Way to go, NY Giants!

I didn't plan on watching the game. I'm not all that into football. But the local hype kept nagging me. I didn't watch the entire game -- I saw the Giants score early on, then watched some Law and Order on USA. Then I flipped back intermittently only to see the Patriots hold a lead forever. Then, surprising myself, I watched the entire 4th quarter. Wow, what a nailbiter! The Giants scored within the last minute or so and ...

The NY Giants have won Super Bowl 42!

I predict the trains will be a bit rowdy in the morning.

Congratulations Giants fans!
My Pats looked like a bunch of Girl Scouts tonight! LOL
It was a very exciting game in the 4th quarter.
Being that Eli Manning and his brother, Payton, were born and raised in New Orleans there are alot of fans here.
With Eli's victory and being at the height of Mardi Gras Season there are will be lots of celebrating in the old town tonight!

Not a Giants or Pats fan, but I was rooting for the underdog. Go Giants!!!

I love the Super Bowl for the commercials, if my team isn't there. My favorite outright had to the be Budweiser Clydesdale, ala Rocky, commercial. They can pick a winner every year on the commercial standpoint.

I also laughed out loud on the Bridgestone commercials. Loved the take off of the Geico commercial and the squirrel in the road. The follow up for Bridgestone was brilliant as well. You could predict that the driver was going to floor it, but I love Richard. He helped me lose 30 pounds years ago with his old Deal a Meal, and Sweatin to the Oldies, program. I still have that old Deal a Meal wallet around here somewhere. :)

Great commercials, great game, and congrats Giants fans!

Congrats jackie!
Yes that was a nailbiter and I am thrilled the Giants won. My PA grandson (who loves everything new York) was over the moon.
Also my husband put his friend in a pool at his job and he won $1000. Not bad for an afternoon.
I think NY deserved the win, couldnt be happier for you all

Take that, Brady! A touchdown with 38 seconds to go! Kind of sorry the Patriots didn't get their unbeaten season, but the GIANTS earned this win.

I loved the Justin Timberlake commercial. Petty was great at halftime. Paula looked like she was lip-syncing, didn't she?

Oh yeah, Jordin Sparks did a nice job with The National Anthem. But doesn't anyone sing it the way it was written anymore?

Watched most of the commercials on line this morning... I have to say the Tide commercial was too funny, and so true... And of course, gotta love the Clydesdale/Rocky. Most were good, some were confusing because I couldn't figure out what they were really selling. Maybe that's just me.

For want of anything else this weekend I watched "Meet Joe Black" for the third time since it first came out. I had taped it a while back and never got around to watching.

If you've never seen it you must get it and watch. (Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and the girl I don't know her name but who is beautiful, I think.) It's so good... and I finished up my crying jag for this weekend with it.

I thought the baby trading at the computer commercials were pretty funny... especially the second one where he said he thought he'd get himself a clown, which I suppose would be equivalent to a merceedes to an infant. Did anyone see that one?

I didn't have a favorite but my husband said he wanted to see the Giants win just so the Patriots would not complete their 100% unbeaten streak. Not that he's evil like that, but it just gave a reason to root for one team over the other. It WAS a nail bite in the 4th quarter. And Miami still holds the undefeated record, so I bet they were celebrating a bit as well last night.

Def thought the American Idol sang a great Star Spangled Banner... not all who get up there do, it's such a difficult song to sing. I liked the Timberlake commercial too. Saw Petty and he was good -- but I still think Prince still blew halftime performances away last year. Now how did I miss Paula? I watched the entire halftime thing...

For those who missed Paula Abdul she was on the pre-game show with Ryan Seacrest. Randy Jackson was playing guitar.

I don't watch the Super Bowl but I did watch some of the last quarter. It was a very exciting quarter. I watch the game to watch the commercials. My top 5 commercials are.

1. Budweiser (Rocky theme)
2. Sobe Life Water (Thriller theme)
3. Bud Light (Cheese)
4. Bridgestone (squirrel)
5. Pepsi (Justin Timberlake)

THanks Arlene for the link. I didn't get the life water/reptile/Thirller thing at all, but I see it's your #2 top commercials. "splain me what I missed about that one if you get the chance;-D thanks!

Per "Pretty Woman" and Julia Roberts, "Don't ya love Prince" !!! In the bath tub scene.

Paula did her thing in the pre-show and I missed it also, but from what I hear was a dud!

I also watched all the commercials online today from the Time.com site. They panned the Budweiser/Hank ad, but I am a sucker for the clydedales, no matter what. Planter's cashews are catching flack, but I think I enjoyed that one the most. Kind of Ugly Bettyish so what is the big deal?

Delee -- I loved that one too... and of course I can see how someone would give flack but I totally thought of Ugly Betty too.

CNN had the Rocky/Clydesdales one being #1 and the Bridgestone with everyone screaming as #2. Interesting to see what floats different people's boats. There;s as many tastes out there as there are people seems like!

Sydney...based on what you said re commercials, I hope we "all just get along" with BB9. LOL.

Not a chance, huh? Oh well, Jackie will keep us in line so to each his own...

Back to my choice for the best commercial...Tide (the one with the interviewee with a stain on his shirt). So real, since I was in HR in my working years, and that kind of thing can really mess with your attention. Shouldn't...but it does.

so am i the only one that thought the "night at the roxbury" takeoff from pepsi max was the funniest commercial?...made me even laugh at loud!
i liked a lot of the ads but that one was by far my fav...

and i gotta mention how wonderful it was to wear my Giants blue out in "eagle" country today....probably the only time a jersey transplant can do so in philly...

Giants rock!
