There's a new head of house, but the cloud of the coup d'etat hangs over any decisions made this week. Chima, Natalie, and Jessie think that Jordan has the power. Here are the evening's happenings into the dawn from that Big Brother House of French Phrases:
- Kevin mentioned that the remaining houseguests are all on the jury now. For me, that would have been reason enough to oust Ronnie. I would NOT want an extended vacation with that twerp! Jessie's a stronger player and possibly a threat, but he's nowhere near as personally annoying as Ronnie.
- Chima told Kevin she'd have him host the PoV comp and she won't put him on the block.
- Natalie is a bit offended by the makeover question and answer on the live show.
- Jeff thinks that Russell ended up sad over the Ronnie eviction -- Ronnie had been giving Russell a lot of game advice and things had changed between them between nomination and eviction.
- Jeff and Jordan are still thrilled with Ronnie's eviction.
- Jeff told Jordan that if they're put on the block, they'll know it came directly from Natalie and Jessie.
- Lydia told Jeff that she knows he has the power and he's a good actor. He denied it.
- Chima says she won't put up Jessie, Natalie, Jordan, Jeff, or Kevin. Um ... that leaves Russell, Lydia, or Michele.
- Jessie is gleeful over getting past week four.
- I really should use "gleeful" more often. It's a fun word.
- Natalie is sure either Jordan or Jeff have the power. She kept bulldogging them about making three enemies if they use it.
- Michele and Kevin hope the power won't bring back a houseguest. No way do they want Ronnie in the house again.
- Natalie and Jordan talked about how cute Drew (BB5) was. Natalie thinks both Jessie and Jeff are very cute. At least she knows cute (when it comes to Jeff!).
- Michele told Jeff that Natalie must think he has the wizard power because she's been saying he's cute for the past two days.
- Heh.
- Chima got her HOH room -- cornmeal, photos which didn't thrill her a lot, a letter from home. Lots of fake smiles.
- Chima said that her baby picture proves she was born with her lips, they're not surgically enhanced.
- Chima was a bit upset that the letter was "old." It was stamped with a date and apparently BB must ask all the family members to write them at the beginning of the season.
- Chima and Jessie told Russell that his personal beef with Ronnie cost them numbers.
- Meanwhile, Chima is quite adamant that she'd like to put Russell on the block.
- Russell apologized once again to Chima and mentioned that he apologized in the Julie Chen HOH talk, too.
- Kevin has broken out in a rash. He sees the dermatologist later today. He's hoping it's not measles or chicken pox.
- Don't they have vaccinations for both of those things these days? Wouldn't he have immunity?
- I think it could be a stress reaction to being in a house of fools. But I'm no doctor. I don't even play one on TV.
- Jeff, Jordan, and Michele noted that Russelll is spending time with the others now that they have the power once again.
- Natalie is still campaigning to get Lydia away from Jessie. She'd like to see her on the block.
- Jessie says that if he goes against Lydia, he goes against two people -- Lydia and Kevin.
- Natalie told Jeff she knows he doesn't have the coup d'etat. She thinks Jordan won it.
- Jessie and Natalie argued about the virtues of Lydia.
- It looks to me like Chima will most likely put Russell and Michele on the block. We'll know later tonight.
- I leave you with a cup of tea to get your day going.

If Mich and Russ are on the block, I hope Jeff still changes it and puts Jess and Nat.
My WV is micarile and I hope thats what happens, either Nat or Jess goes home and I get my micarile!
Thanks for all your hard work, Jackie! I'm reading but not commenting much because I seem to always be one post behind. Oh well. I love your "House of French Phrases". I always look forward for your "House of..." part of the post...always soo clever.
I just have to say that I enjoyed how Ronnie said he's (paraphrased) humble in winning and a gracious loser. HA!!! He proved otherwise on both counts.
I do NOT get why Michele did what she did with Russel. I know from her DR she had wanted him to keep what she told him private but denying it to his face when she knew she'd said that Chima wanted him out just didn't seem like a good move and was incomprehensible to me. Did it have anything to do with the editing in the show? I was confused.
Thanks again for keeping us updated.
Morning All,
I think Jesses rash may be from hanging out with Nasty Nat. People can get a rash from not bathing.
There are vaccines for Measles and Chicken Pox, but the Chicken Pox vaccine has only been available in the USA since 1995 and Kevin was probably too old to get the shot when the vaccine was introduced. Measles has been part of the MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella) vaccine since the mid 1970s.
I too like the word "gleeful", some words fade and then return!
Natalie is upset about the makeover comment, do you ever wonder what people really see when they look in a mirror?
Hmm if Jeff is the CDT holder and he uses it he makes 3 enemies. Oh Boo Hoo- those 3 would be in the minority. So who cares!
Kevin had the sniffles for the past few days... Yes there is a vaccine but did he ever have it? Doubt it is that as who would have given it to him?
Will be an interesting week just hope that it does not become the Nasty show again...wonder if there will be a Food Comp?
Wish I could be a fly on Ronnie's wall. He would mention Joker's Update so I am sure he will read parts of past entries. He will not like what he reads and how Jeff was mentioned to all for the vote for CD'etat. TeeHee
Good Morning!
I've always thought that it might be to the advantage of the houseguests to THINK about who we've picked and what that means. I find it amusing that Nat thinks it's Jeff or Jordan yet rather than wanting to be on their good side she lets them know they'll have enemies if they use it. Geesh!
Ronnie played his hand too fast and with too much arrogance to last. However, the Jesse side of the house is at a disadvantage now, and that is Russell's doing.
I wouldn't be surprised if Russell goes up, and think he'll be gleeful(Jackie) that he kept Jeff close when Jeff uses the coup.
That power will really be a game-changer this year...finally we get one that's actually a good one.
I don't "get" Michele either.
I saw your greeting, meb, thanks.
-Nancy
Ms Jackie - I am GLEEFUL as well (that my Jessie is still there).
G'morning everyone.
I think that jeff will not use it to save Russell especially since Russell seems to have changed his tune. I guess alot depends on whether Russell and Jeff truly have the alliance they made after last week.
I almost want them to put up jordan forcing jeff to use the power to put up nat and jessie providing one of them does not get the POV!
otherwise I think Jeff will lay low with the power (altho i wish not) he would have to be able to put up both jessie and nat to weaken them considerably but then he would be the target as would jordan if nat or jessie stayed and won HOH!
ugh
so complicated
what does everyone else think?
and Jackie, Jeff still has voting power to oust someone and Chima would not even if Jeff used the power and changed the noms??
I think the time between exposure and symtoms for both illnesses is 10 days to 2 weeks (or even shorter) I am just guessing, but who from the outside world could have exposed him?
I haven't seen last night's show yet, but will as soon as I can.
Poor Chima is never happy with her gifts. Remember the birthday party. Nothing is every quite good enough for her. Something her friends should remember about her way of seeing things.
Funny that Nat wants numbers but not at the expense of having Lydia around her/their guy.
Lydia does seperate herself from the other hgs. She slumps when she is upset and is soemtimes almost bend over by it. I know it could be something physical that explains that, but if you watch, it is more pronounced when she has on her sad face.
I heard one of the explanations Michelle gave to someone after the house meeting Russ called. She said she has never been able to recall conversations after the fact and when she hesitates to think of what was said, it comes off as lying. I know what a lame excuse that is...but it not only had the feel of truth when she said it, but I knew exactly what she was saying because I have it too. Of course, that doesn't excuse her responses to Russ about what she said to Russ.
I think if Michelle and Russell go up, that guarantees Jeff won't use the power (pending POV outcome, of course). Michelle is the obvious target and I doubt Jeff will risk saving her. Especially if Russell stays in the Jessie Posse.
I was thinking last night that the one flaw in the CDT is that you can't tell anyone. In order for it to be a really useful power (rather than just a vindictive one) it would be necessary to be able to use it for deal making. By forcing it to be a secret, you are kind of guessing as to the overall reaction of the House. Jeff really needs to strike a deal with Lydia and Kevin. But if Michelle and Russell go up, Jessie might actually have the upper hand in making an open deal with Lydia and Kevin which would make the numbers against Jeff and Jordan large enough that an open coup would only put the target on Jeff.
I still think the more prudent course for Jeff is to stay friendly with Russell and Jessie and target Michelle, Lydia and Kevin. That is clear sailing to the final 6 at which point he has a solid 2, Jessie has a solid 2 maybe 3, so it all comes down to HOH/POV and Russell.
The fun thing about the small numbers and a solid 2 is that you don't want HOH, you want POV. The HOH can't vote (unless tied), so even if the HOH nominates your 2, either of you winning POV guarantees one of you comes down and a 50/50 shot in the vote.
Personally, from a fan perspective, I think that this is a potentially entertaining final 9 and if Kevin and Michelle were to go next, a pretty volatile final 7.
Love this season, so far.
I think Jeff is smart enough to get something for using the CDT without revealing it. He can tell Russell if he wins POV he will take him off and strike a deal that way. Even if he doesn't, he uses the CDT and Russell owes him big time.
I think, if its Russell, Michelle or Kevin-pox up on the block, Jeff is smart enough to use the coup d'etat, take them down (get a guarantee from Russell first, without revealing Jeff's power.. Russell does keep his word) and put up Jesse & Natalie. And if one of them is unavailable (POV, if CDT doesn't over-ride that) then put up the other of the pair (NastiJess) and Lydia... (guaranteeing Kevin's vote for the non-Lydia guest) because if you split Jessteroid and Nastily up, the one left standing has little or no power... other than the power to be annoying. They'd be an obnoxious little island unto him- or herself.
And the look on the faces when he did it, with no chance for them to save themselves? PRICELESS!
And the statement about him making three enemies... no it'd be two... because the third would be gone :)
I don't think even Chima would mind so much... she'd just flip to the other side and be miserable there! She's just with Nastijess because they seem to have had the power .. up til now!
Use it Jeff! Use it! Take out Jessie or Natalie! :) Make us all happy!
And the statement about him making three enemies... no it'd be two... because the third would be gone :)
I think the 3rd Chima is referring to is Russell. Remember, Russell wants to stay loyal to Jessie and Jeff. I think Jeff could get away with nominating Natalie but Russell might feel betrayed if Jeff goes ahead and backdoors Jessie.
And, Jessie-hating aside, I really don't see the strategic advantage. The current power in the house belongs to the floaters. It is basically J/J on one side J/N/C on the other with Russell, Kevin, Lydia and Michelle in the middle. That's a block of 4. Strategically, since Russell is sort of straddling, the best way to guarantee numbers is not to target Jessie/Natalie which actually increases the power of the floaters but to take out the floaters and keep your head down. Only Dr. Will (and Jeff is NO Dr. Will) and Evil Dick ever managed to make it through the entire game with a target painted on them the whole time. It is (IMHO) way too early for Jeff to paint a big target on himself with the floaters holding all the numbers.
You might think (wrongly, IMO) that Jeff would become the leader of the floaters if he targets Jessie/Natalie. But the floaters are floaters for a reason - they are agnostic on alliances. They are more likely to target Jeff/Jordan as the strong 2 than to rally around him.
It'll play out however it plays out, but I'm rather surprised that none of the CDT advocates for a Nessie nomination acknowledge the risk to Jeff in making such a move.

Jeff is careful and, in that sense, has played well enough to survive. Keeping his head down this week was actually good strategy with the house as volatile as it was. (Yes, sometimes a non-move is a good move. I'm sure you're all happy to hear me admit it.) But, it remains to be seen how smart technotronic coop dee tat is...
When Jeff got the news he said "thanks america, you have seen what was happening in the house and decided to help him out" or something like that, which means to me that he knows there needs to be a change in power and that can only be done by breaking up Jess, Nat and Chima. Chima cant go this week but one of the others can. Once one of them are gone their power is reduced greatly. If its Jess, Lydia will slide to Jeff's side because she does not get along with the Nat or Chima and so will Kevin. Then it's Nat and Chima against the house.
I would like to see it used just to see the look on everyones face if he does, especially Chima's.
Shout out to Nancy. Good to see you!
Sizzle, no surprise that I agree with everything you wrote. When I read that Chima wasn't happy with her letter from home, I thought "is she ever happy with anything?" She's just a very unhappy (and dare I say materialistic) person. There will be no pleasing her, I fear.
It will be interesting to see who she puts up for eviction. I'm guessing Lydia and Michelle. Still, it wouldn't surprise me to see her put up Russell.
Kevin's rash could easily be stress/nerves. It's really too late in the lock-up for it to be measles or chicken-pox. I wonder if his rash is related to Jessie's scratching. Maybe the soap they are washing clothes with is irritating them. Or maybe Ronnie left a little itching powder in the beds!
Laurie! LOL! I wouldn't put it past Ronnie for a second to have left itching powder behind!
I think if Jeff does use the CDT, Chima's head might spin right off. Especially if one of her buddies are evicted. On that note, I hope Jeff does use it!
Katie in Chi
Laurie..itching powder. Funny
About Jeff's power: I see it could be a bargaining power. But (you knew there was a but, right !) I like the secret part. It would be almost impossible for it not to be revealed in some way. A slip of the tongue in speech, a lie said badly. nat would never belive Jess would have it and not let her know and vice versa, so they know they don't have it. They know Ronnie didn't have it. They will negotiate in the hypothetical with Jeff knowing that it is him or that if it is Jordan he can tell her how to use it. Or they will try to get him to lose the power by talking about it. Either way is something for the viewers to listen for.
Joe: I think the 3rd Chima is referring to is Russell. Remember, Russell wants to stay loyal to Jessie and Jeff. I think Jeff could get away with nominating Natalie but Russell might feel betrayed if Jeff goes ahead and backdoors Jessie.
Jeff could lay the groundwork by telling Russell (if he is nominated) that Jestie are calling the shots and running the show. He could hint (but not say) that he has overhead stuff being said and that he doesn't like it and will play to win POV for Russell. If he doesn't and neither does Jestie, then replace the ones on the block with Jestie saying, aliances have been made and the ones he is most loyal to are on the block.
Yes, he would have a target, but he would have a target anyway. They all know that Jeff is well liked.
WV: stooters - is where Nasty can get a job. Her boobies are too small for Hooters.
I agree with you "Chauncey, not Billups" Jeff is definitely aware that winning the coup d'etat was America's way of sending him a message and hopefully he will use it to "shake things up" as he said he would.
If he changes the nominations and gets Jessie or Natalie out then he will have only made two enemies that are left in the house and one of them (Chima) can't compete for HOH next week. So, I think his odds for getting rid of another one of them the following week are pretty good especially if he is able to secure a deal with whoever he takes off the block.
By the way...I know BB has said only the winner will know what the power is but did they actually say the winner can't tell anyone else if they want to?
Jeff should use it and put up Nat/Jesse. I am sure he is getting hints from DR sessions on what to do.
Hopefully Nat will go and Jesse will lose HOH.
I think if Nat stays then she has a better chance of getting HOH. Jesse talks about winning two HOH's this season. One was him comming in the house. He didn't do anything. The other was tossing a ball in a bucket. That could have been anyones game.
I think that Russ and Lydia will be on the block. According to the feeds Chima isn't to keen on putting Michelle up. I think the two of them should come to an agreement for final2.
Isn't Russell (or anyone else) upset about the fact that there were actually 3 votes for Ronnie to stay? Don't they realize that means Jessie/Natalie/Chima have been lying all along about Ronnie getting just one sympathy vote etc.. They should sit up and take note of how long and hard Natalie & Jessie schemed to keep Ronnie in the house and realize they desperately need to break up that alliance and get them out of the house asap!
I noticed Julie asked Jessie about being a Have Not and being on slop for the first time....why haven't he and Nat gotten some kind of penalty for not sleeping in the Have Not room and sleeping elsewhere even though they were told not to? Kevin got a penalty for eating a few grapes...why not them?
I'm hoping Chima puts up Russell. The way they went at it, I don't care how much apologizing Russell did, Chima isn't the type to forget.
If Russell is up with anyone else (except Nat or Jess) Jeff should take both of them down and put up Nat and Jess, assuring one of them would go home since there's no POV for the CDT.
If one of them (J/N) has already won the POV, then leave or put up Russell and change other person to whoever doesn't have the POV. I think the floaters and J/J would vote to evict the Jestie before they would Russell. Still assuring that one of them is going home, and leaving that TH another vote short. PLEASE!
NATILIE ROCKS, JESSIE RULES....We know who your loyalty is with. Why on earth do you think it would ever be wise for Jeff to leave Nat or Jesse in the game. Jeff cant afford to worry about Kevin and Lydia at this point, he needs to bring Russell on his side. Michelle knows I'm sure by now that Jessie and Nat are in an alliance and that they would go after her for not saving Ronnie, however, infact so does Lydia and Kevin. I don't think the Nessie group has the numbers, Chima cant vote. Even if one of them won the POV and they are both up one would still has to leave.

Gee...what gave you your first clue? LOL
Actually, I'm pretty agnostic on the game and who wins. I will say this however: if Jeff keeps his head down for another 3 weeks or so, I think he has a good chance of winning. If Jeff uses the CDT, I predict he won't last 3 weeks. (Feel free to keep track of my predictions and you may reward me or revile me for them later.)
What makes YOU think that Jeff can afford to ignore Kevin and Lydia? Am I the only one who remembers the Nerd Herd?
Isn't Russell (or anyone else) upset about the fact that there were actually 3 votes for Ronnie to stay? Don't they realize that means Jessie/Natalie/Chima have been lying all along
Actually, since Russell felt bad about Ronnie going (in the end), he probably doesn't mind at all. At this point, I think you have to view Russell as being the 4th member of Jesse's posse which is why it is a bit risky for Jeff to pick his head up too high.
Has anyone heard any of the hgs discussing the 3 votes for Ronnie? I haven't listened and am just in the middle of the recording of last night's show.
The editing of the Russ/Chima fight sure left out a lot.
When it comes to dual personalities I think both Chima and Russ tie as the hg winner in that catagory. They both can show two sides of themselves. True Chima (imo) is the one who talked low down and mean about anyone she doesn't like and who hates everything someone gives her. Pretense Chima is the one who speaks of liking the underdog and being loyal to her alliance.
I don't know which is True Russ..I think he is a little of both. The tangent he was on about the lying about him was not played in the interest of the game, it was just a personal slight he wanted repaired. And that made it a poor move, imo. Russell is the Loose Cannon rolling through the house.
Our week will get exciting if the Loose Cannon runs over the Bus that is careening around in the house.
Julie said just before the eviction, and said it to the hgs, that the winner of the CDT couldn't reveal they held it until they used it.
I think the power of the CDT lies in having it not necessarily in using it.
Those BB handlers had to be high fiving each other last night that Ronnie avoided the jury. Unless, as Ronnie predicted, an evictee gets to come back.
Chima may have to vote this week in the event of a tie.
If Jeff uses the CDT and there is tie does he pick who is evicted or would it be Chima
If Jeff does pick who goes then I think this is the perfect week for the CDT.
sizzie-
Ronnie will not be back on this season.
Julie asked(paraphrasing here) will you be watching from the comfort of your home. She was a little witchy to him.
lol @ gleeful
ur too cool
Cha Cha, I think if it's a tie, Chima will say who has to go and that would be great to watch if it were Jess and Nat on the block. She would have to send one of them to sequester and I personally wouldn't care which one as long as one of them is gone Thursday.
Here's hoping!
GLEEFUL can only mean one thing...that we will have the ultimate GLEE when Jesse and Natalie are GLEEFULLY GONE!! I am sick of seeing Jesse walk around with his irritating body and his wife beater shirts!! Ewwwwwwww
Russell should let his "loyal team members" know that he didn't appreciate being disrespected by them when they all voted for Lydia. Can you imagine how any of them would have responded if they had been HOH and the loyalty wasn't there? I still think he should align with Jeff and Jordan.
wv: radigans
Lydia and Natalie are a couple of radigans.

Good news, Cha Cha, and thanks. I just saw Ronnie meeting Julie. She must have been expecting his ugly comment about Michelle(since he talked about it so much) , but she( Julie) did seem to react to it. The night before Ronnie left (isn't that nice to write and read..."Ronnie left") he was telling the hgs about returnees, etc. They don't know he can't come back.
my wv is tolatedl It is tolated for Ronnie
Not that it much matters, but if you check the CBS site, Jessie spells Jessie with an -ie ending.
I think no one is discussing the 4-3 vote because they all knew it was going to be a 4-3 vote.
Gleeful (adj.) 1. Describing or pertaining to absolute delight. 2. Feeling of euphoria. 3. A Jessie and Natalie Final Two.
wv "mindogi" As in: "Mindogi had knee surgery but is doing very well now!"
I guess I am not a good strategist. I'm wanting instant gratification.
I don't think as much as I would like it that Jeff will win BB under any scenario so I hope he uses his powers to rid the house of Natalie.
She is the best of the players who is 100% in the TH. I think she is a lot better player than Jessie or Chima. I think Russ still likes Jessie but I am not sure how loyal he is to Chima or Natalie.
It will be funny to me if a floater wins this season. Not that I am wanting that to happen.
I have such a dislike and disrepect for Jessie, Natalie and Chima, not on their game play but just on being unlikeable people.
I say go for it Jeff. If you please the fans by getting rid of someone with your secret powers and get evicted it is better than you do nothing get evicted in a week or 2 anyway.
My WV is train as in there is likely to be a train wreck for the TH next week.
Joe/Anybody But Jeff/Other names said: Gleeful (adj.) 1. Describing or pertaining to absolute delight. 2. Feeling of euphoria. 3. A Jessie and Natalie Final Two.
You really must have a different dictionary than mine:
Gleeful (adj.) 1. Describing or pertaining to absolute delight. 2. Feeling of euphoria. 3. Jessie and Natalie NOT the Final Two.
(winks at Joe) Don't worry, Petals. No competition here :)
WV is bashicl. I'm not a Jessie bashicl(er), just not fond of the boy.
Oooops, I missed your wv, Joe. I'm glad your dogi is feeling better now :)
Ah how to spell the hgs name. I heard Jessie was upset at BB because they had his name wrong somewhere. I use Jess, Jesse, Jessie, Nessie and variation typos that come out when I don't check my comment before typing. Jessie by any other spelling would still tic me off.
I have spelled Jordan several different ways. I don't have a problem with spelling Jeff. : )
Lydia is name I haven't heard used recently. I wonder if it was her given name or one she chose for herself. Does she have a middle name? Has anyone heard her talking about her name.
I don't know if Kevin spells his name that way or with an en. I do notice he signals to his partner once in a while. At least I assume that is what it is. He probably isn't the only one with secret signals.
I have never heard the name Chima and am always correcting myself to say it She Ma instead of Chi (long I) ma
Yes,NRJr, I think the hg games are of interest.
Thanks
my word ver is kingi Does that mean I am King?
My wv is duckfg. Swear it is. Is it an anagram?
My name is obviously 'careless'. I just reread my posts and saw so many mistakes in spelling. I hope you all can figure it out. Mainly, I was saying I like their names. sometimes I like their games, but this post was not about how they play the game but what we call them and how to spell it.

good question. i hope jeff uses it to put nasty and steroid boy up. then the house guests vote ends in a tie. as hoh chima has to break the tie send nasty or steroid boy home. that would show HER true alliance.
wv fononapy if the above happens oh what fononaply it will be. -jeannemarie
Michelle and Chima are alone in HOH right now. They are talking noms. Michelle (the one who says she can't talk) brings up that if Michelle gets to F2 she can say her defining moment in the house was getting Russell out when she was HOH, that could win her the $500,000 (Michelle says) Then she brings up missing her husband to make sure she is non threat around men to Chima. Then Michelle tells Chima what a great public speaker C is. Obviously, Michelle is trying to keep herself off the block. It is fun to listen to, since Chima is being allowed to talk instead of Michelle talking over her(like Nat often does) Very manipulative of Michelle. No stuttering at all.

Thanks Sasha, it was a long 9-1/2 weeks but the light is at the end of the tunnel. We are actually back to the park walking around. He's still not allowed to run yet or get on the furniture (I'm STILL sleeping on the floor in the living room - sorry Petals, no sleepovers :) but otherwise he's pretty much back to normal. It was an awful experience and emotionally draining and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, not even "anonymous"! LOL
Thanks to all who asked and sent their best wishes. Peck on the nose to all your cats and dogs.
Nat gets next crack at Michelle. Nat wants Lydia to go home and gives reasons...none of which mention Jess, but some that are too personal to be "game'. Jess comes in and talks about his wishes and ends up giving his permission for HOH to make their own decision (notice how he always does this?) and ends it by saying as long as it isn't him or nat all is good with him.
Jeff should use the Coup and put up jess or nat. One of them would be gone and the other one would be so upset by the sudden change in fortune that they would blow the next HOH comp. Chima can't play in the comp so J and J would have a better chance to win HOH and get rid of yet another of Jesse's posse. In addition to that whoever he took off would be grateful for Jeff saving them and Jeff would be sitting pretty.
Jesse also went off on Kev because he didn't vote out Lydia instead of Kev. Kev said that Lydia was his only friend and he wasn't going to vote her out. Jesse is so dumb.
The hgs are up and ready and waiting for a food comp. Michelle says to Jeff that after they get through with the comp she wants to see him and Jordan in the HOH room. He says, "you got it'.
I'm sorry, Jessie, you are chopped.
Oh wrong game.
But it would be nice to hear that on Thursday.
I can hardly wait to see who gets chosen to be on the block this week.
wv: pholks I'm sure many of you pholks are looing forward to see that, too.
Am I missing something? All this talk about the other house guest telling Michelle who they want out and Michelle asking J&J to come up to the HOH Room.
Didn't Chima win HOH? What's the deal? Is Michelle now Chima's pit bull? LOL
Sometimes typos are funny.
By looing, I meant LOOKING ... but you knew that, right?
Yikes ! Michelle says to Jeff that after they get through with the comp she wants to see him and Jordan in the HOH room. He says, "you got it'.
8/07/2009 3:25 PM
Thanks for pointing it out I meant Chima spoke to Jeff. Michelle had been with Chima before Chima saw Jeff. I can't win for losing on my keyboard today. I need to go find something else to do.
Comp might be on now, the theme music is playing

Tired of our views and grammar being ran over by one person...if we say A that is wrong it is B. Please refrain from ruining BB blog with nit-picking!
Sizzie thank for explaining but don't give it a 2nd thought 'cause my fingers can't keep up with my thoughts ever.
Since I don't have the feeds I thought there might be something afoot.
my WV is embedus. I thought for a minute Michelle was in embedus with Chima! LOL
Lynn, embedus made me think of the counting game the other day!
Laurie I thought about that too.
Great minds....
Ronnie we are so sorry to see you go - NOT

I gleefully announce I agree with you Laurie and Siz
my wv us downe as in "dont bring me downe"
This post will be mostly off topic: Laurie, love the picture of the baby and kitty. Is that your daughter?
Joe, glad your dog is better. It is hell when our fur babies have health issues.
You should keep him off of the furniture period, even in the future. Labs (he looks like a lab) have tendency and are prone for hip dysplasia. Being over weight (which your dog does not look like from the picture) is also bad on a dogs hips, neck and knees.
Our Pebbles got heavy and now has neck problems and the beginnings of hip dysplasia. That is why I am so over the top about over weight dogs. Two pounds extra on a dog are like ten pounds of fat on a human.
Buy Doggie a nice pillow for the floor and put laundry baskets on all the seats until he stops even trying to get up there.
Now, as for BB, I hope Chima goes on a tangent and puts up Russell and Lydia. Then Jeff can make his move.
WV is untenat -- Ronnie has been made an untenat of the BB house. And that is cause for glee!
It would not benefit Jeff at all to not use the CDE this week. He needs to get rid of 1/2 of Nessie ASAP or they will get farther in the game then him.
Russel would not become an enemy because Jeff will have made his decision for him and Russ doesn't have to choose which he wants to be loyal to.
What is the point of having that power and not use it when he can? The floaters, Kevin and Michele are smart, Lydia, not so much but I still don't think Jeff needs to worry about them at this point.
wv: polar, I won't even go there
Totally off topic:
Hi Beckie, no the little girl is a friend's daughter and I'm her adopted grandma. She was kissing our kitten and I caught it! I love this picture.
Thanks for the idea of laundry baskets on the furniture. I need to do something to keep our dog off our new stuff!
On topic:
Margo, thanks again for keeping the pool orderly for us. I feel safe with you as the lifeguard!
It may be game suicide, but if I were Jeff I would put up Nessie. Here's the thing. Jessie had a chance last season. I really don't think he's deserving to be there this season, unless it was an All-Stars season. I would feel that way about any HG coming back. If Jeff doesn't think he has a chance to win, why not use it? Or maybe, just maybe he'd use the CDT, and win HOH.
The strongest block in the house is Nessie. Kevin/Lydia are wishy washy, and J/J are having a lot of bad luck. Chances are Nasty would be leaving if it was those two up, because they think Jessis is a BB god.
As it stands now, I think Russell and Lydia go up. Nessie want Lydia gone, Chima wants Russell gone. What would be fun to watch is Lydia win POV, and they put Jordan up. Jeff would take her down even if she was promised she was safe.
the h/hn comp must be broken up into three teams. j/j/l are sitting in kitchen and no one else is around. The are on inside ld.
oops sorry Michelle is in the kitchen now. Maybe they haven't had the comp yet.
No feeds were off for an hour---but no Have/Have Not yet...
WV is saffor Jeff is saffor this week...
PlaidChick, I feel the same way about Jessy or any previous player being in there. It's an unfair advantage for the game and for the team with an extra and experienced player. He got what he wanted, he's in the jury pool. I would love to see him gone. Not a hater, just don't like him being in the game this time around. (Not a liker, either!)
I think I've said this before, but I would also like to see Natalie stand up and play the game on her own. I actually think she'd be better without Jessy.
Sounds like I am in the minority but I don't see Russell being that upset if Jessie was voted out. He has said HE didn't want to make a choice between Jessie/Jeff....well, he wouldn't have to. If Jessie is gone the choice is made! Even if Nat. left and Jessie stayed I think Russell would jump ship to Jeff's group--that's where the numbers will be.
I know Chima threatened Jeff with making 3 enemies if he used the powers but Jeff isn't dumb. He knows that although Jessie's posse is friendly to him they would stab him in the back just as easily. It's only a matter of a week or two before Jeff/Jordan are going to become the targets....so when you have a chance to swing the power in the house to your side WHY NOT?! This is all JMO......
I'll bet if Nat. left Jessie would be in Lydia's bed that night!! He's keeping his distance because Nat. threatened to not speak to him...and, you know, she's really the only one that "gets him".
Love the pics. and recaps.....who needs the live feeds we got JACKIE!!
Latest news is that Jeremy Pivens was in the house...that is why the hour froth...wonder why?
The best secret alliance in the house would be if Russ and Chima had been faking their animosity towards each other. I don't think they were, but if both had been less emotional players they could have had a strong secret alliance. People have to leave their feeling outside the house to play the game well.
I agree with several of the posters today. Jeff should get Jessy while he can.
Laurie, thanks for the explanation of the little girl. She is darling! I would "adopt" her as a granddaughter in a heart beat.
WV astra -- The TH has found the astra players and votes going down, down, down.
Incubation for Chicken Pox is 21 days. First grader and baby, been there and done that!
Every time I turn on the feeds, the music is playing. But, a live feed board said the hgs were talking about J Pivens being in the house and it appeared they had not done the have not comp yet today. They may be doing it now.
It pains me to say it, but I think it is more important to get Nasty Nat out than Jessy. The girls' alliance is looming and needs to be broken up. Nat is a smart player and has done a lot to secure her and Jessy's place as leader in the house. I am all for girl power, but am not feeling it so much in this case.
Here are my predictions:
Chima will put up Russell and Lydia.
I have no idea who will win POV.
Jeff will tell Russ that if he wins POV he'll take him down. Jeff will use this week to solidify his alliance with Russ, especially with Chima having just stabbed Russ in the back, he won't be jumping on that grenade ever again. So Jeff and Russ will be solid.
Assuming neither of Nessie wins POV, Jeff puts them up. All he has to say is that he's breaking up what is obviously a strong pair. Period. It's now up to the house to decide which of the pair goes.
Chima votes out Jessie. But Nat can't be mad at her for that.
Russ votes out Jessie since it's practically his only opportunity.
Lydie votes out Natalie, obviously.
Kevin votes out Natalie in solidarity with Lydia.
Jordan votes out Jessie in solidarity with Jeff.
Michele votes out Jessie cuz she's smart.
Russ would be the swing vote, and if he managed to be stupid and vote out Nat, then the tie breaker goes to Jeff and Jessie is gone.
Aftermath: Natalie now only has Chima. Chima may worry about having Natalie following her, since that makes her more of a target. Chima may bail and go to Jeff's side.
Russ is with Jeff.
Lydia and Kevin remain irrelevent, since neither really play comps hard.
So how exactly does this hurt Jeff again?
This is how it will go down, count on it. Of course Nessie winning POV throws a wrench in and I'll have to reasses if that happens.
Former anon, I agree with you assessment. In fact, part of it was used in a reply as to putting a target on his back.

I just mentioned it, and it wasn't directed at anyone in particular.
An academic colleague of mine once took me to task for mispronouncing a French name (I just can't wrap my fat tongue around some of those vowel combinations) and told me that it was rude and insulting to ever mispronounce anyone's name. My defense was that it was a simple mistake. She responded that such a mistake was sloppy, lazy, and inexcusable. Sigh...don't you just love academia...
You MIGHT be pleased that I actually bother to read your postings and respond to them, rather than insulted that I don't always agree with you. Or not.
People are constantly harping that I post opinions/arguments in disagreement with them. So friggin' what? I explain the reasons for my opinions/beliefs. I stand behind them and accept when I am wrong and don't (usually) demand credit when I'm right. They are all just my opinions, as I freely admit even if I don't always include the IMHO.
Why the thin skin?
Hi Becky,
Staying with the off-topic:
Willie is actually a Great Pyrenees: 150 pounds at this point. The knee problem actually stems from his thyroid problem. He went from his normal 150 pounds to 180 pounds in about 2 months when his thyroid conked out. When we medicated him and he started feeling normal, he decided that he should go running with his 180 pounds on his 150 pound knees.
I tend to agree with you about furniture, for dominance reasons more than health reasons. He actually doesn't jump on and of the couch. He's very tall - about 32-33" at the whithers - and actually just sort of slides on and off. I actually think the stairs are worse for him because he sort of barrels ahead. So, for now, I have to carry him down the stairs on a sling. I built him a ramp, but I'm the only one who uses it! LOL
It was a heck of a summer.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Big Brother is the worst reality show I have ever seen. It's this kind of programs that prove how low TV contents are nowadays!

Hi Nana,
You could be right. My only point with Russell's comment is that Russell feels like he has a relationship/alliance with both Jessie and Geoffrey. As such, if Jessie got backdoored without him being consulted it is not likely that he would feel he could trust Geophrey anymore.

Jackie Thank-you for all the updates.

Jessie going home, by itself, doesn't hurt Geffrey. And, you could be right that it doesn't at all. But even sans Jessie, Geoff doesn't have numbers. At most, it is he, Jordan and Michelle against (potentially) Russell, Chima, Natalie with Lydia and Kevin who knows where.
It's all IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO about two things:
1) Do the hgs feel they can trust Jephry after the blindside?
2) How big a target has Jeph painted on himself?
At this point, Geoff/Giordan haven't even shown up on anyone's radar screen this week or last week. That's probably a very good position until the numbers get down to where Geph's 3 bodies are enough.

Exactly, If you are meeting someone and wish to show them respect and courtesy, you must have their name correct. You also must not nitpick or criticize them. That can be considered as rude as misspelling a name.
However...and you see where I am going with this, don't you?...we who spell Nessie in various ways are not concerned about being courteous to him.
I know that you know that we all know that. You are just playing with us, aren't you? I like that kind of game, too, or I wouldn't be watching BB.

Hi Sizie,
I like reading your posts. I don't always agree, but I don't mind a little disagreement.
Actually, you have completely hit the nail on the head on both counts. I agree with my academic colleague in some regards (I mean, c'mon, I was trying!!! If I can't pronounce the name, should I just shutup and point? LOL) And I know that there is no love or respect for Jessie on the board (with a couple rare exceptions). And, frankly, I don't mind you hating him or misspelling his name.
The thing is, I'm getting all kinds of grief (not from you) for simply expressing my opinion. And I have actually said that I like Geoff and haven't really claimed to dislike any of the hgs. Yet, if I DEFEND Jessie, I'm attacked by the same people who claim that my defense of Jessie is somehow an attack on them. I just find it rather ironic.

I know that is one of the by products of posting. But, Jackie is great at keeping us from directing our disagreement with a commenter and asking us to direct it at the houseguest. I, sometimes, forget that. Because, as you know, one slip of a sentence leads to another and before long we are all throwing word darts.
How would you be as a hg? I would like to think I would lay low and scope out where the power is and then edge into that circle. That, of course, would make me a floater. And, I don't much like floating. I don't know that I know myself well enough to guess how I would play the BB game.
I think they tolerate him for his testosterone. Not sure why because he's very arguementative and bossy.
Goe :)- me thinks you like playing the Devils Advocate. We are all entitled to our own opinion. Sometimes when it appears that someone is under attack including yourself the maternal instinct (with all the estrogen flowing here this is prevalent) we rally around and fight to protect our own. I don't believe anyone has any hard feelings, just sometimes hurt feelings. We must refrain from "attacking" one another and just have fun.
Sometimes my fingers hit the wrong keys or I spell something wrong - use bad grammar or the wrong punctuation, but I feel that my point comes across so let us not nit pick.
I was excited to see you posting again - but please stop trying to push fellow posters buttons. We all want to enjoy ourselves her in the happy place know as Jackie's Blog.
Maybe next summer BB12 will actually have interesting people and someone worth rooting for. We must make do with the cards we were dealt and live with these unexciting house guests.
I hope you will stick around for Survivor and Amazing Race - but I know school must be starting soon.
No worries

I just skip the comments now. It's much better and you don't miss anything. ;)

That pretty much mirrors my strategy, although I would call it "active floating"! LOL I don't think you can float for long because floaters are sort of always considered a group unto themselves and dangerous. I would want to keep my head down for the first couple of weeks until I felt I had some sense of who I could half-trust OR who had numbers. The problem with BB or Survivor is that you have to play it 24/7 (which must be exhausting) so I'm not sure how easily you could fake an alliance forever. So, ideally I would have a big enough group of half-trusts that could win enough comps to weed out the opposition.
I could never play it like ED or Natalie, too out front and aggressive. Hard to manage damage. I don't know, frankly, how Natalie has stayed so "above the fray" at the same time that she IS the fray. She's either been very lucky OR she is one of the best players I've ever seen in this game. I think we'll find out over the next couple weeks as the 3 equal sized groups battle for control.
I also couldn't play it like Kevin forever either. I just don't respect the waffling forever. I also thing that, except for Nerd Herd season, it is dangerous to sit unaligned for too long. Even Nerd Herd season, the dominant groups could have regained control and wiped out the floaters but they could never set aside their mutual hatred long enough to do it.
So, I THINK (can't really know till you're in there) that I would play it like maybe Dan last year. Goofy and nonthreatening early. Loyal to a fault later.
If they ever do a BB where you can bring your dog, I'd love to try!
LOL
I read over at Jokers that neither Chima nor Jeff will have a vote if the CDT is used, which means 5 would be voting. If Jess/Nat are up, then
jordan - jess
lydia - nat
michele - jess
russ - ? could go either way
kev - ? could go either way
I just had a thought: since Julie told them that the HOH and POV winner are safe, I wonder if she'll start talking to her crew about volunteering to be nominated so they definitely have the chance to win POV. It just might make the most strategic sense for her to put up Jess/Nat herself, especially if they deduce that the power is the CDT. That way both J/N get the chance to play veto and their fate is largely in their own hands.
I hope the stars align, and Jeff does put Nessie up against each other. Period!
Nasty might be the better choice to leave though. Everyone, if they watched BB10 knows Jessie's game. PC is right when she said we will see the BB10 Jessie come out, and especially if he loses Nasty in the game.
Plus... I'm tired of her non-stop yapping at anyone and everyone that isn't Jessie, Russ or Chima! Wait, she yaps constantly to them as well. Never mind!
Fair enough, Margo, and thank you for your input. Clearly I have pushed some buttons, but honestly, most of them without really trying. I mean, I have not attacked Geoff or Giordun (popular as they are) except to claim that Geoff has not started playing yet (which is not so much an insult as an opinion), I have not attacked any other poster, I haven't actually corrected anyone's grammar or misspellings. [One sentence generic mention of Jessie's name as the exception.]
I have espoused, as I always do, my strategy observations (IMO IMO IMO) which I know rankles some. And I can be a bit verbose, byproducts of years of academia and some mad typing skills.
But those are my honest opinions.
My only alternatives are to pretend to agree with the Geoffophiles (sorry, Petals, I'm out of the Jessie Posse) or stop posting my thoughts at all.
I know you are just playing lunchroom monitor but, honestly, go read the SYTYCD topic in this blog and tell me what button I pushed with "anonymous" there?
I think I'm going to go in the corner and take a nice long timeout.
Peace!
Believe it or not my wv is "follymon"...

Joe, I'm enjoying reading your posts, and we don't always see eye to eye (I am not a Jessie/Nat fan). You present your thoughts in an extremely organized and interesting way (spellings at 6:27) and you are a dog lover too!! I can see why Petals likes you so much.
Keep presenting your views. It would be a drag if we all liked the same people...what's the fun in that?

I'll give this a shot:

Aren't people sick of the whole big brother scene?
I am not a Nat/Jessie fan either. I hope Jeff wins it all.
