Hey, this post isn't about television!
Um. What did I do this past week? Well, I napped a lot. I watched television. I read. I hung out on the computer. I cooked. I baked. I did some housecleaning. I napped some more. I didn't take any day trips. I basically goofed off.
But, it was worth it! I feel very relaxed. Onto the photos, as few as there are, for the week --
Scotch Plains Farmers Market |
Plainfield has a farmers market each year, but that one's small, on a workday for me and I don't think they've started it yet. The Scotch Plains Farmers Market has several different vendors -- not just one farm with produce and flowers. Lots of produce limited only by the season, but there's also pastries, ethnic foods from different countries, a Picklelicious tent, even a local winemaker. Our growing season has been off this spring. I only bought some asparagus and a few beautiful green peppers.
Deadly nightshade |
I keep seeing this in new and different places each year. This time it's growing along a fence at East Front and Berckman streets in Plainfield.

I love an iris |
The very colorful irises on Berckman Street a few doors down from this house have passed. These are rather small, but delightful.
Allium |
Most of the allium blooms are gone as well. This one is hanging in there on Berckman Street.
Rhododendron |
Alas, these too are in their last days and most are already gone. Also on Berckman Street in Plainfield.
Merry Monks! |
I had this fairly local microbrew (Easton, PA,) a few years ago in a bar on an evening out with a friend. I've been watching for it ever since. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I enjoy many of the small brewery efforts. I found the Park Beverage in Scotch Plains is carrying it. Yay! I indulged. I bought a six-pack.
Yep, they're red |
Flowers growing in front of a house on Berckman Street.
Pretty in a planter |
Yet another planter |
Spring Saturday |
Yesterday was a picture perfect late spring day -- blue skies accented with harmless puffy white clouds, temperatures around 70. This is the view looking down East Second Street at the intersection with Berckman Street in Plainfield.
Fruity! |
I ordered a lot of fruit in my Peapod grocery delivery this week. If you ordered $20 worth, they had a promo code for $5 off. I've made blueberry muffins, had dishes of blueberries and strawberries, made a version of mini-strawberry shortcakes, snacked on watermelon and bananas and made a big fruit salad. Mmm.
One spoiled Vincent |
With me on a staycation almost to the literal sense of the pseudo-word, Vincent has been in his glory this past week. I obviously took the week off just to spend it as a cat couch, a cat playmate and a tender to all cat needs.

I love the night shade. Hello Vincent!
Hey, Jackie and Mr. V. This is the first time all summer that I have managed to come check out the pictures. Beautiful flowers.
