BB22: PGA Tournament Delays East Coast Episode - 08/09

As Julie mentioned in the show's closing Wednesday, some areas may have the Sunday show on a delay. Well, that seems to be all of the East Coast. Due to the PGA tournament, Big Brother isn't even scheduled until 10pm EDT. I'm assuming that PDT should be the normal time; not sure of Mountain and Central. Check your local listings!

I will have a blog party post up for the 10pm EDT show as it's scheduled here.

They still don't have the yard.

BB22: Live Feeds Start Update and More

CBS announced that the live feeds will start after the West Coast airing of the season premiere tomorrow night. Or, as I should say here ... Thursday morning at 2am. You can expect my first live feeds report sometime Thursday morning. I have to wait and watch until I have enough fodder to post. I once again this season will be posting two updates a day, more if worthy stuff is happening in the house!

Since I am only one person, I don't report on every breath they take. I choose what I feel is important and what interests me. I don't make up nicknames or use them for the hamsters unless it's something widely known. I ask that you please do the same in comments. It always helps to know about whom you're speaking! I also discourage comments based solely on things like weight, looks, etc. and absolutely NO racist or bigoted comments! You can feel free to like or dislike any of them, but based on gameplay or things they're actually doing in the house.

As far as spoilers from the live feeds, I will not post, for example, the winner of a POV unless I personally see that the person won it. Any false postings made in comments will be deleted. This isn't Jokers where anyone can just post fake stuff!

I will be posting screen caps from the live feeds with each live feed report. Beware -- I love to get "bad" screen caps! Expect some pimple-popping!

As for the show schedule, other than the reveal and entry, I'm not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow, nor what schedule they'll keep comp-wise until we're in the swing. Tomorrow is 9pm-11pm. There is no show this Thursday. There is one Sunday evening at 8pm. The regular show schedule starting next week is: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday ... all shows at 8pm. The live evictions are still supposed to be on Thursdays.

In other news ...
It's still mostly rumors about who is in the house. HOWEVER, we now know for sure that Josh was booted from quarantine and that Christmas Abbot is indeed in the house.

Josh posted on Twitter, not going into detail, but saying his health was fine and thanking everyone who wished him well. He is sad about not being in there, but will root for his friends.

Then there's Christmas. It turns out she postdated an email to friends and coworkers saying she's in the house. She probably didn't think it would violate the nondisclosure as surely the cast reveal would have been in place by now. Nope. I guess BB could pull her off, but I get the feeling they won't. I'm just sort of surprised she's in the cast at all with her domestic violence arrests the past year or so. Maybe BB feels guilty about her broken leg or something.

That's all for now!

BB22: Blog Pool OPENS!

Well, we still don't have the cast release, but ...

It's that time of year once again -- time for our summer obsession. BB22 should make its season debut next Wednesday evening.

WHO WANTS TO JUMP INTO THE BLOG POOL?

What's it all about?

Our esteemed and accomplished Lifeguard SueGee (AKA SqueeGee) will randomly match up pool entrants with the hamsters in the habitrail. Once matched up with a hamster, you need to cheer that one on until they're evicted or win it all. Yeah, even if they're obnoxious. Deal with it!

What will I win?

Well, IF you win, you'll be pleased to know there is NO CASH PRIZE! Nuh-uh. No way. That would cheapen the whole thing, don't ya think? Instead of paltry prizes, you get BRAGGING RIGHTS. Yep! From now through all eternity YOU will be a blog pool winner here. Feel free (and I encourage it) to put your win in your sign-off signature so that everyone can oooh and ahhh. Can't you hear the crowd now?

How do I get in on this wild action?!?!

You just need to sign up in the comments of THIS POST ONLY. If you put your name in on another post or Facebook or Twitter, it might be missed. If you come here as anonymous, you must come up with some sort of name in you comment. Otherwise, we can't tell the anonymous folks apart. Well, except for the unruly ones, maybe.

When is the deadline for joining the pool?

The deadline for signing up is TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, at NOON Pacific Time (that's 3pm ET). Don't put it off! Sign up TODAY!

Hopefully we will have the cast reveal by then!

Survivor 39: Blog Pool OPENS! (and info, too)

Lifeguard Laurie has graciously offered to do the pool once again this season. She always rocks!

The season premiere is next Wednesday, September 25. The blog pool sign up must be made on this post only. The deadline for signing up is next Tuesday, September 24 at noon eastern time.

Jeff Probst doesn't seem to have a video assessment online.  But I found this link to an article in which he talks about each one with photos. Boston Rob and Sandra are not competing, so will not be a part of the blog pool.

BB21: TV Show Scheduling & Live Feeds Start

Hopefully they don't announce this scheduling then change it like they did last season!

Tonight - Tuesday June 25 8pm ET/PT
Tomorrow - Wednesday June 26 - 8pm ET/PT

Next week --
Sunday - June 30 - 8pm ETPT
Tuesday - July 2 - 8pm ET/PT
Wednesday - July 3 - 8pm ET/PT

After next week --
Sundays -- 8pm ET/PT
Wednesdays - 9pm ET/PT
Thursdays (live eviction) - 9pm ET/PT

Mind you, those are subject to change on a whim!

Regarding the live feeds -

By the time we get to tonight's first part of the season premiere, they've been in the house for about a week with no live feeds on. We miss the whole dtart of alliances, perhaps we even miss a kerfuffle or brouhaha! Rumors are that we might have missed an eviction. It's happened before.

Anyway, the feeds go live after the second premiere night airs on the West Coast. So, we're talking midnight on Wednesday night/Thursday morning )dependent on your point of view). I might post something in the wee hours or might just wait until Thursday morning to post a full live feeds report. Wednesday evening is going to be a bit rough with live blogging the BB21 premiere and the two-hour season finale of TAR.

As for my live feeds reports scheduling, I have no really set schedule. I plan on posting a morning post and an evening one. I might pstt more if there's a lot of action going on, veto comp winner, etc. I always link the posts on my Facebook page for the show and Twitter -- both links on sidebar. So, if you follow them, you'll see that I posted.

Expect the Expected with Blog Big Brother Coverage

While the BB motto is "Expect the Unexpected," this blog runs pretty much as expected each season. Here's what you can expect"

  • Bullet points. Expect them. A lot.
  • Blog parties during aired shows East Coast Time. During those posts, I live blog the show, constantly updating the entry with major happenings. In the comments area, there's a party going on -- sometimes discussing the show, sometimes discussing snacks. I only ask that long, heated debates (politics, for example) are not discussed.
  • I ask that spoilers are not posted on the show posts as some people who follow them do not follow the live feeds.
  • Expect spoilers in every post that is not show post.
  • I post two, sometimes more, rarely less live feeds reports daily. Since the live feeds are live not taped like most of the shows, expect spoilers.
  • I'm only one person, so I don't post every breath they take in the house.
  • I post things which catch my interest, news about comp wins and more in the live feed reports. Often blog readers may also chime in with something they saw.
  • Each live feed report will have some screen caps from the live feeds.
  • Since there aren't dozens (hundreds?) of people updating this blog, wins and such can be taken as fact. I don't post rumors and if I see false information in a comment, that comment gets removed.
  • Although I hang a bit in Twitter, I don't post much content there. I do immediately post all blog entry links on both my Twitter and my Big Brother related Facebook page which are both under STUFF in the right sidebar.

 What I expect from YOU:

  • You can like or dislike any hamster this season, but please don't treat the fellow commenters poorly.
  • A post about a hamster is much different than a post about fans of said hamster.
  • Please use actual names or widely-accepted names for the hamsters in comments so people (like me) know to whom you're referring. For example, calling someone Vincent because you think he's a cool cat would just confuse everybody.
  • While mocking behavior of the hamsters is one thing -- after all, they agreed to be in the public eye -- I ask that posts about things they can't control like weight, height, etc. that are out of their control not be made. Such comments might be deleted.
  • Any hate speech is deleted.
  • Do NOT respond to trolls. During shows, I might not get to read comments until commercials or the end of the show. When a troll comes in and posts mocking us all, it's more work to delete a gazillion protests from blog defenders. I appreciate the support, but …! Trust me, I catch the troll posts and any identity cloning people and delete the posts.
  • I ask that comments be kept to a PG level. Just because the hamsters have potty-mouths, we don't need to do so. I have this blog set with Google for all ages and not adult content. I want to keep that setting.

Last, but not least …

For those of you who have asked, my health still is an issue. I'm out on long term disability from my workplace with back surgery issues, leg nerve and muscle damage, vision issues and a whole whiny list that I won't depress you by listing.

That said, I do appreciate any donations you can make to the blog if you enjoy the coverage and community provided here. Unlike many sites who receive money from CBS All Access subscriptions and such, I only get a smidgen from advertising revenue. I do put a lot of effort into the blog and it gives me warm fuzzies to see donations! (Plus it helps with the bills!) Now that I've hit you up for that -- if you do not have CBS All Access and want to sign up for it, go to my ol' buddy Dingo at hamsterwatch.com and get them through her.

May the best hamster win!

Big Brother 21: Blog Pool OPENS!

It's that time of year once again -- time for our summer obsession. BB21 makes its season debut next Tuesday evening. Between now and then I'll post the proposed scheduling and definitely more about our new hamsters.

But this isn't about that. Nope. This is WHO WANTS TO JUMP INTO THE BLOG POOL?

What's it all about?

Our esteemed and accomplished Lifeguard SueGee (AKA SqueeGee) will randomly match up pool entrants with the hamsters in the habitrail. Once matched up with a hamster, you need to cheer that one on until they're evicted or win it all. Yeah, even if they're obnoxious. Deal with it!

Big Brother 21: Cast Reveal Next Monday!

The Big Brother 21 cast reveal will be on the live feeds next Monday, June 17, starting at 11am ET -- 8am PT The live feeds are/will be on CBS All Access. As always, there are rumors all over the web about whether it will be an All-Star, all new hamsters, some new and some old. Until we hear from CBS, we do not know -- no one knows.

In other news, Jeff Schroeder is returning to his role of interviewing the cast. I know some people don't care for him, but I certainly liked him better on the finale interviews. Nothing against Ross, but …! We already know Julie Chen Moonves will be back at least for this coming season.

Here's the announcement made today on Twitter --

Survivor 38: Edge of Extinction - Wednesday Technical Problems

We had one anonymous commenter on last night's show post who kept experiencing technical problems while watching the show. He or she kept hearing just the show theme music instead of the dialogue. No one else partaking in the comments had the same issue.

Well, anon … it's not your television. It's not your cable company. And, you're not alone. CBS has made the episode available online, no CBS All Access needed due to the issue. I saw this article today. Since you're anon, I can't give you a personal heads up. I hope you see this!

The Amazing Race 31 Blog Pool OPENS!

The new season of The Amazing Race starts NEXT Wednesday, 9pm ET/PT right after Survivor. That would be April 17. Mark those calendars! It's a CBS reality show smackdown kind of season ahead -- three teams from Survivor, three from Big Brother and five previous Amazing Race teams. I posted about the BB and Survivor teams on this linked post. I will post about the returning TAR teams soon.

But first … we have to get this blog pool opened!

Hey! Who's our Lifeguard? And what does the lifeguard do?

SueGee, affectionately known as SqueeGee, will be the lifeguard. She will randomly match up blog members with teams on the show. Beware, though, she has a whistle and knows how to use it!

Then what happens?

As the show airs, you cheer on your team. You cheer 'em on and on. (Even if you don't like 'em, you cheer 'em on.) Once (or if) your team is Philiminated, feel free to cheer on whomever you wish. Just don't run amok all over the pool!

What do I win if my team wins?

You win the much sought after … bragging rights. Yep, you got it. What? You thought this was about money? Nope. Money doesn't last. Bragging rights last forever even as future seasons air.

How do I get in on this action?

You need to sign up in the comments of this post and this post only. Submissions on any other post or on Facebook or Twitter might be missed. If you are here on Blogger under "Anonymous," you will need some sort of sign-off name. A first name is fine, a nickname, anything. Obviously we can't have a half-dozen "anon" entrants in the pool -- we wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

When is the deadline for signing up?

The pool sign up ends at noon PT, otherwise known as 3pm ET, on Tuesday, April 16. Sign up now before you forget! Stragglers can hang around the pool, but won't be able to swim.

The Amazing Race 31 starts April 17 - BB and Survivor Teams!

It's been announced that the new season of TAR will start following the airing of Survivor: Edge of Extinction on Wednesday, April 17. Now, I had absolutely no interest in that Million Dollar Mile (whatever) anyway. So, I'm glad it was booted to Saturday night in its death throes.

This upcoming TAR season was surely made for this blog and its readers! Why else would they have contestants from three CBS reality shows -- Big Brother, Survivor and The Amazing Race -- the three shows always covered here?

From Big Brother, we have …

A sister team of Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, now ages 34 and 32 respectively. Rachel has an edge over many of the BB hamsters as she's been on TAR twice already with her husband Brandon. Her stats are: Big Brother 12, winner of Big Brother 13, The Amazing Race 20 and The Amazing Race All-Stars. It will be interesting to see how she does with her sister who was on BB15.

Engaged couple Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo, ages 26 and 28. Although not even a showmance in their one BB season together, they're engaged now. Her stats: Big Brother 16, winner of Big Brother 18. He was the hamster who kept winning comps to come back in Big Brother 18. I'm not sure how she'll do on TAR -- she's one of those lovable but kind of naïve sorts. I can see him excelling at any challenge thrown his way. It's a shame he can't do all the challenges himself on the show!

Here's quite the duo! Friends Janelle Pierzina and Britney Haynes! Now ages 38 and 30. Janelle was a BB fan favorite with three summers on the show -- Big Brother 6,Big Brother All-Stars and Big Brother 14. She was a tremendous competitor in BB6. Britney has two BB seasons under her belt -- Big Brother 12 and Big Brother 14. Not as big a player on the physical comps as Janelle, I think she has a very entertaining (and sarcastic) wit about her. I'll enjoy watching them race as a team together!

From Survivor, we have ...

Married couple Rupert and Laura Boneham. He's 54 now, she's 49. Rupert had a large fan base from his four appearances on Survivor --Survivor: Pearl Island, Survivor: All-Stars, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, Survivor: Blood vs. Water. Laura was on Blood vs. Water with him. While I think Rupert is a very admirable man in his business and personal life, I was never really a fan of his on the show(s). To me, his schtick was to roar and act like a pirate. Age-wise and competition-wise, I think they're going to be out of their league on TAR.

Friends Corinne Kaplan and Eliza Orlins, ages 39 and 35 respectively. Corinne was on Survivor: Gabon and Survivor: Caramoan. Eliza was on Survivor: Vanuatu and Survivor: Micronesia. I didn't realize that Eliza is now a public defender in Manhattan. No, I won't go there and get into trouble just to meet her. Don't even ask! This should be a pretty solid team. As an added bonus, if they go to China, Eliza can speak Mandarin! I enjoy the both of them and they just might be contenders!

Then we have friends Chris Hammons and Bret LaBelle, both from Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X. Chris is 40, Bret is now 44. Chris is a defense attorney while Bret is a police sergeant. I enjoyed both of them personality-wise on the show. But, if memory serves, neither was all that great at the challenges. It looks like Chris, in particular, has gained some weight. I can't knock a person for that -- glass houses and all that, y'know! But … excess weight against lean and mean teams often brings an early exit from the show … or a late arrival on the welcome mat.

I'll be covering the returning TAR teams in a separate post. But, I'll leave you with a little teaser. Who could forget Colin from TAR5 and "My ox is BROKEN!"?

Survivor 38 Edge of Extinction Blog Pool OPENS!

It's coming! The season premiere of Survivor is next Wednesday, February 20. Between now and the premiere, I will be getting some cast posts up and running.

The Lovely Lifeguard Laurie has once again graciously offered to run the blog pool for the show. She, but of course, rocks!

I want in! What do I do?
If you want in to the blog pool, you need to sign up in the comments of this post and this post only! Please don't try signing up on any other posts -- we might miss your comment.

Is there money involved in this?
Of course not! You needn't pay anything to get into the pool. You don't need to buy a pool pass or anything! Mind you, you don't win any money either. What you do win is bragging rights until the next season and the smugness that goes with it.

How does it work?
Lifeguard Laurie makes random picks for the castaways and the blog folks. You cheer on that castaway all season until they either win or get their torch snuffed along the way.

When is the cut-off for entering?
All pool requests must be in comments to this here post and submitted by Tuesday,February 19, 3pm ET. Be there or be square.

Big Brother 20: Tonight, Tonight ...

Yep, yep, yep. Tonight is the season premiere of BB20! Are you ready?
  • If you haven't signed up for the blog pool and want to do so, you need to sign up on this blog pool opens post link. The deadline is Friday at midnight ET. We'll only be taking the names from the comments in that linked post; asking in anywhere else is probably not going to be noticed. We're starting it after the first hamster is evicted because we never get to know/watch them.
  • Tonight's (Wednesday's) season premiere is a two-hour taped show starting at 8pm ET/PT. They have already been in the house long enough for filming fodder while we've been left in the dark. We will have a live blogging/blog party post going for the duration. Please try to be PG-rated in the comments! Trolls, nastiness and plain ol' vulgar will be removed!
  • The season premiere continues tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 9pm ET/PT. Yes, another live blogging of the show and pool party on the blog. Mind you, you don't have to be in the pool to join in with commentary!
  • The live feeds don't start until after Thursday's show ends on the West Coast. So, we're talking 1:00am around here on the East Coast.
  • 'Big Brother After Dark' -- BBAD -- comes to life on Pop TV at the same time as the live feeds and you can find their schedule right here
  • The "big" schedule change for aired shows is that, after tonight, the Wednesday show will air at 9pm ET/PT instead of 8pm. We will see shows on Wednesday, Thursday (eviction) at 9pm ET/PT while the Sunday show remains at 8pm ET/PT when sports don't cause it to be delayed.
  • My plan for the live feeds reporting is to write up two reports per day. I won't catch everything and report as it happens. I'm only one person and have to depend on flashbacks or I would go without sleep for three months! And, I also don't report on every breath taken by the hamsters -- I tend to pick and choose on my own whims. There are other sites which do report every breath taken.
  • I'm not into folks berating others based on looks, size, or anything they can't control. Yes, they can control potty-mouths! I'm also not into weird nicknames for the hamsters -- to keep an eye on the comments (I also watch for fake news on comments and remove), I have to know about whom you're referring!
  • Remember ... this is a TV show. There is no need for hate or getting so worked up about the hamsters that it's skewing your perspective. We do not know these people/hamsters. It doesn't matter who wins or loses (except in the blog pool!) as long as we remain entertained.
  • You can find any of the BB20 posts here on the blog by using BB20 as a search term in the blog search box.
  • This blog is all about the spoilers. If you don't want spoilers, avoid the live feeds reports!
  • All blog posts here will be linked at my Facebook page for the blog. That page can be found right here at this link. If you're on FB, please like the page and you'll get notifications when I post. I try to keep BB stuff away from my personal FB page because, well, believe it or not, not all my personal friends watch the show! And, it can overwhelm my personal page, too.
  • I also post the links to posts on my Twitter account as I post them. You can find that link right here. I must confess I rarely tweet anything other than blog posts. Twitter probably hates me. Oops.

Big Brother 20: Blog Pool OPENS!

Big Brother 20 starts Wednesday night, June 27, at 8pm ET/PT. It's a two-hour premiere! The regular schedule will be Sunday at 8pm ET, Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm. Yes -- the Wednesday show this season will be an hour later than past seasons. The live eviction shows remain on Thursday evenings.

The time is right to jump into the blog pool! While the first eviction should be this Thursday night (along with the feeds going on after that show airs West Coast time), the blog pool sign up deadline will be Friday. We never get to know that first evicted, so that hamster isn't a part of the pool.

I want in! What do I do?
If you want in to the blog pool, you need to sign up in the comments of this post and this post only! Please don't try signing up on any other posts -- we might miss your comment.

Is there money involved in this?
Of course not! You needn't pay anything to get into the pool. You don't need to buy a seasonal beach pass or anything! Mind you, you don't win any money either. What you do win is bragging rights until the next season and the smugness that goes with it.

How does it work?
We make random picks betwixt the hamsters and the blog folks. You cheer on that hamster all season until they either win or get evicted along the way.

When is the cut-off for entering?
All pool requests must be in comments to this here post and submitted by MIDNIGHT Friday, June 30. Be there or be square.

REMINDER -- If you post comments anonymously, you MUST come up with some sort of sign-off name!

Since there is plenty of time for signing up ... NO STRAGGLERS. If you don't sign up by the deadline, feel free to bring your floatie and beach towel, but ...

Are we ready for our summer fun?

Big Brother 20 - Cast Announcement Coming Soon

Photo ©cbs.com

It's coming! The show will have a two-night premiere starting Wednesday, June 27. That debut will be two hours starting at 8pm ET while the Thursday show will be on the 28th starting at 9pm ET. The live feeds will start after the Thursday show finishes airing on the West Coast.

So ... who will be the house hamsters this season?

We don't know. Not yet, anyway.

But according to the CBS website, All Access members will have the first sneak peek at the cast on the live feeds this coming Monday starting at 11am ET. Unfortunately, I have my surgeon follow-up visit slated for 11:30am that day. But I will have the rest of that afternoon off to catch up (and to catch you up) on what I find out!
