BB22: Live Feeds into Sunday - 8/09

Intelligent and intriguing conversation

So, what's been happening inside that Big Brother House of A Season Sans Shownances?
  • By the way, I am loving no showmances and the older crowd. Although these hamsters have played the game before and maybe got it out of their systems, I'm finding many of the non-game conversations less vapid and some truly intriguing.
  • This show advertises itself as a "social experiment" but over the years has concentrated more on getting good-looking young model types or characters. This season we have many in the house thankful that they didn't have to do a bathing suit photo. Good.
  • One really worthy conversation took place between Kaysar and Ian. It was a long one on how the brain works when a person is autistic or on the spectrum. Kaysar said the other day he was on the spectrum. Ian, probably due to the stress and no yard, is really stimming hard the past few days. Kaysar missed his calling as a therapist.
  • During that long conversation, BB was sometimes cutting the feed. I think it had more to do with whatever was on the other two cameras than the Ian/Kaysar talk.
  • Now, there's something off the feeds happening that may affect the house this season and I think I'm seeing signs it has.
  • Before the season started, I posted a link to an article about Derrick and Dan supposedly off the show due to Nicole F. saying they were pre-game strategizing.
  • That might be a bit off.
  • It seems that it might be Nicole F. pre-game or even off-game strategizing with Derrick to help Cody through the game. And, it seems like Dan is involved as well. Janelle even mentioned something that Dan said to her. Hmm.
  • Whatever is going on, it's not good for Janelle, Kayser, Keesha, Kevin, Da'vonne or even Tyler or Bayleigh.
  • Oh, well. Out of my control but I'll keep watching the bloodbath called Twitter for the skinny on it.
  • Meanwhile, back in the house ... as I mentioned in my last update, Enzo won the Power of Veto.
  • He doesn't plan on using it but did mention to Cody that they could blindside Tyler.
  • Cody's sights seem to be set on Keesha leaving.
  • Just from the conversations of many, it seems like it will be Keesha.
  • To me, although her voice on the live feeds makes me cringe and turn down the volume, it's a shame. She's a good competitor and we barely have seen her in action.
  • In the name-calling department, I mentioned in another update that Keesha thought Tyler was Taylor or Trevor. Now Cody keeps calling David Kevin. I can only wonder whether he meant to put Kevin or "Not Really Kevin" on the block.
  • More seriously, I think he does know which one he nominated.
  • They should get the yard sometime today.
  • I see no kerfuffles or brouhahas on the horizon. BB can probably give them back the knives.

I used to like Dani better

Get it together, Kevin!

Is rumored pre-gaming going to hurt?

Nicole misses the night owls

It could be bye-bye Keesha

Celebrity Big Brother 2: Live Feeds, HoH into Tuesday - Jan. 29

Not quite the NFL

Although not really a live feeds thing, I found this TV Guide interview with Anthony interesting. Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Silly Celebs:
  • Due to the HoH comp, the feeds were blocked well into the night.
  • Well, at least we saw the last one play out on the feeds.
  • However, I think last season's show has now had more time on the live feeds than the actual shows aired!
  • The feeds didn't come back on live here until after 4am! I had to flashback.
  • When they did, Tom was wearing the HoH necklace and key.
  • Kid Kato will be safe this week! Yay! I've gotten to like the guy.
  • From the promos I saw on TV and what the chamsters said, it was the go around in the dark house and get scared by evil things comp.
  • They seemed to love it!
  • Joey is very upset about something, not sure what or whom.
  • It's not about Tom because he said he's happy someone deserving won the comp. He thinks someone (who? who?) shouldn't be rewarded for bad behavior.
  • Hmm. It was something Ricky did or said. Joey told Tom he was glad he didn't take Ricky's bait and said something about babies watching.
  • ...scratching my head...
  • Tamar is also angry at Ricky.
  • That in and of itself doesn't mean much when she's had drama with everyone.
  • Tom wants to do one-on-one talks with everybody to help him determine the nominations.
  • I think he will use his with Kato to talk strategy and what would be best for both their games. They're definitely one of the better two person alliances over the years except for the fact they're a bit too open about it. Both are strategic players, do acceptably in physical comps, know the game and think ahead.
  • They were all exhausted but had to stay awake for the HoH room reveal.
  • Yeah, it was the traditional "Who wants to see my HoH Room!"
  • I think they were excited because it meant they could go to bed soon.
  • Kato thinks Tom should nominate Tamar and Kandi with Joey as a backdoor possibility.
  • I personally wouldn't be surprised if Tom doesn't think Ricky as a backdoor possibility. He hasn't said that. But I think he's leery of Ricky.
  • In what has become his Thing, after everyone left Tom gave us a tour of his room, photos and goodies.
  • He did not tell us who he will nominate. I think he has some idea, but will take the talks into consideration.
  • But I bet Kato is safe!

Livin' the dream

Whoa!

Tweets are not instant for chamsters

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - August 16, 2015

Good morning! Welcome to my weekly off television topic reflection of the past week in both words and photographs I've taken along the way! This post is a year 'round "feature" on the blog. If you're looking for Big Brother posts, they can all be found at this link right here. If you're not interested in this particular post, please feel free to skip on by it. I'll be posting a Big Brother blog party post coinciding with the East Coast airing of the show and, late this evening, another live feeds post. Stay tuned.

We started this past week with heavy rains and ended up starting a long heat wave which is expected to be around for most of the upcoming week. Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike heat and humidity? I got a Nixle alert on my cell phone yesterday telling me the cooling center will be open at the YMCA. I expect, if it does last and gets nasty, they'll open the one at the Senior Center closer to where I live in town.

But I won't go. I have air conditioning and fans in my apartment. As long as I can pay for the electricity (one of the reasons I work for a living), I can have my AC. I prefer the winters bill-wise -- my heat, hot water and cooking gas are included in my rent. It's just the summers that I have to pay more for air conditioning. The bills haven't been so bad this season so far. That old refrigerator I had was sucking up power. I've seen significant decreases in my power usage since I bought the new one. My new refrigerator is now almost a year old, but it will be new to me until it's old!

Life has been going as usual for me, nothing overly exciting, nor horrible has happened this past week. The new-ish neighbor remains quiet although I actually heard a television playing from there one night when I had my windows open. That's certainly not a problem. I'm just loving the change from the noisy screaming thumping family who used to reside there.

I didn't take a gazillion photos this week. First, it rained for a few days. Then it was hot and I just didn't feel too inspired with what I was seeing. I really have to head to the park. Maybe I'll do that on my next day off if it's not too too hot.

The pigeon overlord

Master of his domain, King of the Chotola (apartment building), Ruler of North Avenue in Plainfield. What if ... he's actually a government spy? Perhaps he's a camera with audio disguised as a pigeon!?!?!

Okay, he's just a bird. However, he's majestic in his own way.

Cool, man

I messed a bit with the colors of this way close up shot of a red hibiscus bloom.

Sad wet hibiscus

The rain came down on the passed bloom, making it even sadder.

Off Topic - That Was the Week It Was - September 15, 2013

Good Sunday morning, folks! It's time for my weekly off television topic post reflecting on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. While there isn't any television talk on this off topic post, I must stray to it for a minute ...
  • If you're looking for the latest Big Brother live feeds or show news, you can find those posts right here.
  • If you want to sign up for the Survivor: Blood vs. Water blog pool, that post can be found here. The deadline for that is Tuesday. Please sign up only on that post or by contacting Lifeguard Laurie at the email address listed in that post. No other posts or places will be checked.
Okay, back to off topic!

I had a four-day work week this past week as I took yesterday off as a vacation day to kick off my latest staycation. I usually work Saturdays, so that was an added bonus. The weather, after hitting 96 degrees early in the week, was down to a high around 70 both on Friday and Saturday. Yay! That's MY kind of weather -- cool overnights, sunny, dry and not hot! Yay!

Yesterday I walked downtown to the big Central Americano festival. It wasn't as crowded as the last time I went. But, then again it could have been the time I went or the fact that the last time I went there were actually two festivals adjacent to each other. Nonetheless, people were parked as far up my block to attend the festivities and East Front Street was a huge traffic jam.

While nothing much went on last week, today is my birthday. I'm older than I ever thought I would be had you asked me decades ago. I plan a day of relaxation for the most part. Big Brother live feeds have died down and I can actually rest. I could go to the festival which is still running downtown today, but I doubt I will.

Will it go 'round in circles?

Will it fly high up in the sky? I took this shot at the Latino festival in Plainfield yesterday.

Smile for the camera

This young mockingbird was with its siblings, but was the only one to pose for me up on the fence rail. The mockingbird parents have been very territorial, chasing other birds and even warily watching me for weeks now. There are five of the young 'uns. While they can fend for themselves, they still bother their mother for food by fluffing their feathers, shaking and crying out. Like toddlers, they are. Bridgewater Train Station.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - September 8, 2013

Good morning! It's Sunday morning. You know what that means. No, it doesn't mean a camel is going to walk around the office on hump day. It means it's time for my weekly off television topic reflection on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way.

If you're looking for my latest news on Big Brother TV show/live feeds happenings, my posts for there are at this link ---> Horrid Hamster House. Heehee. I'm just finding this bunch of them on the whole as rather unlikable this season despite fairly solid strategical moves.

At least we had better weather this week with a few days of absolutely PERFECT thrown in for good measure. I'm loving the cool evenings and the fact that we've seen the sun for most of the week for a change. The children around here started school this week and, while I have none of my own, I rejoiced. This means that if I go out and about on my weekday off to a park in Westfield or something, I'm not inundated with teenagers. I don't have to hear kids running around and misbehaving daytime in stores. No kids screaming in the hallways or parking lot of my building, at least during the daytime hours. Yay.

I had a four-day work week this past week due to the holiday. But then I went and ended up working extra hours just due to circumstance. (Grr.) This week I also have a four-day work week coming up as I'm taking a vacation day for Saturday leading into my next staycation. My boss asked me if I wanted to work my normal weekday that I usually have off instead. Oh, silly man! NO. I said I wanted vacation time for one day. That means I want my regular days off PLUS one vacation day off. I really need the rest!

Not too much happening on the home front this week. Vincent the Cat is still super spoiled and I wish I had never introduced him to Temptations cat treats. He's become an addict. I can't open a bag of anything without him running thinking I'm going to give him cat treats.

And, last night it was midnight before the Plainfield Police succeeded in shutting down the huge party with the live Mexican polka band right in back of my building. This time the police weren't all that happy that they were starting the music up again as soon as the police drove away. But, hey ... their backyard is about thirty feet from the bedroom windows of my next door apartment neighbors and about 100 feet from mine. Live bands playing (badly) all day and into the night are not acceptable under city ordinances for a reason! Bring it inside, rent a hall, whatever. There's a reason I would never live over or next door to a bar.

Oh, well. I've fussed enough. Onto the photos I've taken this week ...

Morning Glory photo IMG_9452a_zps2a5d8431.jpg
Glorious morning!

Might as well start it off with a morning glory blossom! These are still growing along the back fence of my apartment building's parking lot. Blooming every morning, closing up at night. Kind of like ME!

Google this!

Ohhh! Plainfield's Google Street View map is going to be updated. I was walking along East Front Street when it sneaked up in back of me. Yep, it had all the Google markings and the camera globe set high atop it! By the time I got my camera out and shot it, it was already a half-block away. Cool. Although now I suppose I'll be on the map. I hope they blur and slim me.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - September 1, 2013

Hey, all! It's Sunday morning, time for my weekly off television topic post reflecting on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. If you're looking for my latest post on the Big Brother show or live feeds, you can find that at this link. This off television topic photo post is something I do every Sunday year 'round. Thankfully, Big Brother isn't year 'round or I just might not survive!

Once again, I don't have all that much to report here. The weather's been muggy most of the week. I don't like muggy. I'd say I don't do muggy but I don't have much choice in the matter.

I do see some rest on the horizon -- I have two four-day work weeks ahead of me, then a staycation for my birthday week, the season finale of Big Brother and the start of Survivor. It's going to be amazing to not cope with only three or four hours of sleep a night. I forgot what that's like. And, today I can actually nap all day if I want as I'm off tomorrow for the holiday! Yay.

On the home front, all is well. No one stole my newspaper this morning, but it was delivered much later than it has been in the past. Usually it's out there by 5:30am. Today I found it on my fourth trip down at about 7:30. Maybe that's what happened last week. I might have given up on it too early and someone eventually did snag it. I don't use the front door of the apartment building, so it might have happened that way. Oh, well. At least during one of the trips I dropped off my rent in the secure mail slot doohickey for the landlord. It had that huge $5 increase for the new lease.

Onto this week's photos ...

Here's lookin' at you, kid

I ended up having a fantastic photo session with a praying mantis this week. More photos of her (I think her) after the jump.

These are going amok this year at the house on the corner of Richmond and East Front in Plainfield.
