*****************************

Julie is dressed in tan and looking summery. Let's take the "previously on" segment time to gather our snacks!

We get the completion of the veto meeting and ... drumroll, please ... but first we're told it's the last eviction before jury and a huge twist in which we have a part is coming. Ohh ... while Julie talks they're doing the Big Blue Couch dance in their seats.

Oh, Britini saved herself and Derek put Christian on the block. Christian thinks Derek X is a coward and he will have the votes to stay. Derek F tells him he has him. He tells us he needs to check in with the Jokers and the Cookout to see where everyone is before he makes the decision.

Christian blames his nomination on SarahBeth. He thinks she lied about him to Derel. He's angry and snaps at Derek.

Claire gets her costume -- she's dressed as a playing card. Anytime BB tells her to she needs to throw the deck of cards in the air, then play 52 Pick Up by herself. Kyland gets his Jackass of Clubs donkey costume and must make club sandwiches on demand from the BB King.

Tiffany is talking to Christian. He tells her that her hug felt like a goodbye hug. She tells him that she feels she has to vote with the house. He replies that she and Claire would be the majority. She tells us he needs three more votes, not just her one, to stay. She talks to Britini and Azah about him pressuring her. She says that she will tell him that Britini is the swing vote. Britini tells us that she just doesn't know.

Derek F has a bug in his bonnet about Tiffany bossing people around. He threatens to drop out of the Cookout. She's not the boss of him! Whoa, he's getting way nasty about her.

Julie gives us a tease about an eleven hour flip. Tiffany tells Christian that, unlike what the others are telling him, he doesn't have the votes. She tells him others are lying and that Britini and Derek F are flipfloppers. She tells us that keeping him is better for her own game than is keeping SarahBeth. She talks to Xavier who tells her he feels the same way. She tells us that with her, Xavier and Alyssa on board, she would only need two more votes to keep him.

Claire is not so keen on the idea. She talks about not trusting the people they've worked with. Uh-oh, Claire seems to be onboard now. Christian tells Britini that Tiffany wants to talk to her. Derek F and Azah insist on coming along. Now Tiffany is mad. The Cookout has cracks growing.

To the living room --
Christian - Thanks friends/family, still here because he was loyal, knows it's a game, friends with all
SarahBeth - Shoutouts, talks kindly of Christian, last week before jury, if on jury would be objective, love and respect all.

Julie asks how they know she doesn't have a twist up her sleeve about jury.

The votes to evict:
Hannah - Christian
Kyland - Christian
Xavier - SarahBeth
Alyssa - SarahBeth
Into commercial ...
Britini - Christian
Derek F - He sadly to evote Christian
Tiffany - Christian
Claire - Christian
Azah - Christian - Can her outfit get any more lowcut?

Christian is evicted and is mature about it but for his huge kiss for Alyssa. Julie cuts it short, doesn't show the goodbye messages as they are short on time. Once it goes online, I'll post the extended interview on here if I can.

The new twist is -- Julie tells the HG that they all made jury. High risk/high reward. New room at BB Beach Club -- the high rollers room, inside three unique BB Casino games and three powers. Skill, luck, BB Bucks -- a special currency given each week with the ones voted by America getting the most. Bigger powers cost more.

We get a good night without an HOH Comp.

You can go to www.cbs.com/bbvote for information, text 97979 with the HG name you want to win the most. Top Three get $100, next three get $75, others all get $50. It looks like all they are doing is the text vote this season.

Telling his problems to a donkey

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Flipping Foxes:

  • Tears, jeers, fears ... that was the kind of day it was.
  • What a mess.
  • Tiffany decided to try to flip the vote (and keep Christian).
  • Now, we know she has wanted that for her own game all along.
  • She's been trying to switch the target to SarahBeth.
  • She had enlisted Hannah to switch the target to SarahBeth.
  • Sure, keeping Christian would be good for her own game. And, it would come with a bonus Alyssa.
  • But, it isn't the best for others.
  • The Cookout almost fell apart and might soon be leaking like a sieve.
  • Azah and Derek F got all kinds of mad at Tiffany for trying to flip the vote.
  • For most in the house, it would be better that Christian go. He can excel at physical comps. If he makes it to jury both he and Alyssa will probably vote as a block.
  • Heck, even Derek F who wants women out wants Christian to go.
  • Azah and Derek F were even talking about wanting to keep Britini in the house longer than Tiffany!
  • Britini cried.
  • Christian cried.
  • SarahBeth cried.
  • Xavier did not cry. He actually tried to help Christian by giving him talk points for his campaigning.
  • But then he also told him he didn't think he had the votes to stay.
  • Claire ended up warning him that it didn't look good.
  • In the end, Tiffany has drawn negative attention within the Cookout and Christian should be evicted tonight. Perhaps a split vote, but evicted.
  • Christian has accepted it but did fuss that every white male is out once he goes.
  • Well, we really needed a better class of white males, I say!
  • Two out of the three black males are superfans, physically fit and smart -- Kyland and Xavier. The third is a superfan, but not a great BB winner prospect -- Derek F. The one Asian male is a recruit, but smart, physically fit and a quick study. Meanwhile, the whites got Frenchie, Brent and what's-his-name. Christian was the best of the group.
  • Oh, well.
  • We get a new HOH tonight!
Making a valiant effort to flip the vote

Maybe he can stop if he spits in the food!

Scrambling to stay

In a catatonic state about Christian leaving

BB23: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - August 11

Hello fellow hamster watchers! I'd call us voyeurs but that sounds too creeper-like. Tonight is the Power of Veto comp as well as the PoV meeting during which the veto is used ... or not. We're going into this with Britini and SarahBeth on the block. Will those same two be nominated for eviction by the time the show ends?

Well, we might know some of the happenings from the live feeds. However, since this is a show post, it's in the No Spoilers Zone. Please, let the folks who just watch the shows enjoy this! Merci.

I will be live-blogging all the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest updates! As always, the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there! Bring snacks!

Previously on and blah-blah-blah. They sprawling across the TV screen that we're under a severe thunderstorm warning and I can hear the thunder. Hopefully my power will stay on.

Derek X talks to us about backdooring Christian while SarahBeth is surprised that he went after the Royal Flush. Britini is mad and cries to Derek F. The Royal Flush is all upset. Christian promises his fellow King that he will fight for her in PoV and she should choose him if she gets HG choice.

SarahBeth tells us she needs Derek X to be honest with her. He tells her that she's not the target. He tells her that if she comes off the block, he won't be putting up a Joker. He lets her know he wants to backdoor Christian.

Derek X tells us that he has to tell his fellow Royal Flush people that his target is Britini. He claims that he felt he had to nominate a King as Hannah was suspicious. He claims another Joker would go up if Britini comes off. Christian trusts him. Heh.

Many seem to be supporting SarahBeth. When Alyssa tells her that she will save her if she wins PoV, it makes SarahBeth realize that Christian (Alyssa's showmance) would be backdoored, but she doesn't let on.

Veto player pick time -- Derek X draws Alyssa. SarahBeth gets Claire. Britini draws Kyland (after she tells us she wants anyone but Kyland as he would save SarahBeth). Derek X is thrilled that Christian was not picked to play.

Veto Comp time. The backyard is set up with workout equipment. Kingdom of Curl A Lot. Everyone gets a prize, rewards and punishments. As they do the first exercise, Claire tells us she doesn't need to win it. She wins the Viceroy of Veto. She knows it will be taken.

SarahBeth loses by a smidgen to Britini. Baroness of Bling ($5,000) and she keeps it! Her rationale is that Britini is still in it and would take the veto away. Kyland is out next, gets Duke of the Deck -- wearing a card costume and play 52 Pick Up on demand. He trades for Claire's veto.

Derek X out next. He gets the Jackass of Clubs. Jackass costume and make sandwiches on demand. He approaches SarahBeth about the money, but backs down as he just didn't have the heart to do it.

It's down to Alyssa and Britini. Britini is going wild with it and WINS! Alyssa wins Count of Communications. New phone and laptop, will get a phone call later this week and if still there in four weeks, a video call. Britini gets Lord of the Latrine -- punishment announcing arrivals to bathroom. She swaps for the Veto, of course. So, Britini has (technically) won the Power of Veto.

Derek's costume is very royal. Anyone wanting to use the bathroom must ask him for permission, he needs to unlock a hasp lock which has been installed and announce them and he's having fun with it. He does poop out, so to speak, after six hours.

Derek X thinks it's smart to warn Alyssa that there's a backdoor Christian plan? Oy. She tries to talk him out of it. She is not a happy camper about it at all.

Of course, she goes to Christian and tells him.

No, Derek X ... you are not blindsiding him if everyone including him knows you're doing it.

Time for the veto meeting. Christian wants Derek F on the block instead of himself. And, the show edit saves the suspense for tomorrow night. What a rip-off!

BB23: Live Feeds into Wednesday Morning - August 11

Why always hugging a pillow?
Does he do that at home?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Voting Vipers:

  • Yesterday was a bit noneventful.
  • Oh, sure. There were a few quibbles.
  • But no kerfuffles and not a brouhaha to be had.
  • There was a bit of a rift because it got out that SarahBeth said that Britini acted obnoxious after the veto and others rushed to Britini's defense.
  • Now, I think most of them tend to act at least slightly obnoxious after a veto win.
  • Why else would they keep wearing that silly necklace so long?
  • Plus, we know from watching and the other hamsters have witnessed how much she wanted to win a comp.
  • Oh, well.
  • Like I said, it didn't make kerfuffle level.
  • Despite people constantly telling her she's safe, SarahBeth has gone into a bit of a "woe is me" phase.
  • Christian still thinks he might be safe ... a bit. He's starting to worry as people he thought he had aren't really committing.
  • I don't know what's going on with his skin. For a while he had red splotches on his face where Alyssa kept popping his pimples (ew). But now his whole face looks red, sweaty and maybe even a little swollen. It's not a good look.
  • The other hamsters keep commenting on his stink. He hasn't been taking showers (ew).
  • I'm glad the live feeds don't come with smell-o-vision!
  • There were a lot of feed blocks yesterday.
  • We would see Kyland Jackass making sandwiches but see only a bit of Claire's cards toss.
  • Weird.
  • Alyssa and Christian keep campaigning for him to stay.
  • They really don't know all will be for naught. (I like that expression and don't get to use it often enough!)
  • Claire wants to tell Alyssa before the eviction that he won't be staying.
  • Why the heck can't they just let these things be a surprise?
  • No Big Blue Couch but Hannah gave them lessons in body language. It would behoove them to pay attention to that. Yes, I just wanted to work in "behoove" but it fit so well there.
  • Azah had them all cracking up with accent lessons. It was a hoot to watch.
  • That's where we stand ...

Schooling the others on accents

Has the most skin issues of anyone in the house

Time to make the sandwiches

Bucket hats and tiaras

They all tell her she's staying, yet ...

BB23: Live Feeds into Tuesday Morning - August 10

Dancing as Azah belts out 'Big Blue Couch'

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Krazed Kinkajous:

  • As Derek X finished his Lord of the Latrine bathroom duties -- announcing others to the "latrine, aka porcelain pot," locking and unlocking the newly installed hasp on the door and blowing his horn -- Claire and Kyland got their costume punishments won in the veto comp.
  • Kyland's Jackass of Clubs has him in a donkey costume making club sandwiches for some or all dependent on BB's direction.
  • Claire's 52 Pick Up has her dressed as the Queen of Hearts playing card "Duchess of the Deck." When BB tells her, she has to throw all the cards in the air, then pick them up. I think BB was grasping for anything when they came up with this one.
  • Christian has calmed down some.
  • I no longer fear he will get physical against anyone. Maybe I shouldn't have feared it in the first place.
  • But, mind you, he all but had steam coming out of his ears!
  • And the fire in his eyes ...!
  • Part of the calming down came from his talk with Tiffany, par for the course this season.
  • She comforted him, gave him the advice to cool it down, it's a marathon not a sprint and on and on.
  • She covers her bases so well.
  • Tiffany thinks the majority of the house want to and will vote out Christian.
  • She wants him to stay but won't push the issue as it might put her in a bad light with some.
  • Instead of talking to others why Christian needs to stay over SarahBeth (better for her own game would be the reason), she talks to them about the dangers of keeping SarahBeth.
  • She even told Christian she could never win against him at the end -- which I think she could if the jury went for gameplay rather than comps -- but told him to work to stay.
  • However, she thinks he should wait on his campaigning until Wednesday.
  • She has both of them, Christian and SarahBeth, thinking they each have her support.
  • The show should really air something about the hamster's 'Big Blue Couch' theme song and show. They have a synchronized dance and Azah can really belt out that theme song.
  • They have made it clear to BB that it is their own song and they are not violating any copyrights.
  • Yet the BB blocking keeps going on without rhyme or reason this season. The 'Big Blue Couch' theme is one of the few things not blocked.
  • Sigh.
  • Kyland's head keeps falling off backwards. It's a good thing it's connected.
  • Um, I mean his costume head.
  • Of course.
  • Derek F told Kyland he was worried about possibly getting a costume punishment.
  • I say he could be a couch potato. He spends more time laying about on chairs or beds than anyone else. He said before his goal was to make jury and he has nothing at home to return to (unlike Derek X with his own business!) so that's his goal.
  • I don't know.
  • I think I prefer Tiffany's thinking -- she's here to win the game and, ruthless or not, she's game 24/7.
  • Today should be quiet in the house. They have the yard and heavy duty campaigning won't start until tomorrow.

Perfect pitch? I think not.

Tells us she covered her bases with
Christian just in case.

Eating sandwiches made by Kyland Donkey

Claire is quite the card, huh?

Meant to post this one yesterday --
