BB19: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - August 16
As the show airs here, I'll be live-blogging and constantly updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!
PLEASE be respectful to your fellow commenters!
But first ... let's sit out this recap.
Elena doesn't feel totally safe, but knows Cody is a target. Cody knows it's a backdoor plan. Paul and Alex discuss taking out Elena if Cody wins veto and the noms remain the same. Alex thinks they need to target Matt and Reven. Alex wants to steamroll all the way to the end with Paul.
Kevin and Cody talk. Kevin misses his family. Kevin tells us if he cries on TV, he wouldn't be able to go back home. He looks as sad as you can without bursting into tears.
Veto player pick time. Alex first pulls Mark's chip. He tells us he would keep noms the same and keep Cody in the house. Alex pulls her own chip, then names Paul as her choice.
Kevin told Cody his biggest problem in the game was taking with the showmances. Cody tells Kevin about his daughter and told him to keep it confidential.
Their is an Outback set-up in the yard. They launch arrows at adventures on a map. It's the comp with the prizes for all and people can swap prizes from those who are out before them.
Paul out first and he won the veto. (But it surely will be taken away.) Mark is eliminated and wins a trip to Colorado for two. Jason out next, gets tandem skydiving punishment with another HG. Jason takes Paul's veto. Now Paul has the tanDAM punishment (as Josh would say). Matt out next, wins an Xreme-itard. He takes the veto from Jason.
Elena and Alex make a deal not to curse each other with a punishment. Alex is eliminated. She wins 5000 and is thrilled. Elena gets camp guide. take camping equipment and cook hot dogs. Cody hints to Elena that she should take the money from Alex and not the veto from Matt.
Alex is SO ticked. Paul chooses Christmas as his sky dive partner.
Cody tells Elena that he would have taken the money. He also told her that she's a target already. He's hoping that Elena might have made herself a bigger target and it might save his game. He doesn't tell Elena that part.
Alex invites everybody, including Cody, up to the HoH room ... except Alex. Cody tells us he doesn't like any of them.
Jason gets his Xtreme-itard. He has to scream that he's so extreme every time the BB voice talks about him being extreme. Paul and Christmas only have to go two days in their skydiving outfits, complete with helmets and goggles. For a week -- Jason is also a week -- Alex has to lug around heavy camping gear, set up a tent, cook hot dogs for all, then pack up again every time BB blows the bugle. She is SO angry at Elena.
Cody tries to improve his standing, offering to help Alex. The show is definitely being edited to give viewers the idea that Elena might be more of a target. Um. Sure.
Matt's Outback Steakhouse Reward time -- he can choose five guests for a dinner in the backyard. Mark, Elena, Paul and Alex are going with him. Paul gives his spot to Christmas.
Cody goes to talk to Jason and Alex. Cody reminds them that he saved the both of them and all but begs for them not to put him up. Alex tells us Cody is making sense to her.
Um. Yeah.
Matt knows that if he saves himself, he won't be replaced and the others will probably be mad because Cody won't go up.
Matt saves Jason with the veto. Alex puts Cody on the block. Backdoor Plan in motions.

Hi Jackie and all who follow... strawberry shortcake over at the bar
~~~~SPLASH~~~~
Hi folks. I'm all but done with this season. WTF is the point of their constantly ganging up on people? And boy are they in for a rude awakening when half of them are about to be on the other side of that equation.
Hey Jackie and Joe
I agree Joe.I am over the Paul show and done with all the meanness.
~*~*~*~ SPLASH ~*~*~**
Hey Monty! Hey Jackie & Vincent! Hi everyone!
♥
Strawberries, YUM! We may have some whipped cream in the mini-fridge... Yes, we do. And, wait, we have some champagne! yay
I didn't bring anything except Stella. I'll be in the shallow end tonight, less waves. ☺
Of course Matt doesn't know he's only 3 people from the door.I hope Raven is worth it, idjit.
Hi Jackie and everyone else that follows. It should be interesting seeing the veto comp.
Hi Joe, Cheryl and Petals!
Stupid Matt. Look at all the crap he did for them. He just doesn't have a clue.
(Joe & Cheryl - someone on Twitter called Paul "NaPauleon". I thought it was funny, but I didn't call him that myself, to be clear)
Jason & Alex really believe they are Paul's closest allies. Wow.
Wish I could be a fly on the walls of these people when they watch the show and/or any feeds someone may be recording for them. bwhahaaaaa
Oh...that's so sad
JOE!!!! hi
Kevin remains my favorite
~~~~~~SPLASH~~~~~~~ Howdy folks!! Special hi to our wonderful hostess & host Jackie & Vincent..
Can't eat any strawberries until I have dinner...its cooking on the BBQ which ran out of gas so I am way behind tonight. We will have a medium roast beef with some steamed fresh carrots and zucchinis in just a few minutes
SueGee from the LeftCoast
I like Kevin as well
Your last mistake, Cody...trusting Kevin
It's difficult to not like Kevin, but I wish he wasn't such a "yes"man (so is Jason). He has a good heart, wants to counsel these idiots, but no one will listen. How funny, Kevin thought Cody said, "Basil" was his daughter's name.
BTW - I have a pic of Cody & Paisley on my Twitter @petals1031
Petals - got your glasses to watch the eclipse?? We will have ~76% blockage here IF the fog cooperates
True Joe - Kevin can't keep a secret for anything!
Uhoh - storm warning @@
Kevin is my pool pick!! May he stay a whole lot longer and make some moves! I think he has them in him....
There are literally more people on the outside of that alliance than in it. They just all think they are in it.
Kevin, Cody, Elena, Mark, Matt, Raven, Josh lately are all on the outside looking in. Only Cody and Mark/Elena seem to realize it. Even there, Elena doesn't seem completely understanding. The rest of them just keep obeying orders and standing in line at the exit.
I wonder if they'll even be surprised when it is their time to go.
Hi everyone!
It has little chance of happening, but I'm cheering for Kevin or Mark for the 500k win.
I never get why people lie about their age, their jobs, hide that they have kids. As Judge Judy would say, "The truth is easy. You don't have to remember which lie you said."
Yes, Sue! *hi SUE*
We are one hour from 100% totality. It may be cloudy, but I'm still going to be watching!
I ordered 12 pair for myself and my office 3 months ago. They are ISO certified and all that jazz. I also have an eclipse t-shirt.
By me, they are closing schools. All our older patients are canceling appointments, afraid to be out of their houses. @@
That's the key, Joe. They all believe they're in strong with Paul and the alliance, but the real alliance is Paul and Alex.
True, Jackie! I love Judge Judy (and she is a ringer for my mother)
You know with a Paul and Alex final 2... Alex could maybe take the win...haha now that would make for good tv
Jackie - Cody told Jess he didn't want to share his daughter with the house b/c he feared they'd use it against him. He wasn't far from wrong about that, given how they've behaved this week.
Besides, Derrick lied about his job and is considered one of the best BBers ever.
So I guess you never know which lie will work, and which will come back to haunt you.
The Johnny Mac laugh :)))
Ewww, Mike Boogie's booger picking! yuck
Geez
okay, so let me get this right, Elena won, is on the block and DIDN'T TAKE THE VETO....
By the way, she could have taken the veto and NOT PISSED OFF ALEX by taking the money.
Why do they not throw her out?
Dumb move Elena... you're just lucky that Cody is the true target. Would love if they would vote her out, but as soon as they hear Julie say double eviction they will go back to voting out Cody.
I think Elena knew she's in their sights, so she'd never make it to the end anyway.
Might as well take the extra cash.
I don't know whether to be impressed or depressed that these morons keep leaving themselves in harms way but somehow DON'T get voted out.
And Jackie, I don't think I have ever had a "lamb burger" in my whole life. Love lamb, and I don't think I have ever seen it ground in a package here.
Joe - the "power" in the house is so hyper-focused on ONE person, they all feel safe.
Yes, Monty, dumb move. And she pays for it (not sure if you're caught-up).
Sue -- It's something I grew up eating. I don't buy it often as it can be costly. It's tastier than hamburgers or turkey burgers.
Haven't watched the feeds since last night, Petals. Have they flipped?
Petals - I know what Cody said. I just think it's not a good idea. It actually might have helped him fit in better at the start.
Jackie - something I will try if I see it!
yes, Ms J - you're right. He, Kev & Jason could have bonded over being dads & stuff.
Too little, too late.
Monty - No, I mean Elena paid for taking Alex's prize when she was attacked yesterday. The kitchen broufuffle. LOL
weirdness in the HOH
Hey everyone! Nachos and hot sauce! Help yourself... be careful just out of the oven!
Oh, gotcha. I wasn't thinking of that, lol. Too many fights to keep track of this year.
I always say that I just want to be entertained and I don't care who wins. I'm really not feeling entertained this year. The only thing these people do is bully the 4 people at the bottom of the House. That's not even interesting anymore, much less fun to watch.
The Cody hide the child bit is WAY different from Derrick, who was used to playing someone else in his job not telling them about his job. It's more like Cody's silly age lie. Had he mentioned the child in the beginning, he would have had an automatic bond with both Kevin and Jason. But thanks for the lesson.
Hi Judi
I actually have three avocados I bought yesterday on sale. Fresh guac on the nachos YUMM
See, everything is game playing. Cody wasn't going up there to be social... it was game. Wish he would have played that way earlier then it would be an entirely different game.
Joe - most of them were probably bullies in school and it shows! No hijinx just yelling
Hey Sharon! Ooooo Guam sounds great for the nachos Sue!
Hey Judi!
Alex will be bringing the Hotdogs!
Guac sounds great Sue.... Dang autocorrect LOL
Jackie was right - Elena could never have completed this task; she would crumble.
It does oddly seem like they always tell stupid lies that don't matter. Derrick hiding that he's a cop. Who would have cared? Same with that cop on Survivor. Being a cop might help you be seen as trustworthy. Well, or make someone hate you because they hate cops. But in the Post-911 world, all first responders seem to be given more cachet.
Cody's age lie was lame. 32/26/16...who would have cared.
Avocados are going up again. Pretty soon they will have to come down. Not going to pay $2 for one!
awww, poor Cody.
I don't feel sorry for him not one iota
Hi Petals! Paul is Alex's do or die.... I've never seen so many people backstab... yell at each other up and then move on like nothing happened.
Thank you Joe, true. Who cares?
SueGee, I love quac but can't stand to just eat a slice of an avocado. I know, strange!
Except, Monty, other than Paul/Alex and Jody, it really doesn't seem like anyone else is playing much. Kevin a little bit. Mark tried being a double agent. Elena rubbing on Paul, I guess, could be viewed as game play. But other than obey Paul's wishes, what have the rest of them done?
Christmas's big move appears to be to pick fights with people...mostly people already slated for eviction, so not really very strategic there. Josh does EVERYTHING Paul tells him. Matt has been completely obedient to the point of leaving himself on the block. Raven has done nothing. Jason? Just seems to be himself.
Raven didn't mind being left out? She doesn't seem selective about what goes in her mouth...
What do ya know.Paul did a nice thing
Judi, I wonder if Jason knows that Alex's #1 is Paul?
I think Paul is also Krampus's do or die...she mentioned it only once tho, not sure if she remembers it.
Paul just bought some votes with forfeiting his Outback (*giggle*) invite.
real question: Does anyone know what Raven CANNOT eat? She seems to partake of everything, including alcohol. I am ignorant of her disease.
Took me a long time to like a slice of avocado in a sandwich, but sometimes it is good! Don't eat it by itself either - my midwest upbringing I guess
(i know she wasn't part of the prize dinner, but it made me wonder about the gastro- diet)
I'm sure Paul giving his Outback spot to Christmas is just a bargaining chip for later.
me too, Sue. I've never cared for avocado or guac.
Joe, Christmas is a schemer. I think Paul and Christmas play a similar game. She's just a little more quiet than he is.
Joe -- Raven cooks a lot of chicken. But others, including Cody, do know how to cook.
No way Paul takes Alex to the end
ummm...Elena...no need for the air quotes. You DID take $5000 from Alex after you promised not to.
The make-up job in Elena's diary room sessions is going to give me nightmares.
Fun show tonight. Thanks Jackie and everyone have a great evening. See you all tomorrow for the DE. Off to watch RHAP
Night everyone!!
Agree again, BF Joe. XXXmas has angry mood swings which are VERY similar to those described as side-effects of the medication she is probably taking for her foot. Just my opinion (as someone who works in medical field, prescribes narcs and have taken them).
Thank you Jackie!!
See you guys tomorrow ♥ for the big Double Eviction. We should bring foods/dishes that come in doubles, like twice-baked potatoes, double-cheese lasagna or DoubleStuff Oreos. LOL
I don't care for either guacamole or avocados. Ew.
Thanks for coming by!
Lol Jackie and as always thanks for having us over.Goodnight all see ya tomorrow for all the fun!!
Tangled webs being weaved left and right!
Jason thinks he is Alex's 'ride or die.'
Paul and Alex have a F2.
BUT, doesn't Paul also have the same bargain with Christmas?
In either case, he'd be smarter (and safer) to take Raven. Not many like Raven, and I think that includes Matt. I'm not sure Paul could stand to be around her that long. We shall see.
I like Avocados and Guac ... if it's made with the lots of spices and not simply chopped up avocado.
Thanks again Jackie!
See you all Thursday, and I guess Friday too!
YAY, we get extras!!
Sorry I missed the party gang. The reason Derrick lied about being a cop is that his job is investigating,separating the truth from lies,and going undercover. They lie to suspects all the time so they got that going for them too. All of those skills are extremely valuable in the game of BB. He would have been a fool to reveal it.
Looking forward to Cody's funeral tomorrow. I'll be bringing bells and whistles to celebrate.
Uncartie - it isn't like you to dance on the grave of an evicted BB houseguest. Let's have MORE fun by watching who goes crazy in the double eviction! HAHAAA!
Petals,Know what the biggest curse and punishment in the game this year is?
No,it's not Alex having to be the park ranger.
It's whoever gets voted out after Cody and has to spend a week in jury alone with him.
I do not believe Paul will take anyone but Nosh to the final. He thought he could win lSt year with Nicole. He won't take any one who he thinks could beat him. So, I think he takes Josh.
Thank you for hosting us, Jackie.
Also, Cody said in his bio he was going to lie about his age and play hard from the beginning. He also mention his favorite player was Evil Dock (but added that he only liked his game play, might not like him in person). Least favorite player has always been Paul. AND, he mentions his daughter in pre-house interviews.
I just had a thought on what the difference is between Derrick's lie and others in there this season and other seasons. Derrick didn't ever tell anyone (that I can remember) what his lie was. He never told anyone he was really a cop/detective. That's the difference. If you're going to tell a lie then don't tell one single person in there the truth. It's bound to come out in the Big Brother game and then that's a reason to start a target game.
*and Kevin should have never told Josh and Paul that he got the 25K. It isn't a smart move but Kevin doesn't know the game... his daughters put him up to applying. Never ever give up your lies or game prizes even to your ride or die in there unless you are Boogie and Dr. Will.
Have to agree with you, Monty. If you are going to tell anyone. Don't tell them anything you don't want them to know. They are not friends, they want to win,too. Well, not this group, anyway.
