BB19: Live Feeds into Sunday Dawn - August 27

Matt imitation?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Froot Loop Dinguses:
  • The caption on the above screen cap of Alex is because a good third of the time, Matt has his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth.
  • While Alex is making a face, with Matt it's a habit. It annoys me. Make him stop.
  • Now, keep in mind that Jason told Raven he would take her off the block if he won veto.
  • He won veto.
  • Raven thinks that he can't break his word because he has a Southern accent and a good Southern man will keep his word on national television.
  • @@
  • This is Big Brother, a game usually built on lies, deceit and trickery.
  • Or, this season, built on a bunch of people not bright enough to boot Paul.
  • Anyway, when he made the nominations of Matt and Raven, Matt was the target.
  • They planned on making Kevin nervous by making it seem like it might be a backdoor plan for him to go. Or, at the very least, he would go on the block if either Raven or Matt came down.
  • But now it seems like the plan might have taken wings -- Alex and Paul are pushing a whole lotta shade Kevin's way.
  • With Kevin, he talks to us. So we know pretty much where he stands. He's a bit leery, but unaware to the most part about the latest.
  • Paul talks to us, too. But he hasn't had alone time with the camera since the things started to change. I think he's still setting Kevin up for soon, but willing to go Raven or Matt this week.
  • Alex and Jason don't talk to the cameras (us) hardly at all. It's pretty clear where Alex stands. But Jason is a bit trickier to read. Is he playing along with all of this just to not make waves at the moment? Or, has he a bond with Kevin that he will find hard to break when push comes to shove?
  • Hmm.
  • Kevin certainly has picked up on the change with Christmas. Up until a few weeks ago she was all over him to the point where feedsters were screaming as they watched -- "He's married! Stop that!" Now she's almost blatantly avoiding him.
  • Meanwhile, Paul is trying his best to convince Jason to put Kevin on the block, claiming he's a counterfeit. I think some of this is due to them now thinking that Kevin might be an undercover cop like Derrick. And, not only that, but one who knows Derrick!
  • Kevin had said in his bio that he met Derrick at some BB meet and greet kind of event with his daughter. He told the others that he once met Derrick. Then Derrick made his show appearance recently. Now, all of a sudden, Kevin must work with Derrick!
  • Oh, geez.
  • I don't know if Jason will buckle, save Raven and put Kevin up.
  • I don't think he will. But he's definitely getting pressured.
  • Paul told Christmas that if Jason keeps Kevin safe (off the block) this week, their final four will change to include himself (Paul), Christmas, Josh and Kevin.
  • Hmm.

The boys need to team up

I wouldn't have predicted his survival

Nasty shirt needs to be burned

BB19: Live Feeds into Saturday Evening, Veto Winner - August 26

All veto players got shirts
... maybe because that's the only way to get Matt to change his shirt.

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Squalor Squirrels:
  • The veto players were actually picked last night -- Paul, Kevin and Josh in addition to Matt, Raven and Jason.
  • So, the hamsters thought the comp would be a night comp.
  • It wasn't.
  • Heh.
  • They worried for nothing!
  • The core group that aren't nominees keep going back and forth a bit over who they want out more.
  • But thankfully, it's still sticking with Matt or Raven.
  • Kevin is on the short list, though.
  • Jason wants to keep the nominations the same so one of them goes.
  • Raven has been asking people (Jason/Paul) to save her if one of them wins the veto.
  • She actually thinks that might happen.
  • The others are letting Kevin stew thinking he might be backdoored.
  • Well, the comp was the hide the veto placards, then go around the house ripping it up looking for hidden vetoes.
  • Jason won!
  • Raven is hoping Jason will keep his promise.
  • Heh.
  • Paul now has a new floatie toucan he's named Traybo. Or Trayvo. Something like that.
  • Jason also wore a floatie frog around for a bit. He said he'd wear it long enough to get it on television, then give it to his son Gatlyn when he goes home.
  • I don't think Jason will use the veto.
  • And, oh so sadly, either Matt or Raven should go home this week.
  • It's just breaking my heart to know that one of them will leave us.
  • They've both been such a big part of the house and of entertainment value this season.
  • Sniffle.
  • Ha.

Cleaning up the mess

Paul now has a toucan named "Traybo"

BB19: Live Feeds into Friday Evening, Nominations - August 25

I must win. I'm such a sickly waif.

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Targets and Tangents:
  • When I last left you, people were throwing all kinds of shade at Kevin.
  • Yet, that's not who they want out this week.
  • If he can't step his game up, he will be a target soon.
  • But the consensus of the main players is that Matt should go.
  • Kevin would actually prefer Raven out at this point. He tries not to be in the same room with her. Apparently just her voice has the chalk on a blackboard effect on his ears. He visibly cringes when she shrieks.
  • So do I.
  • Alex told Jason she honestly blacked out on her vote in the eviction and she was the second vote for Matt to go instead of Mark.
  • Hmm.
  • I kind of doubt it. But they do get all wound up for their private moment with Julie Chen. If memory serves, she stumbled over her words trying to get shout-outs out.
  • Then again, she might have just realized lying will get her nowhere and it's not such a big deal anyway.
  • Kevin had a long talk with the camera (us and his family). He thinks he's doing pretty good so far -- after all, he hasn't been on the block.
  • Yet.
  • I worry that his first time on the block will be his last time on the block.
  • Raven isn't only getting on Kevin's nerves, but Alex is on her case more and more daily.
  • I told you that Alex and Jason complained about Raven's cooking before. Well, now Alex is saying that Raven cooks way too much and they're spoiling food.
  • Hey, the cereal isn't getting stale with Matt around!
  • There is a controversy whether Kevin jumped or fell in the comp.
  • I was watching and it seemed accidental.
  • But I could be wrong.
  • Apparently Kevin said something to Jason about his wrist giving out due to weakness from a surgery.
  • Hmm.
  • Raven has been trying to get in Josh's favor and, gullible lad he is, he was believing she honestly likes him.
  • Um, no.
  • Christmas set him straight on that one. She told him that Raven is just using him and he shouldn't be listening to her.
  • She's probably right on that count.
  • The Tree of Temptation reappeared.
  • No one took the bait.
  • There are more bad things they could get than good things.
  • I believe the tree only has one more showing in the house before it's gone to seed.
  • In the end, Jason did the right thing -- that is, what I wanted him to do -- he nominated Matt and Raven for eviction.
  • I'd be fine with either leaving.
  • If one of them wins veto, the other will probably go.
  • I think both of them have worn out their welcome in the house.
  • We'll see who wins veto tomorrow ...

True love is popping his pimples. EW!

Paul is not his target. Not yet, anyway.

Kevin talks to us. Or his family. Or both.

Ohh! Fisticuffs. All in jest, though.

I'm nominated! I get more DR sessions!

BB19: Live Feeds into Friday - August 25

Into East Coast dawn

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Fierce Franks:
  • If you missed my HoH update post (previous to this one), it got down to Alex and Jason. Alex ended up jumping and Jason won.
  • After they went back into the house ... lo and behold ... it's (finally) the small table!
  • Matt and Raven aren't happy campers.
  • Sucks to be them, huh?
  • Maybe Matt should have tried harder to win.
  • I will admit Raven did seem to try.
  • Hmm. When Kevin asked Alex about the Matt (not Mark) eviction votes and she claimed she didn't remember who she voted for. Hmm.
  • Jason admitted to Kevin that the two votes to keep Mark were him and Alex. Kevin doesn't want people to think it was him (Kevin).
  • Yet Alex let Josh think it was Kevin.
  • Paul is "sure" the two votes to evict Matt were Kevin and Raven.
  • Now, that one doesn't even make sense.
  • Meanwhile, no matter who did it, Matt and Raven know two votes were for Matt to go. They, for the first time, seem actually worried.
  • Kevin told Paul the votes came from Alex and Jason.
  • They denied it to Paul.
  • Meanwhile, Josh and Christmas know it was Alex and Jason, but will pretend to believe Kevin was one of the votes.
  • What a mess for poor Kevin!
  • Alex wants everybody but Paul to think it was Kevin and Raven.
  • A bit late for that, I'd say.
  • Josh, once again, should get a penalty for violating his Have Not rules. He was eating something under a blanket.
  • The HoH reveal came late.
  • But was enjoyed by all.
  • Alex wants Matt out this week. So does Jason.
  • So does Paul
  • So, it will probably come to be.
  • But Alex next wants to set sights on Kevin. She thinks he's lying about everything and he's a cop like Derrick.
  • Interesting ... they've gone from thinking Kevin is a mobster to thinking he's a cop as the days have gone on.
  • Heck, I'm watching the feeds and I'm not quite sure what the man does.
  • But he's not lying about the wife and seven kids. I do know that much.
  • I'm sad to see him targeted (after Matt), but he will have to step up his game to stay.
  • That's the buzz ...

Please let them target Matt and Raven

Who wants to see my HoH room?

Scheming? Nah. Kevin story time.

BB19: HoH Endurance Comp Updates - August 24

When the live feeds return, this post will be updated with screen caps and news! Stay tuned. And, once it gets going, refresh the page to get the latest!

10:01pm ET - Waiting for the feeds to come back on.
10:07pm ET - Still waiting! There is a good looking adoptable dog on there, though!

10:10PM ET - We go from rabbits to the live feeds. All still up.
10:11pm ET - Kevin slips and goes down.

Kevin is down
10:15pm ET - Matt down

10:23pm ET - Josh down.

Auditioning for The Walking Dead?

10:29pm ET - We go to adoptable dogs/feed block again. I'm thinking they might be getting a warning to keep topics/language show friendly for broadcast. Back now.

10:31pm ET - Paul is actually looking the most solid. It's Alex, Paul, Jason, Raven still up. I don't think Paul wants to win this, though.

Christmas in her new church hat

10:45pm ET - Alex, Jason, Paul and Raven still hanging in their buns. Raven is (rather prematurely) asking what the others want. She says she wants a letter from home. I doubt any of the three want to deal with her. After she goes down, they'll deal with each other!

10:47pm ET - Paul slips and is out. (Apparently just after Raven went down -- I missed her fall from grace.)

Paul down
10:53pm ET - Alex and Jason are a hoot mock-fighting about wanting to be HoH. I guess Raven's still up -- she's all the way alone on the end. Wait, no. She's gone. I missed her going down.

10:54pm ET - Alex gives it to Jason. Jason is the new HoH!

Alex drops to let Jason win

Thanks for hanging in there!

Hamster watchers ready?  Let's have recap!

Julie certainly isn't wearing blue jeans tonight! Hmm, they said the battle for HoH begins (in addition to the eviction). There was nothing on the feeds page saying it would carry on after the show ends.

Julie tells us friends will have to turn on each other. Oh noes!

Paul talks to Matt and Raven ... they're talking about taking out Jason or Alex next. Paul wants to get Matt/Raven and Alex/Jason targeting each other. So, he talks to Alex next. Remember, he once had a final two deal with her. She thinks he still has it. I don't think so! Paul tells us he's worried if he takes Alex to the end, he'll get second place ... again.

Alex and Jason talk. They (foolishly) think they can trust Paul.

Mark knows he's a rat on a sinking ship, so he will try some talks. He goes to Jason. He's optimistic yet pessimistic. He will keep trying. In his talk to Kevin, Kevin makes it clear he's more annoyed by Matt than Mark. He's actually making sense talking to Jason and Alex. But when does making sense work in the BB19 house?

Julie talks to the houseguests. She notes Christmas has the cast off. She mentions Matt is wearing a different shirt tonight. Alex, any positives about the camp punishments? Fed the Have Nots. Kevin -- yet to become HoH. He wants bottled waters and a nice letter. Onto Josh's reaction to ZingBot. They get to see clips from the slip and slide with the sound effects. Julie talks with Jason about the news of his wife's pregnancy in his HoH letter.

Onto a clip of Jason's wife and family watching him get the news. His wife is cute. She and her (his) parents think Alex is the best partner he could have in the house. And, I have to say, Alex isn't hanging all over him ... or any guy. I personally like to see that!

Time for the vote:
Matt: Matt is an expert loser. He says he won a veto no one else wanted. He promises to eat cereal, shower and be a loser.
Mark: It's been a blessing. Hopes he makes Mom proud up there. Loves each and every one of you. Says Jason is a great guy.

The votes to evict:
Raven - Mark
Josh - Mark
Kevin - Mark
Jason - Matt
Alex - Matt
Paul - Mark

BTW - Paul and Alex are wearing tutus.

Mark is out, handles it fantastic. Not all that surprising to me as I watch the live feeds, he talked about what a good guy Josh is. Folks who only watch the show were probably shocked. Not that I want Josh to win, mind you. He's a goof.

HoH - Everybody is a Wiener. They have to stay in their (big) hot dog buns as long as they can. It's baseball game themed. The buns move around. I can only guess condiments will come. The sprinklers come on.

Please head to the post I've set up to cover the comp!

BB19: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - August 23

As the show airs here, I'll be live-blogging and constantly updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

How many weeks are they going to have Cody walking over the table? Yes, we're starting with a recap.

They say ZingBot is back and "more ruthless than ever." And, we're into the show.

Christmas tells us that if Mark wins veto, her next target is pawn Jason. Kevin tells Jason that he thinks Matt will go if Mark saves himself. Kind words go between Mark, Josh and Christmas. Christmas honestly likes Mark.

Paul goes to talk to both Josh and Christmas. Paul tells them it's probably better to not have pairs in the final five. He says that he'd prefer Jason go before Alex. They talk about the five being themselves, plus Kevin and Raven.

(Ew, Raven.)

Teary time for Mark, both reading a bible in the bedroom and in the Diary Room to us. He's lonely.

Time to pick players for the veto comp! It's back to the normal random picks. Christmas draws Houseguest's Choice and goes for Raven. She tells us that she blacked out when she picked her. Matt also gets Houseguest's Choice -- he goes for Paul. Jason picks ... MARK.

Jason is upset because Christmas chose Raven instead of Alex. Christmas tries to talk her way out of it. Does he believe her?

Mark tells his woes to Paul.

Then it's ZingBot time! I'm never sure why people are in such joy to be insulted! Oh my, Trump jokes? Kevin won't bow to him. Good.

Mark - Bisexual? Every time he tried to get sexual with Elena, she said "Bye." While Mark cries in the DR, Josh laughs.

Alex - Carries around a lot of dead weight ... Jason.

Raven - The clownitard, worst punishment ever. Oh, wait, just your face.

Josh - You shed so many tears this summer, too bad you can't shed weight.

Paul - Last season, you taught me friendship and stuff, like how to lose a half-million dollars.

Matt - The only thing you've done is Raven.

Kevin - Like to use saran wrap to preserve your youth, too freaking late.

Alex - Cat ears and wieners.

Christmas - No coal in her stocking, goes onto sing about her broken foot.

ZingBot needs help to get home, time for the veto comp.

And, it's the slip and slide we usually see as an HoH endurance type comp playing out on the live feeds. We did not see this. Christmas isn't allowed to play.

The whole theme is based on Trump/Putin collusion. Y'know, it might be best not to bring politics into this. Hasn't the show had enough controversy without that?

Jason is making progress -- he filled the little bowl and got the larger scoop. Paul is really working on the big bowl as is Matt. Raven and Mark just keep falling.

Jason wins the Power of Veto!

Jason's punishment costume is extremely over. He has a point about going bald and the helmet rubbing more hair off. Alex's punishment is also over.

Mark tries to convince Christmas and Josh that she needs him in the house. He swears loyalty and big moves. He points out Alex and Jason are liked by all, Alex should go because she stands a good chance to win.

Editing to make it seem like it just might happen ...

Time for the veto meeting. Jason saves himself. Christmas puts Mark in his place, telling him listening to his argument last night fulfilled her previous promise to him.

Mark tells us he won't give up.

BB19: Live Feeds Tuesday into Wednesday - August 23

Poor guy will have to live with Elena in jury

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House Acrimonious Animals:
  • First off, I've been a bit under the weather.
  • Second, they haven't been doing much newsworthy, so I didn't really have a lot to post anyway.
  • There have been no brouhahas, not even a kerfuffle.
  • Christmas did get a new boot, no weight-bearing for two more weeks.
  •  Raven created drama when she lost her bracelet.
  • Paul found it under the coffeemaker in the kitchen. No one will admit to hiding it there.
  • Oh, geez.
  • They horseplayed and the BB voice warning them NO HORSEPLAY.
  • I think it's the first year for that one. The BB voice SHUT IT DOWN has been used a lot this season. But that has been prevalent during past seasons.
  • Oh my gosh ... a whole lotta nuthin' going on in the house.
  • Unfortunately, there has been more going on here in the comments. SHUT IT DOWN! Keep the comments about the hamsters, not about fellow commenters. If someone wants to "hate" Paul or "hate" Cody ... that's okay.  You do not need to change their minds or tell them how wrong they are. The commenter isn't a better or lesser person for their choice of hamsters. I personally never understand how someone you don't even know can create such vitriol. But, stop it. Feel free to say what you like or dislike about the cast. But stop knocking the commenters/fans/whatever who don't feel the same way you do.

Yes, this is all of them

Hanging in there

BB19: Live Feeds into Monday Evening - August 21

Sharp dressed man

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Hellbent Hounds:
  • BB gave them some news from the outside -- the eclipse.
  • They gave them viewing glasses to watch it.
  • Some took advantage of the time to nap a bit.
  • I think it would have been funnier had they just surprised them with the darkened skies.
  • Sigh. I guess I don't want them to go blind.
  • I'm sure Raven will contract something from it anyway.
  • The Veto Ceremony (blocked to the live feeds) was held this morning.
  • No surprises.
  • Jason took himself off the block and Christmas put Mark in his place.
  • Christmas cried some crocodile tears to Mark about it hurting her heart.
  • Oh, yeah.
  • Sure.
  • Christmas is pretty sure they're due for a physical comp, although she can't play as exiting HoH.
  • She wants Matt or Raven to win so they will target Alex or Jason.
  • It's Jason she wants out more so than Alex.
  • If Jason or Alex win HoH, Christmas wants them to target Kevin.
  • I'd rather they not, thankyouverymuch.
  • Alex and Jason both fussed about how Raven cooks chicken.
  • It's too spicy and chewy.
  • And here I thought that cooking chicken was Raven's saving grace in the house!
  • Josh talked to us. He said his father told him to act goofy and like he didn't know what he's doing.
  • Here I thought it just came naturally to him!
  • Nothing much really happening with the exceptions of the "If I win HoH" scenario talks.
  • Oh. Mark isn't doing those talks.
  • He knows he's gone this week.

Eclipse watching (and napping, too)

Is he constipated? Could be!

Seeking the wisdom of the gods

Why is she even there? Who chose her?

BB19: Live Feeds into Monday - August 21

Who woulda thunk it?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Obnoxious Oafs:
  • In reference to the screen cap above -- in the beginning of the season, I pegged Christmas as a strong contender and Josh as a pretty much a loon. Who would have thought this team up would even start up, say nothing about still existing so late in the season?
  • Sundays are usually the most boring day of the week in the house -- no comps, just a PoV meeting ahead on Monday.
  • At least Kevin got his yard open. It makes a definite difference in his demeanor.
  • When the PoV is pretty much a given -- as it is this week -- things are relatively easy-going among the hamsters.
  • Yes, Mark knows he's the target and will probably go on the block and out the door this week. He hasn't really given up trying to stay. He's being nice. That's pretty much all he can do at this point.
  • Paul had an extremely long talk with the camera going over his strategy so far and in upcoming days.
  • He said he's "owned" every HoH except for Jessica and Cody. Yep, he has. Some viewers have certainly been vocal about him doing so.
  • But it's a feather in his BB cap.
  • He hasn't been on the block and everybody except Jessica and Cody have followed his direction so far.
  • Obnoxious dude or not, not many could have pulled it off.
  • Of course, that doesn't mean his followers won't turn on him. They're quite likely to do so.
  • In other news ... while Christmas, Josh and Paul want to target either Jason or Matt next, Alex, Jason, and Raven want Kevin gone.
  • Paul wants Kevin to remain in until the final five to give him (Paul) a better chance of winning it all.
  • Raven told Matt that she can't believe no one has targeted Paul.
  • Ha. She's been a part of that, hasn't she?
  • She also told Christmas about some new and different health woes she has.
  • I can't believe no one's targeted her! After all, shouldn't she be living in assisted care or something with all of her health issues?!?!
  • Christmas, playing on their agenda, encouraged Matt and Raven to keep Kevin nervous.
  • Sigh.
  • I like Kevin. He's been so different than most on the live feeds and has entertained me. But I do sense he's packing it in a bit and isn't going to give his 100% for the win.
  • Paul also continues to cast doubt on Kevin's integrity.
  • The latest is that he's lying about having seven children. He's not.
  • Mark made a few last ditch efforts to see if there's any way he can stay.
  • While Christmas told him she hasn't really made up her mind yet, we know she has. He knows it, too.
  • Christmas and Josh want the final four with themselves, Paul and Raven. They think if Alex makes it that far, she'd boot Paul.
  • Tons of small talk.
  • Raven loves Josh? Oh my.
  • On that note ...

BB19: HoH, Nominations, New Temptatiion Show Blog Party - August 20

As the show airs here, I'll be live-blogging and constantly updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

Recap ... Cody is out again!

Finally, the HoH comp has matches two by two figuring out "decrypted" clues
Raven vs. Mark
Paul vs. Alex
Christmas vs. Kevin
Josh vs. Matt

Mark is out. Alex is out. Kevin out. Matt out.

Second round -- Raven vs. Paul -- Raven out.
-- Christmas vs. Josh -- Josh out.

Final round is Christmas vs. Paul. Christmas wins thanks to Paul tossing it to her.

Mark is the target and he knows it. Alex thinks Kevin should the alternate. Now she thinks he's a cop because he said he met Derrick "back home." (It was actually at a BB fan thing.) She tells Jason that Kevin is shady and he needs to cut ties with him. Jason will go with Alex because she's his "ride or die."

Jason tells Kevin that he must have done something to Alex. Kevin denies it. Kevin asks Alex what's going on. Alex claimed it was all about him constantly asking about food.

Christmas asks Josh what's going on. Now, he was a partial witness to the Alex, Jason and Kevin kerfuffle. Josh tells Christmas that he thinks Jason and Alex are acting sketchy and they're good liars.

Jason's short HoH reign got him an HoH basket. He cries as he reads his letter. He gets the news that his wife is pregnant!

We get a bit on the Josh/Christmas bond. They do seem to truly like each other and care about one another.

Paul tells us he needs to attach himself with each power couple, the third to each pair. It's actually a good plan. It's a shame no one else is playing a thinking game in the house this season.

Christmas needs pawns to get Mark out. She's thinking of putting Jason and Matt up. If Mark wins the veto, it will be Jason. Kevin's name was tossed in there, but not the choice.

Oh, geez. It's a Josh and the stuffed owl Orwell bit. That happened weeks ago!

Whoa ... a big lighted tree in the living room! It's the Tree of Temptation. Five apples -- power or punishment. Once a houseguest chooses an apple, that's it. There are things like Eliminate Two Votes, Second Veto, Can't play in HoH, etc.

Mark, who really has nothing to lose at this point, claims an apple.

He has to open it in the living room in front of everybody. Save a Friend.

Christmas talks to her pawn possibilities to Matt and Raven. Matt volunteers. Christmas tells them if Mark wins, Kevin goes up. She then gives roughly the same speech to Alex and Jason. She tells them that Matt will go home if both stay on the block. Jason is up for it.

Mark talks to Josh and Christmas ... he knows he's the target. He points out the couples. She tells us that Mark made some sense in targeting the power couples. Hmm.

Nominations time. Mark has to reveal who he has chosen to save. He gives Paul safety for the week due to friendship in week one.

Christmas nominates Matt, then Jason. She tells Mark she hopes he understands.

ZingBot will be in the next episode.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - August 20, 2017

Good morning! Since it's a Sunday morning, this is my weekly off television topic post taking a look at the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. This weekly post is done year in, year out. Big Brother, the main draw for so many of you, only lasts about three months -- although sometimes it seems to be a lifetime. If you're here solely for the BB posts, please feel free to skip this post. You can find my latest BB19 posts by using this link.

I really don't have a heck of a lot for you this week. It seems like the majority of my commutes were rain-filled or high heat and humidity bearing. So, I didn't really take many photos and, you realize if I take photos of landscaping rocks, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here. I will say that, with all the rain we've had throughout the summer, everything is amazingly green and lush for late August. Usually by this time, the lawns that aren't watered are dry and leaves on some of the trees are even dying.

Some random thoughts this week:
  • I'm not as thumpy or door-slammy as many neighbors in the building. I'll have to work on that.
  • People seriously need to keep moving when they step off a train or enter/exit stores. Ahem! People are BEHIND you.
  • Amazon Prime needs to stop using USPS for their "guaranteed two day delivery" packages. USPS is the most undependable carrier out there. A huge part of why I went to Amazon Prime is the delivery guarantee time. I'm only home two specific days a week. If I order something heavy for home delivery, I time it to appear on that day. I don't want to schlep heavy stuff from work to home on the train.
  • That said, I will be re-watching all five seasons of The Wire for free on Amazon Prime.
  • Soon I'll qualify for less than half-fare on NJ Transit.
  • But I won't be able to retire due to the added ridiculously high expense of health insurance on a reduced income even though I'd have Social Security, my work pension and my 401K. If not for the work-related health insurance ending -- although I can still carry cheap life insurance -- it would be easy to make ends meet. If you can retire at 62 on Social Security, you should be able to get Medicare at the same age!
  • Grr.
  • I have two full weeks of work, then a three day work week, then my next staycation. I seriously need it.
Onto the few photos I'm posting this week ...

Please

Not only on NJ Transit trains, but in the employee lounge at work, too! Sheesh, I'm the one with knee replacements and all kinds of leg and back issues. Yet the people nearly 40 years younger than I am tend to not be able to sit upright with feet on the floor. They have to sprawl out and practically be lying down in the chairs. I don't even like to sit on the chairs in the lounge -- they're all feet grungy. I feel like I should sit atop a plastic bag like I do on street benches.

Let the sun shine ...

Caught in the sun's morning rays, this morning glory is quite splendid indeed.
