'So You Think You Can Dance' - 8/13 Live Results Show East Coast Updates

Well, this feels odd ... posting the East Coast Updates on the live results show on a Monday! It was more odd last week when I went to watch it and football was in its place!

I'll be updating this post with the major events of the evening and everyone's welcome to jump in with their comments.

An interesting rather creepy dance is opening the show.

One guy and one girl will go home and the remaining four will go onto the finale performance show Wednesday night. Debbie Allen announced that Cedric is indeed attending her dance school in September.

A special guest dancer, Titus, performed. Now they're doing solos. It's Sabra up first. (She's my favorite of the girls left.) Lauren is next, then Lacey. Pasha is up first for the guys, a very nice dance indeed. I love his personality although I don't think he's the best male dancer. Next is Neil. I'm liking him more each week. Then it's Danny. I think that he's technically the best dancer of the guys, but I'm no dance expert.

Oh, this is nice. SYTYCD is working with inner city after school programs. Cool!

Into a Krumping exhibition.

First girl into the finale is Lacey. The first male into the finale is Danny.

They're sending the audience home as the show isn't live. It was filmed last Thursday. Bummer for them! They didn't want the infor to leak before today.

Okay, Sabra made it into the finale ... as should be! Lauren is going home.

Rats, Pasha is going home. Neil is in the finale.

'So You Think You Can Dance' - Live Results Show - 8/02 East Coast Updates

The show has started here on the East Coast. I'll be doing quick updates on important happenings as they air.

Stay tuned.

So far it's only been the whole group dance, then solos by the girls. Now the guys are doing their solos Still no announcement of the bottom listing.

Sara is in the bottom two girls, Lacey is safe. Lauren joins Sara in the bottom two, Sabra is safe (as she should be!).

Danny is safe, Neil is in the bottom two guys. Pasha is safe, Dominic joins Neil in the bottom two guys.

One Republic is performing "Apologize."

Sara is going home tonight. Dominic is going home, too. He really did so much better than I thought he would this season!

'So You Think You Can Dance' - 7/26 Live Results Show - East Coast Updates

The show has started here on the East Coast. As it airs, I'll update this post with the big events -- the least votes, who's going home. Stop on back!

Some teenybopper heart throb sang. I'm clueless.

Bottom four is two guys and two girls. They will solo, but the solo won't change the votes.

Jaimie is the first girl in the bottom two. It's down to Lauren and Sara to complete the bottom two. Lauren joins Jaimie in the bottom two girls. Now to the boys -- Neil is safe. Finally! Danny is SAFE!

Dominic is in the bottom four (only two guys will be there with two girls). Left for judgment are Kameron and Pasha. Pasha is safe! It's Kameron and Dominic joining Lauren and Jaimie for the bottom four. One guy and one girl will go home.

Huh... Kameron danced his solo looking defeated. Now that all four solos are done, the news is...

...after the break.

Going home tonight are Jaimie and ... Kameron.

I'm glad Dominic is staying. He's improved so much!

'So You Think You Can Dance' - Live Results Show 7/19 East Coast Updates

Now, this won't be AS involved as my Big Brother post, but I'll be updating the important happenings on tonight's show. Return as often as you wish to see the updated entry.

Sabra and Dominic and Danny and Anya are on the stage. One couple is bottom three.

Sigh... Danny and Anya are bottom three... again. I like Dominc and Sabra, but why? Danny is superb!

Jaimie and Hok, Sara and Pasha are on the stage now. Hok and Jaimie are bottom three. Although I love Hok, I'm so happy for Pasha!

Now it's Lauren and Neil and Lacey and Kameron on stage. Lauren and Neil are bottom three.

Jason Samuel Smith, a guest star, is tap dancing. He's reminding me of the guy on The Apollo who dances people out. Same guy? Anyone know? Forget it. I know where I know him from. He was in Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk -- I saw that some time ago.

Mia Michaels and Wade were nominated for Emmys for their SYTYCD work.

Anya is dancing to Tina Turner -- way energetic. Danny is up -- this guy is so gorgeous when he dances. Jaimie is up, nice. Lots of effort and technically difficult. Hok's on, doing his B-boy stuff. Amazing. It's Lauren on stage now. Better than me for sure, but she can go and I on't be heartbroken. Now it's Neil. Probably more versatile than Hok in a lot of ways, but I want Hok to stay! (Though I think the judges may eliminate Hok tonight because he hasn't been doing well with other styles.)

Enrique Iglesias is singing now as the judges make their decision.

The girl vote isn't unanimous. Anya is going home. The decision on the males was unanimous -- Hok is gone, as I thought. Sigh.

'Big Brother 8' - The Latest TV Squad and Stuff!

Hi folks! I hope that we'll be seeing a Joe eviction tonight on the live show. I'll be here live-blogging the show at 8 PM ET as it airs here in the NYC area. Of course, those reports come through complete with typos and all, but...! I'll also be posting a live East Coast Update on the boot episode of So You Think You Can Dance when that follows tonight's Big Brother 8 show.

My latest feeds update is available over at TV Squad, in this post in particular. It includes a very telling YouTube clip.

After the hamsters get going for the day, I'll update you on the happenings. I don't expect today to be very eventful on the feeds, but you never know.

'So You Think You Can Dance' 7/12 Results Show - East Coast Updates

The show is starting here on the East Coast. As important events occur, I'll update this entry. Please refresh or return for the latest on what couples make the bottom three and who leaves tonight.

Sabra and Dominic are safe. Danny and Anya are Bottom Three once again.

Kameron and Lacey are safe. Sara and Pasha are safe. Cedric and Shauna are Bottom Three. (Let's see if Cedric gets by again!)

Hok and Jaimie are Bottom Three. Lauren and Neil are safe. (Although I adore Hok, the performance of Lauren and Neil was superb.)

The bottom three couples are now dancing for their lives, Anya has a neat outfit on, not my favorite performance of hers -- too busy! Danny was gorgeous -- such control! Shauna gave it her all -- I think she beat Anya. Cedric is back to his same old same old. Jaimie's dance was similar to Shauna's. Hok did his thing.

Hillary Duff is singing "stranger" while the judges make their decision.

The votes are unanimous, taking everything into account, not just the solo. Shauna is the girl going home... growth and personality issues. Cedric is gone. Too bad other dancers were booted in past weeks to keep him.

'So You Think You Can Dance' Results Show - East Coast Update - 6/28/07

Keep returning to this entry -- I'll be updating it throughout the show.

They opened with an African group dance. I couldn't help but notice Cedric was a bit out of step.

Lauren and Neil and Lacey and Kameron were brought to the stage first. Lacey and Kameron are safe; Lauren and Neil are in the bottom three couples and will have to dance for their lives.

Jaimee and Hok are safe. Sabra and Dominic and Jesus and Sara are awaiting their fates. Sabra and Dominic are safe. Jesus and Sara are in the bottom three.

Jessi has been cleared by the doctors and will automatically dance for her life. Jessi and Pasha are performing the cha-cha we missed out on last night. Nice! It turns out that she was very dehydrated and it threw her EKG results off. Pasha himself is safe!

Shauna and Cedric and Anya and Danny are on stage now. One of the couples will be in the bottom three.

Say what? Shauna and Cedric are safe. Anya and Danny are in the bottom three couples and must dance for their lives. "What an interesting night tonight. Five million people voted and five million got it wrong," says Nigel.

Lauren is dancing her solo. A strip act? (Covering my eyes.) Huh. I'm not overly impressed. Neil is doing ballet/acrobatics. A lot of energy, I'll say. Sara is up doing freestyle breaking. Jesus now dancing to The Romantics "What I like About You." A good job.

Jessi is up now - a robot/hip-hop mix. Well done! Now Danny is up making Neil's leaps look like an amateur. I think he's great! Anya is up, love the colors on her costume. I think she did well.

My guess right now, GUESS, would be Neil and Lauren leaving. But that's purely my personal guess as right now Fergie and Ludacris are singing "Glamorous."

The judges are up now. They aren't unanimous according to Nigel. He said none of them did well enough. Jessi is going home. Aw, she's really sweet on Pasha.

Now it's to the guys... Neil, Danny, and Jesus. The decision is unanimous according to Nigel. Neil was outstanding, so was Danny. Jesus has been outstanding all season, but because of the other two guys tonight... Jesus is going home.

Bye-bye Jesus and Jessi... and, boy, my guess was off, eh?

'So You Think You Can Dance' - 6/14/07 Results Show - East Coast Updates

Tonight the three couples voted in the bottom, er... well, three... will have to "dance for their lives" solo. One male and one female will go home.

This entry will be updated with important results as the show airs here, so check back for the couple voted off! Remember, it's not a couple, per se. If one member of a couple dances well enough in the solo, he or she will go on.

Dominic and Sabra are bottom three. Ashlee and Ricky are also bottom three. The final three is rounded out with Faina and Cedric.

Going home are: Ashlee and... Ricky.

Whatever Will I Watch Tonight? - Thursday, June 14, 2007

Today is June 14. Do you know where your flag is?

Tonight's television is a mixed bag. In the 8 PM ET/PT hour on CBS, there's a new Pirate Master. Now, I've tried with the show, but pirates were never my thing and the show isn't doing anything to change my opinions, me mateys.

Oh, but ABC has the entire primetime block filled with basketball special shows and then a game. Hmmm.... NBA or pirates? FOX has a new Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Yes, I am. And I won't watch that. NBC has repeats of My Name is Earl and 30 Rock. CW has a repeat Smallville.

Court TV has two new back-to-back episodes of Speeders in the 8 PM ET/PT hour. Laugh if you must, but I may watch that. The network sent me a sampler of the show and, if nothing else, it's fast-paced. You also must remember that Cops is a guilty pleasure show of mine. This is along the same lines with speeders and their excuses trying to get out of tickets.

At 9 PM ET/PT, my definite choice is the So You Think You Can Dance results show. I'll be posting an East Coast Spoiler entry about the boot for those who wish to peek in from another time zone or those who just want to talk about the show.

Also on in that hour -- C.S.I. is a repeat on CBS, The Office and Scrubs are repeats on NBC. The CW is airing a Supernatural repeat. USA has a new Starter Wife episode and TLC has a new American Chopper.

At 10 PM ET/PT, while ABC is still playing the NBA, NBC has a new Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. CBS has a Shark rerun scheduled. TLC has a new Wrecks to Riches. Animal Planet is airing a new Animal Precinct (about time!). But I know I won't watch any of those. I'm catching The Wire on BET. Since I don't have HBO, I've become addicted to BET's airing of the series. I know I'll eventually catch the Animal Precinct episode as they air them for years in between new episodes!

What's your television schedule look like this evening?

(And remember to stop back for the So You Think You Can Dance East Coast Update which I should be posting shortly before 10 PM ET!

TV Newsy Bits - Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Jackie's TV Newsy Bits It's June 13... do you know where your children are?

Tonight's a night which will be mostly filled with So You Think You Can Dance for me. Right now I'm not sure if I'll be writing an entry about the show or not. But keep in mind that there's a blog discussion post for the show right here. The season premiere of Last Comic Standing goes for two hours starting at 9 PM tonight, but I'm going to pass on that this year. I haven't enjoyed it so much since my local dude Rich Vos got booted. Um, yeah. We're talking the first season, I think.

In today's TV Newsy Bits:

  • Oh, I know we have some Blake Lewis (American Idol) fans in attendance here. People.com has a nice video highlighting his "sensitive side."
  • According to this AOL Television News article, Sopranos series creator David Chase says that a movie isn't a sure thing. Well, he didn't say "fuggedaboudit."
  • The Futon Critic is posting that America's Got Talent won its Tuesday night slot. I recorded the first hour as I watched On the Lot, but watched the second. It is indeed entertaining!
  • The Celebrity Spider has an article about the return of Jericho on CBS -- these are rebroadcasts of the first season and are scheduled to start the day after Big Brother 8 begins. (Does everyone know that date?)
  • Speaking of BB8... if memory serves, the initial cast announcements are usually made around the 20th of June. Hey, we're talking next Wednesday!

Yipes... Hok is going to dance! I must watch!

'So You Think You Can Dance' - Blog Discussion Post

Um... no. I don't think I can dance. At least not now. As a child I took tap dancing classes for several years. I could kind of sort of dance back then. These days I'm better off sticking to jazz hands.

But the contestants on FOX television's So You Think You Can Dance range from amazing to "no, you can't." While I'm not a huge fan of Dancing With the Stars, I really enjoy this dancing show. As I write this, it's in the audition stages and it's the poppers and break-dancers I enjoy the most. Now, you don't see that on DWTS!

Right now I'm cheering on the break-dancing Asian guy who was sent home last season due to his lack of a work visa. What's really horrible is that I'm forgetting his name. Oy! But I think he's a dazzling entertainer and I'd love to see him go far in the show.

I see Nigel has promised to be nicer this season. I also see he's chomping at the bit sometimes. Heh. If I were to go on the show, I bet I could make him be cruel!

Although I'm sure to be posting on the show on occasion, I'm opening this post for general show discussion and invite y'all to join in with your comments. The official FOX website for the show is here --> So You Think You Can Dance. Right now, of course, the contestants for this season aren't up... because we don't know who's going to make it through the Las Vegas cuts next week. But you can relive the memories of the past two seasons and return once the competition is in full swing.

Are you watching?
