'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Into Saturday 8/25

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

Graphic artist Zoetawny had to use her "mad skillz" to create a second HOH graphic for Jessica! I think, in watching the feeds, Jessica is the one person least changed whan she's Head of House. With others, they seem to gloat (Dustin, Dick) or, in Daniele's case, freak out a bit. Jessica handles it well. I just wish her voice was a bit different. So, what's been happening inside that Big Brother House of Whispers and Wimps? Here's the skinny:
  • Zach had a long talk to Jessica about his nomination. He's worried that he might be evicted, but approached the conversation at the angle that he isn't the target. He told Jessica he's not mad at her and understands that it was the most logical move for her to make.
  • Zach really wants to win POV (remember, he hasn't won anything yet) and remove himself from the block. If he does, he wants Jessica to put Dick on the block and backdoor him.
  • Zach also thinks that Dick and Daniele will play hard for POV if they're chosen because they want the nominations to remain the same.
  • Jessica took all Zach was saying in and obviously took it under consideration. After all, she was nodding her head and saying "uh-huh" and "yeah." I'm sure Zach took that to mean she agrees with him.
  • Jessica committed to nothing with him.
  • Zach told Jessica that, no matter what happens, he'd vote as she wants him to.
  • Eric is still upset about Jen's comment warning Jessica about his girlfriend. Perhaps that was the impetus for his nasty remark as she left. He's still stewing about it.
  • Jameka worked her way right into the happy group o' houseguests while Amber was a bit somber and Zach was um, Zach-ish. (He always reminds me of a comic book geek who's smart but not ever "in with the in crowd." Not a bad thing, but it makes it hard for others to understand where he's coming from at times.)
  • Evel Dick wants Zach to go. It's only fitting that Zach wants Dick to go, right?
  • Amber cried.
  • Eric wonders if he'll set a record if he doesn't get chosen to play for the veto again.
  • As the HG feasted, Amber was subdued.
  • Beer pong was played. I miss zuma-zuma.
  • Jameka went on a crying streak -- alone. Well, her and God, that is. She cried, she prayed, she cried while praying.
  • Daniele told Dick everyone hates him. He didn't think so, so they went through the list. It's everyone. He just laughed.
  • Jameka tried to shake Jessica's faith in Eric. Jameka just doesn't trust him and thinks Jessica shouldn't trust him either.
  • That didn't last long as Eric and Jessica are still up talking in the HOH room as I post this. She has the woobie and they're still BFF. (Best friends forever)

Good Morning and Happy Weekend!
I seems to me that jessica is being tight-lipped about what her intentions are with the noms and what she might do if POV is won and used. I'm going to take that as a good sign, a sign she has/is formulating a plan.
Other than being smitten (does anyone use that word anymore?) with Eric, I like the way Jessica has been playing the game. I hope she isn't thinking of a Jessica/Eric final two, though. I'm not sure the votes would go her way, although it seems like Eric has a lot of people thinking HMMMM...what's up with him?

Jackie S. said...

I dunno. I think if it came down to Jessica and Eric in the final two, she'd win the jury vote. He's ticked off more people and is known as "sneaky" in the house. While she's put up folks for nomination, she hasn't been mean-spirited at all -- that will earn her favor. As much as she isn't my favorite player in the history of the show, I guess I wouldn't mind if she won this season. We're talking slim pickings and she's the one who hasn't gone overboard with bad behavior.

I find it hard to believe tht Jess will backdoor Dick. If & thats a BIG IF Zach wins POV, she'll put Jamm up in his place as a pawn. Then we can finally get rid of WAAAmber.

RiseandShine said...

Yes, slim pickings it is. I don't think I've ever gone so long without really rooting for someone.
If everyone was on the jury except Jessica and Eric, I can't imagine anyone having anything bad to say about Jessica but wondered if Eric would stick in their minds as having been a more aggressice player. He hasn't won a darn thing though, and has been "out" early a lot, so it's probably just his big mouth that they'll remember as aggressive.

I'd love to see the final 4 alliance composed weeks ago stick to the end. Amber should go this week, then Jameka or Zach, then Zach or Jameka. If the final 4 alliance stays intact, a worthy player, who actually played the game, will win the money and that's all I care about.

GO FINAL 4 ALLIANCE!

Happy Weekend everyone!

I've been super-busy but still reading here-- hope you're all well!

And Amber cried. Kleenex tissue should have sponsored this season, they could have had awesome product placement in the house!

I am hoping Zach wins the POV. I would love to see ED go up in his place and backdoor him right out of the house and in sequester with Jen and Dustin!
But, I think Jess would put Jam up instead of ED. I think Jess is swayed too much by the others.
OF those houseguests left, I guess I would like to see Zach win it all. Wishfull thinking.

I would have to say Jessica is the best the game has to offer anymore. I certainly wish she wasn't so influenced by Eric. If she could get away from him for a day or two and have a thought that was her own, she just might see him for the "snake" he is. I almost can't bear it when he comes on the screen anymore!

Anonymous said...

jessica should walk away with the money. she played hard and SMART without abusing anyone. it is easy for bullies like d&d to have some sort of control...but jess has controlled things in leadership fashion....and in a house like THAT....it is not an easy thing to do. that takes strategy, brains, AND character.

Anonymous said...

Weasel is as Weasel does (Eric) he hasnt played this game, we have....if he is in the final two, and holy moly forbid he wins, there will be a great deal of screaming. He has unfair advantage because we made the choices for him.
Yes, I would think Jessica hasplayed the best game.

Anonymous said...

jessica will hopefully put ed up if zack wins pov... i dont think she will ever put jam up ,remember the statement she made in diary that jam is really the only person shes trusts in the game and i think she respects her as a player, i would like to see jess and jam in the final 2 myself.

Anonymous said...

Jessica is smart enough to know that if she goes to the final 2 with Jameka there's no guarantee that she will win. She's playing it safe this week with the Amber/Zach nomination and she'll let another HOH get Jameka out for her. That's how she plays, don't pi$$ anyone off when she's HOH and get someone else to do her dirty work. When they got Dustin out she actually said something along the lines of "You did all my dirty work and I didn't do anything" to Eric. The girl may look dumb, but she is one smart cookie!

Adrienne said...

I finally figured out who Zach reminds me of........Patrick Wharburton. Remember? Puddy from Seinfeld? And now he has that show with David Spade where he is just this big doof guy.

Anonymous said...

Adrienne - I love Patrick Wharburton!! He does voice overs for a whole mess of animated movies and TV shows (most of which we have!!) Check out his credentials !

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Jessica has had a long term boyfriend...that voice is a real turn off. Maybe Eric is the first guy to really stick with her...if so she will be disappointed when his part in this game is revealed. I like Jessica tho her voice grates so much. She is smarter than she seems and has a kind heart. I just hope she can make up her own mind about who to evict. She needs to be bold and backdoor Dick so he can't "save" Dani the next time that brat is on the block...Dani can't leave too soom for me...I even prefer Amber who though wacko at least was the only one to get up and say goodbye to Jen. Usually I hate the backdoor, but I'm pulling for one this week...Dick.

Anonymous said...

Dick is a small man in many ways...small in thought, action and stature...perhaps that's why he picks on people smaller than himself...he's got the short guy's swagger, i.e. the prance when looking for his foul cigs. The Napoleon Complex in action. So wish there had been a man in the house to stand up to Dour Dick.

Anonymous said...

I don't see Jess putting up Jameka because i think she really trusts her and if someone else gets rid of Jam them she can count on her vote. I hope she would put up Dani if Zach wins POV and they vote her out because if she is smart she should know that they need to break up the Donato alliance and put the LNC back in charge. At this point all of them need to consider leaving ED in the game because what be he his chances of beating anybody left in the house? Anybody except Amber could probably beat him in the F2.

Ok, at one point someone suggested that maybe there was no ping pong ball int he veto bag for Eric. How do they make up for a missing one with no one noticing? It can't be a double name or HG choice. What if 2 of the same came out? But I also don't think it's coincidence that Eric has not been chosen for ANY veto comps. ANYONE have any theories or knowledge on this?

Kelly in MI

Anonymous said...

The best thing that could happen would be for Jameka to win POV and take Amber off the block. That way Jess could nominate Dick or Daniele.

Anonymous said...

Kelly - I did some research earlier this week on the whole veto ball thing. Dick's name has never been pulled from the bag either. He's only played when either HOH, nominated or when Dani selected him as her HG choice (and that was only once). Eric has never been HOH nor has he been nominated in a ceremony so he wouldn't have a chance to play unless someone picked him as their HG choice.

So...Eric's ball never being picked is no more a coincidence to me than Dick's ball never being picked.

Anonymous said...

Kelly, i am not big on conspiracy theories but it does seem strange that eric has never been picke for POV comp. I guess they could just not put a ball in with his name on it. The HG never look in the bag to see how many balls are actually in the bag.

I hope that Jameka wins the POV and uses it to remove Amber or Amber wins it (fat chance) and then Jess would have to put up one of the Donatos. I am not an Amber fan by no means but i would rather see ED or Dani leave first.

Hi Jackie, Thanks for the updates, I have missed a few, but will read back. Here are a few things that came to me as I read the latest comments:

* Jessica slept through many of the early days in the house. At least that is what posters said at the time. Good planning, it kept her out of the fray while alliances were being formed.

* Not playing HOH may have helped Jameka, since many of the hgs mention keeping her as long as she can't play for it and dumping her when she can. I don't know what week she would have gone earlier, but it might have helped instead of being a handicap.

* It still surprises me that Eric is so upset about Jen's comment about the outside gf. Could it be that he is assumes the Jen message also included something about her thinking he is working with BB? I don't mean the rumor, but Eric's fear that she knew more than she knew and had decided to tell? That would explain his over-explaining what he had already told Jessica any way. It also might show he is getting paranoid about his place in the house. He makes loud comments about wanting to play for Veto, which just seems like Brer Rabbit to me.

* Jessica and Daniele are the two strongest women in the house. Both have odd voices. But, both also have male protectors. Did that help them and will the men step aside for them or are the men just using them?

* Back when Dustin's group was still active, Dick made the comment that he couldn't wait until they started to 'canabalize' themselves. So he understands that is the next step after F4.

* I remember early on in the game when D & D were just starting to talk on camera, they mentioned creating a huge fight, so hgs wouldn't see them as a team. Both, recently have gone to people to tell them they were playing alone. I guess that shows they want to stay together and are trying to diffuse the team element. They might see it as time to change the good cop/bad cop scenario they have perfected.

* I keep thinking a comp will include spin the bottle in some way.
Thanks Jackie, Sue

The females in the house have dominated the game from the beginning. Dick and Dustin were the only males to win anything if I am remembering correctly. I hope a female wins.

RiseandShine said...

The balls in the bag..
In the beginning, there are a lot of houseguests sitting on the side of the POV comps, so there must be a lot of balls left in the bag.
However, when 3 people choose for POV (HOH + 2 noms) and there are only 4 other houseguests to choose from, surely someone would notice that there should be an extra ball in the bag.
Maybe BB could have "forgot" to put Eric's ball in the bag for a while, but not for the entire season. I'm not sure they'd really have a great reason to leave him out of it, other than helping him from being a target.
I think the probability math of random picking is the best explanation.

Anonymous said...

If BB is keeping Eric from playing for Veto, the ball issue would be easy to over come. Just have one name on two balls. No one ever opens the bag to check what names are printed. If they can put a player in the house who doesn't have a vote, then they can cover his status any way they want. Sue

I don't understand why wouldn't staying out of the line of fire be a strategy? Get along with everybody, don't show your strength until you need too. IMO I think this is the best strategy because they always go after the ones that show their strength. If you can just float around through the entire game and come out on top IMO I think that is great. As far as some of them winning challenge it still remains to be seem if they are as good as they are projected because there are time when others are trying not win. So it makes other stand out like they are good competitor. It would take all of them to play fairly to really know if Dani, Dick, Eric, or Jessica is as great as some people may think.

I don't care who wins none of them have been that great to me.

riseandshine: I LOVE the word "smitten"!!

It does appear that the HG's are beginning to wonder about Eric...

And I also agree on the balls in the bag theory being probability. This season is not the best, but I don't think BB would risk having a name in there twice.

I wonder why the HG's have never looked??

Maybe they are told to not open the bag other than to grab a ball??

Anonymous said...

I have said that floating is a good strategy especially when there are HG targeting each other. Let them pick each other off and come in at the right time to pick up the pieces.

PlaidChick said...

I have thought for some time only certain people's ping png balls were in the bag. I think the HG's have been told, there will only be 3 balls in the bag, and you draw from there. Look at the bag, it was never full of 10 HG's in past weeks.

The is the worst season yet to see BB manipulating the show.

If Jameka plays PoV she would be absolutely STUPID to take Amber off. She knows after last week she is a target, and she is not about to remove her good friend Amber-- hell Amber wouldn't remove her!

The other thing that makes me believe 100% BB is running the show more than ever is they have no idea what they're going to do if Eric makes it to the final 2. They have yet to figure out how and when to reveal Eric is AP-- that came right from the horse's mouth in the EW interview. They want him to have a shot at winning the game, but it obvious they have no idea how to handle AP. No way could they ever have an AP next year-- everyone will sit there and try to figure out who it is, and start picking them off one by one.

Let the nominations stand this week.

Since I couldn't sleep last night I was watching YouTube videos and reading Joker's. A few bits of info i came across....

I find it interesting that Dick is always demeaning Amb for being a cocktail waitress yet Dani works at Hooters. Doesn't seem to be that much of a difference--skimpy outfits and flirting with the customers.

Jess talking to Jam about being very religious outside the house--she just doesn't talk about because she doesn't want it to effect her in the game(smart girl). She also said she came into the house being careful to not become the next Erika and have America think she was a slut. She never wanted to develop feelings for anyone in the game, but that has changed.

Eric told her he feels the same--that when she sees the show after it's done he hopes she knows he had to not be totally honest for the game but she will be happy(????). He says they would have never gotten together outside the house because she wouldn't have talked to him--she agrees. Eric spent alot of time explaining his relationship with GF/EX. He said it was important to him that Jess understand it. She was glad he did.

Does anybody else think it a bit inappropriate to have a comp. that requires the HG be naked??

My guess would be Allison
Grodner will be out of a job next year if CBS really reads the message boards!

Deanna said...

I know everyone is liking Jessica for some strange reason but the girl has left a bad taste in my mouth since week 1. Her comments about Carol while her, Dick & Dustin were in the HOH waiting to surprise the other HG's were bad. Carol left the show with dignity and didn't want to delve into the "Jessica/Carol" past, but Jessica was more than happy to in the going away message and to the HG's. But, I think once her nemesis was out, she purposely laid low and then has clung to Eric as her protector and "mean guy", so that she wouldn't have to dirty her hands or reputation in the house. I still see her as that petty "mean girl" who probably was the school snob growing up. To have such a big hand in Dustins departure, but to have Amber & Jameka convinced it is all Erics doing is a good game move and I do give her credit for what she has done, I just think she is a wolf in sheeps clothing, while Dick is just out there with his true self and everyone knows he is a wolf. I won't be surprised if the claws come out soon.

As for the POV balls, I have no proof that Eric's ball isn't in there, but by the way that Eric obsessively talks of it, I'm thinking it is NEVER in the bag. Eric tends to pick & obsess over the things that will give his AP status away. He probably knows or figures his ball isn't in there and therefore does his usual obsessive chatter about it. I just think the producers leave his ball out of it because the outcome of the POV might conflict with America's choice for him. This is of course just speculation... :)

For awhile now I've been trying to figure out who Eric reminds me of. Then the other night when he was hiding behind the bathroom door to scare Jessica and was making faces towards Dick, it hit me... He looks like he could be the younger brother of Adam Sandler. The facial expressions are what did it!

Deanna said...

Nana in the nw... Dustin also put Dick down for being a bar manager when he himself is a shoe salesman. Neither is bettor or worse than the other. I think each HG likes to think they are better than the other and therefore likes to attack what they know or can... IMO, of course... :)

Anonymous said...

If Dani just turned 21 how can she be employed at Hooters...wasn't she a minor entering the house? I read somewhere that Dick had to give parental consent for her to be in BB.

Anonymous said...

I don't agree that Dick can't win because he is such a nasty jerk. He has played his game, albeit a nasty one. In past years, both on BB and Survivor, nasty people have won because the jury bases their decisions on who was actually "playing" the game. Floaters and do-nothings are generally not rewarded even if nice people.

Anonymous said...

I'm no Amber fan, but the thing that really bothered me about Dani, which points to the fact that she is just not a nice person at all, was where I read that Amber asked Dani to take pics of her showing off her necklace or something because it was meant to be a sign for her daughter and as soon as Amber left, Dani went and deleted the pictures she took of her. Now, we all agree that Amber is an ass pain, but for Dani to do that proves she has no heart whatsoever.

Anonymous said...

I think floater men are rewarded but floater women are not.

Maria said...

Do you think BB would have another AP in future seasons of BB since the cat will be out of the bag once the show is over?

Anonymous said...

LMAO at Dani being a waitress at Hooters. She's such a poser and hypocrite just like her father.

Anonymous said...

I do think 'floating' is a strategy and one often difficult to maintain. But, it has many drawbacks and one of those is the stigma of not taking chances in the game. Floaters often lie low to avoid the conflict and while they manage to stay in the game, they are not on the front lines. Deanna, I agree completely with your comment about how Eric gives himself away by speaking of the one thing he should not speak. And he always (I mean without fail) hesitates and is quite for a nanosecond and watches the listener's reaction and then goes back to his normal expression) I think a person could learn a lot about body language from watching BB. God knows I hope I can put some of the time spent with BB to good use in my real life. And Jessica is good at what she does, but I think she must have a man at her feet and since Eric seemed to be the only contender..he got the job. Deanna you and I see eye to eye on many of the hgs, except for that tiny exception of Dick. And, I still prefer him to Daniele. I am thinking the best of the season has already happened....maybe it will be the fans who cry this year. Thanks to all, Sue

Deanna said...

Anon 2:10... Hooters serves food, sex appeal and alcohol, but they also have a childrens menu. Like most restuarants, Daniele probably has an older waitress serve the alcohol to her customers.

dla...I'm glad to hear you like the word too :)

deanna...I also had an immediate bad reaction to Jessica from everything she said about Carol, and those nasty, mean-girl faces she made at her/about her too. It has stuck with me. I don't think any girl can trust her.

Sue....but, if there were two balls in the bag with the same name, wouldn't that mean both the HOH and one of the noms could pick the same person?

Plaidchick....but, if BB chose only 3 balls and put them into the bag, what would be the point in picking for POV?

We tell Eric who to try and get nominated after HOH, right?
And we tell him who to vote for for eviction after POV, right?
So, playing in POV wouldn't matter for either AP vote.

Deanna...you are right, Eric tends to get loud about things that have to do with AP, it's a sign, but I have no idea what it means :)

Would you think that if Eric is in the final two, America would get to vote anyway on who should win?

I think BB should have the houseguests vote for the winner DR style during the finale and tape it. Then they can reveal AP without affecting the vote. They can play the voting sequence after for the announcement of the winner.

It's a million degrees here today and a million percent humid, and I just don't feel liking cleaning or going outside so I'm obessing over BB instead. Send help.

As some of you have mentioned the way Eric is about being AP--I found it funny that a week or so ago when the HG were talking about who they would like to meet or have in the house that Eric's choice was DREW CAREY!?
Coincidence or wishful thinking(knowing that the trip was to play Power of 10)????? Just another little piece of the conspiracy puzzle!!! Eric also refers to himself as "not being able to compete in the comp."

Riseandshine 3:10--where are you that it is THAT HOT? Here in the NW it's cloudy(60) and very humid.

Now the question is will Eric be Dick's "Nancy boy" and do his bidding like the wuss he appears to be or will he be manly and try to take power away from D&D. My guess, based on the bathroom scene with Dick, is that he will be a major suck up and carry whatever water Dick instructs him to. So much for backdooring Dick or Dani this week. But there's still hope to get them out before the final ending which will probably have us all "pulling an Amber."

terry,I like the way you think!!!

I am thinking the picking of the balls for POV is just a fluke. And won't Eric have to be picked from now on(well, except for this time)? And,it makes no sense to exclude him, because we still would have time to tell him how to use the POV.And he can always choose to not do well in the comp,he seems to manage that anyway.

I know Jessica was pretty snippy and snide to Carol, and of the three,I thought her "enemy" connection was the lamest. But she has laid low ever since Carol left and really not ruffled too many feathers. I hated her voice at first, but then decided you can't really help(to some degree)how your voice is,a lot of that is predestined. And now, truly,Daniele's voice is the one that really, really drives me up the wall. She whines and puts on airs so much,it's maddening.I watched her on the feeds last night, berating and yelling at Zach and dick for sitting in "her" chair at the table! Most of them said they didn't know the chairs were "assigned" to certain people and she told them all to stay out of "her" chair. What a brat! And if I have to see her examining her split ends again,I am going to scream.I'd take Jess over Dani any day. I just don't get her fascination w/Eric though. I'd take Zach over Eric any day, too. Every time I see them in bed together,I shudder and think..."Jess,you can do so much better than ...that".

I think Eric should take off Zack, and then Jessica should put up ERIC... I think the Jury would think that Eric was the brains between the two of them, played a better game, and vote Eric the winner..

Anonymous said...

We wouldn't get to choose who would get put up as a replacement nominee. We would only get to vote whether or not Eric uses the veto. Jess would choose who to put up in the empty seat.

Deanna said...

Sharon... We already voted who we(America) wanted Eric to get nominated (Amber), then Sundays show is usually a stupid task, then the next vote is who we want Eric to evict on Tuesday night. The power of backdooring is in Jessica's hands & since Eric knows how America will have him vote, I doubt he will at this point use the veto on D&D or he will definitely be answering some questions from Jessica on why he didn't vote for D&D to be evicted.

Deanna said...

Anon 7:29... No we wouldn't get to vote on Eric using the veto. Sundays show is the nomination ceremony & food/luxury comp. We will vote on a task on Sunday night. Then on Monday, they will hold the Veto ceremony & on Tuesdays show we will see the veto comp & ceremony. If they had America vote on the Veto ceremony this Sunday, they would be giving away the answers to what they originally show on Tuesdays... But then again, maybe that will be a twist. IMO, I dont see that happening....

I don't know how it is for waitresses in CA, but in WI a minor can serve the alcohol, they just can't take the money for it at the register.

As for all of this talk about Eric and the POV balls... Can someone please explain to me how it's weird that Eric's ball was never pulled but it's NOT weird that Dick's was never pulled??? Dick only played when he was HOH, nominated or picked by Dani as HG choice. This is the third time I've pointed this out and nobody wants to acknowledge it. I think it's just coincidence that Eric was never picked.

Orkmommy--I was wondering who long before we heard from you!! You have been the voice of reason twice already about Eric's balls(LOL). I've told all of you to listen to orkmommy she is a plant here from CBS....she knows things...

Hey Orkmommy - I agree re Eric's balls. (lol) And, I believe you are right about serving alcohol in Wisconsin (I grew up near Green Bay). My thoughts on the hgs not noticing if there aren't enough balls in the sack is that they wouldn't think to look to see because they don't know what we know. that's my two cents for the day. Hot in MD - 99 - humid - feels like 107 - ugh -

Nana - I'm not just the expert on Eric's ball(s), but Dick's too! :-)

I just like saying Dick's balls! (tee hee)

BTW...I was out taking care of the ponies today. They got into bramble bushes and had those little sticker balls in their manes. It took an hour to get them out of both horses! When we were done we took the little one for a mile long pony ride. I wish I could have ridden too! Mommy wants a horsey!!!

It was beautiful here today, high 70's!!

Well, since everyone's giving their weather reports, it's perfect in Portland! . . . . . . .

Mid 70's, blue skys and fluffy white clouds.

If I had any sense, I'd be outside enjoying it instead of sitting here reading about whether or not Eric has any balls! :)
