Two hapless hamsters are up for eviction while two showmances seem to be flourishing. Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Bumbling Bores:
- Britney told Monet she wouldn't campaign against her -- she won't say a word.
- Enzo, who should be happy not to be on straight slop, complained about his Have Not food. The fish sticks are too fattening and the fruitcake is "caca." Of course, he can still have slop and various condiments. They checked out a list of allowable foodstuffs. He's not happy.
- Britney said she had hoped the fruitcake would have tasted better. She likes the fish sticks okay.
- Britney talked with Rachel, throwing Monet under that proverbial bus as she claimed she can't win comps like Monet and Monet, the more dangerous player, should go home instead of her.
- So much for Britney's promise to Monet, eh?
- Enzo ate some ketchup. Well, it's an allowed condiment, after all.
- Monet talked to Rachel. She cried. Rachel told her that she was nominated because she thought Brendon and herself would be targeted if Monet won HOH.
- Not only have Monet and Britney been crying, so has Rachel. She seems very ill-equipped to play the ruthless HOH card.
- Ragan says he lives by the Golden Rule, treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. He's in the Big Brother house. What was he thinking?
- Ragan is pretty nice to all.
- Monet said that she hates Kathy because her eyelashes look like spiders. Meow.
- Enzo has issues with his lawn chair bed in the Have Not room.
- I think Enzo is used to comfort and food.
- Sometime today will be the POV comp, not sure exactly when. I'll be posting on it this evening.

scMonet is right. Her eyelashes do look like spiders. a little too much over the top for me.
Hey Jackie! I'm way late to the party but am finally checking in. Hope everyone's been having a great summer!
Monet hates Kathy because her eyelashes look like spiders? Seriously????
I like Ragan and Kathy. I don't see the others lasting until the end bc they are so intense, but don't know if Ragan and Kathy have the strategy to either.
So glad it's summer!
Witt :)
Monet hates Kathy because her eyelashes look like spiders? Seriously????
Witt, I had the same reaction and then I remembered how high school was. With that mentality it's a fine reason to hate somebody!
It will be fun to see if either gal can win the POV. It would be great to see a strong player win and see the gals try to get off the block. It would be great to see GAME!
Enzo could try mixing some mayo and sweet relish to make some tartar sauce in a pinch. It might help.
Lots of sugar in ketchup.
Its no reason to hate, but I have to agree with Monet on the eyelashes. I always see a young Tammy Faye Baker (minus all the other make-up) when they close in on Kathy's eyelashes.
I agree with Laurie also. Its soooo high school.
For all of the Rachel haters: you should watch the video of when Britney and Monet (separately) went to talk to Rachel.
I give Rachel TONS of credit for how she handled it. She didn't lie, she mostly just listened with seemingly genuine compassion. I almost thought that she believed their lies (about how Rachel and Brendon wouldn't have been their targets... yeah right sure) but later on it was clear that Rachel saw right through them but even so, she was very kind to both of them. I didn't see any catty behavior from Rachel at all.
Britney and Monet were PATHETIC though in how they went crying up to Rachel!!! As if Rachel did not just have her own week of hardships with no sympathy from either of them! And without any sense of irony, Britney tells Rachel she should pay attention to who comes talking to her now but hasn't spoken much with her before. Um, like who? Oh yeah, like Britney and Monet!
Ew.
OTOH, I still like Britney but really want Monet gone. I cannot stand Monet now.
But once Monet is gone, I will be hard pressed to find another that I want evicted because I like everyone else. They'll have to reveal more shadiness. I suppose Matt might be my next in line, I don't trust him.
Thanks, FA, that was funny about B giving R advice to watch out who comes to talk to her. I hope they show it for us!
It is so hot in SoCal today, I'm wondering what they are all doing. This would be a good napping day, I think.
1:47 and the feeds are back but I can't yet tell what happened...
I think Britney won POV?
LOL, Britney is trying to explain to a weeping Monet that "this is just like last week, I'll take myself off and convince Rachel that she needs to backdoor someone!!"
Yeah, but like who?
Buh bye Monet!
Now Meow Meow is conspiring with Britney and Monet about hwo they're going to backdoor someone this week.
The delusional trio!
Rachel's best bet would be to put Kristen up as a pawn. Then Hayden will spend all week campaigning for her.
But I think they're going to put up Matt because they'd be happy with either Monet or Matt going.
Too bad. Kristen is the one who ensures Monet goes.
"You do us this favor. It will not be forgotten."
--Brendon doing his best mafioso, talking to Rachel about asking Britney not to use the POV on herself.
Hah! Britney will NEVER fall for it. Never ever ever ever!
I hope they have a backup plan.
You show me someone who doesn't use the POV for him or herself and I'll show you a fool ... for sure. I don't think Britney is a fool. Why is Brendon even asking her to do that?
FA - I saw how Rachel handled both Britney and Monet and I was impressed, not only by her kindness, but by her grammar and vocabulary...her overall demeanor. It leads me to believe Rachel is playing a role of the "ditsy cocktail waitress" and that it's really all just an act. She seemed genuine and sweet to both Britney and Monet while NOT being fooled by either one at all. I am liking Rachel just more and more.
Dr. C., I guess we are in the minority wrt Rachel.
I'm glad they are getting strategy advice from Ragen, he's smart and he's logical.
Dr. C., also wrt Rachel being a cocktail waitress: although she has a degree in chemistry, there is NO doubt that she can make better money in Vegas as a waitress then working in a lab. No doubt whatsoever.
Matt the weasel just told Lane how R&B are considering using him as the pawn, and he told Lane the exact thing he told R&B which is that whoever is the pawn will likely return the favor in the future, using R/B as a pawn which would be dangerous. Matt advised Lane to be sure to mention that to R&B if/when they approach him, just to scare them into not using him but to instead choose a weaker player (Kathy?).
I wonder why they are not considering Kristen? They know that Hayden/Kristen are a quasi-couple-alliance-(twins) so why don't they realize that maybe it's a good idea to break them up? Not intentionally but if their pawn plan fails, they need to think of who the next best person to leave is.
But I think R&B have an imaginary alliance with H&K (that is, R&B believe they do but H&K do not).
Darn, I just missed something when I was typing my last post.
2:35-2:40 on Cam 3 - reminder to self to watch it on flashback.
Rachel started to say something to Brendon but then stopped and I didn't catch what she was saying and Brendon got a bit paranoid that Rachel was trying to keep something from him. But I don't know what it was.
Oh goody, Lane just showed up fresh with Matt's advice in his head.
First thing out of Rachel's mouth is she's keeping her prior word to Lane (we hugged on it!) to not put him up.
Oops, now Kristen crashes the party, so Lane leaves.
Interesting, Rachel and Kristen are alone now in HOH. Kristen promises Rachel that she "has her back wrt Britney" and she sounds uber sincere, but I can't really tell. I don't know if Kristen is genuine with Rachel or if she's genuine with Hayden, because I thought I heard her saying to Hayden that she doesn't like R&B.
??? I'm so confused.
Kristen really dislikes Britney. I mean, really really dislikes her. So, she is aligning with R&B right now in anticipation of Britney trying to gather supporters to keep Monet for a coup attempt.
Now Britney crashes the party and Kristen hightails it outta there!
Britney kissing Rachel's butt. Wonder what her purpose is now?
Britney just sold her soul. She beings by telling Rachel how appreciative she was of her kindness. So Rachel asks her point blank: if you win HOH next week, would you put me and Brendon up?
Britney says No, No Way. LIAR!
I hope Rachel sees through her!!!
Britney is campaigning against Andrew now. Weak. She just gave Rachel the reason to KEEP Andrew! LOL. Britney tells Rachel that Andrew is coming after her (Britney) and that's why he's her target. Hah, so yeah, Rachel you better keep Andrew safe.
FA, if Rachel is acting the part of being ditzy then I'll give her credit for being good at it. I would love to believe that, really I would. I hope they show some of her intelligent side on the show. If she is playing everybody then she has my admiration and support!
FA--You seem to be convinced that Rachel is playing a good game. I'll I'm hearing is good behavior. That's nice, and maybe it's even strategy. Guess we'll see.
As I mentioned before, it doesn't make sense to take someone else off the block when you win POV and go home. It doesn't make sense to make unforced promises to the weakest player in the house. ...Sorry, I'm not gettin' it.
FA I don't need the feeds with your play by play. Thanks and keep it up!
It sounds like most in the house do not like Britney. Hopefully then, she'll be gone soon enough if not this week.
Rachel is my pool girl so it's nice that maybe she might gain some respect back or at least not be so hated by the rest of the bloggers haha. I shall stay mum for now.
ML
JimmyB, I don't even know whether "playing a good game" matters in these types of shows, because there is so much that depends on pure LUCK. So, imho, being a decent person and keeping your integrity is the best way to "play" because there's just as much chance you can win that way as not.
That's my observation after years of watching BB and Survivor.
Besides, as I mentioned earlier somewhere, Rachel *has* been playing in the sense that she 1) came in 2nd for the first POV; 2) won HOH and 3) stayed cool in the midst of a) 10 days on slop b) being a have-not c) being on the block and d) being on the block with her BFF. And not ONCE did she go crying to the HOH about it.
That's playing the game my way.
ML, heh, no I can't keep up this pace, it just happened that I was watching when some interesting things were happening.
It's exhausting trying to keep up with these hamsters, I give Jackie tons of kudos for doing it!
Although to be honest, I was doing housework with headphones on just listening and running to the computer every now and then. LOL at least my floors are clean now.
Entertainment Weekly mag did a poll asking, "What is your favorite season of Big Brother?". They listed the top five.
38% - Season 11 - Jordan won the season and found a boyfriend (Jeff); the pair went on to compete on The Amazing Race.
17% - Season 6 - Janelle led the fight against the reviled Nerd Herd.
16% - Season 7 - Mike Boogie took home the prize in this all-star edition.
7% - Season 2 - Dr. Will oozed smarm or charm-depending on who you asked-and ended up winning it all.
5% - Season 8 - Formerly estranged father-daughter combo Evel Dick and Danielle dominated the game.
Guess the other 17% was divided up among the rest of the seasons.
They also had a sound bite" shoutout to Rachel for...."Somebody that really stuck out to me was Andrew because he's Jewish and so he wears a Yom Kippur-I believe that's what it's called." - Rachel about her new housemate who wears a yarmulke on BB12.
I don't agree with the order of that top five except for maybe #1. Loved J&J.
So let me see if I have this right....Britney has won POV and is now campaigning as to who should replace her? I don't really care for Monet so I wouldn't mind seeing her leave.
I thought I read somewhere that Kristen/Hayden were talking about an alliance with Rachel/Brendan. That wouldn't be a bad idea...they could give the "brigade" a real challenge. Of course, Hayden might have a problem since he would be in both alliances!
I haven't really been that interested enough to be reading Joker's Update...this week the HOH should be the first endurance comp. That will get me reading the minute-to-minute accounts.....
I think the better players thru the years have won by using their heads & using strategy. Yes, luck plays a role. I think brains, physical ability and the drive to win play a bigger role. There definitely have been exceptions, and those things have gotten players evicted. It's still more likely to get them $500,000. I'd play the odds and use strategy. It's probably also more entertaining:)
