The Amazing Race 25: Blog Pool OPENS and Meet the Cast Video

Wow. This is the 25th season of The Amazing Race! Of course, since there are two seasons per year, we're not THAT OLD. We have a new night for the show this year -- one which should rid us of that pesky sports lead-up and delay problems. About time ...! The show starts this Friday night (September 26) at 8pm ET/PT.

The Magnificent Margo and Mom will be once again running the blog pool for TAR. If you wish in on the pool, please sign up on this post (and this post only) by noon ET on Friday. If you sign up on any other post, it might be missed. In the pool, you'll randomly be assigned a team to cheer on until they are Philiminated or win it all. Come join in on the fun! The prize? Why, bragging rights, of course.

I think it's time we meet the cast --

Ready? GO!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Tuesday - September 23

Derrick packs for the first time on the show

What? There are still hamsters in the house? Here's what's been going down in that Big Brother House of Prolonged Misery:
  • Lots of pool playing. I mean LOTS of it.
  • At least that's a bit better than watching them play chess.
  • Of course, the pool players are Derrick and Cody. Victoria has rarely played all summer.
  • She's barely played the game of Big Brother, either.
  • Cody is the only one exercising. He runs, lift weights, does sit-ups and crunches. He needs to regain his manly figure.
  • Derrick has alternately been teasing Victoria about "knowing the real me" and "you don't know the real me."
  • Derrick got his suitcase for the first time all summer. He found a pack of cigarettes he had bought to use to schmooze with if there had been smokers in the house.
  • He scared Victoria by telling her he was a smoker.
  • He's not.
  • They're all excited about seeing their families.
  • Victoria told the guys that she can't talk to them after Sundown on Tuesday because of Rosh Hashana.
  • They're probably relieved.
  • Cody wants BB to give them the comic page art from that comp. I don't blame him. I'd want mine if I were in there!
  • BB gave them a small amount of booze. Cody was thrilled.
  • Cody wants to become friends with fellow Jersey BBer, Enzo.
  • The Meow Meow and Model Boy. Hmm.
  • Derrick and Cody were glad there were no racist incidents in the house this season like last year's debacle.
  • I said debacle.
  • They didn't.
  • They'd probably think I'm a college professor at Harvard if they heard me using the word.
  • Victoria has calmed down a lot.
  • Derrick has told her plenty of times that, by getting her as far along as he could, it had been up to her to win comps to further herself.
  • That's about it.

Prone to loud outbursts of joy

Is sure Derrick will win it all

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Monday - September 22

They gave us comp goggles!

Yep, the three hamsters are still in the house! Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of About Five Days Too Long:
  • They haven't killed each other yet.
  • Cody and Derrick have verified and reverified that they will take each other to the final two when one of them wins the final part of the final HoH.
  • Victoria, having lost the first two parts, is totally out of it unless one takes her with him.
  • That just ain't gonna happen.
  • BB has told them they cannot tell her that they (Derrick) won't take her to the final two.
  • She's calmed down a bit at bugging him about it.
  • However, sometimes she bursts into begging.
  • I still think her jury vote will go to Derrick for the win anyway.
  • Nonetheless, she keeps hoping for a miracle.
  • (Ain't gonna happen.)
  • Yesterday, BB ordered lunch for them from Panera.
  • Lots of pool playing.
  • Some playing in the pool.
  • Much sitting around wondering about the jury.
  • At one point they discussed Survivor. Cody didn't like the winner Tony because he lied about being a cop.
  • Heh.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - September 21. 2014

Good Sunday morning to everyone! Welcome to my weekly off television topic reflection on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way! If you're looking for my latest Big Brother television show lives feeds reports, you can find those right here at this link.

I don't really have much to report on this week. I was on a staycation. I rested. I enjoyed my new refrigerator. I went to the park one day. I rested some more. Onto the photos --

This is but a teaser for the slideshow below. The ducks of Mindowaskin Park will put on a show for any human who comes along.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Sunday - September 21

I don't want to talk about this for four days!

As with any final three in the dwindling days in the house, there isn't a lot going on in the Big Brother House of Antsy Hamsters:
  • The final part of the HoH comp will be on the live finale show -- Derrick against Cody.
  • Victoria knows she's out of the whole shebang unless one of them, either of them, take her to the final two.
  • She doubts Cody will take her.
  • She thought Derrick would take her, but didn't realize until last week that Derrick and Cody had a final two deal.
  • When Cody and Derrick talked, Derrick told Cody that the Diary Room told him he cannot tell Victoria that he wouldn't/won't take her to the final two if he wins HoH.
  • Meanwhile, Victoria is coming to the realization that Derrick probably won't take her to the final two.
  • And on and on.
  • Derrick had a big long talk with her pretty much telling her he doesn't want to talk about it.
  • He claims that he doesn't know what he'll do.
  • But he did tell her (and she knew) that if he's in the final two with her, others have promised in spite that they would vote for her to win.
  • All the time they talked, Cody played pool by himself and amused himself.
  • It looks like we'll have a Cody/Derrick final two.
  • But I don't want to talk about that for the next four days!

But ... but ...

Still friends?

Just tell her, dude!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Part 2 HoH winner - September 19-20

Cody in agony locked in HoH room waiting

Well, part two of the final HoH comp is over.
  • Cody was locked forever in the HoH room alone. The feeds had been blocked for more than a few hours when BBAD came on and they finally showed him on the feeds and the show.
  • The comp had them scaling walls and putting placards with hamster faces in order.
  • Victoria apparently did not throw the comp.
  • She lost it anyway.
  • Part three will be Cody and Derrick on the live show.
  • Victoria cried before joining the boys.
  • The boys congratulated each other as winners of the show before Victoria joined them.
  • In his alone time in HoH, Cody definitely said he would take Derrick to the final two.
  • It's still a mystery which one Derrick would take if he wins HoH.

BB gave them Chinese food earlier today

Big Brother 16: Final HoH Comp, Final Three Show Blog Party - September 19

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

I hope everyone remembers that the show is on tonight! As it airs here, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news!

As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

BB gives the final three breakfast complete with champagne. Now they can reminisce.

And reminisce.

And reminisce.

Yay! Izzy the dog's visit!

Finally they show the hang gliders over the way cool set. The final HoH starts. All three can complete. "Fly high or Bye-bye."

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Thursday into Friday - September 19

I think I'm here for a reason

Good morning, hamster watchers! Before I get started with the latest oh-so exciting live feeds coverage (yeah, that's sarcasm), I'd like to direct anyone who wants to be in the Survivor blog pool over to this post here to sign up. Please do not sign up on this post. That post linked is the only place Lifeguard Laurie will be looking for pool requests!

Okay. Onto the hamsters:
  • We thought it was boring before.
  • That was nuthin'!
  • I'd like to know what's going on with the word "crush" this season. They don't eat a bag of chips; they CRUSH it. They can't win a comp; they CRUSH it. It's not a popular expression around here, but I've heard it all season on the show. What's up with that?
  • Time for me to CRUSH this live feeds report!
  • Yawn.
  • The feeds were blocked for a good part of their morning for the final three's reminiscing party, complete with champagne, orange juice and brunch.
  • Derrick, who hasn't had alcohol all season (until they gave them champagne on Wednesday night for final three) drank some. Then his tummy hurt.
  • I dunno. If it were me, I'd rather frozen strawberry margaritas rather than champagne. But, of course, they don't ask me. Nor am I there.
  • They talked about their families coming for the finale. Victoria is worried because finale night is Rosh Hashana.
  • They napped.
  • They shot baskets with the fake limes again.
  • BB gave them cards.
  • They played cards.
  • They played hide and seek.
  • They napped.
  • They studied for the memory comps and rehashed the season.
  • They talked about what the jury might think of them.
  • They snacked.
  • Today should be predictable. Victoria will either lose the comp against Derrick on her own or throw it to him so he goes against Cody in the last part.
  • Derrick has told told her that he understands her situation and cares about her. He has told her he'd take her to the final two.
  • I think he understands his own situation and cares about himself in the game ... and winning it all.
  • As it should be.

A boy and his rolling pin

Yep, I'm still here!

Survivor: San Juan Del Sur - Blog Pool OPENS and Jeff's cast assessment

The latest incarnation of Survivor (San Juan Del Sur: Blood vs. Water) starts Wednesday night, September 24, at 8pm ET/PT. That, of course is the lead-in for the season finale of Big Brother 16.

Lifeguard Laurie has graciously offered to run the blog pool for the show once again. (Need I say she rocks?)

I want in! What do I do?
If you want in to the blog pool, you need to sign up in the comments of this post and this post only! Please don't try signing up on any other posts -- we might miss your comment.

Is there money involved in this?
Of course not! You needn't pay anything to get into the pool. You don't need to buy a seasonal beach pass or anything! Mind you, you don't win any money either. What you do win is bragging rights until the next season and the smugness that goes with it.

How does it work?
Lifeguard Laurie makes random picks betwixt the castaways and the blog folks. You cheer on that castaway all season until they either win or get kicked off the island. (Well, off the Nicaragua coast, that is.)

When is the cut-off for entering?
All pool requests must be in comments to this here post and submitted by Tuesday, September 23, 5pm PT (which is 8pm ET). Be there or be square.

Without any further ado, here's Jeff Probst's cast assessment video for the season:

See you in the pool!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Thursday - September 18

Cody celebrates his HoH Part 1 win

Not too much to report today (unless you missed my endurance comp post from last night). But, here ya go:
  • Yeah, Cody won the comp. He would have liked to see how long he could actually have lasted up there but no one (Derrick, Victoria) would play along.
  • Derrick smoothed over the Hitmen announcement with Victoria.
  • Victoria (unofficially) has offered Derrick part of her winnings if she makes it to the final two and not him.
  • Shh. That's a secret and it's not allowed.
  • According to the Derrick/Victoria plan, she was supposed to win this part of the three part comp as he's stronger on the mental challenges.
  • Instead, surprise of all surprises, she went out first.
  • Who woulda thunk that would happen?
  • Okay, yeah. All of us.
  • Derrick was ticked a while at Victoria because she hinted that he threw the comp.
  • I personally think he probably did. He knew he couldn't win it against Cody and basically just wanted to stay up there a "respectable" time.
  • The feeds blocked as he went down and even Victoria missed his fall/jump as her head was down.
  • He claims he slipped.
  • We'll see about that.
  • Now Derrick and Victoria will have to go against each other in the second part of the comp.
  • Derrick tells her he can't tell her what to do, BUT he needs to win because she wouldn't do well in the third part against Cody.
  • Then he tells her she has to do what she wants.
  • But he needs to win.
  • Heh. The puppetmaster strikes again.
  • Who wants to bet right now that the final part of the comp is between Cody and Derrick?
  • What? No one?
  • Good. There's no wagering on this blog!
  • Lots of talk about the alliances of the summer.
  • Cody and Derrick keep telling Victoria that she's the Hitmen's little sister and they kept her safe all summer albeit not telling her outright about them.
  • Both Victoria and Cody think they will be in the final two with Derrick.
  • Only one of them can be.
  • Either of them would pick him.
  • It's hard to tell which one he'd pick as he has such a convincing scenario presented to each of them and he hasn't confided in us.
  • Of course, with Cody, his story is Hitmen, Day 2, etc.
  • With Victoria, it's special relationship, little sister, will remain good friends forever.
  • Today they should have the reminisce breakfast for taping.
  • I'm not sure when Part Two of the HoH comp will be. It might be live on Friday's show. I just don't know.
  • We all know Part Three will be on finale night.
  • Lots of time between now and then.

Big Brother 16: Final HoH Comp Part One Endurance Updates - September 17

The feeds came up for a bit. Endurance comp in motion.

They're on small platforms hanging onto hang glider doohickeys overlooking fields and farms. Nice set-up. The rain comes and goes. Sometimes heavy.

They're also raising and lowering the gliders. There is lightning during the rain, too.

Victoria is starting to say her hands hurt.

8:37pm their time -- Victoria's out. Derrick asks Cody if he wants him to hang on a bit, then jump.

Derrick keeps offering to throw it to Cody. Cody doesn't want to do it. He wants to see it through.

8:54pm their time, Derrick is out. Cody wins Part One of the final HoH.

Big Brother 16: Live Eviction Show to final three blog party - September 17

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

We're getting down to the wire now! Tonight's live eviction show is actually live unlike last night's pseudo-live show. As it airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest!

But first ... you know where the party is. I'll see you in the comments!

They show Derrick letting Frankie know he's going. BB doesn't like that. Frankie tells them he will singlehandedly pick to winner of this game as he's so influential with the jury. @@

This was happening during our feeds block out. BB doesn't like them to tell the target.

Aw, they taped Derrick's wife and Tenley giving him a holla. How sweet!

Heh. Derrick convinced Caleb to roughly volunteer to go on the block. Dang, he's good.

Nominations ceremony -- Victoria and Caleb. He blames the Vic nom on them not getting along. Caleb, crush the veto.

A Caleb family segment.

Power of Veto comp time! It's based on the new series Stalker. (You'd think Caleb would have this one in the bag ... Amber!) They have to complete puzzles by matching hamsters to the clues given.

Derrick does NOT want to win this one. It serves him no benefit.

CODY wins the PoV!

Caleb is sure the final three deal is sealed -- himself, Cody and Derrick.

I've said it often this season -- too bad, so sad. He doesn't see the writing on the wall.

Cody can't change the noms as he and Derrick can't go on the block. But Victoria and Caleb can plead for their lives in the game with him. Victoria -- congrats to final four, love game, love them, congrats Cody, do what's best for your game. Caleb -- God glory and praise, troops, church, family, loyalty much more than a word, you're safe because of me. Victoria hasn't won anything. Loyalty, or send my out with the sharpness of your judy.

Cody tells of the Hitmen and gets Derrick's name in the final two decision. Oy! He evicts Caleb.

The final HoH comp part one won't air until the Friday episode.

BULLETIN: The feeds were blocked at about 10:20pm ET for what is probably the start of part one of the final HoH comp. When they come back on -- if the comp is in progress, I'll post updates and screen caps in a separate post. If it's completed, I'll post the results.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Nominations, PoV Winner Bulletin - September 16/17

The HoH gets no blood on his hands

Derrick pretty much has it made in the shade. Here's a quick rundown --
  • As expected, he nominated Victoria and Caleb for eviction.
  • Cody won the Power of Veto again.
  • The Hitmen's next target was Caleb unless something changed drastically during the two feedless days.
  • Cody can't save anyone with the veto as he and Derrick cannot go on the block.
  • Cody is the sole vote.
  • Caleb is sure that Cody will vote out Victoria.
  • Victoria and Derrick are still acting on the outs.
  • Cody should vote out Caleb, the largest threat (other than Derrick) for the win.
  • Derrick once again won't have the "blood on his hands."
  • The final three should be Victoria, Cody and Derrick.

Caleb will get bloody if he keeps picking his arms

Big Brother 16: Not So Live Eviction Show Blog Party - September 16

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

Bring your popcorn, get that grill going! Are you ready to party bloggy-style?

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest! As always (and perhaps especially tonight), the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there!

Rewind recap and more recap. Frankie is shocked. Too bad, so sad. Caleb has a big mouth. He pretty much told Frankie that the others consider him (Frankie) a threat.

Because they know what the veto comp will be, they're studying. Relentlessly studying.

Ack. The Team America offer rumored is TRUE. TA is over, playing for yourself. As an individual, if you win, you take home an extra 50 grand. Note that there's nothing about BOTH of them making it to the final two. It's just if either Frankie or Derrick win the show, it will be $550,000, not $500,000.

Freak Show comp is on again. Cody is up first.

Cody's time: 2:21
Caleb can beat it, nor Victoria. Frankie out. Derrick was almost done when time ran out.

Cody wins Power of Veto!

Veto meeting: Victoria gives her usual speech. Frankie thinks Derrick should be on the block instead of him. Cody does NOT use the veto.

Time to vote! Speech time - Victoria, the usual. Frankie, greetings to Mommy and Ariana, hope to make you proud, on and on, shine bright as a Frankie, kept all safe, final four agreement. Go Grande or Go Home and tonight I might be doing both. (That was cute.)

The vote to evict:
Cody -- Frankie
Derrick -- Frankie

Ding dong, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The wicked witch! Frankie is gone!

He went out with the hamsters well. But then he pulled a Richard Simmons act going out to Julie, throwing glitter and all.

HoH comp time -- It's a step forward/step back questions about events before or after. Caleb can't play as HoH. Cody and Derrick go to a tiebreaker. Derrick wins HoH!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Leak BULLETIN - September 16

No Frankie!

Welp, we had a teaser of about ten minutes on the live feeds. Intentional leak? I dunno. But it was revealing indeed.
  • Frankie is not in the house.
  • Derrick is HoH.
  • Not only is he in the HoH room, but a thingee next to the "dream" one says "No.1 Dad."
  • They're wearing veto shirts and ready for the veto comp.
  • Victoria is worried, Derrick is consoling her.
  • Did I say it loud enough?
FRANKIE IS GONE!

Also ... CBS.com has the voting for fan favorite up at this link.

No. 1 Dad by HoH basket!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds or lack thereof - September 15-16

The live feeds have been off since they received tie-dye shirt kits yesterday morning and recorded that for last night's BBAD show.

Hopefully Frankie is out the door now with last night being the eviction. Tonight's show was taped last night.

About the only thing of note which I didn't mention on yesterday morning's live feeds report is Derrick's talk with us (feedsters) in the wee hours. He definitely wants a final three with himself, Cody and Victoria. He understands that we might not think Victoria is "worthy" of being in the finals, but claims she's a good person and thinks she keeps a lot of herself private. He also thinks a lot of Cody. From the talk, it does sound like he wouldn't mind at all being in the final two with Victoria, but will try to honor BB. Hmm.

The live feeds should return after tonight's show. Remember (Becky!), the show airs at 8pm ET/PT!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Sunday into Monday - September 15

I'm all that, daggummit!

Another day and evening of the doldrums in that Big Brother House of Waiting For the Next Big Thing:
  • The most excitement, other than them tossing fake limes and lemons into a bowl, was Victoria holding the (plastic?) knife to Derrick's throat in the photo booth.
  • BB Voice yelled at her to "Stop that!"
  • She obviously doesn't know the history of Justin Sebik and Kristy.
  • Derrick also had a huge long talk with Victoria later in the evening about not talking game with anyone until after Wednesday. She's sitting pretty with Frankie as the target now. But her loose lips fueled by alcohol just might sink ships.
  • Of course, Derrick doesn't drink at all.
  • He observes those who do, though.
  • Yes, he's protecting her game.
  • But he's protecting his as well.
  • Caleb still thinks that Frankie going home is the right move and he was justified putting him on the block because Frankie has betrayed his trust.
  • Cody wants Frankie to go.
  • Cody will not be using the PoV to save anyone.
  • And on it goes ...

Big Brother 16: Rewind HoH and Nominations Show Blog Party - September 14

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

We got spoiled by having a number of Sunday shows start on time here on the East Coast. Well, FORGET THAT! Football is still on as I get this written up to schedule for posting.

As the show airs here (when it airs), I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party will be in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

Once it starts here, I'll turn off the word verification and join the party! The show will start at about 8:50pm ET (nearly an hour late).

It's back to the rewind playing of the seed-saw HoH comp. Derrick again can't play. CALEB wins HoH this time, not Frankie (although Frankie came in second).

Cody is a dinosaur again.

Jeff and Jordan have to get engaged again.

Okay, I made the last one up.

Lots of hemming and hawing from Caleb about putting Frankie up as per the final three deal and plans made with Derrick and Cody.

On the TV screen, they're told there will be a luxury comp. They all have to go to the HoH bedroom where there's a big breakfast waiting as well as a big TV. The dinosaur costume is gone again. They watch the jurors burst into the house and create havoc throwing stuff around.

Hey! The in house hamsters aren't playing in the comp ... it's the jurors! They knock out the others one by one by finding pucks and putting them in the slot for the one they want gone. The winner gets 5 grand, as does one in house hamster on their team. The in house picks teams by t-shirts. No one picked Christine.

Jocasta got the first one and knocked Christine out first. Nicole knowcks out Zach. Then she knocked out Donny! Nicole got another one and knocked out Jocasta! Hayden got the last one and had to knock out Nicole! So, Hayden and Victoria each win $5,000.

The house is destroyed.

Nominations today. Caleb is in a quandary. He's being pressured by Frankie not to put him up and the other two to put Frankie up. What to do?

He nominates Victoria, then Frankie. He says he made a pact with the boys for the final four. He gives an odd speech about flamingos and pawns to Frankie.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - September 14, 2014

Good Sunday morning to y'all! Since it is Sunday, this is my weekly off television topic reflection of the past week in both words and photos I've taken along the way. If you're looking for Big Brother live feeds content, you can find my latest (and the whole shebang!) right here at this link.

I know I'm late with this this morning, but I actually slept in. I'm on a staycation, having spent any vacation monies on my new refrigerator. It's the first time I've ever had a brand spanking new refrigerator in my lifetime of apartment renting. So, this thing better entertain me this week! I do plan a few small day things, maybe even the Feast of San Genaro in the city, but buying a refrigerator used up most of my discretionary cash.

September 12 marked what I call Vincent's birthday -- the day I adopted him. We met at New York City Animal Care & Control on September 12, 2009. So, this is his fifth birthday even though they thought he was around five when I adopted him. He's still my Spanish Harlem munoquito. Yes, the shelter is in Spanish Harlem ... so I can sing all kinds of songs at him. "There is a cat in Spanish Harlem ..."

A few refrigerator notes:
  • They do have an equivalent of a new car smell!
  • While I'll miss the side-by-side freezer space, this 18.2 is definitely big enough for me.
  • I had to buy it as the old one started being sporadic. It always looked beat-up and nasty as I bought it for $200 on September 11, 2001. Yes, THAT day. I was in my car heading to my then used refrigerator connection when I heard the news on the car radio. I had never had to buy my own refrigerator for an apartment before and cash was short as I had just spent all my on hand money (or most of it) on security deposit and rent while not having my previous security deposit in my hands yet.
  • I can't really complain. That was a lot of years for a cheap used refrigerator.
  • Alas, the used refrigerator connection has since passed away and I was desperately searching. I needed not only the refrigerator delivered, but someone to haul away the old one.
  • I checked out Craigslist, but no individual sellers want to deliver! Gah.
  • So, I checked out the Sears online -- there's an outlet location roughly a half-mile down the street from me.
  • For under $500 I got your basic refrigerator with both delivery and haul away of the old. Brand new, although they say it has a dent on it.
  • I can't find the dent.
  • It has a humidity controlled crisper drawer and door bins large enough to hold gallon bottles. Despite some internet reviews, it's very quiet and the freezer door (top mounted freezer) does NOT open when closing the refrigerator doors. Nor are the shelves flimsy. What are they putting on them? Cases of beer?
  • I was going by price and the delivery/haul away factors when I panicked about the old one dying and ordered it. Afterwards, I read reviews. Overwhelmingly, people seemed to like it. However, as always on the internet, there were some haters.
  • So far I really like it. Plus, it has a warranty anyway. I didn't buy their extended warranty. I have a couple of weeks to decide on that. I'm not rough on things -- I still have a working 8-track tape player and a microwave I bought in the late 80s. As long as it's built well, it should last me.
  • From the refrigerator manual in the troubleshooting pages
Problem: My refrigerator doesn't seem to stay as cold as it should.
Cause: Opening and closing the doors too often.
Solution: Stop opening and closing the doors so often.

Heh.

Onto the photos of the week. I didn't really take a ton of photos as I only worked four days and only really walked/commuted on three days. On Thursday I had an all day meeting in Parsippany (NJ). Someone else drove. I had my camera, but you don't want to see photos of us stuck in traffic heading into NYC in the morning and traffic stuck coming out of NYC in the late afternoon. Oy!

Sunrise over Plainfield

I love seeing the sunrise as I head to the train station heading to work! This was one morning looking at it from Roosevelt Avenue in Plainfield.

Due to the night's darkness lasting longer, I got some decent shots of the Harvest Moon, the last "supermoon" of the year, as I headed to work earlier in the week. To make the images full screen, click on the diagonal arrow on the bottom right of the slideshow.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Saturday into Sunday - September 14

A chainsaw massacre could liven things up!

Oh my gosh. The live feeds couldn't get much more boring than they presently are. Now, I thought they were boring a few weeks ago. That was nuthin'! Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of I Gotta Get Outta This Place:
  • Frankie is still the target.
  • Both Cody and Derrick will be voting him out.
  • They know not to blow the opportunity this time.
  • Frankie doesn't actually KNOW he's going ... but deep down inside he knows he's going. It's just that they haven't told him yet.
  • That was the biggest game discussion yesterday and last night -- when and if to tell him.
  • They decided they don't want to totally blindside him. They want to give him warning.
  • So, now it's a matter of when to tell him. After the PoV meeting? Before the eviction? The morning of the eviction?
  • Unlike some of the others we've seen in the house this season, Frankie may be a lot of things, but he's not dumb. He knows his swan song in the game is coming up.
  • He's a slight bit more subdued.
  • That's a good thing.
  • In other news, despite his culinary skills as the self-appointed chef for most of the summer (probably so they would eat foods HE likes), Frankie doesn't know how to make hamburgers.
  • @@
  • They got the grill back. Derrick and the others suggested hamburgers. Frankie wanted to make them like meatballs.
  • It didn't matter anyway. They ended up locked inside due to music being heard outside from some party in the area.
  • I believe in the last 24 hours, each hamster probably spent 2.3 hours talking about how bored they are.
  • Derrick is still sitting pretty -- both Cody and Victoria would definitely choose him for the final two if they were in that position. Caleb just might consider taking Cody, but Derrick keeps working on him.
  • Caleb seems to be next on the Hit List.
  • But Victoria would always work, too.
  • Anybody but Derrick, in my opinion.
  • If anyone deserves to win this season, it's Derrick. He's been masterminding practically every eviction, adapting the few times things didn't go his way, playing a great social game taking interest in the lives of each hamster, winning a few comps yet never on the block.
  • True, he's been surrounded by fools, but ...!
  • That's all I have for you ...

Jus' washin' the dishes

Jogging yard laps

Jus' being Caleb-ish

Always alert
