Celebrity Big Brother: Pre-Season Premiere STUFF

I'm still not sure who some of these celebrities are! For convenience, I'm listing them and their supposed claim to fame:
  • Shannon Elizabeth, age 44 - actress. (Who is she?)
  • Ross Mathews, age 38 - talk show host/Ross the Intern from Jay Leno.
  • Keshia Knight Pulliam, age 38 - actress - "Rudy" on The Cosby Show
  • Brandi Glanville, age 45 - one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills women (I never watched the show)
  • Metta World Peace (Ron Artest), age 38 - basketball coach. Have seen him on talk shows and such.
  • Ariadna Guiterrez, age 24 - Miss Universe Runner-Up, the Steve Harvey faux pas. Um, okay.
  • James Maslow, age 27 - Nickelodeon actor. I have no clue.
  • Marissa Janet Winokur, age 44 - Broadway actress
  • Mark McGrath, age 49 - singer/front man for the band Sugar Ray
  • Omarosa Manigault, age 43 - The Apprentice, recently quit Trump White House position.
  • Chuck Liddell. age 48 - "UFC Legend", mixed martial arts dude.
The show schedule is as follows:
Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Friday, Feb. 9, from 8 – 10 p.m. ET/PT
Sunday, Feb. 11, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Monday, Feb. 12, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Friday, Feb. 16, from 8 – 10 p.m. ET/PT
Sunday, Feb. 18, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Monday, Feb. 19, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Friday, Feb. 23, from 8 – 10 p.m. ET/PT
Saturday, Feb. 24, from 8 – 9 p.m. ET/PT
Sunday, Feb. 25, from 8 – 10 p.m. ET/PT (the finale)

My show coverage:
I plan on live blogging the episodes as they air on the East Coast.

What about the live feeds?
Yes, I will be posting live feeds reports. Right now the plan is twice daily.

Additional stuff --
For those on you on mobile devices, a fellow BB blogger -- Dan Murrell Jr -- has his Mutant Soup Big Brother Soup app available for Apple download at this link.  His Android app is at this link.

And, as always, I like That Dingo on Hamsterwatch. She and I have been through a lot with our BB coverage!

Over the years, the number of us covering the show has diminished. There was a time when the fan sites could make decent money with not all that much controversy. Lately it seems the show fans are taking the show as badly as the state of politics these days.

I myself used to earn good money freelancing for AOL Television, Weblogs, TV Squad (now Huffington Post) covering the show recaps and live feeds. While Dan hopefully will make money with his app (something I have no clue how to do, kudos to him!) and That Dingo will make money on CBS All Access sign-ups, I'm dependent on donations and very meager ad revenue. While I do enjoy doing this and I really enjoy this blog community, it is work to do this show. I'd appreciate any and all donations if you can make one. The donation link is on the sidebar ...

Merci!

Celebrity Big Brother Update and Stuff

Well, it seems that they're really pushing this "celebrity" version of the show -- even though I don't know half of the new house hamsters! What I saw yesterday was not the start of the live feeds, nor was it a leak. It was a planned preview. The hamsters knew it was going on, too. Hmm.

I wasn't able to flashback to either yesterday's preview nor the one they had on Friday. Sorry, but I'm not going to sit with the annoying feeds music on until they do it again. If I catch it, I catch it. If not, oh well.

Here's the gist of what I got so far:
  • One of the women is HoH
  • The women are working together
  • The guys aren't too happy about that
  • The guys think the women cheated
  • Omarosa is actually getting along with the other women
  • Ross seems to be getting along with the women
  • I think, could be wrong, that James and Chuck might be on the block
  • It seems PoV already went down, a spelling word thing
I'll be live-blogging tomorrow night's show and the actual start of the live feeds should be tomorrow at midnight (after the show airs on the west coast).

Unfortunately (for me), the live feeds won't come on until 1am here on the East Coast and I have to be up early for work in the morning. So, it's likely my first live feeds report in the morning will be slim pickings. But that will all improve as the days go on. I expect to post  live feed reports twice a day (occasionally more, rarely less), live blog all the episodes, hang in with them during endurance comps and hang out with you guys here. I do work a full time real life job, so I do not post 24/7 on every breath these hamsters take. There are other sites out there which do that! If you feel moved to do so, I do accept Paypal donations -- see the sidebar.

Hamster watchers ready?

The Amazing Race Starts TONIGHT - Casting and STUFF

It sounds like we're in for quite an amazing season this season on The Amazing Race! The website on cbs.com has the first seven minutes of the show online. Even after watching that, we're not sure of who teams up with whom. The majority of the cast seem quite strong. But we have some variations between the strengths. The bios online at the website delve into each racer. However, an awful lot is going to hinge on the partners.

Of course, a blog party with live blogging of the episode will happen tonight. I hope to see many of you there! As for the blog pool? I'd like you to all welcome this season's pool lifeguard -- Sharon C.! We should be finding out the teams tonight. Tomorrow night (Friday), I will put up a list of the teams in a blog pool sign up post with a cut-off a few days before next week's episode. We usually don't do one until after the first team is eliminated. This season we don't even know the teams yet!

The Amazing Race: Lifeguard Wanted! (And Casting ...)

Greetings, Amazing Race fans! While it seems like forever since the last season, this one sneaked up on us. The premiere is this THURSDAY night at 10pm ET. Yes, Thursday, not Friday. I like that although I'm not too keen on the late hour.

Another change is instead of teams with previous relationships racing, it's all total strangers. That should shake things up a bit!

We will have a change here on the blog -- Margo is going to sit out Lifeguard duties on the blog pool this time 'round. We don't usually kick in the pool until after the first team is out since we barely get to know them. And, this year, they won't even know themselves for the first team gone! So, we're talking about throwing together the pool by next Tuesday or so. As I post this, the cast has been announced, but not the teams. We've seen snippets on promos, but that's it.

I'd like to get a volunteer to lifeguard the pool here this season. The position entails:
  • No wages. No health insurance. No 401K.
  • But, you'll certainly have my undying gratitude!
  • And you can help yourself to the eats and drinks!
  • You can blow a whistle if you own one.
  • Randomly matching up blog readers who want in with the teams.
  • Of course, you can throw your own name in there. Randomly, mind you!
  • My name also automatically goes in.
  • Updating the pool as teams get eliminated.
I would definitely prefer that the volunteer is someone who has been a regular commenter on the blog and has taken part in previous blog pools. But, other than that, you don't even have to have your summer body for a bathing suit! I will accept the first person who replies to this post and meets my strict criteria listed above for this lofty but not lucrative position.
😸

BBOTT: Will Post Cast Reveal Late Tonight!

While the voting to get Jason back in the house instead of Jozea (yeah, I'm just a tad biased here) continues into tomorrow, Tuesday, September 27, the cast reveal for the rest of the hamsters will be today.

Unfortunately for me, instead of the 10am ET reveal listed by several websites, it appears it will be 10am PT.

Grr.

I won't be able to post the new cast until very late this evening. My apologies in advance, but I do have to work for a living!

Thursday, September 22, 2016

The Scoop on Big Brother Over the Top (BBOTT)

Please vote Jason, not Jozea. Thank you.

The first thing I'd like to address is the voting of a "veteran" player into the cast. I have no clue what CBS has been smoking to even think that we want to see Jozea again! Please, if you have CBS All Access, throw your votes to Jason on the CBS website. Most of us will be eternally grateful.

That said ...
Last night I watched most of the backyard interviews on the live feeds. But I was a bit too burnt out from the long (Survivor premiere, BB18 finale) live-blogging night to write more on them on the time. An unusual interview, a person I've never seen in the backyard interviews, was Julie Chen. Of course, she showed to plug BBOTT.

Here's what I garnered from her interview and some scouting about:
  • There will be 12 brand spanking new hamsters and one (JASON) returning hamster for a total of 13.
  • Everything will ONLY be through CBS All Access online -- NO television aired shows, etc.
  • It's to be a shortened season -- 10 weeks.
  • The cast reveal will be Monday morning and I should be able to cover it as long as the reveal happens when it should (around 10am ET).
  • There will be Julie Chen hosted weekly eviction shows at 7pm PT or 10pm ET on Wednesday evenings. 11pm ET would be the live eviction with the HoH comps starting a midnight ET. Eek! I'll try my best to do what I can with those!
  • Julie Chen will be doing the evicted hamster interviews on Thursday.
  • The Veto comps should be Mondays at 4pm ET (which I won't be able to cover live here).
  • The Veto ceremony should be Tuesdays at 4pm ET (which I also won't be able to cover live here).
  • They have live Diary Rooms on Tuesday and Friday nights at 10:30pm ET.
  • On Saturdays, at 4pm ET, the Have Not Reveal
  • On Saturdays, at 10pm ET, there's a new "Safety Ceremony." From what Julie said, if you don't get safety there, you get nominated. Not YOU literally. That's a figurative YOU.
  • Then, just to confuse things more, there's a Safety Ceremony and Nominations Sunday night at 10pm ET.
I'm SO confused! There's some conflicting information out there right now. I will definitely be doing some kind of coverage of the season. But until the show goes live, I'm not sure exactly how I'll be covering it. However, I will promise to post something daily so that the blog readers with CBS have a place to discuss things daily.

Survivor 33: Millennials vs Gen-Ex - Blog Pool Match-Ups Announced!

Lifeguard Laurie has worked her mojo once again and came up the random matches for the blog pool! Yay, Laurie! And, we believe we have a record number of participants, too! Fifty people asked in for the season. We can only hope that might be an omen for a great season ahead of us!

As is our standard practice -- the blog people who have the honor of being chosen for the person who ends up the first boot of the season will get reassigned to someone else. After all, we never really get to know that first castaway out!

Survivor 33: Millennials vs. Gen-X Blog Pool OPENS!

Survivor fans ready? The wonderful Lifeguard Laurie will be running the blog pool once again. Have I ever mentioned how much she rocks?

The season premiere is next Wednesday, September 21 at 8pm ET/PT leading into the 90-minute BB18 season finale. I recently posted a bit about the upcoming castaways and Jeff Probt's cast assessment -- you can find those by going here.

Join the fun with friends at the blog party as the show airs on East Coast time on premiere night!

Okay, here's how the blog pool works:

  • Names are matched up randomly with the castaways.
  • You get to cheer on your chosen castaway until they're kicked off the island or named the sole Survivor.
  • If your chosen castaway is creepy or cries a lot, we won't hold that against you personally.
  • Not much, anyway.
  • Heehee
  • There is no wagering of monies.
  • The winner(s) of the blog pool retain bragging rights until the premiere of the next season while we all bow to them and lament on what could have been.
How do you get involved? Sign up right here on this post! If you're posting anonymously, you need a sign off name on your comments. We don't care if you're a boy named Sue, we have to know something other than anonymous. The cut-off for entering is this Monday evening, September 19, 9pm ET/6pm PT.

REMEMBER - YOU NEED TO SIGN UP ON THIS VERY POST YOU'RE READING! If you sign up on another post or the Facebook page, your request might be missed.

BB18: Live Feeds Off Until Tuesday Night

Well, not quite RIGHT back.

The BB18 live feeds have been blocked since the hamsters were awakened this morning.

They set them up with the arts and crafts so they have something to air on BBAD.

Today, they should be filming the Victor eviction, HoH and nominations for the Tuesday (not live) show. The banner atop the live feeds say they will be back up at 10pm PT tomorrow (translated to 1am for me), an hour after the show ends on the West Coast.

Grr.

In the meantime, I'm posting the upcoming Survivor information and will be posting the blog pool sign-up post tomorrow.

Stay tuned.
