It Must be the Pants! - This Week on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' - July 23-27

Late Show with David Letterman
It's gotta be the pants! I'm talking Worldwide Pants, of course. We have another week of all new shows ahead of us. One of these years I'm going to take a count of how many weeks off Dave actually takes. Of course, when he started out, the show only aired four days a week. Now it's on for five, but if memory serves, they double up on the filming one day a week, so he still really works only the four days a week.

Here are the guests we can expect to see this week on the show:
  • Monday, July 23: Drew Carey (Power of 10), Nikki Blonsky from Hairspray, the new version. Musical guests are Grinderman with a self-titled CD out on the market.
  • Tuesday, July 24: Paul Rudd (The Ten - not to be confused with The Power of ...), Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy, musical guests The National whose CD is Boxer.
  • Wednesday, July 25: Catherine Zeta Jones promoting No Reservations, comedian Bob Sarlatte, musical guest Porter Wagoner (CD is Wagonmaster).
  • Thursday, July 26: Sharon Osbourne lately of America's Got Talent and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
  • Friday, July 27: Anne Hathaway (Becoming Jane), Jim Gaffigan of My Boys, musical guest Buffalo Tom (CD is Three Easy Pieces).

In an unrelated trivia note -- On Thursday, July 26, Mick Jagger will be 64 years old. Oh, my. That's scary.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds News - Saturday, July 21

Yes, you're right. This isn't a Big Brother image, not at all. It's a photo of the Flatiron Building in Manhattan which I shot earlier this afternoon. As you can see, it was a stunningly gorgeous day in NYC!

Oh, but I'm really here to tell you about the events of the day in the Big Brother House of Bad Decisions and Those Who Make Them:
  • Kail cried on and off, sometimes more on than off. Dick tried to comfort her by telling her he didn't mean to make her miserable, he just wanted her out of the house. (Yeah, that's comforting!)
  • Shortly after the HG were blasted with Queen music, they were told it would be two hours until the POV competition.
  • The veto players and the ones chosen were Kail, Jen, Dick, Jessica, Zach, and Nick. Kail seemed to want a redo on Zach being chosen.
  • Eric hosted the event and wore a Mad Hatters costume.
  • Nick and Dick talked. The tides seem to be changing once again. Instead of Kail being the target, both think that Mike is more of a danger.
  • Kail thinks everyone in the house is scared of Dick.
  • Kail wants the house to target Zach. (I'm sure he's on the list. I think everyone in the house sees through the flying monkey man.)
  • The Jenstermatic won the power of veto.
  • Something happened between Dick and Mike in the comp. At one point, Dick asked Mike if he wanted to go on the block. When Mike said he didn't care, Dick let Jen have the win. (Remember, the feeds are blocked for the comp and we only get bits and pieces as the HG talk afterwards.)
  • Kail is upset. This time because Dick must have admitted he lied about something during the veto comp. Since part of why Joe went was the lying, this is a new fresh matter for her to focus on.
  • Amber cried.
  • Jameka told Kail she's her own worst enemy with her behavior.
  • In Kail's mind, she thinks that Dick will put up a popular pawn in Jen's place to make sure she's evicted.
  • Dick is now testing people. @@ He says that if Zach knows that he's going up next week, then Nick is the leak.
  • Dick said Kail betrayed her "best friend" Jen by campaigning against her last night to him.
  • Dick talked to Amber and Jameka. The plan is to put Zach up and make him the target, yet Kail stay under the assumption that she's going home so she'll be flustered for the HOH comp.
  • Jameka mentioned backdooring Jen in due time.
  • Dick thinks Jen and Nick faked not liking each other to cover an alliance. He told Amber his thoughts.
  • Dick told Jen that she wasn't his target. Duh. We knew that. I'm sure she did, too.
  • Nick and Daniele think Dick is talking to Kail way too much.
  • Jessica suggested that Kail threw the POV, doing so poorly so it makes her look weaker than she really is.
  • Kail thinks Nick is as bad as Zach, but has charm and is better-looking.

As I post this, it's a given that Jen will use the POV to save herself. She'd be stupid not to do so. I still contend that she's not as stupid at the game as she has been acting. While Dick indicated that he would put Mike up in her place, in the past he said Zach. I can see him putting Mike up because, in the long run, he's probably more of a threat. He's so quiet and in the background that he's a bit of an unknown. Zach, on the other hand, is too well known and would probably go home whenever put up for eviction.

Who do you think should go in Jen's place for eviction?

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds BULLETIN - POV 7/21

I'm back from the city and Jen won the Power of Veto. I'll be posting a full entry later tonight with more details, but you can feel free to join in on the conversation with fellow blog commenters in this post.

Thank you for keeping the information flowing, guys! Er, ... gals. I appreciate it!

Good Morning, Houseguests and Blog Readers! 7/21

Okay, I lie. They're all asleep right now. Not all that much has happened since I last posted. My latest update for TV Squad is in the publishing queue and can be found here a bit later today.

The NYC Blog Event is still going on today. If you're in the area, we're talking City Bakery (the one featured on Sex In The City) - at 2-4 PM. That's located at 3 West 18th Street between 5th and 6th. I have long red hair, most likely it will be pulled back to keep it from blowing all over. It may stand to say I could very well be the only older woman with long, long red hair pulled back in the place ... even if it's NYC. I'll be wearing a black Slaughtered Lamb Pub t-shirt. There, I should be the only one doing that!

I will not be dressed as a Harry Potter character although the city was full of them yesterday. I kept seeing witches, unrelated ones not in groups, as I sat eating facing the street yesterday. I know anything can happen in NYC, but I found it a bit odd until we went by the big Barnes and Noble store. Sure ... we pick a date that coincides with the biggest book release in history!

Oh, I'll have to tell you how blog reader Sydney risked our lives with the potato chip bag hand man later...

So... who do YOU want gone? Jen or Kail? You can choose only one, mind you!

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds, Playing Catch Up - Into the Evening 7/20

Sure... I turn on the feeds and this is what I get...

(For those who can't run the video, it's zuma, zuma, thump, thump...)

In a brief rundown of the more important news from today in the Big Brother House of What's That You Say, Mrs. Robinson, Your Alliance Has Left And Gone Away:
  • The nominations didn't happen until late this evening (my time, their time it was only around 6 PM) and, as I briefly posted, Dick put Jen and Kail on the block. Although this was one of the latter happenings, I'm putting it here first due to um... priorities! Keep in mind that until you read differently, the following events took place before the nomination ceremony.
  • Kail told Mike that Jen told her that Zach outed the Mrs. Robinson alliance to her (Jen).
  • Kail is worried, all alone in the world and her expressions range from deer in the headlights to uncomfortable to depleted.
  • The HG told Jen they're sick of seeing the unitard.
  • It's Jameka's birthday.
  • The food comp wasn't shown on the feeds, but seems to be one in which they played for various food groups.
  • Dick and Daniele had a talk in which he told her if Nick is playing his daughter, he'll kill him. She giggled and Nick told Dick he's not playing her. We'll see.
  • Daniele gave Dick a lot of speech advice. He listens to her.
  • Dick told Nick that if he puts both Jen and Kail on the block, that will divide them and Zach will "jump ship."
  • Zach, trying for Dick's favor, told him of the $50,000 deal he has going with Nick. Whichever of the two win the game will give the other the money. Dick reminded him that's against the rules.
  • Zach kept spilling beans on everyone in the house to Dick.
  • Dick told Amber that Zach told him he knew they were in a secret alliance -- Amber, Dustin, and Dick. Dick wants her to distance herself some and not blow his game. She cries.
  • The nominations go down, so from this point it's after Jen and Kail know they're nominated.
  • The HG got a grill.
  • Kail kept away from the group, so Dick checked in on her. As she went on and on about her failed alliance, he told her every move she had made was wrong beginning with making an alliance on the second day.
  • Dick said Jen needs a personality transplant and is merely a caricature of herself. He doesn't view her as a threat, nor does anyone else. He believes that's why Kail will be voted out.
  • Kail was so sure she'd do well in the game that she already had her Final Two speech prepared.
  • Kail is crushed.
  • The others play zuma, zuma...

Two, two, zuma, zuma, (thump), (thump)...

'Big Brother 8' LATE Live Feeds News - Noms...

I know I'm posting this late, but I've been gallivanting in Manhattan with blog commenter Sydney.

It's all her fault, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

The nominees are (drumroll, please) ... exactly the ones Dick said would be on the block -- Kail and Jen.

Latest on TV Squad

My latest blog entry is up over on TV Squad. Joyous noise, please! :-)

(Go read it -- it's not the same as I post here!)

Merci, beaucoups!

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds and Stuff - Into 7/20 Morning

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

While my favorite graphic arteest Zoetawny seems to think Evel Dick (or ED to his friends) is torn between a Kail and Jen ouster, I think it's purely Kail going home which is on his mind. He's told her on the feeds that he'll be putting her on the block.

He has said he's putting both Jen and Kail up, but I'm wondering if he might change his mind about Jen. His target is Kail and having Jen there might confuse the issue as she's disliked, too.

Before I get into the latest from inside the house, I want to thank blog reader ORKMommy for mentioning the latest HOH Diary entry from Jen on the CBS website. I hadn't been there yet although it was on my list. Oh, my. It's "histarical" as Jen would say!

Here's the news from that Big Brother House of Kail Scrambling to No Avail:
  • Kail is still harping on being betrayed by Nick and Zach although they clearly tried to steer her away from the Joe Stay Campaign and never told her they would vote for Joe to stay -- all but came out and blatantly said the opposite.
  • Kail doesn't have the same feeling about Mike although she personally confronted him to ask why he didn't tell her he was changing his vote. Now, that's delusional. I posted a YouTube clip on my last TV Squad article in which Mike told her he was going to vote for Dick to stay!
  • Kail told Dick she no longer has an alliance... she's all alone in the game. (She was all alone when she went on her vendetta against Dick!)
  • Dick told Kail that even if she wins POV, one of her alliance is going home. Well, perhaps that should be one of her "past-tense alliance."
  • In his HOH basket, Dick got Cherry Garcia Ben & Jerry's ice cream as well as another kind, Guinness stout, a Ramones CD, several photos (which he adored) and put off reading the letter from his mother as he thought he might get emotional.
  • Once he read the letter, he shared it with everyone. He was thrilled with it! She said that it was hard watching him, but he was learning and growing.
  • Dick told the crowd in his HOH Room that they all had free passes for the week, they knew who he was nominating and that he wants Kail to go home. Everyone was present except Kail and Jen.
  • The crowd watched Kail on the spy screen and Dick said, "Instant karma. You reap what you sow." (Now, it's not all a spool of lies, is it?)
  • Dick said he will be putting up Jen and Kail. We'll see.
  • Jen finally took off her stupid Jenitard and put real clothes back on.
  • Dick told Daniele that they have to be careful about seeming to be too close -- at some point they'll need to have a fake argument so folks will think they're not a team.
  • He warned her to be careful of Nick and what she says to him.
  • Dick told Daniele that Jen isn't as dumb as she thinks she is.

So, that's just about it. It's certain Kail is going on the block and she's the target. Dick says he'll be putting Jen up there with her, but I'm not so sure on that being a done deal. And, Kail is freaking out. She's all alone in the game. Too bad, so sad -- had she not tried to be the dictator of her alliance and had actually abided by their wishes, she wouldn't be on the hot seat now.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds After the Live Show 7/19

The reaction in the new HOH room for Dick was so much nicer than Jen last week. Dick was actually happy with his photos, letter from his mother, music and snacks... and beverages!

BB gave the houseguests the Off of Slop Finally Feast, so the women had tasty food.

As expected, Kail is freaking out. As I type this, she just got through lying to Dustin and Amber. She said it wasn't a personal vendetta against Dick, it was for her alliance! They all shook hands on the vote! (No, they didn't!) She told them without saying names that two of her alliance developed their own secret alliance. @@

Kail is sure that Dick will put her and Mike on the block. I personally think he'll feel he has to put her up for betraying him. The second is a wild card. Could be Mike. Could be Jen. All I know for sure is that it won't be Daniele.

Nothing too exciting except a frantic Kail trying to defend her actions. If she had listened to her alliance in the first place when they wanted Joe out, she wouldn't be in this predicament.

'So You Think You Can Dance' - Live Results Show 7/19 East Coast Updates

Now, this won't be AS involved as my Big Brother post, but I'll be updating the important happenings on tonight's show. Return as often as you wish to see the updated entry.

Sabra and Dominic and Danny and Anya are on the stage. One couple is bottom three.

Sigh... Danny and Anya are bottom three... again. I like Dominc and Sabra, but why? Danny is superb!

Jaimie and Hok, Sara and Pasha are on the stage now. Hok and Jaimie are bottom three. Although I love Hok, I'm so happy for Pasha!

Now it's Lauren and Neil and Lacey and Kameron on stage. Lauren and Neil are bottom three.

Jason Samuel Smith, a guest star, is tap dancing. He's reminding me of the guy on The Apollo who dances people out. Same guy? Anyone know? Forget it. I know where I know him from. He was in Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk -- I saw that some time ago.

Mia Michaels and Wade were nominated for Emmys for their SYTYCD work.

Anya is dancing to Tina Turner -- way energetic. Danny is up -- this guy is so gorgeous when he dances. Jaimie is up, nice. Lots of effort and technically difficult. Hok's on, doing his B-boy stuff. Amazing. It's Lauren on stage now. Better than me for sure, but she can go and I on't be heartbroken. Now it's Neil. Probably more versatile than Hok in a lot of ways, but I want Hok to stay! (Though I think the judges may eliminate Hok tonight because he hasn't been doing well with other styles.)

Enrique Iglesias is singing now as the judges make their decision.

The girl vote isn't unanimous. Anya is going home. The decision on the males was unanimous -- Hok is gone, as I thought. Sigh.

'Big Brother 8. - Live Blogging the Live Eviction Show 7/19

<--- Nick does his nail-biting thing just before the live show. The show is starting here on the East Coast. This entry will be updated throughout the show as I watch. Please forgive any typos or mispeelings. ;-)

The recap is over, but first... more recap! This time it's Daniele's POV Ceremony and being replaced by Joe. Into the reactions of Joe and thoughts about reactions to Joe being put on the block against Dick. Joe is talking to Kail and Jessica. Jessica doesn't trust Joe.

Eric chose the envelope and thanked us for wanting Joe out. Slam dunk, he says! Kail's thoughts of saving Joe have started. It's the kitchen confrontation with Dick against Kail. See? I told you he handled it calmly!

Now Julie is talking to the houseguests. She's talking about Amber crying. Magnus and Cragnus, Nick and Mike, are being questioned. Julie's talking to Jen -- "You've taken the uni out of unitard."

We're going to get to meet Nate, the person who came between Dustin and Joe.

More HG reaction to Dick and Joe in DR segments. Heh, Jameka is leaning towards Dick eviction, but I know different!

Julioe is talking to Jen about what my be her favorite topic... herself. Jen says Dick might be a lot like her. Now to the photos talk... she's fussing once again about her Memory Wall photo. Did you nominate Daniele out of jealousy? No, attitude.

Live vote coming...

Joe tells them that it's time to take action and keep their word. Dick hopes to stay because he's been so shy and introverted so far.

The votes are:

Dustin -- Evict Joe
Daniele - Evict Joe
Eric - Evict Joe --you can't spell America without Eric. ;-)
Amber - Evict Joe

But, first... commercial break.

Kail - Evict Dick
Jameka - Evict Joe
Mike - Evict Joe!
Nick - Evict Joe
Jessica - Evict Joe
Zach - Evict Joe

9 to 1, Joe is evicted!

:::doing my Snoopy dance here:::

Joe meets up with Julie and they're all hugging in the house. Kail is standing by herself looking uncomfortable. Joe says Dustin's arrival threw his game off. Julie wonders if it was smart to play the way he did. Julie spills the beans on America's Player. Eric in a pre-taped segment tells Joe about the bed ploy.

Dick in his goodbye, see ya. Kail the only nice one so far. Jessica nice goodbye. Zach a nice goodbye. Jen's is more about herself -- if you're their I failed. Dustin says he's not the same person, take care of yourself.

HOH comp is next, so it looks like Jen's mom backed out.

Comp is called "Getting Schooled" - welcome back to high school. Classroom subjexts as they pertain to their time in the BB House.

Dustin out. Jameka, Eric, Zach and Jessica out. Kail out! Amber and Nick out. It's down to Dick, Daniele, and Mike. Going to a tiebreaker round. Same number rules as usual. Round nearest hour -- how long has Jen had her unitard.

DICK IS THE NEW HOH! Vindication, baby!

America's Player - who must Eric work to get nominated for eviction? If we tell him Kail, he'll complete it!

'Big Brother 8' - Pre-show Live Feeds

The feeds have been blocked for most of the afternoon, but came on a while ago. The latest?

Kail, Jen, and Joe are bullying Nick and Zach (individually). That firms up Nick's conviction. He met with Zach in the gym. He said he's definitely voting for Joe to leave. Zach didn't actually verbally commit, but indicated he is, too. Nick says the votes will be Amber, Dustin, Daniele, Eric, Zach and himself minimum for a Dick stay, Joe go vote.

Oops: An added note -- during our feedblock, one of the things they do is take a trial run through the HOH comp so they don't screw up the timing on live television. They're not supposed to talk about it, but one wondered if all the HOH comps are going to be "fast" like this one. No one is studying anything.

UPDATE -- Jameka just told Joe that she will be voting for Dick to stay. She said it was (at least partially) due to his side lying and she can't abide by lies. She
had told him before that she would tell him her vote just before the show... she did.

<--- The HG sit around awaiting the live show. Most of them, anyway. Screen cap from about 7:42 PM ET.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Bulletin - The Absolute Latest!

Most of the houseguests are primping or cleaning house before their big live show tonight.

Today has been a bit uneventful for the most part with one big whammy of news.

Shortly after waking up the HG, BB locked them all in the HOH room. This was one of the most boring things ever on the feeds. Most slept, some primped... no one talked!

When they were finally let out, BB has the theme music piped into the house for them and we've been through a mix of trivia with audio, trivia with theme music, and actual audio and video.

Here's the big news:

Nick told Mike that Joe told him that he planned to put Kail and Mike on the block if he stayed in. It appears that Mike has now changed his vote and will be voting along with Nick and Zach to vote Joe out.

Kail and Mike were talking in the storage room...

K: "So, I should keep my word to vote out Dick even if it's a 9-1 vote?"
M: "Yes."

So there you have it.

'Big Brother 8' - The Latest TV Squad and Stuff!

Hi folks! I hope that we'll be seeing a Joe eviction tonight on the live show. I'll be here live-blogging the show at 8 PM ET as it airs here in the NYC area. Of course, those reports come through complete with typos and all, but...! I'll also be posting a live East Coast Update on the boot episode of So You Think You Can Dance when that follows tonight's Big Brother 8 show.

My latest feeds update is available over at TV Squad, in this post in particular. It includes a very telling YouTube clip.

After the hamsters get going for the day, I'll update you on the happenings. I don't expect today to be very eventful on the feeds, but you never know.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Into the Evening - 7/18

<-- Zoetawny's take on the Jenitard. Whateva! (Thanks, Zoetawny!)

I must say the tail and ears are a nice touch.

I still don't have a clue why the voting is live on tomorrow's show. Since they'v been in this format, I can't recall live on show voting while the numbers are so high. It's usually something reserved for when the first jury member gets voted out.

Oh, well. It gives them an extra day to scheme and backstab, right?

Here are the events into Wednesday evening from that Big Brother house of Ubiquitous Über-Alliances:
  • They played dodgeball, a game they play every day or two. Yawn.
  • Jen complained about the pictures she received in her HOH gift basket... again.
  • Jen made her HOH Blog entry today for the official website. I'll be curious to see if she knows how to spell. ;-)
  • Joe thinks his votes to stay are Kail, Jameka, Mike, Nick, and Jessica.
  • Of those, Nick will most likely vote for Dick to stay; Jameka and Jessica are on the fence. Oh. Joe has Mike and Kail!
  • Kail put a guilt trip on Joe about digging herself into a hole if he doesn't stay this week.
  • Jameka told Kail she should play the game in a way which makes her proud and not lie because it will affect her integrity.
  • Jameka, once again, refused to tell her voting decision to anyone.
  • Kail went on about Dick "threatening" her in the kitchen. Jameka told her at least Dick was honest with her and that she should refocus her attention. Focusing solely on Dick would destroy her own game. She also told Kail that most of the other people in the house didn't feel the same way about Dick as she (Kail) does.
  • Joe tried to campaign to Jameka. She told him he doesn't have the votes to stay. Jameka told him she can't stand lies and can't live in the house with them.
  • Jen told Joe he must stay up all night working with the backyard crew for votes.
  • Jameka made up a question game and several in the yard (including Joe and Dick) played.
  • Eric burnt a pizza and Daniele slopped her slop all over the microwave. (Where's Gordon Ramsay when you need him?)
  • Kail and Jen headed to the HOH room where they figured out that Joe won't have the votes to stay.
  • As I get this out to you, Jen is trying to convince Zach to vote for Joe to stay. I don't think it will work.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Updates - Today So Far, July 18

<--- My eyes! My eyes! Jen is barely in her clothing first thing in the morning at breakfast! Call the authorities! Hide the children!

Ahem.

I personally think that Jessica has a more attractive body than Jen does. Jessica, despite her ditziness and voice, wears clothing. Her bathing suits are normal.

Here are the happenings so far today in that Big Brother house of Battling Bimbos and the Mimbos Who Love Them:
  • Kail and Mike were the first two up and had quite a pow-wow. Kail is beginning to realize that they probably don't really have Nick in their alliance.
  • She went on and on about how Joe had no one and they've struggled so hard for him and may not even have the five votes.
  • They don't know where Eric, Jameka, or Jessica loyalties are.
  • Kail told Mike he has to work on Zach and Nick to bring them around.
  • They talked of setting up a secret signal to use while awaiting the live vote on Thursday.
  • Kail thought that Daniele's crying last night may have been due to Dick. Mike didn't know, didn't volunteer his own thoughts.
  • Kail told Mike that Jen told her she can get Eric to vote Dick out. (Not if we say he has to vote Joe out!)
  • Nick told Kail he didn't know why Daniele was upset last night.
  • Kail and Mike don't trust Nick and they're sure he'll vote Joe out.
  • Kail and Mike want to work on Eric to secure his vote. (Ain't gonna happen!)
  • Kail thinks Nick has three women who have fallen for him -- Daniele, Amber, and Jen.
  • Half of the time Kail is rambling on to Mike, he's just nodding his head.
  • Dick told Nick that Daniele was upset last night due to her personal situation between the boyfriend at home and her interest in him. Dick asked him not to say anything to Daniele, but thought he should know and wanted to give him a heads-up.
  • Dick confronted Kail asking why she told him she was voting for him to stay, then campaigned for Joe. He was relentless, but didn't go all kinds of whacko on her. He called her a liar more than once. She just got antsy and defensive.
  • Kail tried to use the situation to make folks vote Dick out.
  • Joe tried to get Jameka to commit her vote, but she wouldn't. She's not saying she'll vote to keep Joe. She's just being noncommital - "If you do have it, remember me. If you don't have it, remember me." Um, okay.
  • Jen worked on Zach to vote Dick out, but he refused. He said he can't be in the house with Joe.
  • When Daniele told Nick he was acting crabby, he told her both sides were pushing him today.
  • Zach told Nick that he was threatened by Kail, Jen, and Mike. Zach and Nick think they need to get Mike out of Kail's clutches.
  • Jen told Zach that Amber campaigned to get him on the block. Nick told him that wasn't true.
  • Zach and Nick are still planning to vote Joe out.
  • Mike worked on Zach trying to get him to change his vote.
  • Zach said he thinks Kail is becoming a liability. (What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson, Joltin' Joe has left and gone away... oh...oh...oh...)
  • Jen got her HOH camera, so gameplay came to a still for the photo op.

All is still up in the air, but we know for sure the vote will be done live on tomorrow night's show... for some reason. Maybe they need a time filler?

'Big Brother 8' - Latest Screen Cap and TV Squad!

This is a screen cap of what's happening in the Big Brother house right this very moment! Exciting, huh? ;-)

If you want to see Jen in her Jenitard-kini, as well as read up on my latest, check out my new TV Squad live feeds post. I hope to see you there!

And, as another note, folks in the NYC area... we're working on that real life meeting for the weekend! Drop me a line! Commenter Sydney is on the plane heading this way. She's going to hit some thunderstorms. (Sigh.)

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Report - Into the Overnight 7/18

My favorite Evel Dick as he and Eric have a late night talk in the backyard.

My guess is that America will instruct Eric to vote for Joe to leave. I don't think he had planned to vote otherwise. Eric has more down-to-earth and real talks with Dick than he has with anyone in the house.

Here are the evening and late night happenings from inside that Big Brother House of Nervous Nellie and Evel Jenius:
  • Zach told Kail he wouldn't vote Dick out. He doesn't trust Joe.
  • Kail told Nick that if Dick stays he'll come after her and Mike. Nick told her, "It is what it is."
  • Joe thinks he has Jameka's and Jessica's votes. They hinted he did, but you never know.
  • Jessica told Eric she's in an alliance with Daniele, Nick, Jameka and Joe.
  • When Joe told Kail he thought he had the votes, she told him she doesn't see it -- Dick would have to blow something between now and voting for it to happen.
  • Kail advised Joe to make deals and make them believable.
  • Zach ascertained that Dustin is still voting for Joe to leave. Yup.
  • Dick told Joe that he heard he's saying a lot of things about him. Joe denied he's campaigning negatively against him. Dick advised Joe to be careful of what he's saying so it doesn't do him in if he (Joe) stays.
  • Jameka told Jessica not to tell Joe she's not voting to keep him yet.
  • Amber and Daniele talked about Kail wanting Dick out. Daniele said that Kail is worried, but she would be safe.
  • Kail thinks they can get Eric and Nick to vote Dick out.
  • Kail told Jameka they have five votes (for Dick to go). Jameka told her they would need more than five because things can change.
  • Jameka said she doesn't like Dick, but the votes just aren't there.
  • Kail went on a quest to see who can influence Eric. Little does she know, but he's our puppet.
  • Kail told Jessica if she gets Eric's vote, she will get Mike's. Then she told her "if you rat me out, I'll rat you out."
  • Jameka told Jess, "Leave it alone. Joe is going home."
  • Big Brother gave them alcohol. Eric advised Jen to not talk strategy with others since she was drunk.
  • Jen told Eric that she thinks Dick is going home. Eric told her a lot of the votes were non-commital at this time.
  • Daniele warned Dick that Kail is campaigning to get the entire house against him. She told him to stay cool.
  • Dick told Dustin that Kail was campaigning against him.
  • Jen told Eric that Nick is part of the Mrs. Robinson alliance. She said she tested it when suggesting to Kail she put Nick on the block -- her reaction was a dead giveaway. (Maybe Jen is smarter than she seems.)
  • When Kail and Jen told Eric that Joe doesn't have the numbers to stay (amazing ups and downs here), Eric pointed out that Joe could win a HOH easier than Dick.
  • Joe told Zach that if he stays, he'll change. He also said if he wins HOH, he'll go after the weakest players.
  • Kail worked and worked on Eric to get him to commit to vote out Dick. He didn't commit to anything.
  • Zach told Dick that he told Joe that he will vote to keep Dick.
  • Dick told Zach he knows that Kail is plotting against him. Zach told him he'd tell her to stop because Joe was more of a threat.
  • Dick pointed out that Joe was still smoking after promising to quit if he stays.
  • Daniele told Dick that Eric is on the fence. Dick was surprised. (He doesn't know we have his back!)
  • Daniele had a crying heart-to-heart talk with Dick about not wanting to be in the house, worried about the situation with her boyfriend at home and her feelings for Nick. Dick did her best to comfort her. He told her the outside was real, not the situation in the house. She just kept saying she wanted to talk to her boyfriend.
  • Dick told her she can always talk to him and depend on him. He'll always love her.
  • Nick asked Daniele what was wrong, she wouldn't tell him.
  • Joe, Dustin and Jessica were spinning in the teacup after drinking.
  • Joe told Jessica he thought Daniele was crying because her father was going home.
  • The code for a Joe vote (according to Joe) is "Do you have a meeting at 4?"
  • Eric, Dick, and Dustin mentioned that they never see Mike. (Neither do I -- he's a ghost!)
  • Jen and Kail think they have a Dick ouster in the bag.

They're almost all still up.

'Big Brother 8' - East Coast Update - Live Blogging 7/17 Show

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

The show has started here on the East Coast. Return to this entry as I'll update it throughout the show. Do not copy and paste any part of this entry on other sites without linking and giving this blog credit. (This means YOU.)

We've gone through a recap and Amber crying because she loves the two nominees so much. Now Nick and Daniele is whispering. He told her about his alliance.

Zach thinks Nick is getting played by Daniele and is concerned for their alliance.

It's the America's Player segment. He wanted something fun, so there he goes. Yes, America chose Joe. He FAILED the task because he gave up. Now the shower talk... gee, I had better video.

Veto competition. Jen picked Houseguest's Choice from the bag and chose Mike. Daniele chose Joe. Dick chose Amber. Dustin is the host. Amber is crying AGAIN. Too much pressure!

Jen tells Joe, Mike and Amber that they're to take Danmiele and Amber out first. If one of them gets the veto and uses it to remove Daniele and Dick from the block, she will put up one of their closest allies. Amber cries even more.

Amber is telling Nick, Jameka and Daniele about what Jen said. Amber said she had wanted to win to save either Daniele or Dick. Daniele confronts Jen about the threat and how Amber is reacting. Now Dick is in the act. Jen is just standing there.

Joe told her that Jen after putting people pn the block for having negative energy, was picking on him and making Amber cry. Now Zach and Jameka are having minor words. Dick is trying to intervene in an Amber/Jen talk. He's defending Amber, but it's probably for his own purposes, as well.

Time for the veto comp... snow! The Christmas theme! "The Cutthroat Christmas." It's a curling game and the winner gets the veto. When out of the game, select a gift from other the tree. Ones who last longer can steal the gift already won by another. There are gifts and punishments.

Joe eliminated first. His gift is a Slop Pass. Jen is eliminated next -- her gift is her red unitard which she must wear for rest of the week. Mike is eliminated,,, lots of Dick commentary on the comp. Mike won a Big Brother date, romantic gourmet meal in the yard. Dick is now out. He won a plasma TV.

It's between Amber and Daniele. Amber choked and tells us she threw it (from the DR) so Daniele could win. Amber has to wear handcuffs chaining her to the houseguest of her choice for 24 hours. She chose Kail. Daniele wins the POV! (But we knew that!)

Time for the unitard exhibibtion. "The Thing 2," yells Joe. The chained duo, Kail and Amber, share their Diary Room session.

Eric is working on Jen to get Jessica up on the block as a replacement. He's failing.

Zach is questioning Nick about who will go up. Nick and Zach both want to save Dick. Zach pushes Jen to choose Joe to replace Daniele if she saves herself. In a HOH Room meeting, they discuss who should go on the block. Jen wasn't thrilled with everyone pushing her to put up Joe.

Nick is flirting with Daniele again. Jen is looking jealous. She goes back to the HOH Room and tell the group there she wants to put Nick on the block.

Daniele is worried that if she uses the POV it will affect her Dad -- he's the one she trusts the most in the house. Asks Dick why she should use the veto to save him -- he joked about their close relationship, then told her to make her own choice. Daniele gives a bit teary speech. She's saving herself. Jen, in red unitard, snottily compliments Daniele and chooses to put Joe on the block.

Who do you want Eric, America's Player, to vote to evict? The task will only count if our choice goes home.

Vote JOE, vote early, vote often.
;-)

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds YouTube of the Day 7/17

Yep, I've posted yet another video up via YouTube. It's been a very quiet day, but I caught Joe trying to convince Kail that he has at least four votes, needs one more for a tie, then Jen will vote to keep him. Yeah, right. You can tell by Kail's reactions and facial expressions that she's not convinced, not at all. Joe doesn't seem to think she's doubting him at all.
