'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Overnight Into Tuesday 9/04

Wow, the inmates, er... houseguests actually called it an early night despite napping all day yesterday.

Here are the events from inside the Big Brother Asylum:
  • Dick, Daniele, and Zach complained about Jameka's behavior. They said she was slamming around things packing, waking others up as she did so, moping, and not mingling with anyone.
  • Dick fussed that everyone wanted Jameka to go home.
  • BB gave them more beer and wine.
  • They played Quarters (including Jameka).
  • After the game was over Dick was saying once again he'd like to see Jameka leave this week.
  • Eric and Jessica had another smooch-fest.
  • As it went on, Jessica got more talking about the game than into the kissing. She's worried that she will be evicted.
  • As far as I know, despite Dick's complaints about Jameka, the plan is still to evict Jessica this week.
  • All is quiet on the western front.

'Big Brother 8' - 9/03 Live Feeds - A Screen Cap Speaks 1000 Words

It's been basically a very quiet day in the Big Brother house as most nap it away. Daniele decided to make cookies. That seems to be her specialty in the kitchen.

Is that an ant in the pan? I do believe it is! Yuch!

Dick sleeps on his round bed, stirring now and then.

Okay, now I'm not a huge neat freak or anything, far from it. But what's with the feet and crossed legs sitting on the table as she prepares the cookie batter? What's up with that? I guess an ant in the batter won't matter.

Zach joined her and HIS feet are up on the table, too! Dirty socks and all! That's it! They cannot come visit me! So there!

As far as game talk, there's been very little. It's almost uncomfortable watching (eavesdropping) as Daniele and Zach talk. He seems to think she actually enjoys his company, yet I know she's using him and doesn't have any interest in him as even an acquaintance. She talks about him behind his back and doesn't respect him at all. They talked a bit about Dick telling Jameka she's going home. Daniele feigned confusion over that.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Report - Monday 9/03 So Far

Jessica rests alone in the pool, alone with her thoughts. Joe Cool Rubber Ducky is surely nearby spying on her to report back to Evil Zach.

Here are the day's events so far in that Big Brother House of Faux Friendships:
  • Early in the morning hours, Eric um ... pleasured himself. Jessica was not aware of it.
  • Daniele and Jessica both feel a bit sick. Nerves? Alcohol? Well, it's not alcohol on Daniele's part. She's still abstaining.
  • Dick had a Dick Fit because someone had thrown a napkin on the ground in the backyard and it was covered in ants. He has a point, but I was thinking it might attract the ones out from the kitchen.
  • Eric mimicked Dick some more and the others thought he lost a bet and had to do so. Daniele doesn't think he lost a bet, she thinks he decided to mimic Dick because he annoys him.
  • The Veto Ceremony went down as I reported earlier. Daniele didn't use the veto and it's still Jameka and Jessica on the block.
  • Not knowing that America has a hand in directing Eric's vote, the nominees are sure that Eric will vote for Jessica to stay.
  • Dick went to Jameka and warned her in a nice considerate way that they're going to vote her out this week. He just wanted her to know that it wasn't personal, no one wants to be next to her in the final two because she's so well-liked, purely strategic.
  • That, of course, was a lie and a ploy. We know that Dick and Daniele control the vote and plan to vote Jessica off this week.
  • Jameka, of course, reported the conversation back to Jessica.
  • Jessica is very suspicious about the whole thing and thinks that she's still the target.
  • Eric believes that Dick and Daniele are voting for Jameka to leave, so he tried to pep talk Jessica.
  • Eric told her that if she stays this week, Dick and Daniele will have honored their deal. (Or not, I say!)
  • Zach told Dick that Eric had approached him and asked that he not be put on the block against Jessica. Dick thought it was funny.
  • It's still over 100 degrees there. How do they lay out tanning? Eww.
  • Jameka is hoping for a secret power which will save her in the game. (Little does she know, she'll probably get one this week. It's called betrayal.)
  • Jessica thinks that Jameka told her the truth about the conversation with Dick, but has some doubts. Eric thinks that if Dick was lying to Jameka, she wasn't in on any scheme.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Bulletin - POV Ceremony Done

After an hour-longish feeds block, the feeds have returned. Daniele did NOT use the veto. All feeds are on Jessica and Jameka talking about the indicators of who's going will be by a 2-1 or 3-0 vote during the live show. The 2-1 would mean Jessica as she'll have Eric's vote.

'Survivor 15: China' - My First Impressions on the Cast - Part Two

It's time I got moving along with this, right? Part One can be found here. I'm going alphabetically by first name as I peek in on the cast for the upcoming season. You can find all of my Survivor 15: China content by clicking on the label link at the end of the post. Let's get it on!

Chicken is actually Steve Morris, a chicken farmer hailing from Virginia. He looks like he'll be our "out there" character for the season.

He's a single parent with three children, four dogs, and has raised a lot of chickens, too.

I'm a bit surprised at his age. He's not even 50, yet looks a lot older than that to me. He was born in 1959. I'm feeling so old, sigh...!

In watching his video on the CBS site, I can't help but think of Big Tom in a smaller package. He calls Survivor the "greatest damn game in history." He grew up in the woods, is driven by thought of winning the big bucks. I think if he makes allies, he will be loyal unless they give him a reason not to be.

While perusing his favorites, I see a man with basic tastes. He doesn't list Survivor as one of his favorite shows, instead listing NCIS and CSI. He likes brandy and Snickers bars, not necessarily at the same time. His favorite cereal is a generic "corn flakes." That tells me that he's into the simpler things in life -- he doesn't need the bells, whistles and frosting.

I think his outdoors-woodsy experiences are going to help him in the game. I also think others may not take him as a serious contender, but he could very well be one. My prediction on his chances of winning it all? I don't think he will, but I think he might make it to mid-pack.

Next up is a more traditional kind of casting choice -- a waitress named Courtney. Hopefully she's not as flaky as the Courtney who was the "performance artist." Um, wait ... I watched her video. "Like, we're talking, like, a coffee shop waitress, in, like, Union Square, like in Manhattan."

Oh, my -- it's a blonde BB8 Jen Gwen Stefani don't give a darn girl! She doesn't seem determined to win and, like, whatever!

In looking at her bio information, I see she sounds like an interesting enough person and is probably fairly intelligent. But it seems she doesn't have a lot in the aspirations or future goals kind of category -- she wants to experience life. That's not necessarily a bad thing, per se. However, it's not a great outlook going into a game where you have to Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast.

She's very thin and tall, and even says she's not going to be a strong competitor in physical challenges. She says she's brutally honest (could be described as "bitchy") and sarcastic.

In her favorites she doesn't list Survivor, but goes for So You Think You Can Dance, Flava Flav, and American Idol. Her outdoors activities include sunbathing and eating al fresco. Her cereal? Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Not a bad cereal, but I expected her to be more of the Count Chocula type.

Her chances? I'd say snowball in hell. Prove me wrong, Courtney.

Next is Dave, another more typical job category we often see on the show -- former model. He's currently a bartender and construction worker. Now, you can't get more typical Survivor casting than that, can you?

Well, after being like, turned off by Courtney's video on the CBS site, I'm very impressed with Dave's video. He's well-spoken, comes across as a decent guy, yet has his eyes on a win. He's also lived in Africa and says there are two types there -- The AfriCANs and the AfriCAN'Ts. He was an AfriCAN.

So, it's to his bio info! He's well-traveled, but not all that into the kind of activities which would help in in the show. I mean, snowboarding and frisbee golf aren't quite translatable to Survivor, I don't think. He does say he loves to camp, is a good motivator and a team player, though. That's good.

In looking at his favorites, he's yet another without Survivor on the list. But he has Dexter! Whoa ... we're talking a serious cereal eater here -- Kashi Granola. That tells me he's health conscious and serious.

I think we have a contender here, folks. I predict Dave Cruser will cruise well towards the Final Four. I also predict I'll enjoy watching him do so, win-win for me!

Next, and the last one for this entry, is Denise. Now, I didn't think much of her at first glance -- a school lunch lady with a mullet. Not too impressive. But, after watching her video, she's the only one so far who has given me a chuckle, not as good as a guffaw, but a chuckle and perhaps even a snicker. "When my hair gets too long, it hurts my head."

She also seems to have a plan -- get the "middle group" and they target the stronger ones, then the weaker ones and she's the last one standing.

In looking at her bio information, she's more of a physical sort than I would have expected. She has a black belt in Karate. Ohhh! She's a mom of three who's been married for sixteen years. She describes herself as determined, outgoing, competitive, and strong-willed.

Jumping over to her favorites, she likes Stephen King. Yay! She also lists Survivor in her favorite shows. Her cereal is Frosted Flakes, that's a g-r-r-eat choice indeed!

I think I'm really going to like this woman and I definitely was a bit turned off just by her photo. If she doesn't try to run things, I think she's going to be another contender for the Final Four or, at least the latter half of the season. I think she's going to add some humor, too.

I will post the next installment as soon as I can get to it! What do you think of this bunch?

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Overnight Into Monday 9/03

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

Why, yes. There does seem to be a target on Jessica for Thursday. Little do the houseguests know, but another target is set to walk out of the door Thursday, too.

The evening wasn't overly eventful, but here's the skinny:
  • They played a mix of beer pong and quarters which Eric likened to Hungry Hippo.
  • They played forever, it seems.
  • Eric, Jessica, and Jameka all got a bit tipsy.
  • Jameka kept spontaneously bursting into song -- "Viva Las Vegas" and "I Feel Pretty" -- which made for temporarily blocked feeds.
  • Jessica told Dick that Jameka thinks Daniele will use the veto, save her, and put Eric on the block. Dick siad he doesn't believe her.
  • After being called to the Diary Room, Eric returned and started mimicking Dick.
  • There's your America's Player task completed.
  • The others think he was doing it because he was drunk, but he told Jessica he was going to keep doing it. Jessica said it was odd, all of a sudden.
  • Dick got irked at him and even took a stab at it being related to Eric's DR session. He asked Eric if it was a bet with them. Eric said, "Maybe."
  • "Houseguests, you are not allowed to discuss your Diary Room sessions with other houseguests."
  • Dick wants to cut a deal with Jameka in which she swears she won't come after them the next week in order to save her. Of course, D&D have already decided to switch targets to Jessica this week, but Jameka doesn't know that.
  • Daniele thinks if they worry about jury votes now they might never make the final two.
  • They don't intend on telling Zach that Jessica's the target until Thursday, it will be their secret for the week.
  • Meanwhile, Eric thinks that Jessica is safe as per his talks with Dick. He's worried, yes. But he has no clue she's the target.
  • Eric told Jessica that if they (Dick and Daniele) get rid of her, they will make a serious enemy of him. (Shaking in my boots here, aren't you?)
  • Everyone went to bed. Jessica and Eric smooched and lovey-doveyed, they're still awake but in bed as I post this.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Video

The houseguests were bored. They have coins. Don't ask me why they have coins. They've never been allowed to have any money during previous years. Big Brother hasn't hidden quarters about the house for prizes. But they have coins nonetheless. They also have wine and beer in small amounts. What to do? Create their own game which reminds Eric of Hungry Hippo, bounce the coins into a glass. They weren't too successful. Here's a video clip I posted at YouTube of them. As for the moment, all are in bed with Eric and Jessica talking in the dark.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Sunday 9/02 Into the Night

Eric talks to Jameka and Jessica as I get this out to the world. It was unbearable today in the Big Brother house. No, not so much because of the houseguests, but due to the heat in Southern California.

Being on the block has really bonded the Jessica/Jameka relationship. They've drifted together and, for the most part of the day, stayed pretty much away from Zach, Dick, and Daniele. Even Eric has given them space.

As Jameka and Jessica grow closer, there's a rift between the lovebirds, Eric and Jessica. He feels horrible and keeps trying to tell Jessica how horrible he feels only to have her respond that he can't feel as bad as her because she's on the block and thinks she'll go home.

Meanwhile, Zach had an alliance meeting with his secret alliance, his main duck, Joe Cool Rubber Ducky. Joe Cool is the only one in the house who truly has Zach's back. He's the only one who really understands Zach and will throw himself under the proverbial bus to save Zach's skin. The most powerful ally in existence, there is no frigate like a duck.

In other news from the Big Brother House of Sweating Bored People:
  • Big Brother gave them wine.
  • Off and on during the day they talked of movies and television shows.
  • Jessica said she's not an alcoholic -- she's just bored in the house and alcohol is something to do. (I say CRAFTS, give 'em CRAFTS!)
  • Jessica put Rosie O'Donnell down on her application as the celebrity she dislikes the most.
  • Dick and Daniele snip-snapped at each other.
  • Jameka and Jessica tried to figure out who Daniele wants to sit next to at the end -- her father? Is there a way she could get him out of the house?
  • Could Dick get Daniele out somehow without getting blood on his hands?
  • Daniele told Zach she wishes it was a double-elimination week coming up so both Jameka and Jessica could go home.
That's about it. I'm still waiting for the Judas kiss. It looks like Jessica will be targeted for eviction and Daniele probably won't use the veto this week.

'Big Brother 8' - Sunday 9/02 Show Live-Blogged from the East Coast

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

On the feeds, the houseguests are talking about Survivor. But here on the East Coast, the show is starting! I'll be live-blogging the events as they air here. Please forgive any typos and/or misspellings!

We're taking the Recap City tour now as I put this post out there live. Stop back, refresh the page to get the latest!

It's to the black and white re-eviction of Amber. In the opening sequence they showed Eric's fall. No wonder he fussed. It looked like he twisted something.

Zach is happy he's still here, duh! Eric is pleased with America's decision to vote out Amber. And it's on to the HOH comp! They all take some spills. Zach fell very well! Eric is falling all over the place. Jameka feels like the odd man out.

It's ovbious that Zach is in the lead. Daniele took a pretty bad fall. A small container can be filled for a phone call from home or you can give it to someone else -- a beaker is in every lane for that purpose. Eric decided he was doing poorly, so filled the beaker for the call.

For each larger cup, a day of cold water. They all take two cups. Jessica grimaces.

Dick thinks his waiter skills help him get ahead. Zach is just determined because, well, he's Zach. It's a flashback to Dick lighting into Zach over throwing them (D&D) under the bus. Dick is worried that Zach will win HOH and remember the conversation. "You should have gone home instead of Nick, you dumb***!"

Dick tells us that he has to win, Zach CANNOT win this HOH!

Heh.

OMG -- Zach has a bunny face as he competes! Dick thinks three cups will make him win, but Zach is faster with his two. Zach's ball is showing and he has his ball in hand! (One in the hand is worth two in the bush?)

Okay, I'll behave. Zach is the new HOH.

Dick tells us Amber would have lost it. Eric is devastated and doesn't want this to harm Jessica. He's torn over giving the phone call to either Jameka or Jessica, but he gives it to Jessica. She hopes to hear from her brohter in Iraq.

Eric feels horrible over the nominations he worked on Jessica to make. He feels he screwed up.
Daniele tells Dick she has a lot of pull with Zach and he'll put Jessica and Jameka on the block, not them.

Zach's HOH room -- Eric tells us it's the most despondent bunch ever to see a HOH room. Everyone is just sitting there looking uncomfortable. Of course, the editing makes the mood more awkward than it is, but...!

Daniele is talking to Zach now. He said her father threatened him, but she lightens the mood. She tells Zach that she doesn't tell him everything. Daniele is playing the Zachster perfectly. She's confiding in him and he's buying the bridge.

Best line of the night so far is Zach telling us, "Really, can you trust a guy named Dick?"

Now it's to Eric telling Jessica that he cast the odd votes. This is OLD footage! Why now, BB? He doesn't mention America's Player or anything that relates to production. She still trusts him.

Time for Jessica's phone call from home. It's her brother! He's home, got back last Friday, Jessica cries. Hmm... on the feeds she said she talked to her friend, too. Only the brother Dean was shown. Attractive-looking brother!

She's still crying, but they're happy tears. She's so happy that he's home safe.

America's Player -- we want Jameka to be nominated. Eric thinks that it will be an easy task. He goes to talk to him. He tries his hardest, but Zach is pretty evasive over his thoughts.

Daniele thinks that Zach should put up Eric and Jessica. It would keep the blood off their hands -- hers and her father's. She talks Dick into the idea and goess to chat with Zach again. She tells Zach that if Jessica or Eric win HOH this week, they'll send him home. He still thinks that he can't benefit by keeping Jameka.

"Don't tell anyone I told you, even later this week." -- Daniele to Zach. Zach asks not to be put up by Dick or Daniele if he does their bidding.

America's Player -- Which HG should Eric mimic? Hmmm...

Time for Zach to decide. Daniele is confident. Eric hopes Zach doesn't take him or Jessica out. Jessica is sure she's going on the block. He tells us he wants to take out the biggest threats to him personally.

It's ceremony time! Zach says it was a hard choice, based on relationships he's built.

Key order -- Dick, Daniele, Eric.

Zach says that Jameka isn't a personal situation, doesn't really know her as a person and he's threatened by her good relationships. He fears Jessica in the end game and everyone likes her. He said it wasn't personal.

Jessica thinks it's a cop out because he didn't want to nominate Dick or Daniele.

Daniele is content. She thinks her friendship with Zach has paid off. Eric is devastated and feels Jessica's nomination is all his fault.

'Big Brother 8' - Quickie Screencap Live Feeds Update

These are a few screen caps I just took -- first Daniele is sitting moping, then a quad cam view as she looks in the refrigerator and the rest of the house sleeps. We went from Dick being up spitting, smoking, cooking, cleaning, and ranting to Daniele being up acting like she's moping.

Dick is more interesting to watch. At least he talks!

Now it's to Daniele joining Zach out by the pool. Sundays are a bore for them.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Saturday Overnight Into Sunday 9/2

"This is a disaster, a culinary disaster," said Evel Dick as he cooks up some breakfast while I get this posted. You know ... if I had to have one houseguest this season cook me a meal, I'd vote for Dick to do the task. While Zach and Daniele argue about the right way to boil rice, I see Dick look at a bunch of ingredients and go at creating something tasty from what's on hand. Heck, I'd even give him a real knife if he'd cook for me!

Here are Saturday evening's events leading into Sunday morning's "Brunch with Dick" in that Big Brother House of Culinary Catastrophes:
  • Dick obviously doesn't know the meaning of brunch -- it's not even 6:45 there and he calls his breakfast brunch.
  • Eric fussed about shaving without hot water. "I'm bleeding! I'm bleeding!"
  • Daniele is a fan of the Olsen twins. Why am I not surprised?
  • In what started as a talk about movies, Dick went further into the problems in Africa with the diamond trade and Darfur. I was surprised that Zach knew nothing about the issues. Jameka and Dick are both fairly knowledgeable about the events there.
  • Jameka is surprised that Neil Patrick Harris is gay. She's easily surprised, I guess.
  • Daniele told Zach she's really not sure who should go home this week yet.
  • They played quarters, drank beer and wine, made sock puppets, and messed with the body paints in an effort to amuse themselves. BB -- give these folks something to do, anything!
  • Eric advised Jessica to go to Daniele and Dick and make a big production out of wanting to go after Zach. Jessica told him that it's Dick and Daniele she wants to target.
  • Eric told her he wasn't worried, but Jessica surely is!
  • The smitten couple continued in their smitten ways, oblivious to what may happen down the road. Carpe diem!
  • Eric thinks Janelle hates him because he insulted her to her face. Smart move there, Eric!
  • They still have a big ant problem in the kitchen. Jameka and Dick are the most vocally upset by it ... they want a fumigator in there like yesterday!
  • Everyone is asleep as Dick makes his breakfast. At one point he poured too much milk in his eggs, bent to fix them, bumped his head and his microphone fell off. At times like that, he reminds me of Kramer from Seinfeld.
  • As I post this, Dick is still the only one up, shaving, smoking, and sneezing. He's singing his own little song -- "all's well, balls smell." He tells us he HAS to win HOH this week, has to to do it.
  • UPDATE at 11:05 AM ET -- Dick is still the only one awake. He's cursing the thought of keeping Jameka that long. It's looking like it's going to swing to evicting Jessica or backdooring Eric.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds - Saturday So Far 9/01

After their late-night meet-up with the Queen of Veto, Janelle, the houseguests' excitement has wound down some. Above, Eric schemes with Jameka (obviously not in the screen cap I took).

Here are the happenings from that Big Brother House of Teatotalers:
  • Evel Dick apparently flirted with Janelle during the POV comp. I think he's probably more happy about that than Janelle is.
  • Daniele is thrilled -- she says Janelle is her favorite and Janelle told her she likes her. Ain't that special?
  • Daniele and Dick spent a lot of time thinking about their options. Since Daniele has the veto, the power of the house is in their two votes.
  • If they send Jessica home, they think they'll lose jury votes. Daniele wants to go for a Jessica ouster and turn on Jessica and Eric. Dick thinks Jameka should go this week.
  • Zach is seriously considering sending Jessica home (he tells Dick). He is worried about an Eric reaction, though.
  • Dick thinks Jessica and Jameka are the biggest threats in the house due to their popularity with everyone.
  • Dick also thinks that Jessica is taking the nomination personally and would take going home more personally. Zach just shrugged and said, "She put me up."
  • Eric pushed Daniele for a Jameka eviction. I would guess that's the America's Player choice.
  • Eric is sore from both the HOH and POV comps.
  • The comp last night was a morphing houseguests face kind of comp. Those are always fun!
  • Jessica and Jameka said that Janelle hinted an America's Choice was coming up and that Daniele would be upset if Dick got it and she didn't.
  • Eric told Dick that their plan was coming together perfectly -- Jameka going home this week, Zach next to go. Dick didn't argue, but even if plans have changed, he's not going to tell Eric!
  • When Eric asked Dick if Zach was good with Jameka leaving, Dick told him that it didn't matter because it was out of his (Zach's) hands.
  • Eric thinks the Little Julie Chen Alliance is 100% to win HOH because Jameka will be gone and Zach won't be able to play because he's the current HOH.
  • Jameka still thinks there's a possibility that Daniele will use the veto to save one of them and Dick will be put on the block. (Wait ... look up in the sky! Is that a pig flying over Hoboken?)
  • Jameka also thinks it's unfair that Daniele got a letter from Nick and Zach is so pro-Nick that it makes him blind to anything Daniele does.
That's all for now. It's kind of a letdown after about 48 hours of excitement!

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Report - POV and More

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

As we guessed, the Power of Veto comp (featuring Janelle) was blocked to the feeds.

But we do know the results. The winner of the overnight comp was yet another blonde, but by no means can she be called buxom.

The new Power of Veto holder is Daniele.

Here's the rest of the news:
  • Zach mentioned to Dick that he found it odd that Eric took the phone call offer (which he handed off to Jessica) instead of trying for HOH. (Eric said he hurt himself in a fall right at the start and was so far behind, I think it made sense for him. He knew he wouldn't win.)
  • Jessica and Eric think that Dick and Daniele have/will betray them.
  • At about midnight their time, the feeds were blocked and didn't return until nearly 3:30 AM.
  • Jessica is very upset that Daniele won. She told Eric that Daniele already told her that she wouldn't use it. (To me, that sounds like a good thing and right if they follow through with the Jameka eviction plan. I think Jessica thinks she's going home, but it would be worse for them if she saved Jessica and Zach put Eric or Dick on the block.)
  • Daniele thinks Janelle loves her and doesn't like Eric.
  • Dick said Janelle told him he looks hot.
  • Zach tried telling Dick that keeping Jameka and sending Jessica home may be a better way to go. No commitment from Dick on that thought.
  • Jessica mentioned she liked HOLLY. Argh, the voices, the voices!
  • There's where we stand. I don't know if the POV Ceremony will be held on Monday or whether it might be earlier. The HG still have no clue it's a double eviction week looming ahead.

'Big Brother 8' - TV Squad Article on Blocked Press for BB Evictees

My latest article -- about BB8 blocking exit interviews starting with Amber -- is up on TV Squad.

May I nap now, please?

Oh, wait ... this isn't the Seniors BB House!

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Report - Friday 8/31

Jameka and Jessica talk about Zach nominating them both for eviction. They aren't pleased with him. They're also upset that he didn't look them in the eye when he nominated them.

But, before that point, lots happened in the house today and I've been running behind all day. So here we go!
  • Dick wants to get rid of Jameka this week, then Zach the next.
  • Jessica was sure she would be nominated. She figured it would be her and Eric or Jameka.
  • Jessica talked with Dick. She said that since she'd probably be on the block, she'd rather be up with Jameka, then Jameka goes home.
  • Jessica received her phone call (won by Eric somehow in the HOH comp and given to her). She talked to her brother and her friend. Since she's been in the house, her brother returned from Iraq and she's thrilled he's home. She's proud of him but has been very worried. Her brother told her the Booyah shirt was backing a charity (which I linked in the post the night they showed her wearing it on the show).
  • Dick and Zach went over their reasons for Jameka to leave this week.
  • Zach is pleased that Eric is a bit scared, but Eric doesn't seem to be his target. It really sounds in all of his talks that it's Jameka he wants out.
  • Daniele worked on Zach with the idea of an Eric or Jessica eviction next week -- which would be this week, they just don't know they're heading into a double eviction.
  • Zach went around talking to everyone, feeling them out. (Mind you, feeling them OUT, not UP.)
  • Zach made a deal with Eric. He told him he would rather be against him at the end and considers Jameka and Jessica threats. He wants everyone to vote Jameka out. Eric agreed he would do so.
  • Well, DUH, Zach. Of course Eric would vote out Jameka before Jessica.
  • Eric told him he didn't want to be put up against Jessica.
  • There you go, the day in a nutshell. Jameka and Jessica are on the block with Jameka being the target. Supposedly, any POV players besides Jameka will keep the nominations the same and Jameka will leave on Thursday with a vote of 3-0.
  • Jessica is playing dumb with Jameka and giving her no indication that she has any inkling what's up.
  • No one has used the word "pawn."
The greatest plans of mice and men ...

We all know things can go topsy-turvy overnight, say nothing about nearly a week!

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Bulletin - Nominations

Okay, the feeds have returned.

Jameka and Jessica are on the block.

'Big Brother 8' -- And STUFF

Folks,

I came in from work swamped with emails. I get one for each comment and lots of TV Squad and other stuff. I've written an article on the blocking of exit interviews starting with Amber. That should be posted to TV Squad sometime this evening. I'm working on a feeds update and awaiting the feeds block to end as it seems they're doing the nomination ceremony and I want to get that news out to you.

But ... I see some problems in the comments. I really don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable posting here and ask that folks don't make any sweeping generalizations about others based on anything done or said by the houseguests. Please treat others with tact. Some folks are sensitive, some have had past experiences in their lives which make some topics more close to heart. I think we have the best community here of any BB forum I've visited.

But let's move along off the topic of each other. Please...!

Thanks!

As soon as I know the noms, I'll put up a bulletin.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds Since the Live Show Into Friday 8/31

As I get this written up, Evel Dick and Daniele are whispering. I can only catch about every third word they say, but they're not too happy.

Here's the latest skinny:
  • First, I'd like to thank everyone who participated on the blog last night once again. You ALL rock! I recorded the show, but haven't watched it yet because I had the blow-by-blow description of the events. I'll watch it after work tonight.
  • In the comp, they gave up hot showers for the week in order to get more cups. Eric also won a phone call, but gave it to Jessica in hopes they can get her brother in Iraq to call.
  • Keep in mind, the HG are covered with a buttery substance ... and can only take cold showers. EWW.
  • They're wondering if they'll have a food comp tomorrow (today). I don't know, but they usually don't when they have to cover a HOH endurance comp on the Sunday show. Maybe.
  • Jessica thinks that Zach will nominate her because she put him on the block last week.
  • There's something about envelopes and phone calls from home, but the feeds were cutting out and I didn't quite get it. I'm not sure if they were discussing the one call I heard about or additional ones.
  • Everyone who was in the comp is sore. There were some slips, slides, and crashes. Everyone lived, though. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?
  • They didn't get their usual Thursday night big feast -- this must be why they had the one the night before. BB had no idea how long this comp would take.
  • In his HOH, Zach got snacks which he promptly shared with all, a Frisbee, and lots o' goodies. His Mom sent a card which said "Have good clean fun." Huh. She doesn't know this show too well, does she?
  • Dick thinks the fact he was wearing jeans slowed him down. I thought he did very well. I personally think Zach won due to his larger feet to sail on, but it could have been grit and determination!
  • Eric said he hurt himself about five minutes into the comp. Since he thought it might go on for hours, he didn't want to ruin things and didn't say anything.
  • Zach told Daniele his brother told him not to be the first one voted out, so he's thrilled to be this far in the game.
  • Daniele told him that everyone's upset that he won. They're all scared. She then kissed up and commented how she really didn't want Nick voted out the week he was. Going for the sore points, eh?
  • Daniele seems to be trying to hint to Zach that he should put Dick on the block. Zach admits to her that Dick makes him very uneasy.
  • Then Daniele goes for him putting Eric or Jessica on the block. Anyone but Daniele, right?
  • Zach doesn't commit to anything at this time.
  • Dick thinks Amber or Jen had food stashed in the bedroom as there are ants and a smell.
  • Even Dick is sucking up to Zach.
  • Zach, so far, isn't pulling a Dustin. He's his normal abnormal Zach self, perhaps just a tad happier.
As I post this, there are no real indications who will go on the block tonight. I think Zach will think this through thoroughly and do the best thing on a strategic level for him to advance in the game. He won't do anything on a purely personal basis. Zach's like that, yeah, he is.

'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds - HOH Comp

ZACH WINS AT 10:53 PM ET! He's the new HOH!

I'll be updating this post as time goes on, so check back!

All are still in the comp now, it looks like Zach might be doing the best but it's hard to tell. -- 9:34 PM ET

9:50 PM ET Update -- Zach slightly in the lead, Evel Dick on his tail. Eric and Daniele lagging behind. Not even halfway full for any of them.

Daniele's bowl at approximately 10 PM ET. Zach still in the lead, Evel not far behind.

'Big Brother 8 - Live Feeds and THANK YOU

The feeds have returned! I want to thank everyone who took part in live-blogging the live show (which isn't live here tonight). I'm amazed at the response and you guys (gals!) really rock! It was fantastic! I apologize for not thinking to turn off the word verification for the comments for the posts earlier. Unfortunately, I will have to turn it back on sometime tonight to avoid spambots.

Once again ... thank you all so much! It was fun! And, you were tremendous with the updates!

And Amber's GONE! WOOHOO!
