'Big Brother 9' - Are You Ready?

This is what's currently on Feed 4 accompanied by a Sirius Radio classical romance music station. On the other feeds, there's news coverage. No, not BB9 news ... just news.

Tonight I'll be live-blogging the season premiere here as it airs in the NYC area. Everyone is welcome to comment!

Julie Chen was on Craig Ferguson (not in a sexual kind of way, of course) last night. But, as with Letterman, there was little insight into the season. I'm wondering a bit about how well thought-out this upcoming season is myself here. They've gone through a few different themes -- the "my dirty little secret" - soulmates, now 'til death do us part. I wish they'd make up their minds!

Julie Chen had another BB9 intro bit on The Early Show this morning -- letting us in on the new housepets, a pair of guinea pigs, as well as more house touring. The video is below.

The house is cool-looking but the color scheme is boring. That lime-green sectional is UGH!

Other than that, I am totally excited about BB's debut tonight.

I hope it's a great season too.

MMM, famous last words, though I heartily hope you're right. Last year was my least fave season, as torturous as the one with Cappy.

UGH! I'm not ready...

4-5 hours of Idol the next few weeks. 3 hours of BB...

I may have to quit my job!

I will still check your site jackie...but I am boycotting BB until I see a little equal opportunity.....what happens when paparazzo gets voted out first....

Joyn also the horrendous blue design wallpaper in the Nautical bedroom. I think they go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy the oops papers that are in a shopping cart for little cost!!! Maybe even Big Lots!!!

TY so much Sydney, I hope I get that tune out of my head soon!

Taping AI and 2nd hour of Biggest Loser. Do not forget Jericho returns tonight!

Snowing like crazy here, but at least temp out of the basement!

Sorry you feel that way Tina, but maybe we should boycott BB too, because there is no one over 50 on the show...or overweight people.

Somethings bite my butt!!!

Just read on realitytvworld that Sean Hayes rep says that he will not be on DWTS this season, (sorry, Sydney). But the statement also mentions that the new DWTS line-up will be announced on Feb. 18 during the finale of Dance Wars. DWTS debut show will air on March 17, then return to Tues. nights on the 25th. JFYI.

I'm kind of excited, but a little scared too...after all the drama of BB8, I'm afraid this will be a let down. Especially with all the hollywood wanna-be, reality-clones in the house, it could end up being pretty boring. I hopw one of those Barbie and Ken dolls has some personality!

Idol, Survivor, BB, and the writer's strike over!!! I definitely need to quit my job! :)

Welcome back, Joe in NY! Long time, no see (so to speak). You've been missed. Also looking forward to the new season and hoping for the best.

Well it doesnt make any sense! The other BB's have diversity especially BB UK why can't we do the same thing in America. If they dont let overwieght, old or unattractive ragdolls (instead of kens and barbies) then they are implying that people of color are also not attractive enough to be seen on television.....Survivor got the same criticism and what did CBS do?...They made an even racist version of the show by pinning races against one another...Heck I'm boycotting CBS period....If I do watch BB it would be online from a site not affiliated with CBS

I would like to see how the owner of this site looks. she should post pics. And wow Joe that's a big dog.

Tina...so in other words you don't want TV to ignore the minorities, but you don't actually want them to be cast either (Survivor). You seem to be very hard to please and possibly just looking for something to complain about. How about acknowledging the fact that at least 3 people in this cast of BB are gay or bi. That is not the norm for a reality show. That's diversity in casting. It just seems like people are always looking towards the negative. No one ever has anything nice or positive to say anymore. It's a very sad state of affairs.

ANON 2;12, i had to laugh that you want to know what the owner of this site looks like while you remain anonymous. Do you want to post your picture, or maybe even just your name before requesting that?

Do we have our little visitor back ALREADY Jackie?

That's anon 2:42.

And JoyN, bummed about Sean Hayes. Your are a virtual TV detective!!! I confess there was nothing on last night at 7 so I watched DWTS while I was sorting some paperwork and heard they will announce on that show. Trying to get viewers any way possible!!!

Julie was on a local radio show this AM in Dallas..

My bad Joshuah (that spelling sucks) is from Dallas. Here's the deal. The producers have paired people up as potential couples. I guess each HG did a compatability test and their "partner" is their potential "soulmate." So how well you work as a team, with your partner, and what happens if you like someone on another team is part of the game. Sounds like a high school rollar coaster, but hopefully will be good TV.

Hey if the season blows, House Calls will be funny with Dick.

I'll be here, watching and reading!

OH YEAH!!!!! BB is back and it hasn't even aired yet.....joe in ny is back to keep us on our toes....it sounds like the anon. gang is back being negative and grumpy....lots of people back on board with their thoughts.
delee--I'm with you, taping AI and watching BB.

As for the new cast of DWTS-do you think Donny Osmond is going to be one??
I know they asked him....

Another little sing-a-long to go with Sydneys....
Happy days are here again,
My TiVo schedule is full again,
Let's sing a song of cheer again,
HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!!!

Well kids if you haven't toured the house--- there is a bowl of condoms

It is soooo great to see BB folks back...Joe, Plaid and others. But not our phantom!!!

Nana and Plaid you just brightened up my snowy day with the song and the condoms!!! I just some hope idiot does not hit a elec pole this evening! :-(

Anonymous said...

A secret privacy room, a bowl of condoms and potential soulmates? Sounds like the theme for this season should be "Anything Goes".
Shoo Too might be worth the money this season ;)

Ugh, I just realized BB is up against American Idol on Weds. I like to watch both shows "live." Wonder if Idol will kill BB's ratings?

Well Caroline dear, I do want minorities to be casted....casted with the same respect and intention that the whites are given when casted. Who cares if someone is gay or not.... They are still hot young males and CBS still stereotypes with them because every gay member of BB has been a total stereotypical girly crybaby queen!! (yet still hot...w/ the exception of Bunky)...And gay members are very much the norm for reality tv....white gay members that is...and no one is looking negatively at anything but you and CBS I've just made an observation...if that observation sounds negative...then what does that tell you.....And everyone knows that that season of survivor was intended to be a slap in the face to anyone who complained about Survivor's lack of minorities...it was an insult so of course I wouldnt minorities casted in that way....Just in the way that obviously the rest of the world (i.e. The UK) does.... check out the latest cast of BB UK....CBS needs to get it together before I appreciate it again....

Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I have posted but I will be here reading all your comments and posting when I can.

Get your snacks in and settle in for the BB9 train. With Jackie as the conductor we are in for a wild ride.

Tina, stop complaining and stop watching CBS. Simple.

Anonymous said...

good point Tina. I have never ever looked at it that way before! Still, I am watching Big Brother this season, I am white so it does not bother me.

PS I am glad that I found this site. I did not hear ANYTHING about the new season literally until yesterday. The strike turned me off of tv and I saw no ads.

Tina...it's fine that you feel the way you do and I completely understand your point. I was only trying to point out that you made the same comment numerous times in just a matter of days. Repeating yourself, unfortunately, won't change the way CBS does anything. I just think it's ashame that people are already bashing a season that hasn't even started yet. Have you tried writing or contacting CBS to express your point of view? Cause although it's fine to express your opinion on this board, doing so won't actually make any impact on CBS or lead to any changes in the way they may do things.
