Good evening, Survivor fans!

The Amazing Race is on at 9PM EDT, a separate post for that show will magically appear a few minutes before the end of this show.

As for Survivor, I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Cody       Cheryl in NC, ChicMc
Noelle     MikesGirl, Tammy
Jesse       AprilW, Donna in AL
Dwight    Petals, Skyriverblue
Cassidy     Cherrypie, Kelsey NY
Karla       Glenn Allen, monty924
Gabler     Donna in FL, Joanne Victoria
Owen    Mike Barer, SueGee
Sami      Brenda, Indiana Jane

Jury
Jeanine
James
Ryan

Survivor fans ready?

We start with them coming back from the Tribals. Karla voted with the crowd only because Sami told her the plan. She feels left out and is worried. Cassidy is thrilled James went home. Jesse feels comfortable and has two idols. He thinks Sami is overplaying. He feels great about where he's at. Huh. Over-confidence has sent many a castaway packing.

We start with a Reward Challenge. They spin themselves dizzy to draw a sandbag towards them, obstacle course, balance beam, throw sandbag atop a small platform on a pole. Reward is a feast and an overnight at Sanctuary ... and even beer.

Cassidy then Karla are the first ones through to throw their sandbags. All are now throwing sandbags. NOELLE wins after having real troubles with her leg and the obstacle course! Her leg had fallen off at the end -- the suction let go.

She also gets letters from home as well as whoever goes with her. She can choose on other -- Sami. One more -- Jesse. One more -- Owen. Ah, the letters are from several people -- Owen got ones from his mother, father and girlfriend. Lots of tears. Jesse is crying reading the letter from his wife.

Hmm ... someone should be keeping an eye out for an idol. Sami says he would like Cassidy out. Owen suggests splitting the vote between Cassidy and Karla in case Karla has an idol.

Back at camp, Cody is definitely leery about what's going on with the Reward people. They talk about Sami, Noelle and Owen. Cody thinks Owen is the new Dwight. Cassidy wants to get Gabler to get on board with her. Cassidy and Karla want him to work with them. He feels others at Reward also are on his side.

Immunity Challenge time. One hand steady a balancing board, other hand builds house of cards. First house to reach a red arrow marker wins. The cards are not playing cards. They sound ceramic. They're all falling all the time.

CASSIDY WINS IMMUNITY!

Day 19 and the ocean looks great! Noelle tells us they need to come up with a new backup. Noelle feels she can't trust Sami. She's thinking they can probably still vote out Karla. Jesse emotionally wants to keep Noelle but thinks she is the strongest competitor. He talks to Cody.

Jesse has a plan and is using cover stories. He wants Noelle to go and talks to Sami to make him a fall guy for targeting Noelle. He tells Noelle that the vote will split between Karla and Sami. He tells Karla the vote will split between Noelle and Sami. Then he talks to Gabler about blindsiding Noelle. Gabler wants to think on it. Okay, Gabler tells him he will vote Noelle tonight.

Gabler goes to Karla and tells her that Jesse and Cody are running the show. Hmm.

Tribal Council time. Time for Jeff's Probsting questions. He brings up the Reward Challenge and Noelle's amazing efforts. She says she hopes to be an example. Jesse is questioned about his time at Sanctuary. Gabler gets to compare what's happening compared to surgery. Now they're comparing each other to assassins.

They vote. Owen votes Karla, Jesse votes Noelle. That's all we see.

The tally -- Karla, Noelle, Sami, Karla, Noelle, Noelle, Noelle.

I hate to see Noelle go but I actually do think that no one would win against her at the end. It was a smart decision.

The Amazing Race 34: 'Vamos a la Playa' Episode Blog Party - November 16

My apologies for the non-blog last week. I'm actually still in the same predicament. The television I ordered mysteriously got lost in transit and its replacement hasn't arrived. I was thinking I could stream tonight's TV shows on my old tablet, but no go. It's too old for streaming, I guess. So, I'm doing this split-screen on my desktop computer tonight. Please bear with me!

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area -- I hope to see you there!

The Wonderful Lifeguard SueGee updated the blog pool for us. Are you still in it to win it? Last week Derek and Claire came in first place!

Aubrey & David -- Donna in FL, Dr Celine, Skyriverblue
Derek & Claire -- Beachbound Gmom, ChicMc, Donna NY
Emily & Molly -- Joanne Victoria, Judi Sweeney, Sharon N
Luis & Michelle -- Andi, Mikes Girl, RJMnSC
Marcus & Michael -- Brenda, Chrob61, Nickelpeed

PHILIMINATED
Aastha & Nina
Tim & Rex
Rich & Dom
Linton & Sharik
Abby & Will (Covid)
Glenda & Lumumba
Quinton & Mattie

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

We start off with a recap and Quinton/Maddie getting Philiminated. All teams are headed to Spain. It's another mega-leg with two Roadblocks and two Detours.

Claire thinks they don't want to get lost or burn out. Aubrey and David are starting off with them.

Roadblock - Who will master the pieces? Recreate a Picasso masterpiece puzzle style. They are at the birthplace of Picasso. The second group is off and running. Emily is having a real problem with her sore knee. That's a shame -- they have been a great team! Uh-oh, she chooses to do the Roadblock not realizing how physical it is because the pieces are so heavy.

CLAIRE finishes first and Derek shouts that he loves her. They are off to a port to get the next clue. They get bikes to go. Derek talks about all the things he's crashed. Eep! Aubrey finishes next. Then Michelle.

Detour - Fish Fry -- speared fish over an open flame in a boat. Teams must do a certain amount.  Sailboat Supply - deliver a large ice filled cooler to a yacht via paddleboard. Derek/Claire go for fish fry. Emily finishes up the Picasso so it's only Marcus/Michael left.

Marcus/Michael finally out of Picasso. Emily/Molly got a bit lost. Derek/Claire help out Aubrey/David at the fish with Derek saving them from the fatal flaw of not salting it. Claire says they will help them until they can't anymore. Derek/Claire through first heading to the MegaLeg. Michelle/Luis finish up the paddleboard. Aubrey/David finish the fish.

The fish have just Emily/Molly and Marcus/Michael left competing.

The show ends at that point with a TO BE CONTINUED.

Survivor fans ready?

We open with them returning from Tribal. Sami wants to shake the game up and pick off the people at the top. He talks to Owen. Owen is upset with James as he told him they were sticking with the Ryan vote. Gabler is the one who told him otherwise. After all, James is not the Godfather, dude.

James is trying to work others against Owen. He does seem to think he's the Godfather after all.

We're right into the Immunity Challenge. Two teams of five, separate Tribal Councils. The last person standing wins reward -- PB&J for their team and they get to go to Tribal second. Two going home tonight. Red/blue.

They have to lift up a handle to keep a ball above them trapped. Ball comes down, so do they. Jesse out first for red. Cassidy out for red. Noelle out for blue. James out for blue. Gabler out for red. Owen out for blue. Sami out for blue.

KARLA wins Immunity for Blue! She did it with a stitched-up finger even.

Karla out, so Red will win the reward. It's Ryan and Cody up still for Red. Ryan out.

CODY wins Immunity for Red as well as the Reward!

Blue goes back to the beach where they decide who will go home. Red goes back to camp to enjoy the PB&J.

At camp Ryan tells Gabler it's Cass tonight. They talk to Cody. Cody tells Cassidy that it's Ryan being voted out.

At the Vesi camp, Karla wants to vote out Owen with her ally James. Noelle talks to Sami about the Owen vote, too. I personally wouldn't mind if James went -- his voice always sounds like he has marbles in the back of his throat! Owen tries to confront James in front of the rest of the team because James is putting on a rather big jerk act. I don't know. If they keep focusing on Owen going in the edit, he just might not.

Day 17. The Red vote still seems to be between Ryan and Cassidy. Cody and Jesse are trying to figure out what ties the two have with others. They know James would want Ryan out. Cody likes Gabler, so wants to recruit him into his way of thinking. Gabler is finally finding a home! They figure Owen or Cassidy will go from Blue.

Noelle would prefer James go. She wants to make a big move. She is thinking of using her Steal a Vote advantage. Sami, Noelle and Owen want to vote out James. Woot! Uh-oh ... Sami is allied with Karla and gives her the idea they should vote James out.

Night 17 and Blue settles in at Tribal. Jeff recaps. They had no rice, etc. James says there was frustration at the beach. Sami talks about James and Owen having a heated discussion. Yes, there was yelling.

Noelle uses her advantage Steal a Vote. She steals Owen's vote. She gets two votes.

The tally -- Owen, James, James, James ... three is enough. Bye, James! He is sarcastic and tells them "see how far you get now."

The Red Team comes into Tribal. They see that James is on the jury with Jeanine. Jesse seems a bit shocked -- he knows James had the Knowledge is Power advantage. To their own questions, Cassidy loved the PB&J but the evil eviction is back. Ryan says the voting in a small group is a lot scarier.

Time to vote. Ryan votes Cassidy. Cassidy votes Ryan. And, that's all we see.

The tally -- Cassidy, Ryan, Ryan, Ryan ... there goes my pool pick. He tells them they will go hungry now. Unlike James, he really did keep them in food with his fishing.

Live-Blogging Television Update

Okay, my latest television (or lack thereof) update. The power cable fix was not a fix. I will be returning that to Amazon. I looked at all kinds of websites -- Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. -- and ended up re-ordering the same television as the one that got lost in transit from Amazon. Only Walmart was selling the same television.

While I could have it delivered much sooner from Walmart, they want $90 more for it. So, back to Amazon. I made sure to select that the option to put the TV box in a regular Amazon box for shipping. Hopefully, that will make disappearing in transit less likely.

I saw others, cheaper even, but not quite what I wanted. I like the one I like because it's an Android television which comes with a voice remote, Google Assistant built-in, Chromecast built in. I can cast movies and shows on the TV from my Samsung phone or even my tablet if I get that up to snuff and I can load all my streaming kind of stuff, even my Xfinity cable site where I can stream live television and a plethora of back episodes on them, thus to the television. I would be able to hook up my computer to the television with HDMI, but cable placement would be awkward. Oh, and of course, it's Wi-Fi. Plus, it has the tuner in it that if I decide to cut the cable TV cord, I could get over the air channels on an antenna.

While they say you could control your home's smart technology over the television itself, that's not a selling point for me. I guess I live in a dumb apartment. My only "smart" tech I own is my smartphone.

Since the delivery date is Friday, I once again won't have it on Wednesday for live blogging 'Survivor' and 'The Amazing Race.' I can't watch it from my larger TV in the other room because it's not in my sight view. I can't stream it on my desktop computer and blog at the same time -- I suppose I could figure out some sort of split screen or picture in a smaller window, but no. My phone is too small to really work out with blogging at the same time. My fix this week will be finding the charger for my tablet, then putting either Xfinity site or my Paramount + on it and setting that up nearby. It's not a huge tablet, but better than the phone.

On a sidenote: The tablet, like the now dead television, was a freebie work anniversary gift out of a catalogue. I think it was my 2016 gift. I didn't have Wi-Fi at the time, so it was basically unused. It was in a package with Bluetooth headphones, a charging pack and a few other things. I kind of miss getting cool free stuff every five years!

So, that's where I stand (or sit) with my television Tales of Tragedy.

Survivor 43: Episode 8 Blog Non-Party PLUS The Amazing Race 34 Non-Party - November 9

Folks, my apologies. I'm having technical difficulties with a dead television and a new one somehow delayed in transit (or stolen). I blog on my desktop computer with the now-dead TV nearby. I experimented with streaming on my phone and I just can't put it anywhere where I can see it clearly and it's not in the way of my keyboard.

So, I will be passing on blogging both shows tonight. All should be resolved by next week. Feel free to party in the comments, though.

The Amazing Race 34: 'It's Simply Medieval' Episode Blog Party - November 2

Yes! Yes! The Real Love Boat has been moved to only stream online on Paramount + and TAR has been moved up an hour earlier, directly following Survivor. While it will make me have to sit and blog two hours in a row, that's better than it starting as late as it has been.

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area -- I hope to see you there!

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

We get a recap. Then Phil tells us the teams are flying from Jordan to the south of France. The teams start off in groups separated by fifteen minutes to start. The first group is having trouble finding the chateau they need for their next clue.

Grr. Derek is telling teams to follow them. He tells Claire (who is not happy that he's telling them to follow) that if they get lost, all the teams following them will also be lost. Um. Okay.

Lumumba/Glenda, the last from the last leg, leave all alone last for this leg.

Luis/Michelle first to the Roadblock. Who wants to climb the family tree? Rappelling to see five names for five family crests. Memorizing the information with 100s of names at hand in the beginning.

Michelle makes it through then Roadblock first and she and Luis are driving to the next clue.

Eep! Glenda tried to turn around their vehicle because they were heading the wrong way. The vehicle fell into a ditch. They cannot afford to lose any time -- they are forty-five minutes behind the first group! A neighbor pulls them out with a tractor.

Meanwhile, Mattie is the next one completing the Roadblock. Then Emily. Then Derek. Marcus/Michael through but Michael left his keys and they have to go back for them.

Marcus/Michael to clue for Detour first. Walnut Cracker - crush walnuts, walnut oil to fill container. Medieval Gamer -- playing with knives and win three games. More and more teams are arriving. Lumumba and Glenda made it through the Roadblock and are on their way.

Michael/Marcus make it first through the Detour and are heading to the Pit Stop. Derek/Claire finish the games and they are second to head towards the Pit Stop. Other teams are finishing the walnuts.

David/Aubrey crumbling as they head towards the Roadblock. Lumumba/Glenda doing well at the games and don't fight no matter how far behind they are. All the teams heading to the Pit Stop are having issues getting there.

Pit Stop Order

1. Michael/Marcus - won $7,500
2. Emily/Molly
3. Derek/Claire
4. Luis/Michelle
5. Quinton/Mattie
6. Aubrey/David
7. Glenda/Lumumba -- Philiminated

I figured they wouldn't win, but they were a joy to watch.

Survivor 43: Episode 7 Blog Party - November 2

Good evening, Survivor fans!

The Amazing Race is on at 9PM EDT tonight -- The Real Love Boat has been moved to just streaming on Paramount Plus -- and a separate blog entry will be up for that. Yes! That later hour was killing it here on the blog. Although I'm not all that thrilled blogging two hours in a row, it's better than the later hour. A separate post for that show will magically appear a few minutes before the end of this show!

As for Survivor, I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

They're messing with our heads. The merge isn't really the merge or it's an incomplete merge. Whichever castaway it was that put it as Merge-atory definitely had it right!

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Survivor fans ready?

We watch Elie's torch get snuffed again. Jeanine was completely blindsided. She's trying to convince others that it's the best for her game that Elie got voted out.

Hmm ... they all seem dressed as if for late fall, if not winter. It must be cold there. And then we see Owen with practically nothing on. Gabler is still on the outs with people but now his idol has expired.

Tree mail time! It tells them they need to split into six pairs to compete in the Immunity Challenge. No one really wants to publicly pick partners which would expose alliances and such. So, they make their own version of selecting rocks to decide teams.

Already to the challenge time. Day 14. They tell Jeff they pulled rocks. Challenge run in three stages. Have to make the cut to move on. Last two pairs in first stage out. Stage two, first two pairs move on to the final stage. Final stage is an individual game, last person left standing wins immunity.

First stage - through a rope net tunnel in mud. They have to roll to unwind it. Then they dig for planks. Noelle and Jeanine (separate duos) are both stuck in the "tunnel." Noelle even took her leg off trying to get through.

Second stage - Taking planks up net incline, use the planks to cross rope bridge, then slide down ramp.

Cody/Dwight and Gabler/Owen make it to the final stage. It's an endurance comp with them holding a bar with a quarter of their body weight to keep a bucket hanging. Dwight out first. Owen out.

Gabler is dedicating each minute to things/people such as Noelle, war heroes, Idaho, his dog, etc. They are now at 38 minutes when the longest previous record for the challenge is 25 minutes.

GABLER WINS THE FIRST INDIVIDUAL IMMUNITY!

Gabler tells us he is playing for veterans who are suffering from trauma and PTSD.

Most of them have no idea who might be going up. Dwight, in front of Sami and James, finds an advantage. Word gets around. He gives it to James. The others think James got the advantage and now his name seems the most popular for the vote. Cody tells Jesse they should take out Dwight to weaken Noelle.

James's advantage is the Knowledge is Power one - the one where you ask someone if they have an idol, and they must tell the truth. Then you steal the idol. They all still think James has it. Noelle gives her Steal a Vote to Owen, so she won't lose it to James. Or Dwight.

They are heading off to Tribal. And we're heading off to a commercial. Make that commercials ... several of them.

Jeff tells them the challenge was built to make them each work for each stage. He asks them about previous tribe lines. Jeff asks many of them about how confident they are they will be staying tonight. All seem to be confident, yet we know someone will leave!

James, Dwight, Ryan, James, Dwight, Ryan, Ryan, Dwight, Dwight, Dwight, Dwight ... that's enough to vote him out.

Bye, Dwight! He apparently has Jeanine's idol which she gave to him to avoid the questioning.

The Amazing Race 34: 'Step by Step' Episode Blog Party - October 26

The teams remain Jordan and I'm once again out of my own blog pool early! Now, since the start I've had a soft spot for Derek and Claire, so I will cheer them on!

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

We get a Previously On segment. I see my blog pool pick team get Philiminated once again.

Teams are in the capitol of Jordan and will face a second leg there. Abby and Will are gone. GAH! A positive Covid test and they have been Philiminated. They both look fine (on video) but ...

All teams leave together. No elimination this leg because someone is already gone. However, the order they arrive at the Pit Stop dictates the order they leave for the next leg with four groups, one team leaving 45 minutes after the first group.

They get their clues inside the Citadel. It directs them to go to a bookstore. But they have to find the bookstore! With Molly/Emily, the leg injury one had last leg might be an issue. All the teams seem to be on the lost side looking for the bookstore.

Detour is their clue. Step by Step, learn a dance dressed up in native clothes. Letter by Letter has them memorizing the Arabic alphabet and reciting it.

Michael and Marcus get through the alphabet first.

Roadblock - Who's feeling broken-carted? One team member has to build a cart and deliver. Michael/Marcus are having a problem finding the park. All the other teams are still at one or the other detour. Emily/Molly make it through the alphabet first and are now on their way to the Roadblock.

Derek can't roll his Rs. Claire helps him. Aubrey and David make it through the dancing. Then Luis/Michelle make it through dancing. Derek/Claire make it through the alphabet. Lumumba and Glenda are still trying make it through dancing. Now all the other teams have hit the Roadblock. FINALLY, they pass the dancing!

Luis/Michelle finish the building of the cart first. They have to wheel their cart to Phil at a ruins site. They already lost a wheel and the cart is falling apart. They have to stop and fix it. David/Aubrey pass them by with their cart.

Pit Stop order:

1. Luis/Michelle - Won reward points for a five night trip to Barcelona
2. Aubrey/David
3. Quinton/Mattie
4. Derek/Claire
5. Michael/Marcus
6. Molly/Emily
7. Lumumba/Glenda - will leave last for the next leg.

Survivor 43: Episode 6 Blog Party - October 26

Good evening, Survivor fans!

The Amazing Race is later tonight at 10PM EDT and a separate blog entry will be up for that.

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

Promos tell us that tonight's the merge. Now, that means that they should be looking for big threats to get out of the game rather than just keeping their tribe safe. I guess we'll see!

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Vesi Tribe (Red)
Cody       Cheryl in NC, ChicMc

Survivor fans ready?

Coco Day 12, tree mail. They are to drop their buffs and the game is about to change. Ryan thinks it's the perfect time and now he's a free agent. Baka and Coco are heading to the Vesi camp with supplies.

Noelle is worried about what's next -- it's not a typical merge and they have no new buffs. Dwight is trying to figure out who has what idol-wise, no votes, etc. Elie figures out Cody has an idol because someone said he collected all the beads from his camp.

Day 13. Jeff is at a challenge set-up. He takes back the tribal idols. No need for them anymore. He tells them they are at the threshold of the merge. Two teams of six, one extra person, gray rock does not compete but chooses a team to "ride or die" with. Red and blue rocks. Noelle has the grey one. If she chooses the team that wins, she's safe. Wrong pick and she's vulnerable.

Get 20 sandbags on their platform -- they have to dig them up and move them, get sled, move crates onto sled, move along to next station. Build a puzzle staircase out of the crates. Climb up to untie ring of keys. Up ramp with rope net top. Solve puzzle. Karla is bleeding; her blue team is behind. Meanwhile, Noelle chose blue! Blue is doing well on the puzzle.

They earned their spot in the merge! Jesse, Dwight, Jeanine, Karla, Gabler, Ryan and one more all safe tonight. All will vote, though. Heh -- one put it as Mergeatory. Perfect!

Separate groups are talking James or Cody out. It doesn't look good for Cody. While all of them are scheming against each other, the other six have the merge feast. Ryan wants them to be in an alliance. No go with many of them. Gabler tells them Elie went through his bag. Most have someone already in mind. It will probably be a very split vote.

Merge Tribe Day 13- Cody thinks he might not need to use his idol. Elie was told that Gabler told all that she searched his bag when it was Jeanine. She won't tell him who did it. She goes to Sami and tells him that he and James told Gabler she did it. She wants him to help her clear her name. Jeanine is upset that Gabler is saying she has an idol. James is going around quizzing people. It sounds like Elie is the biggest target. Will Jeanine play her idol for her? Hmm.

Tribal Council time. All showed up, with the seven wearing buffs. Chaos and disorganization are brought up. Jeff brings up that it's complicated. Well, duh. Elie says she felt very panicked. Talk of idols and advantages. They're spreading this out. Will the vote even be done tonight?

Ah, time to vote. Dwight votes Elie. No surprise there.

The tally -- Elie, James, Owen, Cassidy, James, Elie, Elie, Elie, Elie ... she's out. Jeanine did not use her idol to save her. Jeanine seems shocked.

The Amazing Race 34: 'The Amazing Race of Arabia' Episode Blog Party - Oct. 19

Last week finished up a two-episode double leg. This week they head to a new country. Woot!

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area -- I hope to see you there!

The Wonderful Lifeguard SueGee updated the blog pool for last week and it's still good this week! Cool! Who's your team?

Abby & Will -- Jasonuwp, Krysta Gibson, Marthalight
Aubrey & David -- Donna in FL, Dr Celine, Skyriverblue
Derek & Claire -- Beachbound Gmom, ChicMc, Donna NY
Emily & Molly -- Joanne Victoria, Judi Sweeney, Sharon N
Glenda & Lumumba -- Glenn Allen, Indiana Jane, Petals
Luis & Michelle -- Andi, Mikes Girl, RJMnSC
Linton & Sharik -- Cheryl in NC, Jackie, Willie J
Marcus & Michael -- Brenda, Chrob61, Nickelpeed
Quinton & Mattie -- Donna in Alabama, monty924, Sharon C

PHILIMINATED
Aastha & Nina
Tim & Rex
Rich & Dom

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

The teams are flying to the Kingdom of Jordan, a first for the show. They are taking a steam train in the desert. Uh-oh, men on both horseback and camelback coming at them with swords! They ride up to them, then one hands out clues to each team, wishing each team good luck before they take off once again.

They have to get in cars with a driver. They're wearing masks as are their drivers. I think Covid, but it should also help with dust. Ah, they take them off outside the cars. Covid.

Roadblock: Who wants to test their metal? Search for movie spaceship debris buried in the sand with a metal detector.

They will go to the City of Petra. Michael/Marcus are in the lead. Unfortunately, my personal favorites -- Derek/Claire -- and my blog pool pick -- Sharik/Linton -- are in the third and last group. The groups are fifteen minutes apart. Now Sharik/Linton are the last team searching for the Petra clue.

The teams are running through Petra to get the next clue. Detour - Camel Caravan -- Hungry camels need their hay and water. Palace Puzzle -- what the carved cliff art looked like five thousand years ago slide puzzle.

Luis/Michelle and Derek/Claire get the puzzle done first and second. Michael/Marcus rue their choice of the camels, realizing it's a difficult physical task in the heat. It's off to the Pit Stop next. Linton foolishly chooses the camels when they are the last team arriving at the Detour. Aubrey and David are having problems with the puzzle ... but it could be for editing effect. I think I will probably be out of the blog pool tonight! Sure enough, they show the two teams finishing their tasks and heading towards the Pit Stop around the same time.

Pit Stop

1. Luis/Michelle - Won $5,000
2. Derek/Claire
3. Marcus/Michael
4. Abby/Will
5. Emily/Molly
6. Quinton/Mattie
7. Lumumba/Glenda
8. Aubrey/David
9. Linton/Sharik -- Philiminated

My blog pool pick team is out. Long live Derek and Claire!

Survivor 43: Episode 5 Blog Party - October 19

Good evening, Survivor fans!

The Amazing Race is later tonight at 10PM EDT and a separate blog entry will be up for that.

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

So far, we have FOUR women voted out! Don't you think it's time for a dude to have his torch snuffed?

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Vesi Tribe (Red)
Cody       Cheryl in NC, ChicMc
Noelle     MikesGirl, Tammy
Jesse       AprilW, Donna in AL
Dwight    Petals, Skyriverblue,

Coco Tribe (Blue)
Cassidy     Cherrypie, Kelsey NY,
Geo        Jasonuwp, Dr Celine
Karla       Glenn Allen, monty924
James     DonnaNY, Krysta Gibson
Ryan       John Cantrell, Jackie

Baka Tribe (Yellow)
Gabler     Donna in FL, Joanne Victoria
Owen    Mike Barer, SueGee
Sami      Brenda, Indiana Jane
Elie         Nickelpeed, Nora M
Jeanine     Laura, Auntie Leigh

Snuffed Out
Morriah
Justine
Nneka
Lindsay

Survivor fans ready?

We start with Day 9 at Coco ... actually night. They are returning from Tribal. Cassidy knows the vote for her was from either Geo or Ryan. Geo pretty much blamed Ryan although admitting he voted for her. Cassidy says that both of the men think they're running the tribe, but aren't.

Baka Day 10 -- Searching for hidden idols. Elie and Jeanine are hunting. Jeanine finds the Beware Advantage which happens to be covered in ants. Elie convinces her that they could do what they want without her vote. So, she opens the advantage. It's the same bead collection advantage we saw with the other two tribes. Owen catches them looking at it and they pretty much have to show it to him. Now he's thinking he might want to align with them. Elie tells Sami.

After Jeanine gets all the beads, Sami tells Gabler -- the one she's bound to target. Due to having all the beads, she now has an immunity idol.

Day 11 we have the Immunity Challenge. Four tied together, through stick obstacles, more obstacles, bucket of water, teeter-totter, fill bucket at end, go back for more water, gate falls when bucket is full, roll balls up a ramp, three must remain at top. Reward is large tarp for first, smaller tarp for second. Karla sits out and Gabler sits out.

VESI wins Immunity! Baka wins second Immunity! Unfortunately, Ryan had knocked his balls off the top rung and blew it for his tribe. He tells us he did it on purpose because he wants to vote out Cassidy.

Vesi picks Geo and Jeanine to go on a "journey." Jesse goes from Vesi.

Coco Day 11. Ryan apologizes for losing the challenge. He wants Cassidy to think he's going home. James thinks they should take out Ryan. Ryan is clueless that he might be the target. Meanwhile, all the women see right through him.

The chosen three are on a boat to an island ... oops, went by the island. They end up on a boat which they have to row to the island. They have the same Risk/No Risk opportunity as the others had. All three Risked it.

Back to camp, Jesse tells us there's no use lying to them. He opens his shell in front of all. He lost his vote and now they all know it.

Jeanine opens hers alone. She lost her vote, too. She tells them she risked it and then "opens" it in front of them.

Geo tells Karla what happened. He got an advantage -- he can ask someone if they have an idol or advantage and they cannot lie to him. While everything is going on, Cassidy is getting paranoid much like Lindsay did last week.

Tribal Council time! Jeff asks Cassidy if she feels momentum. She said it was a bit lost but can come back. Ryan says the challenge started with momentum, but he dropped the ball. Jeff keeps asking questions about Ryan throwing himself on the sword and being the easy vote.

Geo votes Cassidy.

The tally: Cassidy, Cassidy, Geo, Geo, Geo. Goodbye, Geo.

He's shocked. Karla keeps whispering she's sorry while James looks a bit smug.

The Amazing Race 34: 'Everyone's an Artist' Episode Blog Party

Last week was NOT a non-Philimination despite the fact that no one went home. This week is a continuation of that second leg. Apparently, that's how they are going to fill out the season without elimination legs thrown in. Um. Okay.

Marcus & Michael -- Brenda, Chrob61, Nickelpeed
Quinton & Mattie -- Donna in Alabama, monty924, Sharon C
Rich & Dom -- David, Kelsey NY, Nora M, Sue

PHILIMINATED
Aastha & Nina - No one was assigned to this first gone team.
Tim & Rex

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

Two Detours, two Roadblocks, two cities. And we've only finished the first ones. Well, they. And, not all of they.

The second city in Florence, Italy. Marcus and Michael are in the lead heading to the second half of the mega-leg.

Marcus/Michael have found the first clue and are followed immediately by sisters Emily/Molly. Roadblock - who wants a chiseled body? Use tools, chisel out a block to reveal a sculpture hidden inside, it will be inspected. Luis/Michelle arrive to the Roadblock next. Then Linton/Sharik - this is the first Roadblock she has done. Abby/Will next. Quinton/Mattie. Aubrey/David. Derek/Claire.

Rich and Dom are once again not doing well. I'm really getting a poor opinion of Dom -- she picked on Rich's driving, whined about her bag and is flipping out at the Roadblock. Lumumba/Glenda beat them to the Roadblock.

The sisters get the next clue first. Detour. Eye for Fashion, find three fashion shoots, see sketches, match. Or Window of Opportunity - pick up three things for diners from windows throughout the city.

Dom thinks she could take a four-hour penalty instead of doing the sculpture. She keeps saying it's not her and she can't do it. @@ D'oh! NOW she reads the clue and realizes it doesn't take art talent!

The sisters and brothers teams end up together at one fashion shoot. The girls seem much more comfortable with the Detour.

Sharik is ready to give up. Oh, NOES! They are my blog pool team! Linton hopefully will talk some sense into his daughter. Linton tells us that they are not quitters! She's acting like a spoiled brat.

Lumumba/Glenda finish the Roadblock leaving just Dom/Rich there. Oh, well. I don't think either team will win, but like Lumumba and Glenda's enthusiasm and drive more.

The brothers Michael and Marcus are on the way to the Pit Stop following the girls.

The Pit Stop order:

1. Emily/Molly - won Expedia trip to Australia.
2. Marcus/Michael
3. Abby/Will
4. Luis/Michelle
5. Quinton/Mattie
6. Aubrey/David
7. Derek/Claire
8. Glenda/Lumumba
9. Linton/Sharik - she whines she wants to go home. Phil gives them a choice. Linton wants to carry on, so she stays.
10. Rich/Dom - Philiminated.

Survivor 43: 4th Episode Blog Party - October 12

Good evening, Survivor fans!

The Amazing Race is after this show later tonight at 10PM EDT and a separate blog entry will be up for that. So, I will have an hour's rest between blogging shows tonight. Cool!

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

This is getting interesting -- at this point the Vesi tribe is down to four and cannot afford to lose another member. Coco is still standing at full strength while Baka is down one member. I would think something should be happening soon to shake up the tribes even though it's too early for a merge.

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Vesi Tribe (Red)
Cody       Cheryl in NC, ChicMc
Noelle     MikesGirl, Tammy
Jesse       AprilW, Donna in AL
Dwight    Petals, Skyriverblue,

Coco Tribe (Blue)
Lindsay     David, Marthalight,
Cassidy     Cherrypie, Kelsey NY,
Geo        Jasonuwp, Dr Celine
Karla       Glenn Allen, monty924
James     DonnaNY, Krysta Gibson
Ryan       John Cantrell, Jackie

Baka Tribe (Yellow)
Gabler     Donna in FL, Joanne Victoria
Owen    Mike Barer, SueGee
Sami      Brenda, Indiana Jane
Elie         Nickelpeed, Nora M
Jeanine     Laura, Auntie Leigh

Snuffed Out
Morriah
Justine
Nneka

Survivor fans ready?

It was a dark stormy night. Noelle is thanking the others for keeping her over Nneka. Cody, of course, is the most vocal about them being dead last.

Over on Baka, Gabler is putting palm fronds on people for protection? Hmm. He's getting on Elie's nerves. If he keeps telling others how to make a fire when they are already making fire. Gabler knows Elie went through his bag.

Right to a challenge already. It's for Reward. Knocking blocks off ledge with sandbags, one walks on the blocks, others throw sandbags on swing platforms.  Playing for ten fresh fish delivered to camp, can go to one other camp and steal an item. Ryan is doing poorly for Coco.

VESI ACTUALLY WINS!!!

Since they have no flint, the fish isn't a great reward. They are not allowed to steal the other camp's flint. So, they trade the reward for fruit.

Cody volunteers to go. Cody thinks they should go for fishing gear. Meanwhile, the other two tribes are worried that they will be raided. Baka thinks Coco should be raided because they have a full tribe and more winnings.

Cody heads off and does indeed hit Coco. He tells them he wants to steal their machete. They try to negotiate and offer him food. He ended up with some fishing gear and food, more than he originally sought. But they did keep their machete.

Immunity Challenge time. Race to knock off heavy sandbags looking for a keyring with one key on it, unlock a huge net, take puzzle pieces under the net -- four pieces. Untie the puzzle piece bags. Two players do puzzle.

Baka does the puzzle first and is on to moving the puzzle pieces up a cargo net. Now they have to build a triangle (the first was a square).

VESI wins Immunity! They yell out clues to Baka so Coco loses. Baka is safe. Coco must go to Tribal tonight.

Coco is steaming because Vesi shouted out and helped Baka win. The guys are talking about voting out Cassidy. Geo thinks he's in charge. Meanwhile, Cassidy is sick of Geo and the women are talking about getting him out. James is trying to convince a paranoid Lindsay that the vote will be for Geo to go.

To Tribal we go. Jeff asks Ryan to grade the tribe. He gives an 8.5/10. Ryan wants to provide for others. Lindsay says today was a wake-up call and said some of the others didn't seem to want to talk to her. Ryan says he didn't talk to her and she claims she wasn't a priority. Geo claims to be nervous.

Time to vote. The tally -- Cassidy, Geo, Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay.

I guess it's not paranoia when they indeed vote you out. Bye, Lindsay!

The Amazing Race 34: 'It's All in the Details' Episode Blog Party - October 5

Hopefully I will be a bit better at the names of the teams tonight. Oh, but probably not for a few more weeks! I promise I will get the names down by the time the series comes to an end. How's that?
Here is a cheat sheet with the photos of the teams.

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area -- I hope to see you there!

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

We get a Previously On segment and see T-Rex philiminated again.

All teams are boarding the charter plane and heading to Italy. Megaleg - two Detours, two Roadblocks ahead. The teams are leaving in three groups fifteen minutes apart based on the Pit Stop arrivals from the last leg. They're looking for a marked parking spot.

Detour - Head of the Class - identify 16 bones, etc. in a test. Or 88 cheese wheels in The Big Cheese, delivering a cheese wheel, half to one restaurant, the other half to another.

Luis does not know his stick shift. Michelle calls it "classic Amazing Race." Quinton and one of the twins keep stalling, as well. Rich, too!

They have a cart to deliver the cheese, so that might be the easier task of the two. The building where the "class" is is stunning architecture. Linton and Sharik are regretting their class choice. Lumumba just noticed their instructions say to drive to the detours. They have been on foot. Eep!

Marcus and Michael are in the lead, having finished the cheese detour first. Dom is rubbing me the wrong way with what she is telling Rich about manifesting trouble when he doesn't have to. Someone saying that to me would make me manifest issues!

The ones on the cheese task have it easy compared to those learning anatomy! Quinton and Mattie made it through the anatomy challenge -- she said she was confident of the task because she studied anatomy in college. Glenda and Lumumba might be totally lost.

One of the twins also studied anatomy in school. They get through, too!

Marcus and Michael hit the Roadblock. Ducati flagship -- assemble wheels and brakes, before adding the body.

Lumumba and Glenda make it to the anatomy lesson Detour. My blog pool team Linton and Sharik finally made it through it. Claire is doing the assembling the Ducati! Eight of the ten teams are at the Ducati -- missing are Dom/Rich and Glenda/Lumumba, both back at anatomy. Both just made it through at the same time.

Although it seemed to take forever, Michael and Marcus are out of the Roadblock first and heading for a clue to another Roadblock. Apparently, this mega-leg is going to run two episodes. The twins, Emily and Molly, are second. Yay! Claire finished her Ducat! (Other teams finished before them.) Rich/Dom made it through leaving only Lumumba working alone on a Ducati.

To be Continued ... (next week)

Survivor 43: Episode 3 Blog Party - October 5

Good evening, Survivor fans! I hope everyone fared okay through Ian. Here in the NYC Metro Area of NJ we have had rain and winds for five days from the remnants.

The Amazing Race is after this show later tonight at 10PM EDT and a separate blog entry will be up for that. In between the shows is the new Love Boat thing. Although I really like Jerry O'Connell, the show itself is nothing I want to watch. So, I will have an hour's rest between blogging shows tonight. Cool!

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments section. I hope to see you there!

The Esteemed Lifeguard SueGee has updated the blog pool -- check it out to find your castaway!

Survivor fans ready?

We join in as Cody is collecting the beads so he can vote during Tribal Council, sealing the Justine ouster instead of the Nneka one favored by many. Now the others are a bit leery of him. Noelle is worried. She wants to really up her game now.

On Baka, Gabler slept on the beach. His fellow Baka-ites are concerned. Some think it's best he goes, both for the tribe and for his own health. They also worry about when his idol expires. Sami seems to be quite anti-Elie. He tells Gabler that she looked in his bag. Dwight and Gabler try to fool Elie and convince her he wants to keep his "expired" idol as a souvenir for his daughter.

On Coco, they are celebrating James's birthday. They are talking about suspicions regarding the hidden idol and those who might be searching for it. Karla found a Beware Advantage similar to the one found by Cody in his camp. She put it back. Oh my.

She talks to James, not telling him she found the advantage, but asking what he would do if he found one. She goes for the advantage. Yep, it's the same beads thing that Cody did. She will lose her vote at Tribal until she collects a bead from each person. She tells people she wants to make a bracelet for her wife. James is easy. She has to work at the rest. Now Ryan is the only one left. Now she has them all!

Immunity/Reward Challenge. They are out on the water on ramps. Leap off tall tower into ocean, climb stack of crates, dive to retrieve keys, turtle puzzle. Reward lots of fruit and large supply kit. Second place gets smaller version of the same. Geo sits out on Coco. He searches around the bench just in case something is hidden there. Smart move.

BAKA comes in 1st Place for Immunity! Coco wins 2nd Place!

Baka has to pick one person from each tribe to go on a journey. Noelle, Owen and James go off on a boat. They will be back before Vesi has to go to Tribal.

Nneka had been doing the puzzle with Jesse. She feels she once again let the tribe down. Sad, but she is right. Jesse and Cody say they can't keep losing. They recognize that Noelle is as strong with one leg as others with two. They know that Nneka is weak, but they have a strong bond with her. We get a sad story from Jesse about how she reminds him of his deceased mother, and it would be like voting her out.

The three off on the trip have a similar trip to Cody and the others in the first episode. We get Noelle's story of her sports background, the loss of her leg and how she is now Paralympic contender.

It is the Risk or Reward challenge. The two men treat her good. She needs to get the advantage and tells them she was on the bottom. Both agree to let her be the sole Risk taker in this one.

Noelle tells her teammates she has nothing and didn't want to risk the vote tonight. She decides she needs to tell Dwight. She can steal a vote from another player and cast an extra vote.

Tribal Council time. Jeff starts off asking about the challenge. Jesse said they weren't operating at their best and he was yelling at them. Nneka talks about caring for people on the tribe. Jody says they need to remember there's a game to play. Dwight says he needs to hang onto his alliance. Noelle says she is worried because she wasn't there today, wants to continue playing.

Time to vote.

The tally: Noelle, Nneka, Nneka, Nneka ... three is enough. Bye, Nneka.

I'm thinking it was Dwight and Noelle with her vote and the steal a vote from either Jesse or Cody. There will be suspicion about the hinky vote, I'm sure!

Whoa! I may be wrong, but it looks like it was all Nneka votes except her own! The two must have gone for keeping the stronger competitor on their tribe. I don't think Noelle used her advantage.

The Amazing Race 34: Patience, Is the New Me Episode Blog Party - Sept. 28

I will be live blogging the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! Of course, the real party is in the comments area -- I hope to see you there!

Abby & Will -- Jasonuwp, Krysta Gibson, Marthalight
Aubrey & David -- Donna in FL, Dr Celine, Skyriverblue
Derek & Claire -- Beachbound Gmom, ChicMc, Donna NY
Emily & Molly -- Joanne Victoria, Judi Sweeney, Sharon N
Glenda & Lumumba -- Glenn Allen, Indiana Jane, Petals

Tim & Rex -- Bizaro22, Cherry Pie, Margo & her Mom
Rich & Dom -- David, Kelsey NY, Nora M, Sue

PHILIMINATED
Aastha & Nina - No one was assigned to this first gone team. I'm glad I won't have to misspell the one's name all season!

Now, I should have posted this before -- but here is a cheat sheet with the photos of the teams.

Race fans ready? Let's GO!

We get a recap and watch Derek and Claire win the 1st leg again.

They will leave according to arrival times. They will depart in three groups. They will drive to Innsbruck, Austria. The teams enlist locals and tourists for directions. Of course, if they have to fly anywhere, it has to bunch them up as they are still using the private plane.

They have to go to Brund Nalder Huff (sp?) for the next clue. The second group is leaving - T-Rex and Marcus/Michael.  The twins and Jamaican father/daughter are on their way. Now the last group is on the way.

Rex decides the new him is patient.

Munich, Germany. Uh-oh -- Quinton and Mattie are there. They need to be in Austria! They were on the right street in the wrong city. In the wrong country!

Derek and Claire make it to the first Roadblock. Who wants to call in the cows? Yodeling to call in the cows. They are accompanied by locals and an accordion. Claire does it. Three different yodels and hand motions. I could never do this! They have to wear the wardrobe for the rest of the leg.

Several teams at the back of the pack are having directions and/or traffic woes. This Roadblock is not easy at all. No one has made it through it yet. They are all having problems with the first yodel.

Marcus and Michael are the first through the yodeling. Glenda sailed through it and now she and Lumumba are in second place. Linton and Sharik are next to finish calling in the cows. Claire is so bad at this! The twins are through next.

Detour - Michael and Marcus arrive. Bells Ringin' - seven notes on bells to play tune. Partners Swingin' - learn wedding dance.

Abby and Will move on from yodeling. Poor Claire. T-Rex is through. Poor Claire. Rich and Dom through. Poor Claire. Luis and Michelle through. Aubrey and David through. Poor Claire. FINALLY! Claire gets through the yodeling!

The teams dancing and ringing bells have their own difficulties. Finally, the brothers get through ringing the bells. They are the first team heading off to the Pit Stop. Lumumba and Glenda get through the dancing and are off to the Pit Stop, too.

Claire and Derek get through the bells on the first try.

Pit Stop order:

1. Marcus and Michael - win Expedia reward points five nights for two to Lima, Peru.
2. Glenda and Lumumba
3. Linton and Sharik
4. Derek and Claire
5. Luis and Michelle
6. Abby and Will
7. Emily and Molly
8. Rich and Dom -- missing hat, need it for check in!
8. Aubrey and David
9. Rich and Dom
10. Quinton and Mattie
11. Tim and Rex -- Philiminated.
