7. How many of you could or would do that?
I'd really like it if the final comp is some kind of combination of challenges, one where they have to do more than one kind of thing (not just trivia) so it doesn't favor anyones strengths and they both have to really fight to win.

The way I see it is if Zach makes it to F2, his chance of winning all depends on whether the jury looks at things personally or takes emotion out of the mix and votes strictly according to "game play".
Now let's look at our jury:
Amber - I don't think she's capable of taking emotion out of her vote. She would vote for Zach because he's never done anything to her personally, and I think she really hates Dick and Daniele.
Dustin, the drama king, votes for Zach. When they showed the sequester house he was routing for Zach to team up with Jameka and get rid of the Donatos.
Jen - definitely capable of showing no emotion, but I just think it was all bottled up and that's why she exploded all over Dick towards the end of her stay, and she hated Dani practically from day 1 - she'll vote for Zach.
Jessica - tough call, she was evicted on Zach's HOH, but the eviction was caused by the Double D's betrayal of their alliance, so she could go either way.
Jameka - another tough call - she disliked Zach in the beginning, but seemed to really appreciate what he tried to do for her at the end. She seemed to shrug off Dick's tirades against her and was still civil to him and Dani up to the end. My gut feeling says she'd vote for Zach.
Eric's thought process doesn't matter since he has to cast America's vote.
Of course whether it's Dick or Dani on the jury, they would vote for each other.
Okay, go ahead, rip me to shreds. I can take it. LOL

I think the first comp was set up to favor Zack. He is much bigger than D & D. He was stronger and had more fat on him to keep him warmer than the two D's. To me that was a given for Zach.

I don't disagree with most of what you've said.
Dustin made the comment "we always wondered what we'd do if we looked up in the Final 4 and Zack was still there". I think Dustin could go either way. He was the one who received the most personal attacks by Dick during that one rampage to protect Dani, and he (Dustin) is a very arrogant person, so I would expect him to vote personally and against Dick.
Jessica, I agree with you, could go either way.
I also think that Amber could go either way - she definitely didn't like Zack either.
Jameka's vote definitely comes down to personal vs. strategic. She did not receive much from Dick (relatively speaking) and didn't seem to hate him like Jen. She also seemed VERY uncomfortable with Zack right through the end. She seemed very uncomfortable when Julie asked her if she and Zack would talk outside of the game. Remember her answer (and the look on her face), "Well, maybe the occasional email to see how things are going, but not phone calls". I actually think Jameka is most likely a Dick vote - which would be my biggest disagreement with your analysis.

The only thing that worries me is that in the past people have voted for the person with the best game, not the least offensive person. Dick has offended people with his tirades, even if they weren't directed their way. It may just swing too far out of Dick's reach this time. Now if Zach takes Danielle, I think they will vote for her...all those HOH and veto wins seal it.

I just tried to watch ShowTwo that I recorded last night. 37 minutes into it before one word was spoken. I was fast forwarding. D & D then had a brief convo about practicing for the next level of play. Dick says you know these people...Daniele says, No I don't, I hate these people. Not really a jury worthy comment, is it.
I wonder how ShowTwo feels about this season and if they will try again next year?

Every season that I can remember I laugh as the hgs prepare for memory comps. BB is watching and listening and, guess who makes up those questions? Yeah, BB. Not a conspiracy theory and not just for this F3, but every year. Yesterday I was thinking of comps where the outcome can't be planned and it sounds like maybe BB did that last night with D & D. Or maybe, as has been suggested Daniele gave it to her dad. I can't really see either of them giving up the driver's seat intensionally, though. Sue
Sunday's episode is a recap show for one really good reason - well two really. First is NBC's NFL game but the big one is that Sunday is Emmy night and is any network anxious to put new material up against the Emmys even if the show doesn't draw as huge an audience as the Oscars? I won't be watching Big Brother, I'll be liveblogging the Emmys.

Rbennie, that is pretty much the way i see it. I see him winning against either one of the D's. Dustin is still holding a grudge against them and you know Jen would never vote for either one if she had a choice. Mike boogie won last year because there was no real choice, he rode the coattails of Will and Erica rode his coattails. Anybody else would have won against him.

If the D's win the F2 it'll be a boring final week! Yuck! I guess it doesnt matter at this point, they will be forgotton by next week, no one will care, and life goes on. Funny that Dani thinks everyone loves her. When the show ends she'll be telling her therapist-this sucks!

Dani is much better liked than people give her credit for. She and Zack are equally rated on the CBS poll with only Dick way out in front.
I agree that Dani would be disappointed that she isn't universally liked, but she'll probably never find out. She'll go do a few mall openings, maybe get a modeling gig, and she'll only be exposed to people who like her.
Joe, i haven't forgotten how much the hated Zach i just look at the fact that ED went so far with his "gameplay" that he made it personal and they would feel like fools voting for someone that treated them the way he did. Also Zach is lesser of two evels....lol

Joe, you said Zack didn't have the strategy to fly under the radar because he initially joined the Mrs. Robinson alliance. I just wanted to say that that alliance happened in the first couple days of being in the house. In order to protect yourself from the dreaded "first evicted" label, he joined up with what seemed like a strong group of guys. He probably didn't have the idea of flying under the radar before going in, but when the houseguests all shunned him, I think he played a smart game of not stirring the pot. It worked anyway LOL!
On that note can anyone give me reasons the houseguests didn't like him? The comments I remember seem really superficial, he's like a robot, an orgre, etc....
So nice guy with little social skills gets targeted for eviction because _______? It never made sense to me when the HGs said they wanted him gone. Can anyone fill in the blank for me?

Since I'm a GO ZACH fan I really couldn't give you an honest answer....but I'm sure there are plenty of D fans out there with answers!!
When I started paying attention to BB, Zach was already being ignored by the house. The episode where BB showed everyone fleeing the tea cup when he approached was the first I remember of it. My opinion is that he is on a completely different wave length than any of them and they don't get him or his humor or his logical way of thinking. On his part I think he was watching them and trying to understand what to say to them...meaning they were just as strange and unknown to him as he was to them. The watching freaked them out. They mostly seemed like high school kids with the nerd who had cooties.
If the hgs comments about him were only of a superficial nature, that might be because that is how many of them view and rate the world. At least as far as I can tell from listening to them talk.

I don't think Zack had any real strategy but to lay low for awhile. As I do recognize it as strategy, I don't admire it. I think Zack was on everyones radar from week 1, but that he lucked out on "bigger targets" presenting themselves and saving him. Then when D&D were ostrasized for going after Eric (a good move on their part), Zack and D&D were forced to work together, but each was also working for themselves. I like to watch these shows and see people dominate challenges(Dani & Janelle)and make bold moves & shake-ups (Dick & Will), but I do understand the lay low philosophy, because it too works... As Howie said last night, BB is about strategy,comps and good luck....
On that note, it was really interesting to hear Kaysars take on Jameka and her religion. He thinks there is a time and a place for religion and that BB is not the place. He said he does not like people who use their religion to gain and try to make others think they are "good people" because of it. He mentioned the whole "Ping-Pong" ball incident and didn't like how Jameka used her religion in the game. He said for him, his religion is right here(touched on his chest)...Howie Likes Dick for the win and Kaysar Liked Daniele for the win. They both didn't appear to really like many of the HG this season. All in all, it was a great interview... Miss those guys!

Snickers... Iam a Dick fan (obviously..lol), but I couldn't say why the HG didn't care for Zack. I think he appears sweet, but does come off a bit socially retarded. I think it is due to the fact that he is a very late blooming hottie. Though, his thoughts on thinking that he carried the Donatos and saved their butts numerous times is a bit off base since the man was a one man show for most of the season.
I like the Donatos, because I love people who are not bound by PC rules and say how they feel. I like people who are real and don't live in a bubble of lies on who they are. I like them for dominating the comps, dominating the HG thoughts and making people who didn't like them vote to keep them in... I don't hate Zack, I just like the Donato game play better.... :)

This season has caused me to wish for something else to watch.
I wish that we could have a CSI-type crew of house guests. Ones that are mature and thoughtful - not necessary in the "kindness" sort of way - no, no - that isn’t what I mean. I certainly appreciate a cut-throat-game, however I would just rather watch something that isn't done in the "junior high" sort of mentality.
For example, what would it be like to watch a show full of Dr. Will Kirbys? Cleverly manipulating, backstabbing, plotting...

Who really cares that Kaysar wants Daniele to win, he oviously wanted anyone to win except himself when he was in the game,America (including myself) voted him back in the game when he was voted out, for him to come back in and get put out the very next day. I really dont care if I never see any of the past houseguest who didn't have any kind of stategy.(namely Howie) when they were there if they had maybe they would have been winners. Howie with that Jedi nonsense, was so childish and immature, I couldn't wait for him to leave, he likes Dick because he reminds him of his rude and silly self.
I hope Dick and Danielle get to the final two. I also like the fact that they aren't politically correct. For the last few years it seems to me the politically correct people have run the show. It had just got really boring. Everyone voted the way the HOH wanted week after week. Zach is such a floater. I think it was a coincidence that he finally won something, and now he's saying that he purposely lost all of the competitions.
I know a lot of people DO like Kaysar &/or Howie and I posted that for them. I find it interesting to see former HG take on the show since they (WAY more than us) have a better perspective on how the whole thing works.

I can't wait to see the 2nd comp. I was surprised that it's Dick standing to face Zach and not Daniele. I was also surprised at her taking Dick off the seat with the POV. I actually always thought she was a good girl (with issues from a screwed up situation), but that still surprised me. I read that someone's child (orkmommy?) started preschool. Hang on to those days, those faces, those proud moments...those were great years with my 3 children, and I dearly love every memory of it!

I'm not sure when Zach became one of the "good people". From what I remember, "the good people" lumped him in with the "bad people" for the majority of the show.

Wouldn't it be funny if in the real world Dick was the type of person who would give his last dime to help someone, and Zach was the type who would care less if someone was in need? Never know, could be that way. Who really knows.

I WISH I could have heard the Howie - Kayser interview. I loved those guys. Was not surprised to hear Kayser's comments about Jam's style of religion. Kayser was never in-your-face about it and I totally respected him for it. Now HE was a nice guy! A GOOD guy! And I just loved Howie's bizarreness.
