BB23: Live Feeds into Thursday Morning - August 19

It's the half-way party cake!

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Halfway Hamsters:

  • The feeds were shut down for a few hours for the big season halfway bash.
  • When they returned, the cake had hardly been touched. Just Brent and Whitney were missing.
  • Britini ran around from hamster to hamster campaigning.
  • Lots of sympathetic head nods, but most told her they just hadn't decided yet.
  • Alyssa hinted to her that everyone lied to Christian and gave him the impression he was safe (up until they warned him he wasn't).
  • Britini continued to go around and around.
  • Derek F only jokingly campaigned.
  • There had been more talk about flipping the vote but it all seems back to the original Britini house vote. Or mostly house vote, anyway.
  • Sigh.
  • I'm not sighing so much about the Britini ouster.
  • I am just so sick of house votes!
  • This crew is up all night once again.
  • They had a forever session of The Big Blue Couch Show.
  • In the show, Derek X asked Tiffany to marry him.
  • She said yes.
  • Someone suggested they marry right now and mentioned Kyland is ordained to do weddings.
  • Um, no. That just might make it a bit too real!
  • Tiffany is now off her "Claire needs to go" kick ... again.
  • While some of the improv is funny and creative, it was way too long to hold my attention.
  • At least it's better than watching hamsters actually play chess.
  • Although, I should note that the chess board is being used more as a strategy diagram tool than a game this season.
  • That's about it.

Sometimes it's blue then it's white,
it's the Big Blue Couch

Fences mended, bridges not burned ... yet.

Will you marry me? Yes!

Unaware Derek F and Xavier
are scheming against him.

I'm nauseous and stressing out

So I will hug people and think I'm loved

Alyssa is so tiny next to Derek F!

I will hug more people!

BB23: Veto Comp Show Blog Party - August 18

Let's gather in the yard around the pool ... it's time for the Power of Veto Comp! Since this is a show post, it's in that dreaded NO SPOILER ZONE. Let the folks who just watch the show be surprised, please!

Remember, they were gambling in the High Rollers Room twist for a chance at a second veto. Each "winner" can bet on a veto player for the win. If the person they bet on wins, that veto comp participant wins a second veto. It can be used this week or next but only used once.

I will be live-blogging, updating this entry with the major happenings as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news. As always, the real party is in the comments area -- please feel free to join in on the fun! Oh ... and bring snacks and beverages.

Previously on and on. Let's get to the action!

We are promised OTEV by the narrator. Kyland tells us that he needs to win one veto. Claire, SarahBeth, Kyland and Derek can all vote on the second veto. Britini feels safe with Kyland as they made a deal. Or, so she thinks. In watching the clip, it doesn't sound like he's agreeing to the deal.

Kyland tells us that right now Claire is a target but he would also consider Alyssa or Britini. Derek F is a bit worried about being a pawn. He's going around telling people he thinks he's the target and keeps lying to Azah and Britini. Azah is a bit skeptical and doesn't think her team (although teams are over) is safe.

Tiffany tells us that she's not ready to lose Claire just yet. She talks to Kyland. Claire had told Kyland she would target a Joker, then Xavier. Eek says Tiffany, now she will have to talk up Claire to save her. It works. Kyland turns his focus on either Alyssa or Britini.

Veto player pick time! Kyland draws Alyssa. Claire draws Azah. Derek F draws HG Choice and chooses Britini -- now all three remaining ex-Jokers are in.

The Veto Derby bets: But, first they get a clue that it's OTEV.

Kyland -- Alyssa
Derek F -- Britini
Claire -- Kyland
SarahBeth -- Azah

It is indeed OTEV, this time as a jellyfish. He is reminding me of Jessie. They have to search for cards with a specific jelly (made up with two HG names) to move on. Get Jacked Jellyfish. Derek F would like Britini to win so they are both safe.

First clue first evicted HG when the veto was used. Derek F last, all the others right. He's out first.

Second, jelly of the evicted HG on a team together. Alyssa is killing this comp so far. Azah wants Britini to win and tries to throw it to her. Tiffany is not pleased with that. Azah last and out.

Third, evicted HG who participated in Massive Cocktail Comp. Britini up last. She's out. Azah threw it for nothing.

Fourth, evicted HG that was not team captain. Claire last. Claire out. It's between Alyssa (who, if I'm not mistaken) who has been first each time and Kyland. She tries to deal with Kyland.

Kyland wants to save Claire and throw to Alyssa.

In the fifth round, Kyland is obviously throwing to Alyssa. ALYSSA WINS THE POWER OF VETO. Kyland wins the second power of veto because he bet on Alyssa.

Back after the veto, Claire's punishment is over and she can get rid of the costume. Now Kyland's is over, too.

SarahBeth advises Kyland that she would like Derek F to go. Ah, but she thinks Britini is coming after her and Kyland, so she should go. Kyland tells Derek F that he wants to backdoor Britini. Derek tries to talk him out of it. He tries to steer him towards Derek X.

Kyland wants SarahBeth to give Britini a heads up. Eep. Why? Britini rushes to talk to him. She doesn't find him but tells the others. Ah, she finds him. All he tells her is that there are reasons. He tells her that she's unpredictable. He avoids the question about who will be saved. He tells her that was dependent on the second veto.

Britini cries. Kyland is touched by her pain, but ...!

And now BB goes for another cliffhanger.

BB23: Live Feeds into Wednesday - August 18

The HOH digital camera was in action

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Subdued Squirrels:

  • The feeds yesterday were mostly a whole lotta nuthin'.
  • Well, Tiffany gave Derek X a really bad haircut.
  • Hopefully it will grow back in record time.
  • Or, he can wear hats.
  • Britini tried her best to campaign for herself without campaigning against Derek F.
  • She has no clue that she is the target, though.
  • Derek F is still acting like he is the target when all the time he knows he's really the pawn.
  • Ah, but sometimes pawns go home!
  • Sure enough, Claire and Derek X started talking about flipping the vote.
  • Hmm.
  • Two Cookout members cannot vote -- Derek F and Kyland.
  • That leaves four who can.
  • If Azah could flip to keep her precious Britini ...
  • Hmm.
  • Unfortunately, Tiffany and Hannah, for Cookout reasons, balked at the possible flip.
  • And, it put both Claire and Derek X in the Cookout spotlight for eviction.
  • While both Tiffany and Hannah want to keep their non-Cookout partners, Tiffany is now saying that Claire would need to go next as she has more influence over Derek X than she or Hannah have.
  • Hmm.
  • Meanwhile, Kyland and Xavier were having their own conversation about Claire. They want to keep her the longest of the non-Cookout.
  • Kyland kept talking in circles.
  • I think he befuddled Britini.
  • He certainly can befuddle me.
  • They did do a Big Blue Couch show last night. At least it brought about some smiles and giggles.
  • I'm ready for this week to be over.
  • It would be so nice and add more drama if two Cookout members go on the block by week's end!

She can smile now and then.
Still hoping to stay.

Big Blue Couch time

Derek X mentioned flipping the vote to Hannah.
 Oops.

Hopefully his hair grows back fast!

No! It can't flip on the Cookout!

The Cookout is just about ready to grill Kyland

BB23: Live Feeds into Monday Evening, POV Meeting - Aug. 16

Awkward silence moments ensue

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Lying Lemmings:

  • There really hasn't been a heck of a lot of content so far today.
  • Forget the fact that Kyland was up all night "interviewing" others in the HOH room
  • Big Brother let them sleep in, with them not getting up until past 1PM my time.
  • And then, of course, the live feeds went into a lengthy block for the Veto Meeting.
  • Argh.
  • But it went down as planned.
  • Alyssa did not use her veto.
  • Kyland took Claire off the block and put Britini up.
  • He told her in what was supposedly a long convoluted speech (we didn't see it) that she was the only one who denied talking game to people when others all admitted it, etc. and blah-blah.
  • She is not taking it well.
  • Now, remember, her buddies and ex-teammates Azah and Derek know this is to be a blindside of Britini.
  • Derek is trying for an Oscar performance portraying the Woe Is Me, I'm Going Home Whatever role.
  • He knows he's not going anywhere.
  • Britini seemed to forget she was ranting about being nominated to the other nominee on the block as she went on about always being picked on and such.
  • She also tried to throw blame about the BB bucks on SarahBeth, insisting SB was lying and received the $100.
  • Of course, Britini maintained her lie and is still lying claiming she didn't get the $100.
  • Everyone is getting ticked at Kyland.
  • SarahBeth thinks he's on a power trip.
  • Azah and Derek F think that he could have made different decisions.
  • Tiffany is getting a headache from listening to Kyland ramble on.
  • I can't help but wonder if they will gather together once again tonight for a big house Kumbaya session.
  • Normally I'd doubt it.
  • With this crew, it just might happen.

Still lying about winning the $100 BB bucks

The epitome of thirsty laziness

BB23: Live Feeds into Monday Morning - August 16

Two donkeys surrounding Tiffany

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Dancing Donkeys:

  • Sundays are usually the laid-back day in the house.
  • Oh, no. That just won't do!
  • Let's hold more one-on-ones in the HOH room!
  • (Even though the veto/renom decision was made long ago.)
  • For those who missed it -- I don't know how that is possible -- the plan is for Alyssa not to use her veto. Kyland will use his and save Claire, then he will put the target Britini on the block.
  • They actually went and told Azah today.
  • Why, I just don't know.
  • Kyland told her it was because Britini had been voted for the $100 and probably would get it each week and win the power.
  • I say that's not it.
  • I say he's been pressured to not nominate others and yet others are in the Cookout.
  • So far Azah hasn't told Britini but it seemed to me that she was hinting at it a lot.
  • Either way, whether given a heads up or blindsided at the veto meeting, Britini is sure to freak out.
  • Right now she thinks Derek F is the target.
  • But if she goes on the block with him, I think she will realize she's the target and not a pawn.
  • Tiffany and Xavier talked about the Cookout and the relationships with others. Tiffany says she likes some of the others better than some of the Cookout. Xavier reminded her that their goal of the Cookout is to have the first Black BB winner.
  • Claire's and Kyland's punishments ended.
  • Derek X and Xavier donned Kyland's two costumes and ran around hee-hawing at everyone.
  • "This is very disturbing."
  • But funny indeed.
  • I really don't have much else for you.

He needs to stop having all these meetings!

Listening to Tiffany jury management her

Casting went less for "characters" this season.
A good move.

She is so tempted to stray from the Cookout

Azah wasn't around in the 60s

BB23: HOH and Nominations Show Blog Party - August 15

Good evening! I hope all is well with you and yours! Tonight's show should be the HOH as they didn't show that Thursday, nominations and, I believe, the start of the High Rollers room twist. It's hard to tell these days. Since this is a show post, it's a NO SPOILERS ZONE. That means no spoilers from the live feeds as some folks only read the show posts and we know the show is a few days behind the action of real time.

I will be live-blogging, updating this entry with the major happenings, as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Please feel free to join in on the fun there!

Sitting through the "previously on" segment. I just can't go back to the past!

We pick up the action and the backyard is full of musical instruments. It's the BB Lounge. The comp is "Name That Croon." It's one of the comps in which they pair each other off in a face to face. They have to tell which of the three types of comps -- HoH, Wild Card, Veto -- the song depicts.

The first random pairing is Britini and Claire. Claire is out. Britini picks SarahBeth and Kyland to face off. SarahBeth out. Kyland chooses Britini and Azah. Britini out. Azah chooses Kyland and Alyssa. Alyssa out. Kyland chooses Azah and Derek F. Derek out. Azah chooses Tiffany and Hannah. Hannah out. She chooses Azah and Kyland. Azah out. She's mad because he didn't let her win. Next is Xavier and Tiffany. Xavier out. Final round is Tiffany and Kyland. Tiffany out even though Kyland tried to throw it to her. She rang in with the wrong answer. KYLAND WINS HOH!

Tiffany is crying because she knows he won't nominate SarahBeth. Azah is mad because he had agreed to throw the comp to her and didn't. Well, perhaps she should have tried to win for herself? She is worried that Britini will go home. Xavier tries to console the miserable.

And, gee, Derek F is giving Kyland game advice. Kyland tells him that Claire, Alyssa and Britini could be targets. Tiffany tells Xavier she is worried that Claire will go on the block. Tiffany tells him that she feels closer to some outside the Cookout than in it.

Azah talks to Kyland. He tells her (when she asks) that he kept picking her to go up because of her tight ties with Britini. She demands to speak of her feelings. She's very salty for someone who hasn't won anything, isn't she? She thinks he's thinking of his own game while he claims he's looking out for the Cookout Six.

Claire talks to Kyland. She hasn't talked much to him the past few weeks. She offers to help him by voting the way he wants. She suggests a Joker or Xavier. Derek F talks to him. He is suggesting all non-Cookout members and SarahBeth as a pawn. No way. Kyland suggests putting Britini on the block and Derek F balks at that. Kyland asks him if he would go up as a pawn and he reluctantly agrees to protect Britini and Azah.

Nomination ceremony -- Kyland first nominates Claire, then Derek F. He says actions taken in yesterday's comp caused him to re-evaluate his position in the house.

Azah is confused. Derek F tells us he isn't telling them that he's a pawn because they would slip up and say something. Tiffany is upset that Claire is up there, especially with a Cookout member.

The High Rollers Room is open! It's a casino. They can gamble for greatness. They can bet on $50 is Veto Derby betting on one player to win veto and getting a second veto, $125 can remove a nominee, $250 coin of destiny, call coin toss and overthrow the HOH.

Sarahbeth - 50, uses it to play veto derby which entails sliding a cup down a shuffleboard lane. She will receive the number of points she earns in three shots.
Hannah - 75, saves money
Xavier - 75, saves money
Britini - 100, saves money
Azah - 50, saves
Alyssa - 50, saves
Kyland - 50, plays the veto derby
Tiffany - 75, plays the veto derby, all  three fall
Derek X - 100, saves money
Derek F - 100, plays the veto derby
Claire - 50, plays veto derby

Kyland calls all to the living room. The results of the veto derby --
1st - Kyland
2nd - Derek F
3rd - Claire
4th - SarahBeth
They can place their bets after the veto players get drawn.

And that's it ...

BB23: Live Feeds into Sunday Morning - August 15

Oh noes! There's WHEAT in this!

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Veto Voles:

  • While Azah pretty much admitted that she threw the veto comp to Britini (who didn't win anyway), Kyland denies he threw the comp to Alyssa (which the others think is very obvious).
  • Yes, he wanted Alyssa to win the veto.
  • Since he bet on her in the High Rollers Room, he would have a veto for himself.
  • Plus, he has plans for the veto.
  • He has asked Alyssa not to use it but has not told her of his plan to blindside Britini. She agrees the less she knows, the better. She promised him she won't use it.
  • He wants to go first in the veto meeting to make her move (or lack thereof) less demanding.
  • Meanwhile, Derek F knows what he plans to do and is okay with it.
  • Derek F wants to tell Azah, though.
  • That would be a big mistake, methinks.
  • Xavier, Tiffany and Claire know the plan.
  • Kyland told Claire after the comp that he will indeed be saving her.
  • He is still denying that he threw the comp, though. He keeps saying he was a bit confused looking at two cards in the comp, looked up and saw Alyssa running to OTEV.
  • Yeah, right.
  • Unless Derek F tells Azah and she feels the need to tell Britini, which would probably be the case, today should be quiet.
  • Fireworks are expected tomorrow after the veto meeting.
  • Even though Derek F is walking around acting like he's the target this week, Britini will surely freak over being on the block again.

Wonder bread? Really, BB?

Currently has no idea she is to be blindsided

Safe only due to Kyland's reign of power this week

Privy to the blindside

BB23: Live Feeds POV Bulletin - August 14

Oh geez ... the Power of Veto was over with rather quickly. It seems just about everyone is upset, except the winner.

Azah and Derek F are mad, feel they have been targeted. Claire says she will never trust Kyland again. Derek X is mad and says that Kyland is playing a good game ... for himself. Tiffany says she thinks he will take Claire off.

And Alyssa has the second veto?

Oh my.

Kyland is telling Derek F that he will use the veto to save Claire and put  Britini up with him on the block and that Alyssa will not use her veto.

Okay, so it was Alyssa who won the actual veto from the comp. It was indeed OTEV. Kyland won the second veto because he had bet on Alyssa to win.

BB23: Live Feeds into Saturday Evening - August 14

They yawn, I yawn

Here is the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Confusing Cougars:

  • Okay, I'm getting all kinds of discombobulated here.
  • Befuddled, as well.
  • I have no problem understanding that they drew players for the veto comp.
  • In addition to Kyland, Claire and Derek F we have Azah, Britini and Alyssa. Hmm.
  • But then that High Rollers twist bit steps in.
  • It seems they could bet on people to win and one could win a second veto? They could use it this week or next.
  • I find that a bit perplexing!
  • I think I might have to drag out my Thesaurus!
  • From my understanding (or lack thereof): Derek F chose Britini, Kyland chose Alyssa, SarahBeth chose Azah, Claire chose Kyland.
  • The rest of the hamsters didn't bet, perhaps saving their BB bucks for a better prize bet.
  • I guess.
  • Or, maybe the $50 people didn't have enough?
  • I find myself a bit bewildered.
  • It was a feeds block frenzy once again today.
  • After one, they came back talking about OTEV. I don't know if they were told that would be the comp or whether they just got it in their heads that it could be.
  • Some are saying it's too early for it, others saying it isn't.
  • I'm baffled.
  • The target this week seems to be Britini, thank you to Xavier and Tiffany for pushing that to save Claire.
  • What?
  • Britini's not a nomination!
  • But she is a picked at random veto player.
  • If she puts her mind to it like she did to save her own butt and saves Claire (or even Derek F although he's a pawn but has been very nice to her), who would go up?
  • Will there be more nominees because of the second veto?
  • Argh!
  • I find it all quite puzzling.

What the heck is going on?!?!

Will his talk go 'round in circles?

If not for the Cookout, it would be
her, Claire and Derek X

Probably won't win, but he's a winner anyway

Says she only got the $50 for High Rollers

Seriously ... now is the time to win comps, Claire!

BB23: Live Feeds into Saturday Morning - August 14

KITTEHS!!! Saw most of the day it seems ...

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Gambling Gremlins:

  • After all the tedious one-on-one meetings by Kyland as he tried to decide on nominations, it seemed to come down to Claire and Britini.
  • But then Derek F valiantly stepped in front of the speeding train of broken hamster dreams, offering to be the pawn in place of Britini.
  • Valiant? Hmm. He says he doesn't want Britini to go through being on the block again.
  • Maybe. If so, it will be one of the few worthwhile kind things he's done in the house. And, I'm sure that's at least a part of his reasoning for volunteering to be a pawn.
  • But, you see, I've watched him all season talking about how he would be happy just to make it to jury, has nothing at home to return to and on and on. He knows the likelihood of him winning a comp is just about nil. He realizes that physical comps just aren't his thing and he's failed at the mental comps, too. A paid vacation in the jury house sounds great to him!
  • In a fair and just world, the person wanting to stay and play the game would stay while the one who already thinks he won't win will go to jury.
  • Alas, then there's the Cookout.
  • Any non-Cookout hamster up with Derek F is almost certainly going to be voted out.
  • The nominations are Derek F and Claire.
  • Wah.
  • So much of yesterday was kittens and puppies between the nominations block and then the really extended block for the new High Rollers twist.
  • The hamsters know there are three levels of $$$ and that America is voting on who gets how much.
  • So ... it gives them an idea who America really likes.
  • As a result, most are not talking or are lying about how much they got.
  • Derek X told Hannah he got $100, the highest amount. I believe it.
  • It sounds like Derek F (?!?!?!) and Britini may have been the other "big" winners.
  • It sounds like many accepted or bet on the powers, but I really can't divulge much about the powers.
  • Um. I can't divulge because I am so confused! There was something about a second veto that I just don't understand. I guess we will have to wait until the show for clarification.
  • Meanwhile, it seems that Hannah and Tiffany really don't want Claire out this week. If they had their way, SarahBeth would win veto, save Claire and Britini would go up and out.
  • That's because, of course, they just cannot vote out fellow Cookout member, Derek F!
  • They were saying no one else was really mentioning Claire as a target right now and it was all Kyland.
  • Grr.
  • The veto comp will be later today.
  • A lot will hinge on the winner of that comp.
  • Please let it be Claire!

Her fate is in the cards

Still bereft

No, I don't want to be your pawn!

Um. Okay. Whatever.

And then a donkey led them ...

Exactly how I felt watching them yesterday

BB23: Live Feeds Nominations Bulletin - August 13

After a fairly lengthy live feeds blocking with those adorable adoptable little critters, the critters in the BB house returned.

And, the nominations are in.

Claire and Derek F.

I'd be happy about the second one there as, to me, he's a waste of space in the house. I also don't care for his demeanor at all. Except for his occasional thoughtful consoling someone, he can get outright nasty. Unfortunately, he's sure to be the pawn this week.

BB23: Live Feeds into Friday Morning - August 13

Looking for divine guidance?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Hungry Hippos:

  • They NEED to go to bed.
  • They have been up ALL night.
  • What's up with that?
  • You can tell the HOH comp was not physical or they would be tired.
  • As you know from my brief bulletin, Kyland is the new HOH.
  • Kyland said he was told nominations would be at 10:30AM (1:30PM here) and BB would probably get them up by 8:00.
  • THEN GO TO BED, FOOLS!
  • Now Derek F who has been saying he needed to compete in a mental comp is saying he needs a physical comp.
  • I don't know. From my observations the comps he could excel at include sitting, laying about on various objects, pillow hugging, complaining about others, being sexist, often being bossy and possibly cooking.
  • Tiffany apparently did so poorly in the comp that she says Detroit and her family won't want her back.
  • Yes, the comp was blocked to the live feeds.
  • It was a question and answer type comp with each winner of a round choosing the next two to face off. These comps can be very telling in the choices made.
  • It sounds like Kyland actually tried to throw the comp to Tiffany, but she got the answer wrong all on her own.
  • That's probably why she is so embarrassed of her performance in the comp! It was being given to her on a silver platter and she screwed it up.
  • From a chess strategy talk with Derek F, it sounds like Kyland will nominate Britini and Claire.
  • Sigh.
  • Of course, a Kyland win upsets any and all who wanted SarahBeth out this week.
  • That means only Kyland and Xavier are happy.
  • However, the change in tides brought Tiffany and Azah back together!
  • Azah is upset because Britini will probably be out before SarahBeth and Tiffany SO wanted SarahBeth out over Christian that she jeopardized her own game last week trying to save him.
  • Me? I'm not so vested in SarahBeth. I do like Claire and want to see her stay longer.
  • Britini? Um. Well. She runs hot and cold. She's loud. She's emotional. She's not my favorite hamster in the house. But I don't necessarily want her out at the moment.
  • I'd like to see Derek F gone. His behaviors are increasingly getting on my nerves. He seems to think he's all that and he just isn't. While he can be a consoling ear at times, mostly he's judging others.
  • I am pleased that Derek X should be safe for another week. I've grown to like that lanky kid a lot.
  • Kyland and Tiffany seemed to mend bridges. Or not. Well, let me just say I'm pessimistic about how long the peace will last.
  • They are still pushing to get all Cookout members as the final six.
  • Derek X and Claire need to win powers and comps!
  • But, even at the end, the majority vote in the jury will be Cookout members.
  • Sigh.
  • Nominations should be later today unless they sleep through it as they have been up all darn night.

She does have moments of quiet ... moments

Says Detroit won't want her back

Chowing down

Bereft, simply bereft

Read his own letter this time

Who should go in what order?
Maybe you next, Derek, I say.

But, Kyland ...!
