I know I'm getting old. I think "Without You" is a Harry Nilsson song, not a Mariah Carey one.

The bottom three are Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, and Brooke White.

I loved that ending with Kristy serenading Simon, it sort of had poetic justice. Simon genuinely looked sad. It was a nice farewell for Kristy and she should be getting her horse back now after that! The media is bound to make that happen for her at least, which I think would be nice.
Jackie, we must be about the same age! When my husband & I heard Carly sing that song we both looked at each other & said "Mariah Carey? That's a Harry Nilsson song!" I've still got the 45! Guess just owning 45s make me old!

I also knew that was Nilsson song. I must be old as dirt too as I do not associate that song with Mariah.
In fact, I think Carly would have done better singing the Nilsson version rather than Mariah's version. But the audience apparently responded and kept her out of the bottom 3.
I thought Kristy was getting better with each passing week, more confident and her voice sounded better. But it was her time to go considering the talent of this year's group. There were other seasons where she would have been the best and among the top 5, I do believe.
I got misty eyed when Elliot Yamin held up his hand and written on it was " We miss you Mom". I also lost my mother to cancer a few years back and also my father a few years before that.
