The Amazing Race 35: A Sunset, Seattle Scramble - Ep. 12 Season Finale Blog Party

Yes, we're at the season finale. Although I have my random blog pool pick still in there as well as an outright personal favorite team apart from the pool, any of the three teams remaining winning this would be fine. All three teams are likable and have really done their best ... with no arguing or nastiness. Kudos to all three!

I will be live-blogging and updating this post constantly as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest updates. As always, the real blog party is in the comments. I hope to see you there!

Lifeguard SueGee has once again updated the blog pool and here's where we stand going into tonight's show:

Greg & John -- Brent McKee, Jackie, Judi Sweeney
Joel & Garrett -- ChicMc, Ethan, Willie J, Jasonuwp
Rob & Corey -- marthalight, PDX Granny, Sharon N

Are you ready? Let's GO!

Skipping through the Previously On bits!

Rob/Corey get the clue that directs them to fly to Seattle, Washington. The next clue will be at the base of the Space Needle. The three teams are on the same flight.

The teams are RUNNING to their vehicles at the airport. At least with the Space Needle so tall, it's easy to find. They have to walk around the rim of the Space Needle for the next clue. Only one member of a team has to go alone. Rob/Corey are first. Corey is doing the walking! He finds a clue leading him to a man and the glass center. John up next.

Rob/Corey have the next clue - Seattle Scramble - Grunge, roadie. Grab, acrobatic. Glass, blow glass.

John/Greg are at the glass blowing to earn a piece of the next clue. Rob/Corey arrive at Grab. Corey finishes it. Rob's turn. Oh, not so good! Joel/Garrett are at the glass blowing with John/Greg .... both teams are having problems.

Joel/Garrett finish the glass blowing first! They have taken over first place. Rob finally got his knees on the bar but didn't have enough momentum for the other person to catch him. Wait! Next try he did it!

Joel/Garrett heading to Grunge. John/Greg finish Glass and head to Grunge. Grunge has them working as a roadie for a band. Set up the stage for their band. Corey/Rob are also heading to Grunge.

Now all three teams are at Grunge. Joel/Garrett are so close to being done. They finish and the band Smokey Brights comes out and um ... plays. They have to do Grab, then be done with the Scramble.

Rob/Corey finish Grunge and the Black Tones play. Argh ... my blog pool team John/Greg are way behind on Grunge. Finally got it and they are on their way to Grab.

Rob/Corey are at Glass. Garrett is having problems with the trapeze. Joel finally does the Grab right. Then Garrett! They are in the lead. The clue parts end up being a plane with an address in Kenmore, Washington. Meanwhile, the brothers are doing well on Grab, Corey/Rob not so much in Glass. Ah, Rob/Corey finish Glass!

Joel/Garrett get the final clue first. Roadblocks and Detours on kayaks, teams must put in chronological order. Uh-oh ... Rob/Corey seem lost on the way. All three teams are at the kayaks now. Joel/Garrett are SO close to being done but can't figure out why they are not passing the check.

Greg/John finish first and get the clue to head to the Pit Stop. Joel/Garrett make it through now, too.

Pit Stop order
1. Greg/John - my blog pool pick team WIN THE AMAZING RACE 35!
2. Joel/Garrett
3. Rob/Corey

This has been such a good season.

Howdy everyone again!! And yes, I saw that they are doing a segment with hot glass! Seattle is a center for that art!

Hey, all!

Michelle said...

Jackie, thank you blogging BB, Survivor and TAR. Plus you have created a wonderful community of people, literally from coast to coast. I’m so grateful to be included.

Hi again Sue Gee and Sharon,

Michelle said...

The most popular stained glass sheet manufacturer, Spectrum Glass was made in Woodinville, across the bay Seattle. Now it’s made in Mexico and called Oceanside Glass

Glenn Allen said...

Thanks for the info asbout the Glass Michelle.

Michelle said...

This is right up my alley!! Worked with glass of over 45 years.

monty924 said...

I love going to Craftsman Alley at Dollywood and watching them blow glass. It's fascinating!

monty924 said...

Lol... poor Rob!

Michelle said...

The brothers glass isn’t hot enough to blow and the beards glass is too hot, they need to keep spinning it or it’ll fall off.

Sharon N said...

Blowing glass takes talent. It's fascinating.

SueGee said...

I worked in the laboratory glassware industry for 32+ years, mostly with finished product then later in the raw glass field and with actual glassblowers. I have a bunch of the glass icicles for a Christmas tree

SueGee said...

They need special glasses to see the glass and if it is ready to "play" with

Sharon N said...

Michelle and SueGee so lucky!

Jackie S. said...

Thanks for the kind words, Michelle.

Glenn Allen said...

That is a very good Talent Michelle. 45 Years is a lot of experience.

Jackie S. said...

I've been to a couple different glass blowing places in Vermont.

Jackie S. said...

This is where Anna Leigh would be mean to her father. Corey is encouraging his father.

SueGee said...

You got that right Jackie! Corey is always supportive of his Dad!

Michelle said...

Too bad John and Greg didn’t get to keep their glass ball, that would have been a great momemto.

Glenn Allen said...

Sue Gee I had missed your post about the 32 years working in a Glass ware industry as well.

SueGee said...

Glenn, the company I worked for was in Southern NJ but is now completely gone except for a small sign on a building in Mexico I'm told. I know the three brothers that started and ran the company, and later their sons, are rolling in their graves.

SueGee said...

I ran the west coast location for 32 years, and when they closed it was buh-bye!! One of my glassblowers had gone on to work at UC Berkeley and he helped me get a job there.

Sharon N said...

SueGee, after so many years, that has to be so upsetting and scary.
I'm glad you were able to find a good job at UC Berkeley.

Sharon N said...

So interesting... the things we find out about each other on Jackie's blog!

SueGee said...

Being retired is the best job yet!!

Glenn Allen said...

I love the Bands playing when the teams finish setting up the Stage.

Glenn Allen said...

Sue Gee I am glad you were able to get a good job afterwards with your connection.

Michelle said...

I agree Sue, I loved my job, but I really love retirement!

Judi Sweeney said...

Hey Everyone! Finally got home to jump in!!!

SueGee said...

Welcome Judi!!

Sharon N said...

Hi Judi

monty924 said...

I echo the retirement sentiments. I loved my job too but I love not having to set the clock or work appointments, travel, etc. around my job.

Judi Sweeney said...

Good to see Jackie, SueGee, Sharon, Monty, Glenn, Michelle! Tonight’s going to be tense! I like my guys John/Greg but also like Rob/Corey and have nothing against Joel/Garrett

Glenn Allen said...

Hi Judi. I am currently on social Security Disability. In 2014 I was walking across the Parking lot going to work when I got shortness of Breath. I was a Medic in the North Carolina Army National Guard from 1981 to 1987.

Sharon N said...

Agree on retirement. Going on 26 years!
Just thinking about all the times forcing myself to work when not feeling well, or driving in bad weather. Only up now when I feel like it, no rush! It's wonderful to lay in bed and read for 1 or 2 hours. Bad weather? Appts can be changed!

Michelle said...

I like the final three teams. They have all played a great game and they seem like genuinely nice men. I’ll be happy with whoever wins.

Judi Sweeney said...

I was a school Librarian and had a hard time adjusting to retirement at first… missed being around the kiddos. But, I obviously adjusted well and LOVE being retired. I can go volunteer at one of the school libraries if I need my kids fix! LOL…

Judi Sweeney said...

I like all the remaining teams… They do seem very down to earth

Michelle said...

Ha, I still get up early, I like to walk the oak savanna trail first thing in the morning, but the rest of the day I can be create, or lazy. My choice. I highly recommend retirement.

SueGee said...

I don't miss having to commute one little bit!! Specially coming home in the dark! Or in the rain. The only way I could afford to park at the University was to carpool, and we say everything driving home...but now it is worse, they cut you off or road rage and shoot at you!

Glenn Allen said...

I like the Three remaining Teams. I agree that it is great to be able to not have to work.able

Michelle said...

Glenn, thanks for your service, too bad about the shortness of breath. That must be a terrible feeling.

Congratulations Jackie! Our Pool picks WON!!! But deep down in my heart of hearts, I wanted Rob and Corey to win.

Sharon N said...

Reading is a big thing in my family.
Sis writes stories for her own enjoyment (not published). She has a freaky mind. lol
My daughters and I all have 3 tablets each... with Kindle and Barnes&Noble Nook apps loaded on all of them. Every day, I go to BookBub and download free books for all 3 of us. If we like a particular story that's part of a series, one of us will buy subsequent editions. I got all of us extra tables, so we each have tables in each of our names. Works great... we're able to read any books that are purchased by any one of us. :)

Michelle said...

I’m tearing up too. :). Nice finish.

SueGee said...

Well, it is time for Survivor to come on here! See you all next week for that finale...

And yes, it was a very good season. BUT I like the hour long shows much much better.

Jackie S. said...

I wanted Rob and Corey to win, too. But this was still satisfying.

Mary said...

So disappointed wanted Cory & Rob to win but they were all a great final three. Nice people! Thanks Jackie for the blog!

Jackie S. said...

I must go collapse now. Thank you for coming by!

Sharon N said...

Time to rest Jackie!! Congrats on your win!

Judi Sweeney said...

Until this very moment, I purposely stopped reading Jackie’s beautiful blog tonight because I was so nervous!!! This is the first time my pool people have been so close to winning! To be honest, I was actually rooting for Rob and Corey to come in first… while at the same time, I didn’t want to jinx my guys John and Greg! Even though I’m still watching “The Amazing Race” (on the West Coast) the my curiosity (and anxiety) has gotten the best of me… so here I am Jackie… reading the HAPPY news that my John/Greg pool boys WON!!! This is a FIRST time for me!!! Sharing this victory with you Jackie, is a plus! Congratulations! Wow… now I know what it’s like to come in first! Thank you Jackie for your wonderful Blogs!!! YIPPEE!!!

Judi Sweeney said...

Me too Brent…. I was really rooting for Rob and Corey and when I started reading that they were having some hiccups, I stopped reading because I was afraid not only were they not going to win… but neither would John and Greg. So, I understand exactly how you were feeling and the rooting for Rob and Corey. But, congratulations to you too anyway!

Judi Sweeney said...

Thank you Sharon, Monty and Glenn!
