Big Brother 11: Live Feeds Bulletin - POV 8/01

Late once again (I wish they'd do this later on Saturdays as I'm just getting in) -- Michele won the power of veto.

More later!

On the feeds, Jeff and Jordan are discussing why America might pick each one of the HG's to win the secret power. Little do they know that America is shallow and likes the good lookin folks. But to their credit and ours, they really do have good personalities and are not stuck up and totally into themselves like the others. I hope Jeff wins it. Anyone one know how the voting is going?

jeff about jessie: "that guys got the personality of an orange road cone."

Anonymous said...

haha anon, I was thinking Jessie has the personality of a paper clip, but I work in an office. Orange cones is a compliment to that tool.

Anon, did you hear that too? OMG, I literally busted out laughing when Jeff said that.

The way that Jeff says that Jordan has been keeping him sane in this game, that's how I feel about Jeff -- he has made this season worth watching.

I really hope he wins, because he's deep down a good guy, and he is smart. His observations are right on, he's reading people well. It's to his credit that he's not the type to get his soul all dirtied up for some money.

Sometimes the good guys do win. America needs to remember that just about now. I for one am tired of the greedy liars of the world "winning" too often.

Aren't we waaaay ahead of ourselves on Jeff winning the game? Wouldn't he need to start playing it first?

He actually survived the 1st 3 weeks largely because of the athlete clique which kept him safe. Remember Russell going ape-doo-doo on him week 1? (Which is why I'm not sure why people are so sure Russell is with the beautiful people instead of the well-muscled people?)

What move has Jeff actually made in the game so far? And I don't count making a deal with Russell as a move so much as a leap of faith.

P.S. Someone suggested Dan "kept his integrity" and won last season. I rather remember most people thinking Dan was a tool all season; funny how winning changes everything.

formerly anon said...

Joe, the "beautiful" people in this game just also happen to be physically attractive.

Their beauty is on the inside. The fact that they are also nice-looking is just a perk.

If Jessie, for example, had a more attractive soul, I could imagine thinking he was also physically attractive. But as it is, he's not.

I recall Dan being quite popular here last season. Jesse - NOT!

Joe said: "What move has Jeff actually made in the game so far? And I don't count making a deal with Russell as a move so much as a leap of faith."

Ask me that again after the winner of the coup d'etat is named.

If Jeff wins that, then I submit that it was his personality that won it for him. If nothing else, that should prove that one's personality can definitely give them a huge advantage in this game. Not all "game play" has to be about deceit and subterfuge.

OMG, the conversation right now between Jeff and Jordan is just hysterical!

They ask each other what animal they would like to be. Jeff easily answers: an eagle and Jordan asks why? And he says cuz they can fly and they're cool.

Jordan says she would be a squirrel.

Jeff says: "What kind of aspirations do you have in life, anyway?"

LOL, it's just frikken hysterical.

OK, for the first time I believe that Michele FOR SURE will be voting Ronnie out, no matter how many times he tries to get into her ear.

She's smart enough to realize that her vote will either align her with Jeff/Jordan/Russell or with Jessie/Natalie/Chima. And how could there be any contest between those two groups?

I'm 100% confident that Ronnie is going home this week YAY!!!

8/01/2009 8:30 PM

There's no doubt that personality is a huge part of the game, but winning the coup d'etat hardly counts as making a move. Using it (or not using it) might count, but we'll have to see how that plays out. We can't give him credit for MAYBE winning the CDT and then MAYBE using it to some good end.

Up until now, you'd have to admit that (love 'em or hate 'em) Jessie made moves, Ronnie (gag) made moves, Russell (gag and shudder) made moves, even Natalie has made moves, Lydia (triple gag) has made moves - Jeff? Not so much.

Now, that doesn't make him a bad person or anything, but it certainly doesn't make him a good player!

As for Jessie (why am I always defending him?), he's the HG I love to hate. I hated him last season but missed him when he was gone. He's always good for a laugh, even if it is at his expense. I'll miss him this season when he's gone. Jeff and Jordan? Excuse me, I just threw up a little in my mouth. They would bore me to tears. If you took out Natalie, Jessie, Ronnie and Russell, you'd have unflavored ice cream with Casey sprinkles.

wv is "rantri" which is what I may go on! :)

Jeff and Jordan are just talking, asking all sorts of questions, Jordan asks Jeff: what are your fears?

Jeff says: dying before I have a kid.

I'm like: Oh Doood, have a kid then come back to that question! Once you have a kid, your answer is: dying WHILE I have a kid!

wv = aeroadd

I think I must have aeroadd

To Joe in NY.........are you simply putting all the negativity our for Jeff and Jordan because you are not a happy soul? Regardless of what happens in this game, they are lovely caring people and that shows through, even on a reality TV show. I would have them over for dinner and talk anytime........Jessie...never!

formerly anon said...

Joe, I think we differ in what constitutes "making moves" in this game.

To me, washing your own dirty dishes is "making moves."

Offering to cook meals for other people is "making moves."

Cleaning up other people's messes is "making moves."

Etc.

I didn't put any negativity out towards Jeff and Jordan. Are you feeling negativity from me because of your own deep-seated unhappiness and tremendous insecurity?

Sorry, I take that back, but you see my point. ALL I SAID (originally) was that Russell was playing a good game this week and may be aligned with Jessie for his (Russell's) own good. That was IT.

I later commented that I didn't see Jeff as having made any moves yet and to suggest that he would win the game was premature. THAT'S IT.

I never mentioned Jordan at all, other than to suggest that their showmance made me a little nauseated. (THAT might be my sexual frustration leaking out because I would DEFINITELY hit that!)

No offense intended or implied.

Hey, my wv is "oratingh" which is what I just did! LOL

That may be true. I think I made 3 game moves just today. Does weeding the garden count too?

I think Jeff has been playing. He has won the power of veto and has come close to winning other comps as well. He seems like a nice guy, I hope he goes all the way.

I agree. He does seem like a nice guy, and I wouldn't mind if he won - don't think it'll happen, but I don't mind. He'd actually be #2 on my list of House Guests I'd Like To Have Dinner With. #1 is NOT Jessie, give you 3 guesses who it is! LOL

So I'll assume that Michele won't be using the veto and the noms will remain the same. It seems like Jeff is a shoe in for the coup d'etat, but there is no reason for him to use that power this week. Regardless of whether it's Ronnie or Lydia going home, as long as Jeff and Jordan are safe this week, he'd be smart to save it for next week. Between Ronnie and Lydia, I don't really care which goes home - can't stand either of them (and Lydia is my pool pick!) I totally get what Joe is saying, up to this point the "GGs" have not done a thing but let themselves get picked off one by one. I want to see them really start playing the game. America is going to hand Jeff a very powerful tool. I hope he uses is wisely.

Thanks Rbennie, that's all I was trying to say. Jeff may prove to be a great player or not, but I just think it is too soon to say. If I were anti-Jessie (and I am a little bit), I would actually put my bet on Russell as the one who ousts him rather than Jeff. Russell is actually popular with EVERYONE in the house, I'm not sure Jeff is so popular with the Jessie Gang.

Hey Joe in NY.....your comments back to me were quite funny....had me laughing out loud. Would you like to be my psychiatrist when this is all over?

Good God NO! That would be like putting out a fire with gasoline. LOL (Much love - platonic, of course.)

To me, it sounds a little bit like the GGs are not "pulling themselves up by their bootstraps" according to some here.

Is that it?

Does anyone effin deny that GodMan Jessie had a HUGE unfair advantage coming into this game? Oh wait, that doesn't count, does it? He got that because he DESERVED it, right?

Go read Malcolm Gladwell's book "Outliers" to learn something about how successful people actually became successful. It's not what you may think.

Anonymous said...

Joe, to say you've not been negative about Jeff is kind of a cop-out now. To go on and on about Jessies great moves when we've seen the GGs hand him his success on a silver platter by doing nothing to stop him surely cannot mean he is some game expert. He got lucky all the way through cause nobody wanted to make waves. WE are all entitled to our own opinions. Wish we could express them without being jumped on.

I love it when Jackie's peeps get a good conversation going. All of you bring up something that I wonder about every season. I can't quote chapter and verse about past seasons and can't even remember most of the former hgs names. But, I do know that some that did well in the game were called 'floaters'. I remember one season thinking that floating wasn't getting the respect it deserved because whoever it was (a woman?) had to work very hard at keeping out of everything. I don't know that Jeff or Jordan are floaters...but their play so far might be called more passive than agressive. But, they neither one played any cards too soon, as Ronnie did, so not playing could have been a play. Chima said last night that she knew her reaction to the hard bed the first week made her a target, and she tried to keep from doing that again. That was playing the game, but in a passive way. What do you all think?

So if America hands Jeff the CDT (clearly an unfair power advantage) would his using it not count as a game move?

Wish I could express my opinion without being jumped on. WTF? Who did I jump on? I made a (hopefully) cogent argument as to why Russell's NOT ousting Jessie was in Russell's best interest and suggesting Russell may be more aligned with Jessie and Jeff. That's it. I then offered MY OPINION that Jeff hadn't done much in the game. So what? Boo-hoo. Just my opinion and NOT a personal attack directed at anyone, not even Jeff. It doesn't make him a bad person, it doesn't even make him a bad player, it just makes him (til now) a non-player.

As for "going on and on" about Jessie's great game play, possibly guilty. Consider me the balance to the anti-Jessie mob. I fully acknowledge that his "celebrity status" gave him an advantage. I would also suggest Jeff's good looks, athletic build, strong two with Jordan, and personal charm give him an advantage. He's also possibly smarter than Jessie. Maybe we should grade BB on a curve?

In the end, they all have advantages/disadvantages and they will use them well or poorly. THAT IS THE GAME! It is also a metaphor for life outside the house.

I don't know why anyone feels that I was attacking THEM when I simply engaged them in a discussion of game play. Except for my (intended) humorous exchange with Sandiek, the worst I might have said is that WE ALL view the game subjectively. And that observation was simply part of my argument for why it made sense for Russell not to target Jessie.

formerly anon said...

sizzie, totally agree. It's just like in life, "playing the game" is mostly just showing up.

No matter what anyone else claims.

IMHO.

It's like a comment that Ronnie made early on, I believe he was comparing himself to the body builders, and saying how physical attractiveness (in this case, built bodies) is effortless, while inner beauty takes hard work.

LOL! It was the biggest laugh, because 1) he doesn't even have the inner beauty he was talking about and 2) body building is NOT a passive thing that just happens to certain people, spontaneously.
