BB23: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - August 4

Hello fellow hamster watchers! I'd call us voyeurs but that sounds too creeper-like. Tonight is the Power of Veto comp as well as the PoV meeting during which the veto is used ... or not. We have Whitney and Hannah on the block with Hannah as the pawn. Will it be a case of the pawn going home this week? Will Whitney win the Power of Veto and save herself?

Well, we might know some of the answers from the live feeds. However, since this is a show post, it's in the No Spoilers Zone. Please, let the folks who just watch the shows enjoy this! Merci.

I will be live-blogging the show with all the major events as it airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest updates! As always, the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there! Bring snacks!

How many times can I yawn through the "previously on" segment?

We pick up the action as the Nominations Ceremony comes to an end. Christian justifies his noms to us. Whitney has no idea why she is nominated. Hannah is not thrilled but is pretty sure she is the pawn. Derek X doesn't want to lose a teammate for his own game. Xavier is hoping that Whitney will be the target, not Hannah. Christian tells them that his own target would be Whitney. SarahBeth is not happy but is willing to stop pushing for a Hannah exit.

On a side note: The strange faces Hannah makes are distracting.

Xavier considers Whitney a friend even though he wants to stay loyal to the Cookout alliance and give her the boot. Xavier tells Whitney he heard she said his name as a possible target with the Kings (his team). She denies it.

Whitney head to HOH to confront Christian. He tells her that her name was indeed brought up. We see an older clip of Derek F saying that.

A segment on Christian doing flips in the backyard. He is impressive. Britini thinks his abilities will put him on the nomination list.

Whitney is giving Xavier a too sexy massage. Azah tells us maybe she's petty but finds it disturbing. You're not petty, Azah. Xavier tells us that he's Operation Nomance after Azah comes to talk to him about it.

Whitney then approaches Derek X who tells her he had no clue what the noms were going to be. He tells us he wants both Hannah and Whitney safe. He feels he would have to win the veto. (But how could he guarantee the person he wants would go up?) Hannah wants Derek X to win. He tells us he would have to save Hannah if he wins the veto. Alyssa tells him that Whitney is the target, Hannah the "clear pawn."

They have to clean although I have to say many other seasons have had messier hamsters.

Time to pick players for the Veto Comp. Christian draws Claire. Hannah draws Houseguest's Choice and goes for Derek X. Whitney draws Azah. Tiffany and Hannah quickly note that SarahBeth was so upset that she was not picked to play for the veto. Tiffany plants the seed to Hannah that SarahBeth needs to be targeted by her (Hannah).

Time for the veto comp! It's athletic. Volleyball nets -- They have to run back and forth playing against themselves rolling the volleyball up a ramp and running to catch it on the other side. First person to 100 points wins. Alyssa hosts. The score resets to zero and they have to start all over again if they drop a ball.

CHRISTIAN WINS THE POWER OF VETO ... despite a valiant effort by Derek X, his only real competition in the competition.

Whitney walked in and heard Derek X saying something which makes it clear that she (Whitney) is the target for eviction. Whitney thinks she can use it for ammunition to get herself off the block and get him evicted.

Whitney talks to Christian to try to convince him that Derek X should be backdoored. She thinks Derek is Christian's biggest competition. The edit of Christian in the Diary Room makes it seem like he is considering it.

Time for the veto meeting ... Christian does NOT use the veto. Hannah and Whitney remain on the block.

BB23: Live Feeds into Wednesday Morning - August 4

Did aliens invade the house?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Masked Marauders:

  • Welcome to the all mask all the time live feeds report!
  • No, they didn't have them on all day.
  • It's just that all my screen caps are the facial masks.
  • I'm silly like that.
  • Besides, not too much of consequence otherwise went down in the house.
  • Despite her seduction attempts, Whitney remains the target and we'll probably be seeing a house vote again.
  • Perhaps not unanimous but a house vote nonetheless.
  • There was plenty of scheming and "if ____ wins HOH" talk going on.
  • Tiffany has now taken Hannah under her wing and seems to be willing to have Hannah take a shot at Claire.
  • Yet she still has a final two deal with Claire and they are working together.
  • Now, Claire is good at the game. But will she catch on that Tiffany is cut-throat enough to scheme against her?
  • Although it's been three men out in a row and now we'll have the first female, the girls are realizing that the men are winning the comps.
  • Well, not Derek F.
  • The other men.
  • with all the scheming, this crowd is one of the first in years that really seem to like each other.
  • Azah injured her leg in the veto comp and, of course, Tiffany took that opportunity to work her mojo with her.
  • Tiffany told Azah that she considered Hannah a full-fledged member of the Cookout. Azah and most (if not all) consider her sort of a peripheral member. Hannah didn't even know it had a name until someone (I forget ... Xavier?) let it slip.
  • So, Tiffany is trying to get more acceptance of Hannah -- not for this week against Whitney as that won't be an issue -- for a soldier in her own game.
  • As I said, cut-throat player. But very good.
  • I can't recall a house past maybe the first year that gathered together each night and did something. Other seasons it happened on and off. But this house doesn't miss a night of gathering whether it be the Big Blue Couch Show, a nightclub night or an evening of facials.
  • Overall, the intelligence factor has changed as well. When I hear a Derek X referring to the pandemic as "dystopian" I can see some lingual hope for the younger generation.
  • That said, all the alliances are driving me bonkers. I can't keep up.
  • Now Christian and Britini have a final two deal.
  • So, Christian went to Alyssa and told her.
  • I thought they had a final two deal!
  • Darn. And people talked about Tyler and all of his final twos! I think everyone in the house this season has multiple final two deals!
  • It kind of cheapens the whole thing.
  • Oh, well. They don't know teams will be ending, probably this week.
  • Like on Survivor, I'm sure some will retain the team loyalty.
  • But the Cookout may trump that loyalty.
  • Whatever happens down the line, I still predict that Derek F will be the first one out of the HOH endurance comp this week.
  • Heh.
  • They also have no clue that's coming. Most have been studying days.

The red looked like crazed hunters with smeared blood.

Is she applying a facial or giving a lap dance?

Facial diversity

Yes, that's Azah. Really. Just a bit scary.

Alyssa should have color-coordinated
her clothes with the mask.

BB23: Live Feeds into Tuesday Morning - August 3

You can just see the joy on his face!

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Entertainment Eagles:

  • With Christian not using the veto yesterday, Whitney is not asking for whom the bell tolls.
  • She realizes it's her.
  • Of course, if not for silly alliances and people voting with the HOH, the smarter move for their own games would be to take out Hannah while they have the opportunity.
  • Of the two nominees, Hannah is the one who just might have it in her to win it all.
  • Whitney not so much.
  • Her way of fighting to stay is to hang all over Xavier.
  • Um. Well.
  • It really wasn't a good day for that. Xavier has already told her that he didn't want a girlfriend with children (hint to her!) plus he had been very emotional because he broke his deceased brother's bracelet.
  • It just was not a good time to hang all over him.
  • He was kind enough to not kick her away but he certainly didn't want to be there.
  • Tiffany is continuing to work her campaign to target SarahBeth. She plants the seeds and the others take it from there.
  • The more they target SarahBeth the less a target on the two Tiffany wants to stick around for a while -- Derek X and Christian.
  • As of now they have no clue that the HOH comp will be endurance.
  • I'm personally hoping for a wall as the women should do well and might have some competition from Derek X.
  • Alliances are still all over the place with the Cookout remaining intact.
  • I've gotten to the point that I'm having a hard time figuring out who's lying to whom and why these days.
  • Supposedly Tiffany and Hannah now have a final two pact. But do they really? Or is it all in interest of Tiffany's gameplay?
  • I just don't know.
  • They had a mock trial last night over the 'theft" of bucket hats among their other entertainment attempts.
  • I will say this group is much more into time-occupying group activities than past hamsters.
  • However, sometimes it's just a "group" of two -- Britini interrupted a make-out session under covers by Christian and Alyssa.
  • Oh, well.
  • Whitney is still the target this week.

Every time they yawn, I yawn.

Derek X is having a ball in the house!

Trials and tribulations

Is the weight making it sit on its frame yet?

I really wanted to like her. Just can't do it.

Hannah is actually the bigger threat of the two nominees.

BB23: Live Feeds POV Bulletin - August 2

So, here I was patiently sitting waiting for the live feeds to return and expecting the unexpected.

Huh?

What?

I got the expected. Christian did not use the Power of Veto. Hannah and Whitney remain on the block.

BB23: Live Feeds into Monday Morning - August 2

Tiffany rockin' the beach hat

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Coy Coyotes:

  • With the yard open and their big "night out" Night Club event happening, they could only talk game about ten hours yesterday.
  • Okay, just to be clear, their night out is a dress up event on the balcony over the yard.
  • Whitney is still holding out hope that Christian will use the veto and save her.
  • Silly girl.
  • She thinks if she's not saved that hanging all over Xavier might save her game.
  • That's just whack!
  • Yes, Whitney, he probably would go for a restraining order. I don't think he's that into you!
  • Tiffany schooled Hannah on some do's and don'ts's of the game. "Listen more and speak less." It seems that Hannah was a bit too quick and accurate with days questions answers when studying with Christian and Christian tells Alyssa everything so that's more ammunition against her.
  • Alyssa keeps scheming against Hannah while Hannah keeps scheming against SarahBeth.
  • Oh. And Tiffany is also on the Target Sarah Beth boat.
  • Kyland had one of his long camera talks. He says it's getting hard and he loves everyone. He really wants SarahBeth to stay.
  • He also said that Whitney had told them (before she was nominated) that she didn't want to sit in jury as she misses her kids.
  • Now, that was either not on the feeds or I missed it.
  • She can go. With the blog connection to her, I wanted to be able to cheer her on. But I just can't do it.
  • Azah and Derek X had a lengthy discussion of Kaysar and Janelle, season six. Derek wasn't familiar with that season at all but knows who Janelle and Kaysar are.
  • Tiffany joined in on the talk and is also enamored with Janelle and Kaysar.
  • Both Azah and Tiffany said they preferred "old school" BB.
  • When Derek X asked what the difference was, they told him that people didn't vote with the HOH and huge huge alliances didn't exist.
  • Yet that's the game Tiffany and Azah are playing.
  • @@
  • Xavier and Derek F have decided that Derek F has to win HOH this week and target Christian.
  • Bwahahaha!
  • Pardon me.
  • I need to stop guffawing.
  • I need to at least get it down to a chortle.
  • They don't know that the HOH will be endurance.
  • Unless it's sitting or laying down, Derek F is not a Master of Endurance.
  • I predict first out.
  • I'll let you know how the Veto Meeting goes when I know. I sincerely doubt that Christian will use the veto.

Xavier rockin' the blanket

I predict a good friendship for years to come.

I love his storage room talks to the camera (us)

They are starting to realize he is a threat
 both physical and mental.

Most like him more than his showmance partner
