BB23: Live Feeds POV Update - August 23

Well, Xavier ...?

This isn't a lengthy report. Nothing really lengthy worthy has been happening. Obviously, a short worthy event happened. The veto meeting was today.

As expected, Xavier saved himself. You really can't blame the guy. Even if you know you're safe, never not use the veto you won to take yourself off the block. If you don't use it ... well, just remember Marcellas.

Also as expected, SarahBeth put Derek X up as the renom. It's a shame he didn't try for the High Rollers this week.

Wow…. It is a shame he didn’t use the high roller bucks! I like Derek X. It really will be sad to see him go. Thanks Jackie!

Why hasn’t anyone noticed “the cookout”??? It’s so obvious who they are voting out. I like to see some back and forth and this season is all one sided. Same people put up. I wish Big D would step it up and win something. He might not have a chance now. If the cookout takes out one of their own. I really want Derek X to win.

I love DX and would like to see him win

Aren't they having a competition for someone to come back? They do every year. It can't be THIS BORING.

I agree....i have been all over the place with who i wanted but i think DX deserves it.

Frustrating that do-nothing (except kill bugs) Derek F has a HUGE following... he'll probably win AFP. :(

My vote for AFP would be Derek X. Likeable and smart.
He would have gone a lot further if he hadn't trusted Kyland.

Any chance they will vote out Claire instead of dx??? I like Claire too but would rather have dx stay in the game....sighhh...To bad he didn't play the roulette game...what was he thinking??

I really like Derek X also, however he out smarted himself, thinking about next week instead of what's in front of him, I think Claire tried to tell him that they were coming after him, he didn't listen and almost every time they have some one come back in the game they get voted again and surely it would happen with the Cookouts in charge, so now he will leave with his $200 buck given to him by people that voted and gave it to him. So unless Claire will HOH, she will be next or maybe Alyssa and then Sarabeth. Sorry about Derek X, but he never had a chance. In the beginning, He and Tiffany had a final 2, but somewhere things changed.

The Cookout is counting on having 2 from their alliance at the end. It's pretty much a sure thing at this point, and I believe Derek F could end up being 1 of those two. He's done nothing in the game, but as we know from seasons past... a bitter jury could hand it to "That Guy"... the one who Did Nothing (except kill bugs and a few dishes).

I just hope AFP goes to someone outside their alliance (cough-cough Derek X).

It was amateur gymnastics class today - so many people attempting a FLIP 😆

I give the Cookout full props for keeping their alliance under the radar, and to the strategy they've employed getting this far. That being said, I wonder how it will make things in future BB seasons for contestants of color to get by.

I think this is a one-season push, that future HGs of color will be evicted early on so no future "cookouts" can emerge. Of course, the casting department can always make a difference. I can't remember so many HGs of color in previous seasons.

Derek X blew his game, Claire assisted him, Hannah assisted him and only one of them is going to follow him out the door... that's right, my girl Claire! ugh

monty924 said...

crob, I said that too a couple of weeks ago. No other season going forward will have this advantage.

sorry *chrob

While CBS wanted to make a positive push in reality TV history by hiring 50% POC, I fear that will only serve to divide future groups.

monty924 said...

100% Petals!!!

Nickelpeed said...

Well, crap! Dang it! I don't want Derek X to leave!!!

Nickelpeed said...

Petals and Monty, I hear Survivor will be over 50% POC. I don't mind that at all. But I also heard it is the most politically charge Survivor ever. I hate seeing that. If you polarize people, you take so much away from the game.

I like having a more diverse group but I think in the future they will need to be more equal #s between the groups.

I think this group of players were equally diverse it's just that the Cookouts struck first, and was smart enough to implement there plan to get others to trust them, it's been done on previous BB's shows all the time.

If any one of the cookout wins I hope it is Azah. She has been the only one that has shown true emotions over what they are doing.

The cookout is a great example of racism. There has been groups of white ppl but they NEVER said it was because they were white. The cookout has made it perfectly clear that blacks ONLY are a part of it.
BB you did a great job of showing America that not only can whites be racist but blacks can be too. Was that one of their qualifications? I hope you call at the all black group about the racism like you have other houseguest in the past. Of course, their excuse will be a flimsy one, "we just wanted to see a black person win".
STILL RACIST!!

Jackie S. said...

Unknown - Please check the definition of "racism." And, we're not going to get into that discussion here.

I agree with you. It's a game of deception and lies. The Cookout has done it better and faster. Whether people like this group or not doesn't take away from the fact that they were smart enough to not only form their alliance, but make crucial decisions going forward. And despite having individual issues within their alliance, they've managed to keep it together... for now.

Meanwhile, the rest of the HGs were making [what they should have known was] false 'friendships' and perfectly happy with all the Kumbaya moments. Stupid is as stupid does.

With that said, there are always things I don't like about large alliances. Don't forget, we've also had totally mean-spirited and nasty alliances as well (ahem, Paul immediately comes to mind).

ooops... I was replying to Anon 8:24 and typed the wrong time stamp.

From the perspective of a POC, it sucked watching BB and seeing POC targeted for no real reason other than they don't really fit in with other HG's and that would be most times because of color. Then it would always only be 2, maybe 3 so I was highly surprised when I saw this seasons cast. They understood from previous seasons that if they did not stick together, none of them would win. Danielle from season 2 was the closest POC to win and should have won but didnt. To call them racist is just ignorant to what true racism is. It's a game of lies and deceit and Tiffany and crew got together really fast, made a plan and implemented it very fast and they have stuck to it. The brigade did the same thing. Are they chauvinistic for not adding women to their alliance? Are they racist for not adding POC? It's gamesmanship not racism. Stepping off soapbox, lmao. Just try to look at it from a different perspective sometimes and then you can understand some things better. JMHHO
