Well, I caught just the last two dances of the men the first night, cuz I didn't even realize the show was starting this week. And I thought I'd tivo'd the women last night while I watched Big Brother. I went to watch it last night and saw it still recorded Big Brother instead...so upset to miss it as I wanted to see everyone. But I know this is one time I will be GLAD for RECAPS... you almost don't need to see the first shows because of them. Tell me someone, how was Pricilla?
Priscilla was a graceful lady. Also very humble. I hope she does well. I did not watch BB because I already knew what happened from reading Jackie's blog.
Precilla was really good. Unfortunately, Jullianne has Adam Corolla as a partner and won't last long. Jimmy Kimmel will be giving him grief and should be some good laughs.
What happened to Maxsim this year? He didn't come back

Sydney...you can watch episodes you miss online. Go to www.abc.com and click "full episodes" and then find DWTS. I'm dong that because I'm so antiquated I don't have TIVO and can only record one thing and watch another. There are too many conflicts right now. LOL.
Priscilla was pretty good, actually. She was graceful and looked quite good. They told her to work on her shoulders so her "upper line" looks better. The judges really liked her.
I'm watching this season because I am a Kristi Yamaguchi fan and I wasn't disappointed! She and her partner scored 27 out of 30. I'd give you Priscilla's scores but I don't remember them...maybe 8's or a mix of 7/8? Marlee Matlin also did really well, especially considering she can't hear the music. And the young woman from HairSpray...they didn't score that well but she has more energy and enthusiasm than can be contained! If she stays, I suspect she'll improve. Anyway...that's the amateur review. Hope it helps :)
Oh my Pricilla actually danced pretty good, all judges gave her an 8 score - however she appeared exhausted, which is understandable, her appearance after dancing resembled Marie Osmonds fainting-heavy breathing episode, I actually only viewed her dance and Mario's, I have many reality show's I need to watch, I never miss an epi of Road Rules, now that's one show I'm excited about along with Life of Ryan, I enjoy Survivor but it's not a show I cannot wait to view outcome, I believe there is someone on Survivor from Austin Tx, I haven't had time to re-read profile. I am so bummed that Julianne got such a doofus (is that a word) as a partner. He is funny tho, but he won't shut up... shades of Shiela. I hope they stay for a little while. He wasn't that bad for being so big and clumsy. Surely others are worse than he. Can you tell I want to see more of Julianne...who cares about her partner.
I missed the women... again too much to record at the same hours. I can only record one and watch one at the same time also.
Priscilla did very well, but what is up with the bad face lift? I don't think she can smile even if she wants to. Shades of Joan Rivers! Kristi was excellent. I think Monica (she is much better at tennis) will be the first of the gals to go, and most likely Adam Carolla will be the guy that bites the dust. A couple of great shows, both nights were entertaining.
About a month or so ago, Maxsim said he would only be appearing on DWTS this season when the pros do some of their dance routines. He will be back to compete with a partner next season.

I have decided to watch DWTS, and stay up to date with BB9 through this blog.
Several observations:
1- Jason Taylor is HOT, and I really don't care if he can dance or not. :)
2- Priscilla reminded me a bit of Jane Seymour last year. She did a terrific job, but may be a bit more challenged on less graceful and more energetic dances, ie the jive, etc.
3- Kristi Yamaguchi was absolutely great! She may be the girl to beat this year if she continues to improve along with the pack.
4- Jason Taylor is HOT

Thanks Jackie. Kristi was phenomenal! I expected her to do very well, but she surpassed my expectations. Priscilla surprised me. She was better than I thought she would be. Monica was pretty sad, and I don't think she'll improve very much either. I thought Shannon did pretty good for the first dance - I want her legs! Marlee Matlin did an amazing job. Her being on the show will be inspirational to a lot of people. The girl from Hairspray - sorry can't remember her name - is such a ball of energy. I think if they slip her a valium before each performance, she'll do great, LOL.
Monica will be the first lady to leave and either Penn or Corolla will be the first man. Personally, I hope it is Corolla.
My goodness,Kristi blew me away again tonight!! I thought when she started saying how she couldn't loosen up and shake her groove thing,she might have a problem,but no way!I thought they scored Mario just a little high for that dance tonight,as well. I thought Christian was good and Jason has great potential.Why don't I like Shannon,cause she thinks she's better than she is? Marlee and Priscilla were very good,as well.
I think it will be Monica going home for the ladies and maybe Penn,but would be happy if Corolla went. He thinks they are giving him the shaft,but he's just not good!Penn can't seem to pick up his feet to save his soul.I want Kristi to win it all,mostly because Karina is so sure she's got the winner this time and I want a woman to win!
Kristy was great! I think Mario looks like a younger Chris Rock. Are they related.
I'm having trouble with the backtalk to the judges. This early in the game I wouldn't be antagonizing any of them. They don't forget.
And I hate the comedian's constant chatter during the scoring. SHUT UP and learn. When you're asked a question that's one thing, but to go on and on and on is distracting.
I like Shannon. I thought her number was really good and deserved higher marks.
The guy who got all 9's (can't remember names yet) didn't deserve those high marks IMO. His hips really didn't move. He was fast and he was good, but just not that good.
I'm not sure any man as large as Penn can be light on his feet. I know Jason is tall, but not being as blocky, (and in better shape), it must be easier for him. I still like Penn better than Grand Master P from a few seasons ago. Their flat footed-ness is the same, but at least Penn tries. He seems to have a more fun attitude than Corolla does too.
It's definitely time for a female winner. IMO we haven't technically had one because I don't count that fiasco with Kelly Monaco. Kristi is definitely the front runner at this point, and I think her attitude and charisma will do her lots of favors with the judges and audience. Not to mention her partner is hot! Priscilla and Marlee are also strong contenders as is Mario (although I can never get over the fact that looking at Karina makes me want to kick her in the face). I thought Shannon was much better last night than the first week, the same for Christian. I'm just sad that Julianne got stuck with such a loser. It'll be a real loss to have her out of the competition so early, not only is she one of the best dancers, but one of the best choreographers too. Hopefully she'll hang around for the professional numbers and we'll get to see more of her.
One more thing...it's nice to see Tony Dovolani having so much fun this year with the girl from Hairspray. Jane Seymour always had such a puss on her face (even before her mother passed away) I can't imagine he had too much fun with her. It must be a nice change for him.

I am most surprised by how good Priscilla is!And I agree,meb,it's too bad Julianne got stuck with that jerk this time.You can tell that Karina and Edyta think they have it in the bag this time,but I'm pulling(and voting) for Kristi to win. She's got that drive that it takes to win at the Olympics and she knows how to train and she always was so wonderful at interpreting the music when she skated. You go girl...here's to a Kristi win!!!

I missed the first part of the elimination show and came in where the acrobatic dancers with that ball were on. I had to replay it two or three times, it was that good. I kept waiting for one of the girls to get their head smashed on the floor, they way they were throwing them around. Excellent! Who were they?
I agree with the two who went home. Neither were going to make it to the end. I think they have an overabundance of bad dancers this time compared to last year. It seemed that last year they ALL could dance well right from the beginning.
Well,Kristi just continues to amaze me.AND,she totally captured the demeanor of the tango and then CA has the nerve to bash her for it!After watching Dance Wars and seeing what dreck she and Bruno put on that stage,I take what she says with a grain of salt.And I look to Len for the truth on the floor,guess he's DWTS Simon. He was spot on about Mario and Marisa and others tonight.
I'm liking Jason as the men's front runner. For a big guy,he is amazing. I thought Mario was bad tonight and Karina looked daggers at him out of the corner of her eyes.I also have liked Christian from the start and he and Cheryl were great tonight. Steve Guttenburg is trying so hard and he's getting better. I want Corolla gone,he's stupid and annoying and R U D E.I think Marisa is in jeopardy and I just don't care for Shannon that much. Priscilla continues to shock me no end. Because of the events of the last week or so in my personal life, I've seen little of the show so far and I hadn't seen Pricilla dance yet. I definitely was very
interested to see what she would be like when I heard she was signed up. I see she is very popular so don't hate me but I wondered how her body would move because... here it comes... her face wouldn't move. Like Farrah Fawcett, I just wonder how whatever these women, who have access to the best doctors and all the $$ in the world, did to their faces that went so wrong. This is not to slight her as a person or her abilities, but am I the only one?
But I digress. I am amazed that Adam Corolla seems so into this show and doing it at all, since he's such a beer and bathroom jokes kinda guy. I think that poor cutie Juliana who has to dance with him keeps smiling professionally but is really biting her tongue and feels really gypped being paired with him after Apollo and Helio. But they can't favor any of the pro dancers and must rotate the odds each season. Cheryl got put with a "loser" type after her winning season too.
I think Steve Gutenberg is the Marie Osmond (and before her, Leeza Gibbons) of this season. Seems there needs to be the kind of person that isn't a fabulous dancer but everyone wants to keep because of their aw shucks likability. You'd think that description would fit that Mark guy (with the hip replacement) from last season, but he was so over the top you just winced while you watched... feeling guilty because he was sincerely having such a good time.
And they guy in the green vest(looks just like Chris Rock) I thought they were GREAT tonight and was shocked at the judges opinions.
First off let me correct myself I stated Kristi's partner in my last comment but I actually meant Marlee's partner not Kristi's.
I thought this week many of the teams really brought up their games. As smarty as Adam can be he seemed to really try this week. His humor is really dry which can be hard to take.
I just adore Kristi I think she is such a wonderful performer and is so graceful.
Mario's routine really was lacking something this week I think it was very apparent he didn't have much time to "train" this past week.
Jason is okay but not what I would consider someone in the end well maybe final three, ;) I see Marlee going pretty far though she is so awesome considering she has such a huge disadvantage.
Priscilla's face has look a wee bit better since the first week, makes me wonder if she had just had botox right before the first show and it has calmed slightly. I think she does just fabulously especially for her age. Not a big fan here for her partner though.
I like Cristian and hope to see him around for a while, I think he has potential; Shannon is fun to watch on one hand but kind of stiff in in other ways so not sure on that one. I am worrying about Marisa because she has potential but I am thinking Tony, even though he says he's confident in her I am not seeing it, I see him lacking in training with her and therefore she isn't doing drop dead performances. All her routines have lacked substance more fluff than there should be ... now I know she's fluffy but that by NO-means means she cannot do what she needs to do. Sorry let me put that soapbox away now.
My roommate told me last night that she heard that Priscilla is involved in some kind of lawsuit with a plastic surgeon. It involves some kind of illegal chemical he imported to the States that has caused paralysis in some people. Certainly seems like an explanation for the odd look of her mouth and cheeks. But I don't really know if that's true or just a rumor floating around.
I'm still liking Kristi for the win. She gives the same feeling to dancing as she did when she ice skated and you just can't help but root for her. Once again, I thought Cristian improved again this week, as did Steve & Priscilla. I don't really like Adam either, but I can't help but root for Julianne. Hands down she's my favorite, but hopefully she gets a better partner next season.
Yes,it's been all over the net and news about this shyster doctor who injected some awful toxic stuff into a lot of hoity-toity Hollywood types.And Priscilla is one of them. I guess it takes time to get this out of your system and they have to be very careful. It's a long,slow process to fix and not done overnight. Oh vanity,thy name is woman!Never,never,ever would I let somebody shoot anything into my face! Don't they realize that makes it's way into your entire body!These women had parties where this jerk came and injected this car lubricant into their faces! I am guessing,with her money,if there was a quick fix to this,Priscilla would have done it already.
I so agree with you Caroline about Marisa. I also think her short legs and the difference in their heights,make it hard for them to look like a smooth and together couple.She tries,God Bless her,but I'm thinking Tony isn't so into it either.
I think this competition is in the bag for Kristi if she can keep up this level of performance. Figure skaters tend to have huge fan bases. Add them to the people who will vote for her because she's dancing so well and she should be unbeatable. I enjoy watching Christian - he's a beautiful man and very funny too. Mario had a bit of an off night - though I don't think it was as bad as the judges said - but I think he will be back next week and will wow us. I continue to be amazed at what Marlee Matlin can do with her limitations. I couldn't do half as well, and I can hear the music! I agreed with the judges that Marisa was being too careful. I really thought she would let loose and have some fun, but she was very controlled, which doesn't work too well with the jive. I don't think Tony is giving it his all with her. Adam really should be out of here this week, but Julianne may have enough of a following in her own right to keep him around a little longer. Who goes home this week? Should be Adam, but might be Shannon or Marisa instead.

Okay guys,tell me what I kinda missed tonight,my sister called right in the middle of DWTS.As usual,I thought Kristi was the bomb and was sorry she didn't get 10's across,but then,it wasn't perfect or a knockout. But then,if hers wasn't,what was with all the other 29's all night?? Were they all that good,or are the judges trying to not look as if they have crowned the winner yet? I really didn't think Mario's paso was anywhere near as good as Kristi's.maybe it's just sour grapes and I want Kristi to be the first "true" female winner of DWTS.None of those guys this season even come close to her talent on that floor.
I certainly don't think anyone else was as good as Kristi last night, she's definitely head & shoulders above her competition. I was definitely not that impressed by Mario & Karina, they were better than last week, but not as good as their scores. I was however impressed with Derek & Shannon. Although I was fearful that at any time Derek was going to reinjure himself and crumple to the floor. Jonathon's definitely getting a workout this season as the understudy...Shannon may have benefitted from working with him, he's very talented.
I thought Kristi was fabulous last night and can't understand why some of the rest of the scores were so high. Jason and Edyta had a couple of very obvious mistakes and though it was overall a good performance, did not rate a 29. I thought Mario and Karina's score of 24 was accurate, but he can do better. Scores for Christian, Priscilla and Marlee were a little high in my opinion. Adam's score of 19 was well deserved. Can he please go home now? I mean come on, a unicycle? Kristi should win this thing easily. My only criticism would be that she needs to show a little more emotion in her face.
I think Kristi's problem is her frozen expression on her face. She needs to soften up a bit. No one can beat her dancing.
I also like Shannon. She was so graceful. And, I too was holding my breath as Derek danced. I often wondered how they can throw their necks around the way they do without getting injured.
Time for Adam to go. I knew when I saw the unicycle it was probably his last "dance".
Please let the uni be Adam's last dance. I don't find his humor very funny and I feel really bad for JulieAnne to have to work with him. Maybe ABC paired her with a loser so she could spend more time on promoting her album.

I'm not sure who goes tonight. It may be Marisa or Priscilla. Priscilla's dance just didn't do it for me this week,it was kind of stilted and she sure didn't get the scores she was hoping for. But the one that just doesn't move me is Shannon. She is so gawky,stiff legged looking to suit my taste. maybe it's cause she is so tall and the height difference between her and Derek looks off to me,but I don't like her dancing. I didn't even think last week's was that great,even tho old Lenny gave her that 10.
And I just want to know what CA's problem with Kristi is? She knocks her every week about lacking or not showing emotion and Kristi knocked it out of the park this week,and that witch still wouldn't give her a 10! Like I've said,after watching CA's pathetic turn on Dance Wars,I question her ability to judge anyway.Maybe she needs to get "some",so she'd recognize real passion when she sees it......meow!
I don't know Sharon - I do kind of agree with Carrie Ann about Kristi showing more emotion on her face. I do think she's definitely getting better at it though. At the beginning of her dance last night she wasn't giving us anything much in the face, but about half way through she seemed to really get into it and you could see it in her face. No one else can touch her technically, so if she works on the expression more she should be unbeatable - imo.
I thought Mario did really well last night and redeemed himself. I totally missed Christian and Cheryl - how did they do? I thought Priscilla was awful. Shannon was stiff. Marissa is a little powerhouse, but she just doesn't move me at all. I think Jason is a little overrated. He really doesn't do much at all - I agree with Len too much posing from Edyta with Jason just standing around. I love Marlee, but this wasn't a good week for her in my opinion. She looked very shaky.
Re: Carrie Ann & Kristi....although CA didn't give Kristi a 10 this week...she did give her one last week, so it's not like she's completely against her. This week, I think CA realized Len & Bruno were gonna give her 10s and that she didn't think the routine was a perfect 30, so to compensate she gave her a 9. She doesn't want Kristi to get complacent, since some of the others are stepping up their game, and there are some improvements Kristi could make. One of the reasons CA has always been my favorite judge is she always pushes the contestants towards perfection, she always gives them constructive criticism to work on and it makes them better dancers for it. Kristi put more emotion in this week, per CA's advice, and her dance this week was definitely better than last week.
I liked Marlee's dance. I just have to give her points for being able to dance that way without hearing the actual music. I know we shouldn't reward the handicap, but I just can't help admiring her for what she's accomplishing. Watching her dance, you would never know she doesn't hear.
Agree, Priscilla didn't do well this week. And agree, Jason does nothing for me. Edyta seems to give herself great moves and safe moves for Jason... ain't gonna win anything that way.
I have to give Mario the best of the night.

Totally agree about Jason,but I actually like his dancing better than Mario(I think it's Karina I don't like)and am amazed at how well he does for a football player. Christian and Cheryl were okay and I want him to do so well,but he just comes short of the mark most times.I think maybe Marisa may have danced her last this week. There is just something frenetic about her style and I don't think Tony is into her 100% and she's so short and he's so tall and they look off balance or something. I felt so bad for Marlee,went she got out of sync and,yes,I think what she is doing is amazing. She's such a competitor. I hope this doesn't put her in jeopardy tonight.

Kristi was brilliant, and a vision in that lavendar outfit.
And what was up with the teasing and hinting with Julianne's brother and the brunette -- Shannon? (I hope you all can stand that I don't invest much in names...). All the couples have a bond but they do stand with their arms WRAPPED around each other at all times and when they hear good news they go to embrace or kiss cheeks and there is that akward millisecond when it looks like they are trying to remember NOT to make out... any thoughts there y'all?
I was amazed that Pricilla went just on missing a turn... she wasn't great the week before, but Marlee made far more mistakes in her dance this week. She has a good reason... if you can't hear a thing, not even the vibration of the beat, she's amazing for doing so well... did she not go this week because people give her credit for that? Well deserved, but did anyone else thing Pricilla's mistake was not as bad as Marlee's mistakes this week?

well, Just saw on Entertainment tonight pictures of Shannon and Derek, making out on the beach. They look as staged as all of Andy Baldwin's beach shots... or Spencer Pratt and Whatever her name is from the Hills... I hope it's real and not just to make more of their careers...

I saw Shannon playing in the World Series of Poker here in LV over the weekend. Don't know if he was with her or not.
Marlee is amazing within her limitations, and somewhat reminds me of Heather Mills from last season. I think we all may cut them a bit of slack due to the circumstances, and another dancer always pays the price. Priscilla last week, and several last season, as I recall.
I am enjoying this season! It is actually refreshing to watch something positive and uplifting!

I have also been skipping BB with the exception of the "live" eviction shows as they bore me and I keep current through the blog. :)
Thanks for the answer re Mario and Katrina still being together Sydney. That's funny about the snoring. I still don't feel they make a couple (good or bad). They don't look like they belong together.
I haven't seen the show yet (taped it) but heard that Marlee went home this week. Too bad, cause I think Jason should have gone first. He's tall and looks good, but his arms and hands just appear to be out of body... he just doesn't know what to do with them, so he puts them straight out... ruins his whole dance.
Kristi is just plain good!!!! Nuf said! If she doesn't win, something's really amiss.

Well the best DWTS news of the week for ME is that single gal Cheryl Burke was introduced to HOT star of 300 (rev up your 8 pack and shout "WE.. ARE ..SPARTA!!!) by her dance partner. Lucky girl.

WOw Katrina and her partner jsut did a great great latin dance. WOW they're good. And I loved Kristi's second dance when they wore the green. I want to be up there doing either of those dances with them!!!
I missed that the one guy got hurt... I was writing on the blog! Can someone let me know what happened when you get a chance? I heard comments that he still completed the dance or pulled thru for his partner (was it Cheryl?) so hard to tell what went on.
Delee, I know.. it's so hard to watch and comment, but there are still so many couples and so many dances that if I don't write as I go I forget all my impressions!
I thought Shannon started strong in that midnight blue dress but then her long legs have no kick (While Derek's legs flicked like a match to fire) and she messed up at the end. I was really surprised the judges said almost nothing about it. Wonder why.
Sydney, I think they toned down what they would have said to Shannon and Derek because of their reaction last week to the negative comments.
I think Kristi should definetely be in the final 2 but I am not sure who else, maybe Mario?
Probably about 3/4 of the way thru, Christan kept his left arm bend and hugging his body. THen he tried to use it and just could not because of the pain. Looked like Cheryl lost her balance and ended up on the floor and Christan almost landed on her. Their dance was the best of the night for me up to that point and they received 3-7's/
Lord, I thought he was having a heart attack or seizure or something right at the end, and it scared me to death! It just looked like he lost control of the left (?) side of his upper body, and you could see he was in pain. I am hopeful they can continue. :(
Sydney, I also agree that Cheryl is a lucky lucky girl! I saw him (cannot remember his name to save my life) on a late night talk show when 300 promotion was in full swing, and find him HOT! And appears to be a good guy! How terrific for her!

I wasn't pleased with the scoring tonight AT ALL. To me, it seemed like a blatant attempt to pull Kristi down from the top of the leaderboard. Did anyone watch Kristi's 2nd dance and think she deserved less than 30? Because I thought it was magnificent, flawless and chock full of personality. She was robbed not to get a perfect score. On the flipside, I thought Jason & Edyta were scored way too high on their Quickstep. On numerous occasions his footwork was completely out of sync with her footwork and they did a lift. I think under those circumstances to get 9's was too high.
I am however, very happy for the Hairspray girl because she is definitely getting better and she's having soooo much fun! I did feel very bad for Cheryl & Christian, all their hard work that was turning into a great performance. It's ashame his muscle cramp didn't hold off for just a few mins.
As for who's going home...I hope it's Mario & Karina. I can't stand her and he has so much going on in his professional life he's only half committed to this. I wouldn't want to see someone fully committed go home instead of him.
I did think the judges were a little harsh on Kristy on purpose. I thought both her dances were great, and the second dance did deserve all 10s, but you know how Len feels about hip-hop - they took a chance by putting that in it. But I think they will get more audience votes because of it. I always think they score Jason too high. For being such a big guy he's doing a good job, but a lot of the time he's just posing. I felt so bad for Christian. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. I think Mario is doing really well and deserves to make it to finale if he keeps it up. My pick to go home would be Shannon. She's trying really hard, but I still find her to be gawky. It's funny, but for a really sexy woman, she does not do well on the sexy latin dances.
Re: Len & Hip-Hop
I just feel that Len should have put his personal feelings for hip-hop aside and judged on the basis of how well they did those moves and if those moves fit into the style of dance. Allowing personal preference to interfere with judging the dance is a tricky situation. I was just hoping he would have been professional enough to rise above his likes and dislikes and fairly assess the performance put before him. Mostly I was just disappointed in what came across as a petty criticism by Len, IMO.
Rbennie - I agree...she is too tall to look anything but awkward with Derek...she should go....
I also think Mario is doing a superb job and I vote for him and also for Cristian and Jason.
I cant get interested in Marisa because I still look at her and see Tracey Turnblad.
I just heard on the radio that Christian has to drop out of the competition due to his injury. What a shame. He was getting pretty good, and he's not bad to look at either.
That's too bad about Christian and poor Cheryl. I really liked that second dance they were doing,too.
I hope "Big Bird" goes home tonight. That's what I call Shannon,cause that's what she reminds me of. She's so gawky and stiff kneed at times and the only time she truly moved her hips in that dance was when she was standing in front of the judges doing it on purpose.So,if you cry and bitch and moan,the judges take it easy on you? Not right and I wish her gone.
I was ticked about Len and his judging of Kristi,too. Even if it's not his cup of tea,the old fart should have judged her for the skill in which she did it.And,I get so tired of Bruno parroting everything CA says,their turns were "a little off"...boo.
I like Jason,think he moves well for a big man,think Mario is a very quick study with all he has on his plate,but his dancing doesn't move me and I can't stand Karina and tolerate Edyta. I just read that Mario Lopez and Karina are over and she's moved out of his house.....GOOD!

Did they make any comment at all about Cristian and his injury? They showed him and his partner waiting to find out if they were safe or not but I didn't hear an update on his trip to the hospital.
Christan has a ruptured tendon and needs surgery but DR says he can continue. He is safe but we will see.

Well, I can't say I was too sorry to see Shannon / Derek go home tonight. I really like him, and her, not so much, and they left me feeling a bit bitter after they went off on the judges critiques last week. Get over it. They pick on everybody one week or another. :)
Remember the really tall blonde a few seasons ago with the legs from here to Miami?? Cannot remember her name... Stacey?? Anyhoo, she somehow managed to look graceful and elegant, and had great moves, while Shannon looks a bit more awkward, so I believe they had plateaued, and that was as good as it was gonna get for Shannon / Derek.
I had a hard time imagining Def Leppard on DWTS, and I would think they had a difficult time picturing themselves there, as well, but they sounded good. Blast from back in the day!!

I'm kinda sad to see Shannon/Derek go because I absolutely adore Derek. Now I don't have either Hough sibling to root for :-( But at least Julianne/Apollo will be back next week, so that's something to look forward to!
I think Cristian is being kind of stupid by staying in the competition. If his injury is bad enough for surgery, it would seem wise to not continue and just take care of the problem now. Plus, it's not like they really win anything at the end of the show...just a cheesy trophy that Drew Lachey even said falls apart pretty quickly anyway. Doesn't seem worth risking his health.
Did anyone think Def Leppard was lip synching? At least on Pour Some Sugar on Me. It sounded exactly like the studio version and I always find it hard to believe artists are really singing in those situations.
Well I think the right person went home last night. Shannon was definitely the worst of the bunch. Now we'll see how long the romance lasts after the dancing stops. Is it just me or is it surprising how many of these professional guys are actually straight?
I was glad to see Christian there last night, but I don't know if it is wise of him to continue to compete. He could quite possibly make the injury even worse by continuing. I admire his conviction to continue, but he better think about his long-term health.

Could Eddita wear less? Though I have to say, her bod beats out Giselle Bunchen's and that's hard to do, Long legs, long torso, perfect everything. I wouldn't know, lol.

Kristi's dances are starting to look like they're all the same. He needs some more choreography or he's going to lose for her.
I'm just anxious to see the 8:00 show where the 5 best dances of the first 5 seasons are performed. You know they'll show Julianne at least once. Plus she's coming back in the 9:00 show to dance with Anton live. That should really be good.
And Mario Lopez (dimples) is dancing with his Chorus Line dancers. Wonder what Katrina thinks about that, considering I read they just broke up.

I'm more excited about seeing Julianne/Apollo and Mel/Maksim dance tonight than I've been about this whole season. They're some of my absolute favorite partnerships. And isn't Drew Lachey supposed to be back? Dancing with Cheryl maybe?
I definitely think they gave Cheryl/Cristian a little boost in their scores, but even with that they may still be in the bottom 2. If Marissa does go home tonight than Kristi will be the only female left in the competition. I'd like to see Marissa stay around a little longer because she really embodies the spirit of the show and she has been getting better each week. If she does go, at least she had a good time, showed the world you don't have to have a perfect body to do this and vastly improved from week to week.
Alright! BIT SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE SHOW YET!
First I so enjoyed watching the countdown of the best 10 dances. I'm glad that Mario Lopez got #1, cause I thought he was robbed when Emmett won that year. Don't get me wrong, I loved Emmett, but he was just a real smooth dancer, not a real ballroom dancer and Mario was IMO so much better.
I really thought Juianne and Helio (sp) were really the best of all the dancers out of the 10 they picked but I'm happy Mario L. was in there.
I never liked Drew...still don't and I hated that cowboy # they showed tonight of him and Cheryl. He was a much better dancer than that # (even tho I don't care for him...Smile).
Max and Mel B were fantastic to watch again and they picked the best # for them. Good to see Max back in the Pro dance # at the beginning of the show.
And I loved the Chorus Line # with Mario Lopez, but I wish they had worn the costumes from the show. I love that show and have seen it 3times. Would go see it again in a heartabeat!
As for who got eliminated tonight. I think Mario was a much better dancer than Jason, so that surprised me (after I got over the surprise that Marisa is still there). I'm glad, I like her, even tho she isn't the best of the dancers. Oh well, at least Katrina is gone... that's a plus.
Tonight was a good night for TV. I still have shows taped that I need to watch but tomorrow is another day.
Obama won NC... haven't heard yet who won Indiana. Hillary had a slight lead there when I quit checking in.

I have to think Karina's unpopularity sent them home. Her rolling her eyes and waving goodbye before they announced who has leaving, made me dislike her evenmore.
I do think she has an amazing talent, but she has a crappy attitude, and it shows on the dance floor. She acted as if she could of cared less about being there.
I was so glad Marissa stayed at well as Christian. Their performances were really great Monday night.

And I loved seeing Ashley DelGrosso back in the fist number,with all the pros!! She's got dark hair now,but I wish she was back on the show(maybe in place of Karina...yeah)!I still feel so sorry for her getting stuck with Master P.And I'd like her better than Anna or Kim,JMO.

If anything, I thought showing Kelly Monaco as #10 proved she shouldn't have won. I thought it was a big joke back then, and I still think it's a big joke. She was nowhere near as good as John.
I also loved Ashley DelGrosso. It would really be nice to see her back soon...especially in place of Karina or Edyta.
I'm so thrilled that Karina went home. I feel bad for Mario, cause I actually kinda liked him...but he was cursed by his partner. She's so completely unlikeable that I'm not sure she could ever win no matter who her partner is. General consensus is the fans of the show can't stand her.
As for the Top 10 Countdown. I think #1 should have been Julianne/Helio doing the Quickstep. IMO, it's the best dance ever performed on this show. Still happy it made the countdown, but I would have liked to see it hold the top spot.
Mario was on Jimmy Kimmel live last night, and alas no Karina. I Derek was there was Shannon last week.

I didn't watch season 1 of DTWS, got into it midway season 2. I couldn't believe how awful Kelly was during her final dance. Were all the dancers that bad that season??
I don't remember that much about the 1st season...but it was much shorter than all the others. It started with only 6 celebrities. But still, I always thought that John O'Hurley was much, much better than Kelly Monaco. He was completely robbed. If anyone is interested there are some videos of him and his partner on youtube.

Did not think Kristi's last dance was that great. Footwork looked akward throughout... why did the judges rave? Their tango was great though.
Didn't think that the paso doble with Edyta and Is it Jason was passionless and his steps were rather bland.
I also think last week Christian and Cheryl got special consideration but they blew me away tonight. He did step up to be his best with the loss of his right arm!
I agree with those here that there were so many mistakes in Kelly'd final dance from the first season. I know there was controversy that year. You can see how far this show's standards have come.
I thought the top two past were Apollo and Helio with the fabulously talented Julianne. It was nice to see the back street guy do his magic again too. Ditto Max and Mel B.

I adored Kristi and Marks tango tonight. I also don't think their jive was nearly as good as the other one. Kristi looked kind of flatfotted at times,not bouncy on the balls of her feet. I guess they said it was difficult,what they did,but it didn't excite me like the other one. But the tango was mui caliento...hot,hot,hot!
I won't care if it's Marissa or Jason who goes home tomorrow,but would snicker if Edyta was out. I think Cheryl was a little bit conceited when it came to the comment about her knowing what it takes to win this. Now,I like Christian all right,but this is Kristi's to lose. GO KRISTI and MARK!!!! Christian is so much better since he hurt himself. I thought he was foolish to continue after his injury but he has proven that he can dance basically only using the one arm. I'm just not that thrilled with Cheryl. She bugs me for some reason. She's a great dancer, but I prefer someone like Julianne who hasn't taken on that "look how great I am", even tho she is. Humble goes a long way with me.
Edyta has calmed down some in her boldness, and is wearing slightly more clothes, but I just don't think Jason is that great.
Marissa is cute, but she isn't the dancer that the others have been able to master. If her fan base keeps her in, then like Mario last week, a better dancer than her will go home tonight.
And that leaves Kristi. If she loses, then she got robbed. She is the best of all of them. Even tho she has had training in skating and it may be to her advantage, she's still the better dancer of the final four, thus, in my opinion, she should win.

Edyta is not one of my favorites, I hate how they dress her, and I thought their NFL paso was very similar to last year's Superman's paso with the guy from AMC. Jason just isn't that light on his feet.
I would like to see to the final 2 to be Christian/Cheryl and Kristi/Mark. They have both come a long way

Those kids were super again tonight! The little ones are cute,but all the sexy wiggling just looks kind of silly,but they will be true contenders down the line(those two little girls,who have no hips,could show Shannon a thing or two)(so there crybaby,Shannon)!But the two older kids..........WOW...they are so good. I am biased towards Ashly anyway,but finding out they were her students,not surprised. I hope they win. And,I'd love to see Ashly back on the show next season.

Well, I don't think there will be any surprises with this one. I see Kristi and Mark with the mirrorballs, which we could have called week one! But it has been a good ride and lots of fun!

I have to say that Kristi was exceptional night. She brought it on in both dances and deserved the 10's. I hope the fans agree and she ends up with the trophy because she truly deserves it. Those costumes in the freestyle were AWESOME! I love glitter..it seems to add to the dance number.
Did you notice Sabrina was in the audience. I would suppose she and Mark remain friends even tho they are no longer together.

Congratulations to Kristi and Mark. They truly deserved the win. I too, thought Jason and Edyta should have gone first, then Christian and Cheryl.
Overall, I felt that better dancers than Jason and Christian left early. I didn't like Katrina, but Mario was a much better dancer than Jason. Jason must have had a great fan base. I also thought that Marlee was a better dancer than the two of the guys left.
Kristi did deserve the win even if people thought she had an advantage because of her skating background. We saw a lot of Mark teaching his heart out, so I think she was in a totally new element. She still was the best dancer of them all and they are celebrities. There are bound to be some celebrities with a dancing background.
So now it's time to tune into So You Think You Can Dance. See you there.
I'm so happy for Kristi & Mark. They truly deserved it. I do not think she had an unfair advantage. Figure skating and ballroom dancing are worlds apart. I think her real advantages were her work ethic and excellent physical condition. I to thought that Christian deserved second place more so than Jason. I was never all that impressed with Jason, other than that he moves pretty well for such a big guy.
Now if my baby boy - David A. can win AI, I will truly be having the "Best Week Ever" - LOL.

I have to say I thought Jason's quickstep dinally showed him to be a contender... but overall, between the two, Kristi was the winner hands down. The great thing is watchign everyone grow and that the casts seem to really bond and have a great TV family. Everyone loses weight, feels great about themselves by stretching to learn this very tough thing of ballroom dancing so win or no win (unless you are the first one to go) it seems all the contestants end up pretty happy about it, with a little boost to their careers, if not a big one afterwards.
An exception might be -- name problem again here-- first season's John O"Hurley (is that his name???) who felt robbed of his first place prize... but this is where it's all about how big your fan base is, not what your talent necesarily is. Kelly has a huge base thru the soaps and he probably had less votes.
Susan Lucci (Erica, ALL MY CHILDREN) is one of the celebrities to compete on this seasons' DANCING WITH THE STARS. She'll be paired with Tony Dovolani.
